Caldeum’s dreamer looks to be doing what my bolt is doing, I bet it’s orange if he chat links it…
EPIC FAIL ANET….
Thanks for witting back.
Unfortunately our game tools are very primitive right now so we’re unable to check the recent account activity to confirm what you’re reporting. The problem is that even if we could verify what you’re seeing we would still be unable to reimburse the in-game items due to these technical limitations.
I’m sorry that there’s not more that we can do in this case. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
I do something based on news THEY provide, and now Im told theres nothing that can be done.
I get this in the first response… “Did you transmute it before the patch? If so, we don’t have a way to re-transmute the weapon back to it’s original state. I am sorry but we do not have the tools to do this. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns”
I respond saying I did it after the patch… and Im still SOL. Seriously MASSIVE kittenING FAIL A-NET.
First CS response…
Thank you for contacting the Guild Wars Support Team. I’m sorry to hear that happened, we did test this out just to make sure but we were unable to replicate the issue you are having. Did you transmute it before the patch? If so, we don’t have a way to re-transmute the weapon back to it’s original state. I am sorry but we do not have the tools to do this. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
I transmuted it AFTER the patch, I hadnt seen any of the prepatch transmutations, but did those show a legendary purple item with a gold link when moused over?
Can’t tell if it’s just the link or the item… When moused over it’s still purple… It just gains the “of sigil” and the link becomes orange:/ Really wishing for an official response as the patch notes are extreamly missleading, and impact something I put a ton of time into:(
You need to go to them now, you don’t actually have to complete them, just get neer the start and you get credit.
Yea, needless to say Im extremly unhappy about this:(
Just transmuted my Bolt…. following this in the patch notes…
•Transmuting weapons now preserves the higher rarity of the two items.
Now on linking the item in chat… rather than just “Bolt” in purple I get “Bolt of Air” in orange… I’m rather unhappy about this, I submited a CS request and will post back what they have to say. I just wanted to give others a warning befor they had the same problem.
wtf is a dark warrior…
A warrior… but darker….
Ok ok, think shadow knight or dark knight.. Evil themed Gaurdian..
100% support this!
We really need a 3rd soldier! So how about an arcane/magic/whatever knight? Think a mix of ele and war, but stick with warrior weapons, no rifle or bow, but add staff for range.
Yet it wouldnt help anyone who has made one…
I’d like to see the legendary weapons be the best weapons available. Without the able to customize the stats, odds are extreamly high they will not be the best weapon for everyone.
Basicly to me… Gameplay/balance > Lore
I understand your point:) saying the legendary item is defined by its appearance and properties. At the same time… these legendaries are actually bulk made… Not single world items like in a D&D campaign. I udnerstand the desire to keep the items Roleplay/Lore intact, but I would favor effort vs reward balance over Lore any day.
Would that same legendary bow have been as special if the stats were less desirable than a magic item? That’s currently what we have in GW2… Equal stats that are NOT customizable to easily obtainable items. Legendaries have no statistical advantage like the one you are describing. So the comparison isn’t an accurate measurment of value/use.
Keep in mind in this case, it not only looks like it… It’s called the same thing to the letter minus the items rarity tag. IE. Bolt is still Bolt just exotic.
I can sort of understand the idea of keeping them set stats, but I really dislike it. Why shouldn’t I be able to customize a weapon that takes THAT much effort to get, to fight statisicly equall to an exotic that takes me less than 5 mins to craft, and maintain the legendary aspect of it?
I think the legendary characteristics of the weapon are it’s name and skin. If transmuted and the skin is kept (dont see why anyone wouldnt keep the skin) than the new weapon is still called Bolt… It’s just exotic not legendary, which quite frankly makes zero sense. The Legendary tag should be atached to the skin, as that’s what makes it “legendary”.
I would just really like to be able to keep a legendary with all the bells and whistles (legendary tag, purple etc) and have the stats I want…
How many people actually concider the current legendary stats power/tough/vit optimal for their main play style?
I’m just wishing we could get an official word on this…

Are you 100% sure it’s a bug? I have submited a support ticket and recived this..

Very sorry for the confusion you ran into with this matter. As far as I have been able to find out though this is actually working as intended. The legendary status falls off the item once it has been transmuted. For more information please check out this post on the wki http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Transmutation.

When I asked specificly about the response to a post by Jason king found here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Legendary-Weapon-Transmutation
I was told this.

Hello,
Transmuting a legendary item will destroy the legendary and replace it with a new item with the look and stats that you select. Unfortunately, this will result in the new item no longer being legendary. If your legendary item status is important, I strongly recommend you avoid performing the transmute. If this changes in the future, that forum post you linked will almost certainly be updated, so keep your eyes on our forums and social media sites.
If you do the transmute now, it is highly unlikely that this could then be made into a legendary again in the future once the system has been changed to maintain legendary status.
So we are getting mixed messages from Anet on this one.

Hi all!
I’m finaly getting close to a legendary, and I relized it didn’t have the stats I wanted… So after doing some research I found that.
1. If you transmute a legendary with an exotic for more desireable stats, it loses its “legendary” tag.
2. It is highly unlikely that if changes are made to retain the tag through transmutation, they will reinstate allready transmuted legendary items.
This makes no sense to me, the legendary weapons take alot of time, why should they not be the stats players WANT them to be? This gets worse when/if the ascended weapons come out. The “legendary” taged items will rarely be the best weapons available for people who crafted them, unless they want the default stats…
I have twhree sugestions to fix this issue.
The first is to simply allow transmuting a legendary weapon with an exotic quality weapon, keeps the “legendary” tag. If ascended weapons ever come up, just have the legendary weapon “bump up” the exotic stats to ascended. This could be retro-active so people who transmuted their legendaries would be able to get the legendary status back.
The second, is simply put a mystic forge recipe in for legendary weapon + T6 mat, and have the material set the stats: I.E. Vial of powerful blood = berserker stats, Ancient bone = carion stats. This would have the advantage of letting people change their legendary stats more often to go with differnt builds.
The last is make a “legendary transmutation stone” that would allow you to transmute and keep the legendary tag. Sell them in the gem store, and give 1 stone out of the forge when a player makes a legendary weapon…
PLEASE ANET do something to make it so legendary weapons can truely be the best weapon for my or anyone elses character.
This is the answer I got….
