Hi everyone! I am back to play my necro, since reaper specilization was showed i got all hyped and stuff like the most of you.

So tired of all these wvw videos, rangers are way better of in wvw since they can for ex. skip condition duration in spec and get that from food. I want too see more tpvp videos. And more longbow and greatsword ones for that matter, make more of them so anet dont think we all use conditions and balance arond it like they do atm.

I get what you mean, but its a personal preference to use power/burst builds or conditions.

If u ever want to change ur build and try something deferent but still every interesting to play with , try this build:

Dire weapon’s + set and apotechary accesory +back , instead of Sharpened Edges use Primal Reflexes for more evade’s.Shared Anguish have to long cd , so instead of that use Vigorous Reneval , also for more evade’s.A/T switch with S/D , for more mobility and survability.10 point’s in Marksmanship because of Keen Edge + 10% condi duration.For sigil’s : S/D Geomancy and Hydromancy , SB Geomancy and Agony , for Rune’s :Undead or Traveler depend’s on how much money u have.I also wouldnt use 3 trap’s , i would change Viper’s Nest with Signet of the Wild.

Btw ur build is good , but this build will give u something that ur build doesnt have , better survability and u will be able to do 1vs2 1vs3 1vsX when u know how to play with it.

I personally don’t like shortbow for WvW, because enemy will be always facing me and i won’t be able to make him bleed with SB #1.
I don’t think is worth take Apothecary gear for signet of wild only.

I would say though there was a noticable lack of “good” fights in there… By which I mean, after the 3rd or 4th clip of you wiping out someone in a single condi burst it gets a little samey. Killing people who are clearly lacking condition removal with a full condition build is amusing but not all that impressive to watch.

There was also a noticable lack of condition builds fight against you, and since like most trap builds you only had EB to cleanse you a strong condition oppenent would be your greatest challenge, and thus more interesting to see how you appraoch / deal with it, rather than (as I said above) slaughting people your build clearly beats.

Still.. I don’t meam to sound negative.. I actually was quite impressed by how you move / play, so I am sure you’re capable of going up against better opponents.. would just have been nice to see it

Yeah conditions can be one of the greatest threats to my build/gameplay style. I understand as a constructive criticism, but i don’t find much condition enemies that’s why i don’t have much footage with that. But i’ll try to get more condition fights into next video.

I’ll just give my personal thoughts about your build:

- You don’t need Viper’s Nest, you have SB #2 and Spiders poison, so is pretty much near perma poison. I’d swap it for Frost Trap, this will allow you to kite even better and zone out some thiefs along with other traps.

- You don’t have a mobility weapon, i’d swap your axe for sword since your SB is more than enough to apply bleed.

- And you have perma weakness on your Axe #3.

What Xavi said. Pve = Zerk.

Example:

Your Flame Trap does 6 sec burning hitting 4380 every 15 sec on 5 targets.
Sword auto atk on berserker build does the same damage on 3 targets in 1.5 sec.

I think its not viable, but you should play with what makes you have fun.

I can atest that runes of grove is amazing for the root which only is removed when the vines are destroyed. The enemy take ages to realize that.

And gameplay using this build:

Use sigil of doom, so you can counter a bit his signet heal. Dodge pin down, don’t stay in hsi combustive shot area, even if that means decap your point. Time your shocking aura to counter his axe combo.

Take advantage when he has poison on him, take this time to apply pressure.

If its a PU Condition mesmer, i’d try to apply burning and bleed on him since mesmer condition cleanse is poor and when i see a breach try to LF + Burning Speed + Fire Grab for some burst, usually when he is at 50% hp +/-.

Never ever hit him when he is blocking to apply torment and if needed LoS his clones or channeling skills around walls, pillars, rocks.

So what exactly was this video meant to show?… You even declared yourself these are not optimal challengers… Aka complete noobs… hell look at the Powermancer focus your wolf for half a century…. A ranger can take on inexperienced players with little to no effort especially with the Flavour of the month Condition Cheese build+Full stacks but when matched against someone that actually knows what they’re doing, the Ranger comes into its own scale of underpowered.. Yes. We don’t lack mobility but I can bet any amount of money a good player knows you can lock down a ranger easier than anything, not to mention a large majority of the other classes can match or beat us when it comes to mobility.

Personally, if you were trying to say that rangers are equal to the other classes. Find some experienced Veterans of the other classes and go up against them with their current Meta builds…

That’s my next step. This video was just to make fun of stuffs, is a really relaxed stuff, i don’t know why people everything so serious, but its up to each person.

Next video will be against “real” challengers and meta builds, even against Youtubers / streamers.

That entire video he had full stacks of condi, guard kill buffs, and food buffs. Not a single person he fought in that vid had a single buff on them.

Killing noobs in WvW doesn’t show anything about it being good. Just means you can kill people who probably spend more time AAing a npc then actually fighting other players

And that is one of things i am pointing out in the video.

I recently find out the reason why rangers sucks, why everyone sick them first, why people doesn’t want ranger in their groups and why we have lots of QQ posts on forum about this.

Check out Broski condition build on youtube, he has some pretty innovating stuff going on there.

- Get Fire Trap
- Troll Unguent(preference because can negate almost all enemy damage for being a kinda of regeneration heal)
- Definitely an active stun breaker
- Swap that warhorn for a dagger to get access to evade, cripple, extra bleeds and poison. You don’t need Fury because with 45% crit chance you can crit every 2 sec and active your sigil.

Ranger so far is the most fun class to me. Meele weapons make you able to 1v3~4, which is fun.
Longbow makes you laugh when you 10k a thief.

Being an Elementalist is GREAT!
This is just my personal opinion, okay?!

PVE: We have the biggest DPS, a lil squishy but the dps compensate that. Best class for dungeons together with warriors.

WvW: Staff zerk bomber in zergs is just a floor full of bags.
Solo Roaming as D/D Ele is nice, one of the best classes too, have dps, survivability, mobility.
Havoc is great too, you can either be the dps in group or the fight initiator. Sharing might, protection and healing for a good amount.

What Quakeman said : for D/D i think you should go soldier/knight mix or you can go full zerk and try to put a burst build together.

Burning Speed + Lightining Flash + Fire Grab on them and hope for 10~15k? I don’t know.

Yeah, Ele is rather squishy compared to those classes, but the dps is great. So in PVE faster you kill things you won’t have to worry about “tank” mobs.

I recommend you check this post, there have builds, rotation skills and tips. Go for staff build, it rocks in pve!

I think the best thing you could do is find your role in pvp, get a good build for that role and practice a lot. Rangers need the double effort to be as good as the other classes and sometimes isn’t enough.

If you like to be a Bunker and hold the capped point no matter what, do your search on builds and practice a lot.

If you like to burn people down, go for a sniper sorta of build.

If you like to be support and etc …

Must practice a lot, find your role, get a build and practice rotations on dummies for hours untill you get muscular memory then go Duels and then go PvP. That way you won’t get all depressive.

Because usually rangers use bows and fast meele weapons, like daggers. Its the way it is.

Well after reading Lynnies comment I sat back and realized that I really hadn’t done much solo roaming with it since I mostly roll with 5-10 people. So I jump on and roamed for a day or two and….yah I see your point, I would take my zerker dd build for roaming over this.

I agree swapping attunements is a good practice but when you are playing the “bait” as Nabarue said I still think you should stay in earth.

Yea, the build is good, just not so good to solo.
But i’d really take it to play in organized group to fill guardian role, maybe using some mix of clerics and conjured shield.

That seems op, 6 sec invulnerabilty every 1 min, projectile reflect, dazes, blocks.

This issue is being more frequent to me in past weeks. I don’t know if it is my connection fault, gw2 servers fault or just the glitch is growing stronger.

Definitely Stone Splinters.
You get +100 toughness for put 2 points into earth magic line, you get a passive trait which gives you +120 toughness while on earth attunement and +10% damage while under 600 range from your target, which you’ll always be because you are using D/D.

So +220 toughness and 10% damage VS 1 sec burning with 20% chance to trigger and +10% damage ONLY on fire attunement.

Yes, you get +100 power for put 2 points into fire magic line, but armor is just better.
