This video ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rp0hib6Rm9U&feature=youtu.be ) is all the reasons any Dev should need to realise WvW needs a major fix/rework to actually keep people interested and playing WvW.
9 months after release we’re still suffering with ridiculous skill activation times, random lag spikes and DC’s of multiple players at exactly the same time.
In conclusion – A massive part of the game isn’t working properly, it should be fixed well ahead of adding trivial items like supply traps.
Great reset to Dz and RoS, was definitely hard for my roaming group to actually do much roaming! If anyone is looking for some duels or possibly small team fights this week feel free to /whisper me.
I’ve found some large group of player a in Blacktide but they all are in WvW le Southsun.
It will be to do some story quests and event with other persons
I do quite a lot of guesting to Deso, they seem to have a massive PVE population!
But still +1 for Gunnar’s great community here.
My guilds been doing this for quite a while on a weekly basis,
each player deposits 1g for a ticket (max1) and 20% of the prize fund goes towards guild savings, its quite fun
Here’s another +1 for Gunnar’s, we have a great community and many decent guilds.
I’d suggest guesting around the medium population servers and finding the one you prefer

I know NA have this “Fight Club” setup where they gather on a specific time and duel and do small scale battles. Maybe set something similar up yourself?

Had a pretty funny meeting with a Karka and a Pig from [III] RoS guild earlier, very nice of VcY and RiOT to leave me alive as I danced with them! /salute.
One of my guildies is going for the same weapon, he’s currently farmed sparks for 2 days and only got one lodestone.. Orrian jewelry boxes are probably much faster.
The cleansing event (spiders repeatedly kittening Jonez) should be removed in my opinion, we already have a lengthy quest chain to get to the temple and killing Grenth’s priest isn’t exactly easy.
Devs, how are we meant to do this event? I’ve been trying to uncontest the cathedral of silence for around a week now on multiple EU servers.
Either someone doesn’t know how to do the actual first capture event and pulls mobs straight to the keeper jonez NPC and instant fail.
OR we complete this first capture event and fail on the help keeper jonez cleanse the temple event, 2 champion spiders 5+ veterans and around 20? normal risen spider mobs are ridiculous when its just 10 people doing the event, you can imagine the amount of pulls and immobilizes on us!
Seriously this event needs a massive overhaul Anet.
Since the big patch 30th of last month myself and a lot of guildies have been rubberbanding like kitten, frequent DC’s, massive skill lag and being unable to connect to WvW have been an issue too.
I swapped a few pieces of armor, didn’t need to really as my build didn’t even use 30 in water.. now have about 600 healing power and tons more toughness,
decided to use my ele for zerg fighting only so a total change of playstyle really.
Mesmer is currently my favourite for roaming and small group play.
I used to struggle to beat mesmer often, the best advice I can give is to make one and learn skill animations and playstyle.
Other then that clones don’t dodge, strafe, weapon swap or use long skill animations.
Depends what for, I use GS/S+S Mesmer for small group/solo roaming and D/D Elementalist for bigger group play/Commanding.
Both work great in their separate roles for my play style.
Great reset again from a small guild groups PoV [NOX] had a 4 man group roaming around taking camps, contesting places and cutting off reinforcements for a fair while.
Had some nice fights with [WAR].. beat more then our numbers a few times, I think they got annoyed and called 20 people to hunt us after that!

When I haven’t got guildies online to WvW with I quite often pick up my mesmer, go to an enemy borderlands, solo a supply camp and wait for enemies to come
Taking out dolyaks is always useful to your server too.
We’ve changed our weekly events around now, our WvW event now moved to cover server Reset and added a Spvp event! starting off casually we intend to build Tournament teams in the not so distant future.
Here at [NOX] we also have WvW contests with gold prizes and weekly Lottery draws!
Mesmer’s are pretty much doomed to run slowly a fair portion of the time.. -_-
I find running in WvW with a guildy works great for timing swiftness and stealths.
The upscaled arrow is a good thing, most of the time it makes an easy kill for the predator.. you can’t say you’ve never focused a ‘green arrow’ player OP.
Also it gives the upscaled guy a little baptism by fire of WvW, making them a better player in the end.
It does seem pretty ridiculous to call for this to be removed, what’s your reasoning behind this OP?
Most days I end up in a party with enemy players to set up duels, talk about builds or even to say GG!
Its a decent feature and should stay.

/disagree to the 6+ people it took to kill me in the end – a [NOX] Norn Mesmer.
There is a difference of one objective between AS/WSR territory that is owned by GH, that doesn’t really spell focus. You will see what you want to see.
Staying in same BL all day long either to keep your territory or to take new one is focus but for different reason but you also will see what you want to see.
If you had a T3 keep in GH borderlands wouldn’t you make an effort to defend it after all the hard work that’s gone into taking/upgrading it?
That isn’t focus, its just common sense.
Anyway, I’ve been having some great small scale fights in AS borderlands lately, that’ll keep me and [NOX] coming back for more, /salute.
pretty simple keybindings for me, felt like I had been living in the dark age before I changed them!
Dodge – mouse 4 (thumb) Elite – mouse 5 (thumb) Heal – v, skill 8 – e, skill 9 (blink or lightning flash) -q.
wondering what to set skill 7 as though.
Great reset from my small groups PoV, its been a while since we could roam without meeting ‘the blob’ if any WSR/AS guilds would like some small scale duels please /w me.
I think the fastest way to level all professions is to buy the components and discover the items but it is expensive, just gather everything possible, what your not using you can always sell on the trading post.
Also there’s some great guides if you google the profession of choice.
Hey and welcome to GuildWars2 Are you on an NA or EU server? unfortunately NA and EU can’t party up.
Party size is always 5 people, depending on which server you are on you may find the starting areas quite quiet as most people are on high end things at the moment.
Bunker eles survive with numerous heals, Regen, plentiful Boons and a ton of Condition Cleansing.
A lot of damage is evaded by dodge rolling often with perma Vigor and triggers the Trait Evasive Arcana for each attunement. (10sec cooldown for each seperate attunement)
But yes, most fights are painfully long and decent players will CC at the right times and destroy you quickly, I find high toughness hybrid builds to work much better.
I think the RTL nerf isn’t that bad, just pick your fights better and only use it to engage.
I roam with a Mesmer friend all the time, we stealth in and RTL barely gets used.
Everytime I cross an Elementalist in WvW it’s the freaking same thing : Tanking 10 of us & then running away while killing 2 – 3 of us (full exotic, good players, not casual afk players looking at the birds).
For a start a Bunker ele can’t tank even 5 people – even a very good one wouldn’t seriously try to fight 10 people, secondly 1 good player would know how to counter a D/D ele, thirdly a bunker ele does very little damage.. are you sure the 2-3 players that died weren’t level 1 and AFK?
In tier 2 the skill lag is to the point where I can’t even change attunements on my ele in some fights. And before someone says it has anything to do with my computer and settings, I have a gtx 670/i5 3570k/8gb ram with all of the character settings on their lowest.
If it wasn’t Anet’s problem, I’d be fine.
Now, T5. I was in T1 and never had issues in the larger fights. I moved to a lower tier because of queue times.
This is an issue in T7 EU. I can’t comment on T1 but in 30v30ish fights skill lag is ridiculous.
A few weeks ago there was a huge fight at Hills on a BL map with 40+ on either side, was struggling to activate skills up near Garrison!
Just had an awesome fight at RoS Briar.. 2 guildies, couple pugs and myself managed to wipe a RoS force twice our size
To the [Grrr] commander I gave a dirt nap to – I think you may need a tankier build! also thanks for getting me to rank 21.
My Mesmer isn’t uplevelled, naked or that glassy.. and was still hit for 11k with a backstab.
Nobody can say they can actually defend against an attack that you have no idea is coming.
Also I am levelling a thief (not for WvW use) to get to know the skill animations ect, I still don’t see how it’ll help against the original burst damage though.
@NinjaEd – I never said D/D ele was balanced. I’ll be the first to admit ele healing needs a substantial nerf.
Your slow as kitten warrior probably has a great deal more toughness then most caster classes, also I have 1.4k hours on my account, most of that spent in WvW.. I don’t need to L2P.
Just a little story on behalf of my Mesmer, been killed 4 times by Thieves in WvW today.
One of them even did an 11k ‘Backstab’ to me! pair this with ‘Basilisk Venom’ and ‘Heartseeker’ and thats one very dead Mesmer.
My question to the Dev’s – How in holy kittens name can a class do that kind of damage and then go invisible?!
Its just ridiculous! I’m talking WvW here, not Spvp where I understand they aren’t that useful.
It actually took 5 guildies and myself to almost get a very good Thief downed the other night, the ‘Revealed’ debuff does nothing to good Thieves, we were on voice comms organizing Stuns and Knockdowns at appropriate times which he just used ‘Shadow step’ and various other skills to get out of and we still didn’t manage to actually finish the fight.
How is this Balanced? My D/D Elementaist can’t do anthing near 11k critical hits and then vanish 700 times during a fight, my Mesmer struggles to get 5k criticals and its stealth is pretty pathetic, I know Thief is meant to be a slippery class to catch but seriously Anet What the Kitten.
I tried it for around a week after running a non Evasive Arcana build and nearly fell asleep a few times! attuning to water/cleansing wave heal for around 2.7k and crit damage is about the same lol.
I’m currently testing out a 0/10/10/20/30 build with 2 clerics armor and 4 clerics trinkets, rest being P/V/T and it’s going great so far.
