I ran this for a few days, and I had the same issue as Lynnie. While I think there is certainly something great to this build, it will take some tinkering. (I’m not giving up on it, going to be testing some different armor combinations and moving a few trait points around.) I think the advice your initial post mentions to never leave Earth though, is a good way to breed lazy Elementalists. I spent 75% of my time there in combat, but once your conjures run out, I found that still retaining mastery over your weapons (Sc/D is my favorite ele combo as well), is still very much advised. And with Scepter autos being utter garbage, moving attunements is still something that needs to be done with this build. (Earth is still primary, dont get me wrong.)
That stuff being said!
Running this with a small group, I noticed two things.
1) The people we faced usually focused me first. They had a very unpleasant surprise when they realized that dying wasn’t something I wanted to do. Nor did easily. Took a lot of pressure off the others while I was able to tank a considerable amount of damage, while still doling out some damage of my own. Sure, I was almost “bait,” but we all have to fill a roll, right?
2) This build made soloing camps a lot easier. I can appreciate that.
Thanks again for posting this build, and I’ll also be working on refining and fine tuning it to my playstyle. Will post results at a later date!
True what you said. I played in a 3 man group using this build and everyone just go for ranger or ele. I was the tanker in the party, taking all damage while thief and warrior kill them, while do a kinda decent damage. For that role in group this build is awesome, even more if use conjure shield, but i was using hammer for CC’s.
I’m a D/D ele and I feel so tired to 1 vs 1 with warrior(good player). Can anyone teach me how to deal with them?
Good warriors are so tanky and can dish out high damage. What i usually do is:
Play defensively at start, trying to hit and keep some distance after do some hits so i can see which weapon sets are he using. If axe i do normal rotations and wait he use eviscerate to dodge, after that i know i have a 7~10 sec window to do some burst. Keep doing it untill he runs or die.
Gs warriors are not hard, just pay attention to HB and Whirlwind attack.
Most annoying to me is hammer and mace warriors, try to dodge their F1’s attack and hope for the best because you can’t stunbreak forever, since our stability is 60 sec cd traited. :/
I’m sorry you have had that experience, I personally haven’t had any issues with thief’s 1v1 unless they were condi and just kited the hell out of me.
However I must admit the low damage output can get quite aggravating.
Yea the sustain damage is kinda low and with few spike damages, which they can regenerate through stealth or kiting. The thief i fought were mainly S/D, the new meta. D/D were just fine, killed them with some pressure fight during 1 min or so. Just saying you can play this build, but other builds are just most effective.
To OP:
Been testing your build for 3~4 days and my personal thoughts are:
The high armor(3kish) with 17~20k hp doesn’t stop a thief from kill you when you can’t pressure him. The damage output is low compared to the other builds around. Like you could go D/D and dish out 3 times more damage while still tanky, yes you’d get critted but you’d pressure 3 times more which means they’d have to take a step back to heal/stealth or something.
So i think the build is not viable, specially in 1vX fights.
Anyways, thanks for the build post.
Have being fun with sony vegas and stuff. Hope everyone enjoys it. Yeah i know its not an optimal elementalist gameplay, but i am getting used to Ele again after a big break to play other classes. Thanks for watching.
The idea behind this build looks pretty solid, specially to fit my personal play style, which is always find outnumbered fights. I’ll definitely give a shot to this build this week and post feedback here once i am done.
Being testing condi builds variations for past weeks, incluiding yours Broski. And seems Blinding ashes build has the best damage output, because of +30% condi duration boost, while diamond skin is not much useful unless its a 1v1. Because in solo roam you rarely finds 1v1, usually 1v2~3 and with at least 1 player being power based he can get 2~3k down out of your hp and there it goes our diamond skin.
For now, blinding ashes is giving me better results.
Hi, i wanted to ask if anyone can tell me what is the best gold farm method post-patch?Since Champion train got nerfed and dungeons have a limited number of runs per day.
Thank you.
Bursty Eviscerate Build:
http://tinyurl.com/lz6kvzg
I was playing with new traits since patch was realized and this build really shine over the others.
It’s basically an Axe/Gs build for roaming but using the new trait “Burst Precision”, which gives 100% critical chance on burst skills.
I have been testing it and haven’t lost a 1v1 with it so far, with eviscerate always hitting up 7~10kish. Before patch i used get a little sad when eviscerate doesn’t crit and hit for 2k.
Also doing pretty well in outnumbered fights, picking the squishier target and bursting him down in no time, so i can take my own time to handle the tougher ones.
I have also pick Physical Training trait, which makes my bulls charge recharge faster, making it really good for more often hundred blades combo or to kite people/zerg.
I also use a Sigil of Battle in my second greatsword slot, couldn’t put it yet on calc.
Same here. Is it a bug or something?
Hi, everyone. I am here to post a post patch build which i made up.

I plan in release a video soon using this build.
Thanks very much.
Bursty Eviscerate Build:
(edited by Lynnie.7213)
I think rifle does more damage, but i still prefer the longbow. Because of AoE and CC(blind/immobilize).
Yeah, i still prefer 30 in defense. And i think as condi warrior we don’t need frenzy to condi burst, the cooldown is just too high. And no stability in your build, that looks bad against hammer warrior and necros.
Nice video overall. I’ll have to try that combo of skills next time I roam
Ty. I really enjoy that combo of skills while solo roaming, thinking is my best choice atm with everyone having stability the spectral wall doesn’t do much anymore.
Really enjoyed this video, was long but not boring at all. Very good!
Thanks everyone for the supportive words.
Great video quality and you seem like a good player, but the people you’re killing are downright awful. Was that guard at the beginning using only staff? And some of these guys don’t even heal.
I’ll try get better quality fights for next videos. This video i recorded in 1 day, so you can understand the lack of a good mix and skillful players.
Hi, i wanted to share my montage with you guys. Be nice, getting used to play necro again.
Dear, Anet if yours servers can’t handle that many players logged in WvW at same time, just don’t incentive a season 2. Because people can’t use any skill or do any action, like stomp or rezz.
So thank you for doing that to WvW players!
50 seconds seems okay, +/- the time i took on my engineer. Can condi warr handle 2 or 3 ppl in a fight or have to retreat?
From a build perspective, your skills are more single-target than multi target, although you do have some skills which can be used to hit several targets (Sw #1, LB #3, LB F1).
I am an average player, but the build I use is pretty good, borderline OP against most builds (condition/confusion). I win 80% of my duels thanks to it (but also suffer crushing defeats), and about 50% of my 1v2. So far, I’ve won only one 1v3. If you have good tactical skills and extended knowledge of your opponents’ classes / builds, then 1vX is definitely possible. Of course, one may always encounter great players as opponents, which can sometimes 1vX you and some mates…
Condition warriors usually have good mobility, because of abundant stability, as well Sw #2 and Bull’s Charge, traited with “Mobile Strikes” which remove immobilization. You can often get away from a fight, either because the opponent is too strong, or because you want to refresh some cool downs.
Give it a try in PvP first, to see if you like the gameplay?
Would you mind in share your own build, so i can test it out ?
The condition war is the better roamer. The hammer one is the better zerger.
I agree with that. Honestly, roaming a lot as a condition/confusion warrior, I have to say that the build is OP in regards of most opposing builds (although I’ve just started playing PU condition mesmer, and this one is even more absurd).
However, I do not think that taking a camp is that slow, as I believe it takes between 30 seconds to one minute to clean all mobs (but possibly more if the camp is buffed of defended by third-party adds). Basically:
- You start by activating the berserker stance, so as to gain adrenaline,
- You kite a bit around the first veteran scout, until all mobs come around (except of course for the second scout), attacking the scout with bow #2, #4, #5,
- You unleash the fire field of the bow on all mobs, then explode in it,
- You enter melee mode, activating stability to take on guards / dolyaks disabling strikes, then do the sword burst on the pack,
- You switch back to the bow and do another fire field / explosion – at this point, foes start to go down,
- You should always take out the two scouts first, then focus on one mob at a time, continuing with the guards, making sure to dodge disabling strikes and hit other mobs aside your target. When you see a mob healing, then interrupt it (using the shield or the bull’s rush). Count about 3 seconds between mob attacks, and watch for the supervisor big hammer attack.
Yesterday, I hid inside the bay, and managed to bring down the enemy lord at 10%. I could have taken the bay alone had not 3 players come around to check out the contest (I could even flee safely – thanks to the warrior insane mobility). Condition warriors do less damage at start, but once revved up, the damage is IMHO not inferior to a DPS, maybe even higher because applied more regularly (more useful skills, more toughness to stay at melee).
EDIT: Just made the test. Took me 50 seconds to clean all mobs of a simple camp (not counting actual capture), starting with no stacks of any kind.
50 seconds seems okay, +/- the time i took on my engineer. Can condi warr handle 2 or 3 ppl in a fight or have to retreat?
Neither one of them are fast at flipping camps or good at flipping camps. The Conditions are not fast in PVE-Filipping camps is PVE. The hammer is a slow har hitting weapon key word slow.
The condition war is the better roamer. Because its easyer to kill people with a condi war than it is to kill people with a hammer. The hammer one is the better zerger.
Option 3 GS- Mace/shield (Stance). Fast at flipping camps good at roaming.
GS – mace/shield or GS – axe/shied, can handle some 1v2,3, fights ? or more a 1v1 build?
Hi. I wanted to know which one is best for solo/duo roaming. Condition builds which seems to be more “tanky” in fights or hammer/Sw+Sh builds?
Which one is the best to fight up to 1v2-3 and flip camps fast enough?
Thanks to who can put an input in here.
I prefer d/d when solo roaming with the 25% movement increase while wielding daggers trait. I understand that’s only personal preference, but it’s just something to keep in mind incase you decide to try it.
Also, the best part about being a solo roaming Necro, the frequency of being attacked by thieves drops significantly :P.
Do you mind in share this dual dagger build? I saw a necro yesteday playing something like that and he just “tank” 5 ppl and still got away(okay ppl were bad ofc) but seems fun to try.
Thanks everyone for the answers.
Necro is just slow, so would be good to buy traveler runes and loses tons of condition damage?
And Torment sigil + Earth Sigil, they have different cooldowns or is just myth?
Hmm i don’t think necros are an easy target, usually i can tank more than guardians and damage more than condi engi. Yes, we are slow turtles, that must change if you can or don’t want afford the runes of traveler which have a huge impact in our condi dmg.
But we are not an easy target, unless we get outnumbered and immobilized forever.
Just my opinion.
30/30/0/0/10 Grenades w/Rampager’s will do the most damage that I’ve personally tested. Zerker will do close to Rampagers and plays well with bombs or rifle/sd or TK or grenades. Zerker builds will also do more DPS then Carrion/Dire/Rabid gear. Zerker Bombs is a very solid choice for DPS if you twist in your rifle and Pry Bar or Acid Bomb.
Blood~[/quote]
Would you mind in post this build trait choices + food used?
Time to take a break. Cya guys and ladies.
Forgot to paste these 2 as well.
New video added 06/19.
It’s just my personal opinion and not trying to be a party pooper, but with this amout of hp and toughness a warrior or thief can just melt you in no time, is just matter of wait the retaliation go off.
PS: Perma swift is always kitten good.
I have a question, drakeco. how you deal have condition damage classes? what’s your means to get rid of conditions stacked on you?
Oh sorry, my bad.
Well thats about 8 seconds retaliation on yourself. Thats pretty good actually.I still think scepter/focus and sword/shield is better though. You need scepter/focus for the immobilize (coordinate this with your team and it can win a teamfight) and the vulnerability stacks in this build. I prefer sword/shield over GS, because your effective (if enemies starts kiting) single target damage is much higher.
Moreover sword2 and shield5 is just too strong to ignore it. Blinking and getting people of ledges can also make or break a fight with a coordinated team.
Yeah, i need to agree with you. I’ve been testing this build with variations and sword/shield is better than GS, even with retaliation extended time. And i’m pretty much enjoying this build, my dmg got an increase of 10~15% and still same survavibility than my old bunker build, without say the vulnerability stack.
Good build man, you got my thumbs up!
PS.: Let me know about any variaton of it, so i can help to test it out in tourneys. i run quite a lot of tourney everyday. :P
Hey.
You cant count on a teammate stepping into GS4; that would totally cripple his movement/dodges, which is the best damage mitigation in the game. Same goes for yourself. You’re either on the targets face or you’re kiting. Standing in your GS symbol will never really happen long enough to make it count.
I tested this build with GS initially. Even damage wise its not that good, as enemies will kite you too much. They also can kite you with sword/shield, but due to the third sword auto you get way more damage out than with GS.
I meant retaliation combo, gs 4 > 3
I’ll definitly give it a shot, since i was thinking these days my bunker build for Tpvp was kinda overdated.
PS.: Wouldn’t be better switch one set of weapons for greatsword to benefit from that sexy +25% retaliation ?
New video added. Late 1st april!!!! \o/
They messed up the healingskill now with is bad, dont block incoming damage for 2sec even do it still say it should
I’m really feeling something is weird with my guardian after 26th patch, but i don’t know to say exactly what is. But i’m not so tanky anymore …
anyways, back to OP, great video!!!! you help up SUPER strong in that 1vX. very exciting fights and good utilization of your skills. that bit where you ressed your ally, right before he got stomped, then proceeded to take him down. oh mann.
looking forward to seeing more videos of yours!
Thanks man. Be sure will keep more videos coming in time i can get good footage to make it.
@akamon & CMF:
OMG stop you two, i’m feeling naked already. lol
Do you switch to retret when not in combat?
I do when my partner don’t have any swiftness in group to give. But when i’m solo, i just put staff and switch back to greatsword when spot someone.
Epic skills. Mind passing a build? I can see you have decent amount of healing power since your dodge roll heals over 1k.
Thanks man. I’m still working on build, i keep changing it, but when i find the balance, be sure i’ll post it here.
Well, breaking down the video I can see that he has a 72 sec cooldown on Virtue of Courage, which means he has 25 points in virtues (at 30 points the cooldown would be about 69 seconds).
Also he has a 28 second cooldown on Hold the line so he must have shout reduction. His binding blades was on a 24 second cooldown so he also has faster 2h weapons.
His blind did not cause vulnerability, but his virtue of justice did cause blind, so he has points into radiance.
He also recieved regen, protection, and aegis for reviving his downed warrior buddy, and the warrior recieved those as well so he has protective reviver. Also I think he has all rune’s of mercy because it looked like he revives others quick.
On using virtue of resolve he removed three conditions so we know he has absolute resolution.
His dodge roll healed for 1064, which is around 935 healing power and his HP is around 18015.
So we know he is somewhere around a
0/5/0/30/25
Two hand mastery
Superior Aria
Protective Reviver
Absolute Resolution
With 10 points to spare somewhere, but most likely in radiance and or valor? Maybe in Zeal for 10% to burning.935 Healing power
18015 Health
(Probably less base, since food and utility buffs are on)
So he must be sporting vitality/healing power gear as secondary stats, and a primary of probably power or toughness mix. Boon duration is another probable in his gear mix. He does not crit too much when fury is not active, so possible 5-10% crit chance. For weapons he for sure has at energy and on kill stack healing power sigil as his roll heals went up as he got more kills.
Just to let you know, you creepy me out with this stuff. LOL
Hey guys, i’m here to post my newest video, this time as guardian. Hope you all enjoy and take care.

It’s sad how play this bad is given a chance to do well because of the Signet.
You should try remembering your cooldowns before you Updraft. You often used Updraft with 2s remaining on Burning Speed which means you didn’t have the combo ready.
i’m accepting criticism, it will make me improve. thanks for your advice man.
It’s just a regular D/D PvP Video, hope yall enjoy.
Take Care.
Posting it because i loved this Wintersday event and want wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Same thing here, started this morning, Spvp is just unplayable right now. Anet do something…
Gosh and still none official response about this global error.
Same thing here!
I don’t know why i still bother do Tourneys, because people always get bugged on loading screen. Anet do something fast, otherwise your clients will drop number fast!
Hm i tested your build today and it work great on offensive aspect. But, don’t have any break stun, so you’re very fragile against warrior knockdowns +frenzy+hundred blades and Thiefs OP combo.
But on overall, yeah i definitely liked.
