The fix worked for me, but you have to repeat it if you log out, or if you switch characters. Also, the AFK setting didn’t work.

I’m getting the feeling that when someone uses a skill that has an audio file associated within X distance of your character, your character speaks it. Watch your character for a while…it’s them saying it. Hilarious for my norn/asuran/sylvari females to start shouting charr guardian phrases.

What will happen to Sylvari PCs?

Lupini.6938

In a way, this is actually balancing things out. From launch until now, sylvari have been relatively “corruption free.” The ability to fend of dragon corruption was even written into some of the story lines leading into Orr, in that sylvari companions are chosen for missions because of this fact.

All the other races/species have corrupted members of their species in the game, and yet the player characters are honorable. This time we (the players) get to live through the events leading up to the corruption for a race/species, rather than just reading about the history (Jormag and the Norn, Kralkatorrik and the Charr, etc.)

Why not just call us "Commander"?

…Although just for the record, I love it when Charr call me “boss”, because that fits consistently into the background dialog you hear with them all the time. So Charr are allowed to do that. For them it seems to be a sign of earned respect.

Wasn’t it Rox that first started calling us boss?

I didn’t have a problem with it until the last battle in this LS story. After one has done that a few times…well yea, gonna wring some necks. Also gonna teach Rox how to better target things she tosses.

Although, I must admit, we lovingly call our guild leader “Boss” all the time, so as leader of this little in-story guild, I suppose it fits.

Is that why there is no butterfly on my asuran carapace shoulders? Wow. It’s a separate piece, why should it be a “male” skin. My asuran is the one that I actually WANTED the butterfly shoulders…looks dumb on my norn and human.

PLUS, why can’t males have the butterflies? There are plenty of skins that are “masculine.” I can imagine a few guys out there are wishing they had butterflies on the carapace piece.

"Turbo Clickers" & "Autoclicker", etc

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Lupini.6938

Thanks for the tip about artificers for luck. It’s only one of the things that needs a lot of clicking, but I totally forgot about my artificer.

The whole macro thing is why I’d like to see more options in the alternate menu for an item. “Use all” or “use x amount” or some such. If we ALL had those options in game, then it’s not an advantage. I’d really rather see in-game tools for these repetitive stress movements. This is loot we’ve already obtained, or generally achievements that effect no one but our own characters (food/drinking achievements, etc.). Making us spend more time just clicking isn’t fun. I totally agree that one click/one skill should remain. Actions that do effect combat or other competitive activities should not give an advantage. They made processing stacks of crafting items quick and painless, they can do it for other repetitive actions.

And please devs…fewer “Russian stacking doll” type loot bags. Honestly, I stopped the Wintersday event because the open-open-open loot took more time than the events.

Game Updates: Traits

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Lupini.6938

So, I blissfully ignored traits since the change, having multiple characters at the time, including several 80’s. I rolled out a new character recently, and now that the traits have unlocked and I understand what is involved…I’ve decided to just ignore traits on that character all together. I’ll still level it up, in the hopes the system will change, but right now this is mind-numbing. I regularly apologize for the system to new players that join our guild and start asking questions.

While this post doesn’t add any constructive ideas, I’m just doing it to let devs know that the crappy system is still effecting both veterans and new players daily, and the sooner a fix comes the better. Traits are basic to our characters, if players can’t access these in a reasonable manner outside of PvP, they’ll give up.

Thanks for that tip Zypher, should work for me for many of the situations. While I don’t have a diagnosed muscle/nerve condition, my clicking fingers have gotten a bit worn out and I’m feeling a bit of “tennis elbow” in the forearm. Between luck, bags that open up to more bags, etc., it’s a bit ridiculous. Every thing that can stack needs a “use all” option, including a “salvage all” option. That way, even if we don’t want to use the entire stack, we could split into the amount we want to use and then do batches.

Lupini.6938

I don’t mind the new mechanism…it’s the specificity that is annoying me.

If we can mine/gather/cut lumber in a region (multiple zones), then why not allow for events across the region, etc. Specific bosses is annoying. I can’t time my play for that. There should be ways to keep the general system and get rid of the specificity.

The New Dailies -- Feedback welcome

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Lupini.6938

Lupini.6938

Figured I’d wait to weigh in on the new dailies. I really dislike being forced where I’m going to collect ore, do events, fight bosses, etc. The past system wasn’t that bad, I don’t see why we have to be restricted in where we do specific activities.

The events in a specific zone makes the zone into one big zerg fest. By the time someone announces an event is up, the event is pretty much done because so many people get there within seconds. I stopped putting it in map chat if I came across an event, simply because there were so many people there by the time it was announced it would be over and I’d just prompted people to waypoint around for no reason. Additionally, if there are down-leveled players there they still pretty much one-hit stuff. This forces everyone to sit at the spawn points and try to get a hit in just to get credit.

I ended up at 7 events with my level 26 character in Caledon today to get 4 events credit because the events opened and closed before my character could kill/collect/hit whatever needed to be done. At least the 2 with a timer for waves of stuff was something I could be sure to get credit within the timed period.

Gathering, woodchopping, or mining in a specific “district” is just annoying. Let me play where I’ve got stuff I want to do, and collect along the way there.

Specific bosses? Come on. Many of us can only play an hour or two at particular times. If the timer gods hate us, then we don’t get the boss event done. Plus, some of us just don’t want to do an event where everyone on the megaserver hits it all at one time. At that point, it’s just not fun for many of us.

Now it’s like clocking into work and getting a chore list.

I want to play *my own* characters

in Living World

Posted by: Lupini.6938

Lupini.6938

Critique more than complaints…I didn’t mind playing as a different character so much as :
a) lighting for scenes, some of us have visual difficulties that we’ve already dealt with in our settings. Switching it up all the time had me needing to go into settings for each instance to make it so I could see subtle things like the visual fields for the asura, etc. The different sand traps, etc., in the centaur fight were just a crap shoot if I could see them or not, even after adjusting gamma and other settings. I wish they would have faded back into normal colors once the fights started. Or maybe that’s what they intended…perhaps no one can see the ground effects.
b) “Blink” aspects on skills that I’ve never used before thrown at me in relatively tough instances. I hit the heal, and end up blinking back into the pack of mobs or into one of the sand traps…well, that was worthless. Ok, now I have to be sure which direction I’m headed when I heal, in addition to having to learn other skill “blink” actions. It was a bit much to have that on a heal when the other skills have transports where I end up zipping into unintended space and wasting damage. IMHO, just a bit too much bouncing and zipping around for a set of skills we have never used before. I pretty much ended up kiting a lot, caltrops, and the “whirling blades” skill for most things.

Ditto on giving her a couple of bow skills. Something with a shorter timer and some range would have given those of us with a lower “twitch” rating some breathing room.

Faolain, the American Sylvari

in Living World

Posted by: Lupini.6938

Lupini.6938

Her accent isn’t just because she’s young, it changes several times throughout the entire sequence, and within an instance. One comment it is a British accent, next moment she’s Americanized. I noticed it the first time through.

Someone in the continuity division dropped the ball. A minor problem, but just really obvious and, therefore, should not have happened.

Please don't make us be 'bad guys' again

in Living World

Lupini.6938

I’m looking forward to replaying this with guildies and someone else in the lead so I can actually watch Faolain. As a solo in the story, you have to be in the hut clicking the conversation queues, so you can’t actually see what happened. Faolain is trash talking the centaurs, yes…but she claims one of them attacked her first. Did a tail swish accidentally hit her? Because we all know that would be enough to make her try to take down someone.

I found the Inquest Lab more disturbing…couldn’t work fast enough to stop the torture. The centaurs could have stopped fighting, retreated, etc. The captive sylvari had no options.

Lupini.6938

Well carp. I’ve been playing three characters through the all the LS because they could each get any potential armor pieces, and NOW they change it?

This is not one of their brighter ideas for the game. If they are going to change it now, they need to drop the number of crests needed for the armor (which I thought was stupid expensive in the first place). If this were one character’s story, why would that character purchase a bunch of useless armor to just tote around in their bags…doesn’t make sense.

I’d rather have them make it so that one each of the different armor classes has to get the entire collection again (award the armor for the story, and the character collect the other pieces again)—that would at least make sense, that a character needed to get all the pieces for their own armor.

Can you please stop making *outfits*?

Lupini.6938

I’m not a fan of the outfits either. I got the ancestral for pretty much one character, and have used it on some lower levels. However each of the other outfits has some aspect of it I really dislike. Not being able to use what I want and leave the rest behind is deal breaking. I have purchased multiple armor skin sets.

I guess if they want to make outfits, I just hope they go back to also making skin sets. I wouldn’t mind paying more gems for the same appearance in an outfit.

The links do appear to be legit, so perhaps someone is trying to create an NCsoft account with this email account? If that is the case, NCSoft should specify that an account was created, and give a way to contact someone to cancel. Permanent "Leave Instance" option?

in Living World

Posted by: Lupini.6938

Lupini.6938

I will admit, I wish there was always an option to leave an instance easily as long as you are out of combat.

What I generally do is “leave the area” and go into the red zone. That will boot you out of the instance without logging out. However, this is almost impossible to do in the instance where you, Kasmeer and Marjory are checking out the wreck site because the only places in the red zone are over the edge, and Kasmeer keeps catching you. Many of the recent instances are in tight enough areas that there is no escape. For those you do have to log out to at least the character screen.

Rytlock Ritual End Fight

in Living World

Posted by: Lupini.6938

Lupini.6938

Something feels really off. In the previous episodes, your NPC friends have been relatively effective, and deal a reasonable amount of damage. This just isn’t balanced.

Is it do-able…yea. But it takes a kitten long time since Smoldur and Rytlock hit like newly spawned level 2’s instead of epic heroes. Me dealing with adds, totems, sparks, and menders…and then I check to see Barradin’s health and realize those two have been throwing cotton balls at the statue. Thank goodness for a longbow, I could start picking away at Barradin between it all. At least Rox is attentive to helping you rally.

I’d say just remove the orbs. Weak allies, Barradin’s attacks, fear totems, adds, having to take down the menders…and THEN an orb that can one shot you without warning if it spawns close. Just take out the stupid orbs and that would be enough. Or have the orbs in the achievement version of the instance. As is, the list of challenges that need to be dealt with is more in tune with a small group instance than something that should be solo-able for the personal story across professions and play styles.

Sidebar: IMHO, bringing the ADA into this conversation is a bit over the top.

Respectfully, I don’t think the aspect mechanics are as popular with the game population as they are with this forum population.

Outside of this forum, I hear a lot of less than stellar comments about the use of aspects. The players weren’t actually polled on increasing the use of aspects. To me it appears this mechanic was added to the general environment dependent on comments here in the forums. Most people come here to praise, and a very small percentage of the player population even bother with these forums. The rest of the time people just live with what they don’t like, because, yes, we ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND that the game can’t cater to everyone. We’re used to just living quietly with our difficulties and seeing those as additional challenges.

A few more seconds on the aspects…honestly, can those of you that say these jumps are relatively easy would have even noticed if the crystals lasted 20 instead of 15? If the jumps are already simple, then those folks shouldn’t even care if a few more seconds are added. It won’t affect your play at all.

Lupini.6938

My husband is pretty much done with GW2 due to the required use of the aspects. Like the OP, I forge on, although I also have his issues. It’s taken me a year of on/off training to just be able to use mesmer blink-type skills once in a while.

We ALL have VIMS to some degree, some of us are more sensitive. For example, dancers have to locate a spot and focus on that spot has they are doing spins (snapping their head around to look at the spot) to keep from getting motion sickness.

My perspective: up until LS: Season 2, much of the really challenging “jumping with weird movement” stuff has been in separate instances or jumping puzzles that are not part of the landscape. They are in special places where jumpers can go, but those of us that are twitch-movement challenged can avoid. Placing these aspects with timers on them on the general landscape is a divergence from that past format.

Basically, what I see happening is these situations are getting programmed WITH the idea that mesmers will help many of us do the content. That, in my mind, is an unacceptable way to create the content—falling back on one skill within a single profession to CYA.

I’m enjoying the story line, I love the game, I’m just not liking the trend in the new zone of making what will obviously be part of map completion achievements into aspect-dependent mini-jumping puzzles. At least with the previous content, if a vista or point had jumping involved, I could just take my time, stop and rest, and keep trying. It might be as simple as them including a slow and tedious path to a specific point that doesn’t need aspects, and then a quick and challenging path for those that like flitting. I’m ok taking a longer, more tedious path to a POI if I can have the satisfaction of doing it on my own without having to step away from the monitor while my stomach settles.

Talking to the Pale Tree [Spoilers ahead]

in Living World

Lupini.6938

At the very end of the episode, after the cinematic and your team starts planning their next move, Kasmeer expresses doubt that you would be able to talk directly to the Pale Tree.

Even if you AREN’T sylvari, your character will have already had a direct audience with the Pale Tree. Hell, that audience was expressly about an Elder Dragon. The Pale Tree knows you. She would know why you were calling.

Hell, the question should be, “Why WOULDN’T the Pale Tree talk to you?”

I thought it a bit odd too, but then, perhaps it’s a bit of a spoiler for anyone playing season 2 that hasn’t done the personal story line yet. “Let’s just make this conversation a bit fuzzy in case someone hasn’t finished the PS yet.”

While the locket may be important to the story line in the future due to its depiction of a particular someone, I think what some of you are missing for the current line is what was also happening at Fort Salma.

Both locations had strong magical items there…the locket in Timberline Falls (which the guard explains is moved on an irregular schedule to different locations for it’s protection), and then Marjorie tells us that some of the residents at Fort Salma had picked up magical items from the Krait tower and were keeping them at the fort.

That dragon is hungry, been resting a long time. He’s looking for any tidbits he can get. Those of you with legendary weapons had better watch out, you’ll be grabbed and pulled under while walking a garden path.

Trouble at Fort Salma.

Lupini.6938

I actually preferred it when Kas wasn’t there. Trying to get under her shield and then track the minions was annoying.

The minions spawn from three locations, and the spawn timing just cycles through the three. I found the one spawning near the entrance to the mine/cave to be easier to defend and get to the boss, plus the boss’ attacks don’t hit around that corner as much, fewer to dodge, no terrain edges to fall off. So, I just let the other two die when they spawned, stuck with my one minion, retreated to its spawn point to heal up while waiting for it to spawn, and finished it up. The boss takes a good deal of damage when the shield is down, so just timing your skills between what the minion needs and damage for the boss will work.

ArenaNet DID warn us that the new Living Story area would present challenges. I’m enjoying having to think a bit more to get this stuff finished.

How to kill Aerin

in Living World

Posted by: Lupini.6938

Lupini.6938

What I just found very confusing/annoying about this fight was the fact that you have all your companions who even warn you before the fight to protect the Master of Peace and take down Aerin as fast as possible, but once the fight starts they just kill pointless worms. They are doing no help for the actual fight, which is the main reason why it drags out so long. I mean after the first time playing it you know it’s basically gonna be a 1vs1 boss fight and you can skill accordingly, but on my first try I expected my companions to help out, like in any other mission. So I went damage/support. I agree it isn’t the hardest fight, I just didnt expect it to turn into a 1vs1 thing.

Agreed. It could be just you and Aerin—no worm adds, no companions—and it’s basically the same fight. I guess Braham is just eye candy.

Lupini.6938

Have done this on several characters solo. The first time, I really did over-think things.

You do need ranged skills, he just pops around too much to bother with melee.

You can use the ramp up, and just ignore what is going on on the floor. The first time I was checking on my companions, they don’t seem to drop any of their morale. Just let them handle the worms.

Just stay on the platforms accessible from the ramp. Move around on those areas as needed to avoid orange/red circles as much as possible. Find any skills you have that grant stability and use them religiously. Don’t dodge unless you know you have room. The circles have a few seconds before they blow up, just keep walking around and you can avoid them.

Try to use skills that have bleed/damage over time so they keep whittling him down if you need to take a break.

Occasionally, go stand behind a rock to get out of LOS when you need to heal up and skills are on cool down.

If you use the ramp-access areas, you’ll be in a good position for picking up fire crystals when his shield comes up. Just remember to be targeting him when you use the fire aspect to ram him, or it won’t remove the shield. You also will have fewer crystals to avoid in this area,so you aren’t fumbling to get your combat skills back.

It is a long-winded battle…just settle in and try to relax. If it still isn’t working for ya, just LFG for folks to help.

…At the very minimum, the health of all 6 bosses could have been displayed, giving the tiniest hint that there might be a reason why you might need to know it…

This simple display would probably make the greatest difference. Not only would it be a clue as to what should be happening (with the tooltip to bring down all the bosses within x time), it would allow players dropping in or moving between bosses to know where to go. If one is dropping like a rock, go to another.

The various world and guild missions that have multiple aspects to them have this function, it’s in the game system. It would be something they should be able to do fairly quickly to save this festival event.

Game Updates: Traits

Lupini.6938

Haven’t really had time to work with the traits yet, still acquiring them. However, with regard to the tasks to acquire the traits…

World boss events: what is the threshold for participating before you can/cannot complete the achievement? I’ve been at a few events where I thought I had participated well (did the pre-events, and the event, got some hits in on the boss), but didn’t receive the achievement for the trait. Sometimes I’m on a character that just doesn’t do well and is downed, or I’ll take time to rez other players or kill adds. This is promoting a style of people just hitting the boss as much as they can, and not really working like a team to rez others or get rid of adds, etc.

For the grand chest in the ship…the ship is just really annoying, and the angles make me a motion sick. While that may be whining, the mobs seem to be able to attack me through walls, but I can’t damage them. While it’s busy in there now, it does seem unfair that I can’t actually clear the area and move on when things behind me on the other side of a wall can start attacking me again. Occasionally I’ll do a push back on a mob, and it will get stuck in a wall, again—it can attack me, I can’t damage it. For whatever reason (maybe the angles of the walls and the “up” orientation of the mobs are at odds), the walls aren’t “solid.”

I was having the same problem as you for about 4 day untill I realised it wasnt going to fix it self. Went looking around for a answer and found this:
Close your game completely.
Browse your My Computer to: C:\Users\YourComputerUserName
Then in the window menus, click on “Tools” then “Folder Options…”
In the window that pops up, click the “View” tab
Select to “Show hidden files, folders and drives” and click ‘OK’ (attached image)
You should now see a folder in your file listing called “AppData”, open this folder
Inside that folder open the “Local” folder
Inside that folder open the “Temp” folder
You should now see a folder called “gw2cache-{1501A8C1-6AA1-1601-C2A8-0115A16A0116}” or something similar. Delete this gw2cache folder.
Load up your game normally and see if the issue is fixed.

That fixed it for me and i can now use the TP again. I hope this help anyone with the same problem!

This did help my problem. Not sure why I didn’t notice this post at first shrug

I think ArenaNet should make an INDIVIDUAL sticky of this procedure for this forum as a “having problems, first try this.” We shouldn’t have to hunt for a fix that seems for work for a high percentage of people. It is mentioned at the bottom of the BLTP “FAQ” post, but doesn’t give procedures for deleting the file. Not all players understand the procedure of deleting “cache” files from their game, and would be terrified to try it without steps given.

Come out, oh you necromancer lovers of pastels and bright colors! No longer be disenfranchised by the wearers of sickly greens and blacks!

Caereen likes to think of herself as an environmentalist…recycling things using organic techniques. She likes pretty colors, elegant clothes that are not rotting off her bark, and long walks along the beach at night.

ArenaNet,

You offer a big rotation of sales over the USA Thanksgiving day weekend. Some of us purchase gems in preparation for that sale. Then you start a give away based on the gems purchased 1 December through 31 December.

This is feeling like a prank. I know, free give-aways are, well, free. One shouldn’t complain about free stuff. The timing of this just feels mean for those of us that do purchase something at least each quarter or so, especially with all the sales the days just prior to 1 December.

Just think about the timing a bit more next give-away, please. Thanks for listening.

Hi there! My name is Boottspurr, and I don’t post in the forums very often but I’d just like to say a little something to everyone here in this matchup thread.

First off, the above sentiment is something that I can’t disagree with more. When ArenaNet set up WvW, they set it up as a match-up between 3 servers. If they wanted it to be a completely direct mano-à-mano fight, it would have been 2 servers pitted against each other every week, not 3. If they wanted it to be a FAIR fight between 3 servers, they would have somehow set it up so that each server has exactly the same amount of people playing at any given time. Instead, what we have is, more often than not, a fight between 3 servers with a fairly different level competitiveness between one another.

So, what does this mean? Does this mean that ArenaNet fully intended for each server to be an island and fight in such a way so that each contest is Pre-determined even before we step on the field? Why even show up in that case, what would be the point of fighting besides just having a few good fights – which could easily be had with some other game-type. I say NO. I say this is EXACTLY what ArenaNet intended when they set up WvW with 3 servers.

Now I’m going to try to explain why I think how this matchup went down makes a case for WvW Seasons to continue. First, a little background information:

I don’t speak for my entire server, but as an Ehmry Bay player since Beta, I’m not overly fond of Borlis Pass in WvW. We have history. I mean it’s not like I hate those guys, but if we can avoid placing below them in Season 1, we’re going to do whatever we can to make that happen. Currently we’re tied for 4th with them, but they’re going to win this week – so unless we expect to come in FIRST next week (which we don’t), we REALLY need to avoid placing third this week to have a chance of tying them.
Yak’s Bend is currently a few points behind SBI for second. They, obviously, want to come in second rather than 3rd. This means that they were going to have to win this week if they wanted a chance to even tie SBI for 2nd, but last time they faced them they lost. Something had to change.
Coming into the week, I believe one or two guilds on YB were talking to one on EB and brought up the idea of helping each other out. Nothing was decided, and come Reset night the idea was thrown out with the responsible party from YB coming to the Ehmry forum and letting them know there was going to be no formal pact – every server for themself – with the caviat that “We will be focusing SBI, however. You guys are savvy enough to work out how to make the most of that situation.” And that we did.

So during the week while YB focused SBI, Ehmry played their part – keeping our Home BL locked down as best we could and taking what we could get from SBI, while also taking just enough from YB without kitten ing them off. ONLY in the last couple of days has there been some serious collab between YB and EB, and ONLY because we’re soooo cloooose to 2nd. So why are they helping us get the 2nd rather than just being happy with their win? Because of next week.

SBI is against FA and DB next week, so that will be an interesting matchup. SBI will probably come in second, but anything can happen and might come in 1st (if they play it smart…). YB’s matchup is with EB and BP – THAT is where things get interesting. In order to secure their 2nd place finish for the Season, YB will likely have to place 1st. The best way to ensure this is the give EB a reason to try and beat BP rather than YB. Since EB now has a hope of tying BP, they’ve given us a reason to attack BP instead of YB.
So there’s the logic behind it all. It’s pretty straightforward. It’s not underhanded, it’s not deceitful, it’s just WvW. And SEASONS is what made this all possible. I really really like it.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: SBI should IN NO WAY feel humiliated about coming in 3rd this week. They’re just a victim of these circumstances. They have a right to feel like the 2v1 is unfair, but at the same time they also have a right to do the same thing to FA next week. Besides that, THEY could have been the ones to have an informal alliance with us this week, but I’m pretty sure they didn’t think this outcome was possible.

Thank you for your time.

TL;DR: There is a 2v1 going on, it’s super tactical and what I think WvW is supposed to be all about. SBI shouldn’t feel bad about what happened, they’re just a victim of the Season.

Best explanation of the situation I’ve read yet…and for the record, I got rolled by plenty of EB players during the week. It wasn’t all sharing cookies and picking flowers together. I run into EB tags, I assume they will try to take me out.

At the end of the day, I salute all the WvW players.

marjory and Kasmeers work relationship?

Jory doesn’t seem to have a thing for malibu mesmer barbie…

I find this opinion odd. It seems like some folks didn’t really pay attention to the cinematic at the end of the opening instance. After you kill the champ, and they are reviewing the events to that point (leading up to the decloaking of the tower), Marjory’s comments about Kasmeer’s talent are very “adoring” in tone. Kasmeer is even sort of embarrassed by Marjory’s comments. As a character in the scene, I thought “Should I leave you two alone for a bit?”

I think it’s Marjory that has a thing for Kasmeer, and Kasmeer knows, but hasn’t made her feelings known yet beyond that of them being good friends.

I also think there is going to be more depth and strength to Lady Kasmeer than we expect—at least, I’m hoping because I love it when a “dumb blonde” makes everyone regret having used that label.

I’m agreeing with the OP on this. The “find locations” across several zones with no clues is just making busy work. Some of these kriat historian locations are obvious, others are off in some cleft in a rock wall that make no sense.

To be honest, I’m getting a little tired of ArenaNet seeming to depend on Dulfy or others for guides. Achievement arch requirements aren’t clear. Sometimes you get a starter mission or in-game mail, but then you have to “discover” all the rest, usually just an entire zone as a location. It shouldn’t take a third party web site for many of us to go “Ah-ha, now I understand what is happening.” For instance, the “Toxic Spore Cleanser”—from the tool tip, it sure appears like I should have finished this one after just a few waves of mobs. But it’s never triggered. I have to go to an external site to figure out that despite the mobs having “Toxic” in their name, they aren’t toxic ENOUGH, and I have to find some other random toxic-er-than-average mob.

Just as we have tender spots and tough skin, I suspect that the same would be true of sylvari.
