Just enjoying the view from the top of mountain at Ehmry Bay.
I may be called elitist, but please, condition for T4’s. Even after the recent change, everytime i pug with a power or mixed group we usually fail or struggle a lot in some parts. Idk if its just my bad luck with players that aren’t that experienced.
But when i get on a condition only group … kitten ! I seems like i am doing old days CoF P1s.
Hey, man. I’ve a build that work for me ever since i made it and is still doing great. I’ll be updating the build in the next weeks once i get others stuffs done first.
Build – http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Druid_-_Shout_Trooper_Roamer
Gameplay WvW – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3ZkPJSSBRc
Talking by my own experience: condi druid can work well in Spvp but you gotta know what you are doing, otherwise you are going to get destroyed.
In WvW it work really well, talking from roaming perspective, not zerging since i don’t do much of those. For roaming i’d drop the shortbow for sword and dagger, though.
Carrion equips may work, but are not optimal for sure.
Thanks for watching.
Hello ranger/druid community
I play a lot of sPvP, and you guys always manage to immobilize me and pump my face full of blue beams and arrows.
Please give me advice on how to beat you guys, (avoiding big skills, combos to watch for)
This is NOT a nerf ranger thread, but rather just one to find out weaknesses I might be able to play around and exploit.
Have A Nice Day/Night!
Never! I’ll never betray our profession and giveaway our secrets which will lead to our defeat. Never! xD
Being serious now, i don’t think there is much to be avoided when a ranger uses staff, the auto attack is the only dmg source and it will keep ticking along you keep getting hitted.
On other hand, if they use Longbow you want avoid the skill #4 that will knock you back and proc the ancient seeds trait, that applies immobilize.
If you get CCed anytime, you’ll get immobilized right after, unless the trait is in cooldown.
Now useful tips to kill a druid: when they go Celestial Avatar, CC the hell out of them and try to bait stunbreaks.
Pve, fractals, dungeons: Pretty good and you are desireable by groups.
WvW Zerg: Who doesn’t want a powerfull healer?! xD
WvW Roaming: Strong in both condition and power builds if you know what you doing and your limitations.
PvP: Also strong, specially if you are experienced with team support and can hold your own in 1vX, in case you have to hold home or decap/stale on far.
Interesting stuff that’s good for me to know too!
I was doing only PvP, but I think I may start switching over to more PvE since I don’t have the patience for PvP like I once had.
Having never done high-end fractals or raiding what makes condi better than power-based play?
Condition is better for prolonged fights when the mob/boss have high health and/or high toughness, which is the case of t4 fractals. And dps-wise, druid condi vs power, the condition build is slightly better dps.
The most fun match i’ve had in this season.
^ that!
Except if you are planning on doing T4 fractals. It just take so much longer with power builds. So much loooooongeeeer. For pugs, at least. But then again, it takes so much longer because 4 other people are power, too.
Ranger’s job is to support only. Both in offense and defense.Let’s say your heals will allow the pug to stay in combat twice as often. That’s a very exaggerated but theoretical 50% damage increase that would make your pug much faster than 5K personal DPS.
Again – completely useless for experienced runs but a life-changer for pugs.
True. I think he should play whatever he enjoys the most. Both builds will support your party just fine.
He actually got me to watch his stream with this post for about 1 hour and i followed him on twitch. The guy knows how to play!
For a brief explanation:
Condi – highest DPS support
Power – best utility support
Here’s the thing. If you’re going Power (cleric / zealot / magi / berserker…) than your group will definitely have much easier time beating the content. If your group is made of pure elitists than going power is a waste of time since they don’t need heals.
If you’re playing condi – you’ll fail the difficult content 90% of the time, but you can boast to people that you were playing meta and they suck (so much win, right… ?).The honest truth is that pugs are bad. They really are. Most of the time they’ll just come without a slightest clue expecting to beat Sebetha (3rd boss of 1st raid wing) with a power of friendship alone.
Meta is a lie. While condi is better for elite content, it’s far worse at casual pugging. Power is much more versatile and can adapt to a lot more situations.
So the answer for the end of the day?
Stick to whatever makes your game enjoyable (be it condi or power) but adapt your traits and utilities according to your party and always bring Frost Spotter to your party alongside with Grace of the land (druid) trait.
That’s it. Druid is not brought into content for personal DPS but for solely for these buffs.
^ that!
Except if you are planning on doing T4 fractals. It just take so much longer with power builds. So much loooooongeeeer. For pugs, at least.
So I just unlocked my full Druid elite spec and I’d like to get some opinions. Right now I have him set as a condi Druid using A/T and SB. Is there a vast difference in performance going power over condi? I’m looking for a good pve/fractal/raid build (if I can ever get into a raid
). So any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
If you care strictly to dps, condition is stronger than power as druid. But for the condition build achieve its full damage you must be sure the target will stay on your fire fields and stuff. Both are fun builds, both are well accepted. Just play which one you like the most.
Probably the build i crafted for roaming. The bleed is probably coming from the CC > immobilize trait (ancient seeds). You can find a video and written guide here:

“Crazy hints of speed” and stealth every 5 sec and traps is clearly traps + rune of the trapper. I don’t know why but I don’t like you for some reason.
Can’t please everyone.

This is what you are looking for. The video guide i’ve made it pretty complete in all aspects but if you rather read than watch there has a written guide on metabattle as well.
For havoc i’d suggest swap the greatsword for longbow since you’ll want to stay from max range damaging and healing.

The old build may work pretty well but you’ll miss out a lot survivability. You gonna have to play smart with your lb stealth and stuff.
About prolonged fights you don’t want that. You want kill the target you pick first as quick as possible and move to the next one. The longer the fight, higher is your chance of losing because of lack of sustain.
I probably would go with something like this:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQNBjYD7kQFoVQslFwhFgqFs8HYN9rawOY51lBCAwn126dtEnnG-TVCFABE8AAuSJIAXAga2fYhjAQhq/wwBBAJlfppbgUAmLMC-w
Almost the exact same build that I play, however, I find myself having to use Steady Aim and Lead the Wind instead of Moment of Clarity and Remorseless because of the amount of stability spam in the game. Good players on proper “meta” builds will for the most part roll over you unless you have good backup teammates.
For the most part though, in my experience, Druid builds which use staff will be much more successful in their fights as reflects are far too common these days. But as an alternative build, it’s pretty decent I have to admit.
Nice tip on the Moment of Clarity + Remorseless pet nuke btw, that didn’t occur to me.
Anyways, gratz on Legendary.
That is exactly what is happening to me. I am testing his build, which is pretty solid btw, but when facing meta builds the stability spam is too strong. If i don’t have my team to back me up i am pretty sure dead. And i don’t know if its only me but its harder to solo defend your home point in this build, ofc we must take in consideration that i only played it for a couple hours, so not that used to the build yet.
Gratz on Legendary, OP!
Depends on weapon you are using, like our friend above stated.
Ranger/Druid is awesome in every game mode. Druids are a must in raids, they perfom well in Fractals, specially high levels, its great in Spvp and even better in WvW with all the min-max status and foods.
Go for it, mate!
I don’t really have issues with roamer revs unless i get really outplayed. But if in same skill level we have all the tools to counter them, in power or condi builds.
As condi i usually dps them and when their hp hits 50% i stack poison on them and wait for their “panic” heal. The moment they pop the second part of theirs heal i simply walk away and wait its effect end, then procceed for more dps.
As power i usually dps them and stay aware for unrelenting assault. The moment they use it i evade or use blocks or evasion skills. I also abuse my mobility to counter theirs, which is only shiro’s teleport. Then watch out for their heals and stop dps and make your pet stop dps while its active.
Thx for the tips..well guess I really get outplayed by some of them, they all sport illustrious/exalted legend and plat/silver wvw rank
I play power/heal beastmastery
-zerker bow + zealot sword/dagger
-some zealot gear, crusader amulet, cele gear
-around 2.1k power, 40%+ crit chance and 80% crit dmgNot all revs ar hard..but of the roamer ones, they’ll power shiro/herald sword/shield/staff and most use the glint heal during the smokescale UA making it impossible to stop attacking
Idk how much armor you got but try to get it at 2700 at least. Its kinda of a sweet spot for roamers.
About rev’s heal, you really must pay attention to his bar and when you see he pop the 2nd part of his heal, call back your pet and completly stop attack for the heal duration. I know it may be hard at first but you’ll get the practice of it with time. xD
Here is a video of mine fighting a Rev, he is using hammer but you can see the part where he tries to heal but i completly stop attack him and he only healed for 5% of his hp. After that he has nothing else to do.

Agree with you. But pugs only want 1 druid in raid, everytime. Only time you’ll get to run 2 druids is in an organized or semi-organized one.
What can we do to change this mentality?
I don’t know. Wish i could answer you that. I love playing my ranger/druid but people are kinda toxic about it and hating. >_<
#Lovetodruids
Hey, guys. I am just getting my youtube channel active again with GW2 content after a couple months break and thought to post this link here of druid gameplay.
If you don’t love it by now, nothing will make up your mind.
But i do like rangers because i can dish out damage while able to support and be a super troll! xD
CondiDruid in raids are very niche. To get to run that you probably have to know the people you raid with? Pugs will more likely ask you for reaper.
Not necessarily, the best team composition for raids at this moment is a 4-4-2 composition. The first two subgroups have a PS warrior a druid and 2 DPS/utility classes. The 3rd subgroup is the chrono with a revenant.
So to best composition already requires 2 druids. Why 2 druids? Well druid boost the DPS of your subgroup hugely with buffs like Spotter, Frost Spirit, Glyph of Empowerment, Grace of the Land. Even if 2 druids result in overhealing it is worth taking with you.
In wing 1 the healing that is required is not that huge so it is perfectly fine to bring a more healing orientated druid and a condi druid instead of 2 healing orientated druids. This will still give your team all the buffs, does good dps considering it is a druid and healing.
So aslong as you don’t have 2 druids taking a condi druid is better overall dps then adding a condi reaper.
If you play with a 7-2-1 or similar where you are the only druid i wouldn’t recommend using condi druid though it is easily doable on a condi druid aswell and still being able to heal the team up. Though it requires skill of the druid, but also skill of you group which is not always the case.
Agree with you. But pugs only want 1 druid in raid, everytime. Only time you’ll get to run 2 druids is in an organized or semi-organized one.
What you taking about? Zerk Longbow is super strong in WvW. In pve i’d rather run condition, though.

You are expected to be a Druid, but if you run core ranger you should be fine. Specially if running condition, since core ranger has a 5k +/- better dps than condidruid, but lacks on party buffs/heals. I run core condi ranger in pve since i am mainly solo and stuff.
For fractals, druid anyday! The buffs and heal you provide along with your dps is to valuable. Only scenario where i see running ranger would be viable is if you already have a druid in your group and you are running A/T condi, then ranger has a lil bit more dps. But of course if the other druid is good at his job of keep people healed and buffed.
I run condi druid axe/torch and equip shortbow whenever i can’t meele a boss or the group decide to kite instead. Its really fun and successful and works even better with pugs, because you can heal them up and etc …
Hey, guys. I am recently coming back to GW2 after a couple months break and thought share it with you guys.
I’ve a channel that has lots of GW2 content and its about to get more, way more!
The channel is super active and is getting several videos online per week. If you want come by and check it out, will be much appreciated!
I have been looking this thread for the past days and thought to pitch in.
As both druid and warrior WvW roaming player, i must stay honest from the begin:
You will not kill a good druid with a good build and will mostly likely lose the fight or it will get reseted.
Now that we took that truth off our way, i can give some tips on this battle, but i guess most of them already got covered above.
1- Use a ranged weapon or you’ll get endless kited. Mace #2/Shield #5 are not enough to hold your own and close the gap.
2- If you have some nice AoE damage, try to hit the pet at same time, most of times, whenever you can. If you notice the druid is running a super tanky build which doesn’t harm you at all, then get pet’s target and kill it, forget about the druid at first.
3- When they enter in Celestial Avatar and start to channel, either the heal or the immobilize skill, stun/daze them! That is the moment they are most vulnerable and are using their ultimate resources. That is your opening!
4- Never fight on druid’s terms. If he swap to bristleback and keep using it and kiting around the pet so you get hit by every single F2 he uses from time to time, just walk away or find cover and let him come at you.
I guess that is the best you can do when fighting a druid.
Some footage i had here in my hard drive that was recorded before the balance patch.
Hi, guys. I came today to show one of the fun weekends i had dueling a fellow dragonhunter. Hope you enjoy!
Hey, guys. Have been a while but here i come with a new video. Hope it is enjoyable and thanks for watching.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3XpxrnyeLs
1- Dodge or outrange the shatters.
2- Use your celestial avatar #2 wisely.
3- if they start to reset the fight and coming back for you, just walk away.
Hey, guys. Decided to make a “fun” video this time, continuing one of my previous saga. Hope you enjoy!
I am down for it, as condi player. Never tanked but i could try if the spot is not filled by then.
Tip: make a spreadsheet, so people can fill their names on specific roles for a better organization and get at least 1 or 2 spares, in case someone miss it. Or just not familiar with the mechanics resulting in the whole raid fail over and over.

Hi. I’ve been working on this for quite some time and finally i was able to present my new Druid Build: The Shout Trooper! I’ve been testing this for weeks and having a blast!!! Try it out yourself, please.
Hope it was helpful and fun to watch, thanks!
Hey, guys. Ever since i released a updated build about my chill reaper in my channel that uses trailblazer’s items, i got a lot of players asking me how to make them. So i decided to make a quick video about it and maybe help some people out. Thanks for watching.
As necro being my main since forever and raiding since HoT release i’d say make a staff ele. Its more versatile and is welcome/needed in every boss encounter, while necros can be replaced by others stuffs, eles are essential.
In gorseval you want 1 or 2 to clear orbs, in sabetha also 2+ for cannons or kiting flame shots whatever the name of that thing. And VG anything will work, so doesn’t matter.
You have better chances to find a group and fill spots using an ele, but necros are super strong, though.
Nice Vid Donee, very close to my build.
Thanks.
It’s a very fun build to play!
I really enjoyed it, man. Even drop a comment on YT. Hope to see more in the future!
Hi, guys. I am currently working in update all the builds i have posted, so this is one of them. A 10k damage power greatsword reaper build for spvp. I used it back in BWE’s and it was super fun. Thanks for spending time reading and maybe watching it.
Same here. This started today for me. Now i can’t play any game mode because i lag for 5~10 secs constantly and eventually get disconnected.
C. avatar #2 for condi cleanse and stomp/rezz with the blind it applies when seed “explode”
C. Avatar #3 for stop rezz on enemies.
C. avatar #5 in mid of teamfight to get everyone slowed and followed by immobilize, so your team can dish out a ton of damage with almost none resistance from the enemy.
Finishers on Smokescale’s F2 skill for stealth: C. avatar #3, staff #3, GS# 3, resulting on an easy stomp, disengage or just to buy sometime and get some cooldowns off.
Those are the ones i can remember right now, but pretty valuable when you remember to use then. They are the difference from winning or losing an outnumbered fight.
Hey, guys. I was waiting the 01/26 patch hit to update my chillormancer build that i used in BWE’s. Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching.
And here is a build link for those who just want check it out: http://goo.gl/Vwp7md

Reaper master race? Let’s all gather up and laugh at revs/druids? Jokes apart, i am pretty happy with the changes. #Geelieve
