Added a guild WvW video!

I’ve been running small roaming groups with an emphasis on team play in enemy borderlands daily for the last few weeks with great results, while [NOX] is a varied PVX guild we have a few semi hardcore WvW players also.

@Everyone else, every server ‘blobs’ at some time or another. Keep this thread clean and good fights to all.

Lightning flash is also a stun breaker, mostly useful in pvp/wvw

Just a heads up, in case you turned down your WvW settings as a workaround for this: the fix for the crash went in this morning, and we haven’t seen any occurrences since.

I’ve crashed twice in the last week, a second after turning down my graphics settings from auto detect to best performance.. related?

Had the message ‘a serious error ect ect ect, submit a report to anet’

I’ve just started playing a similar build, same traits possibly different armor stats. I haven’t got all exotics yet but I love it! currently getting highest crits of 3-4k and thats more then spike enough for me

Can’t decide if this is troll or not.. as for me I barely PvP’d before GW2 WvW, now I only ever leave to do quick dungeon runs to buy more siege lol.

In each major city theres a ‘Asura gate’ that will lead you to Lions Arch, from there you can take another Asura gate to any other major city.
So you can take one from Hoelbrak (norn city) to The black citadel (Charr city) to join your friend

Also Ascalon catacombs – Ghastly daggers turn blue and smoke at night.

Unfortunately being a elite kitten isn’t reportable, It should be!
I’ve done HotW hundreds of times and never seen anyone asking for specific builds/classes :/

Contesting enemy property is a decent and valid tactic, use scouts to counter easily.

You could start small guild roaming groups, these are always fun! taking the enemies camps requires enemy manpower to take back – thats 3+ people that aren’t hitting your allies.

Voice communication can make a huge difference in organizing these, winning battles against more than your numbers and makes the game a whole lot more fun
Also rangers with healing spring are OP for group play.

I’m pretty sure ‘Break Stun’ doesn’t break immobilize – Mesmer ‘Blink’ is a break stun and when immobilized it just teleports you to target location but still immobilized.

From memory, ‘Shake it off’ removes conditions and breaks stun.
Totally unsure how to block immobilize apart from shield skills/mass guardian aegis.

Whats an ‘Ascended Utility Infusion’ ?

No offense, (and ofc there are small exceptions) but Dzagonur have to be the most boring server I’ve ever fought.. and sadly this is far from the first time I’ve had to do it.

Agreed, same tactics each day, call 50 people and PvD a gate even with defenders inside.
Funny that when you catch a DZ member solo or in small groups they waypoint or call in 5 friends straight away, They must need their hands held :P

RoF, I always enjoy being matched against you, great small fights everytime we meet.

To the [ICON] Asura necro I was just having a 1vs1 with near RoF Bay.. apologies for the intruder, I asked them to stop with no response :/ Great fight anyway! not sure which way that was going!

I’d suggest including in the ‘money mail’ in text that you are actually transferring cash to get the ‘Golden’ title and screenshotting the original exchange and the return from both sides, just to cover your backs.

Try 2-3 months even longer for a casual player.
Maybe you should attempt crafting a high level exotic first? like Vision of the mists, Aether or one of the other expensive ones.

Transfers to medium population servers are free at the moment, try to visit a few server community websites before you move and pick which you prefer.

They were never terrible, people just didn’t know how to play them

‘Bunker’ Eles are very popular at the moment, but for a well played hybrid build Ele they are no competition.
Also WvW is a great place to work out the bugs in your D/D build and practice in 1vsX situations.

^As Yorric said, It’s tactically smart to hit 2nd place when in the lead or behind, I think I’ve only been to RoF BL once this week! and even then we had small numbers.

Been having some great fun in DZ borderlands this week, Always get a few laughs from small groups of DZ waypointing away before combat -_-

Welcome back, try watch some D/D build videos on youtube, pick a build and edit it to your playstyle.. WIN.

D/D can be great for group play too, those 2 KD’s and spreading fire fields inside enemy zergs can be amazing.
Staff for tower defense and massive AOE damage on siege/enemies on walls.

Even upscaled you’ll be of great use to your zerg for spreading combo fields, give it a try!

I would expect he meant ‘Blast Finisher’ used to create effects from ‘Combo Fields’

The Siege timer is fine for non superior siege, say in /map that you have refreshed siege at a certain place to the minute and ask others to do the same.

Superior siege does need a longer despawn timer though.

This. You can tell the difference between the dead bunker at your feet and the D/D dancing on your corpse with ease! always better to be the latter

Yeah great matchup RoF and DZ, I’ve been running small roaming parties in enemy borderlands mostly – took 4 people to DZ borderlands yesterday, took every camp and didn’t die for 2 hours!.. anyone would think you Germans had jobs!

Also had some nice fights with RoF around their Briar last night! I was the guy on the treb inside wiping all those blueprints you kept trying to build
eventually I dc’d and you managed to take out my precious treb with a treb from Vale camp and 1 from Vista, godknows how we kept that tower from you for so long! it was atleast 3 to 1 favoring RoF at one point!

I think in the long run it will work out even, rares salvaged into no ecto’s seems to be happening more often these days.
Its personal preference though, if you need them for crafting ect or are just waiting for a rainy day when ecto’s really spike in price then salvage away!

Q: In the latest ‘state of the game’ livestream, I heard about a Thief trait called ‘Mug’ dealing a lot of damage and a possible related Nerf, how does this Trait work for a Thief and how will it affect Thieves gameplay if it is Nerfed?

Q: What do you feel is an effective counter towards Shortbow Theives?
Seems to be quite a slippery weapon set for Thieves!

Elementalist can also be a great evader/escaper, built and played right it can be as tanky and still deal more damage then a Guardian.

Bear in mind if you build a character tanky enough to solo a supply camp then its going to take time, in that time enemies will probably show up and shoo you away.

@Judge.8754, We gave up after about 15 mins, spammed some emotes and moved along! there’s no chance we could have actually caught him!

Been trying to SS this since the patch, it doesn’t happen all the time.. unlike Anet to fix something and break something else totally unrelated

To the RoF Charr thief wearing GWAMM title trolling [NOX] near Vale a few mins ago,
those were some nice skills with S/D, gave me and guildies a good laugh attempting to get near you!
Also great fights all round tonight, was wondering if we’d meet again RoF!

As previously said, theres basically no reason for high level characters to go back to low level area’s apart from to farm ‘meta events’
I’m not sure how active FA is but server transfers to medium population servers are free at the moment.
Lion’s arch is a great place to find a Guild, or look in the Guilds section of this forum, a few decent Guildies can make or break a game for me.

To the OP, shoulda waited for the Mesmer really, doesn’t hurt to give ‘the new guy’ a helping hand every so often.
I’ve done Hotw about 100 times, never skipped mobs though, tried skipping today with a PUG, I agroed the wolves by mistake and wiped the group.. we laughed, nobody was kicked.

I go on t6 gathering runs everyday, I do Hotw path 1 and CoF path 1 everyday,
I sell my fine crafting mats every week.. I play too much WvW.

As a side note I have all the mats for Vision of the mists just levelling my Mesmer for it.

Seriously though, elementalists are the masters of the elements, I see them as the masters of their given weapons too.
Staff for me is hugely powerful weapon but very situational , mainly used for WvW tower defense/offense, I switch between D/D and Staff alot even in dungeons.

Switch weapons in between combat as well as Attunements in combat or play another class, simple as. Elementalist’s won’t be changed drastically anytime soon.
