It specificly lists the ram mini as something that will be available.

I agree with Tsunami, you don’t “need” it unless you plan on doing high level fractals. Every dungeon can easily be completed with full EXOTIC gear, the stat gain on ascended is small enough that it hardly makes a difference.

You “WANT” the best stats you don’t “NEED” them to play in over 99% of the games content.

Finally as others have said, if you can’t wait for the time gate just buy the mats and put it together.

@Fay and Gummi! I agree there are some variations though I didn’t see any on the top few pages, and I was just looking for advice on what I am running. It’s just like Gummi said, x/4/x/x/6 being pretty much required doesn’t leave a lot of wiggle room.
– I did try the poison sigil and will probably be sticking with it!

@Alanis I agree, phant fury doesn’t really help much, the only phants I have aren’t really big crit spammers for bleed stacks, and with the condi/rabid stat the crits don’t do a lot. I just couldn’t figure out anything more usefull xD.

I actually don’t really love the mantra heal, It’s just I don’t really have anything else on my bar to deal with conditions, and I figured even a little bit is better then none at all.

What do you use for 0/4/4/0/6?

Hey everyone! This is my first time posting a build here so be gentle but please add suggestions!

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fhAQNArfWl0npRtdqxBNMrNCuBdyYUDU/jhcySGgfB-TJxHABus/wsPBgjKDAwpAAA

Mainly just trying to keep torment and confuse pressure high, using bleeds from SI to keep things going when everything else is on CD.

Weapon choices – Went energy/bursting sigils on both (could probably pick better but I haven’t really tested it a lot)

Staff for the bouncing 1 and decent clone generation for shatters, as well as the traited bouncing attacks + clones seems to apply a decent amount of conditions when I can’t shatter.

Scepter/Torch seemed like the best choice for a condi heavy build. If I can get someone to swing at you the scepter block; it applies a decent amount of torment and is up fairly often. The 3 also applies a good amount of confusion. For the off hand I ended up picking torch, the invis is a nice bail out move, and the phantasmal mage while not great, does get 3 bounces with the trait.

For armor runes I’m stuck between undead and nightmare. I’m trying to focus on torment and then confuse; so I eventually picked undead for a tiny bit quicker damage application and a bit more survivability.

Slotted skills, I went with decoy and Mirror images for quick clone generation/stun breaks. I put the sigil of dom in my last slot for some CC.

Jump into the mists on each trying out the weapons. Damage/Survivability is a combo of skill gear and traits, but the weapons are going to define how you do it.

Level 1 I think offers the mists(crossed swords top corner menu).
If not it will be level 2 when you finish the ‘tutorial’.

This is exactly what I would suggest, go give each class a try, look at the attacks and skills for each and pick what you like.

90% sure the NPE (New player experience) Has negatively impacted this… You need to be level 20 or 22 to enter the mist from the crossed swords. (This means you must have a level 20 or 22 character on your account, after that you can just enter it any old time). I believe the work around is… The portals in Lions arch will allow you to enter right away. Simply jump in your main cities asura portal to LA then from LA to the mist.

Personal suggestion go Mesmer, it’s the most funnest class EVAR (obviously 100% opinion)

Suggestion about party kick system

One person starts the kick vote, after that any other member may second the vote and the person WILL be kicked currently.

I agree there is a problem with potential abuse of the current system, but requiring a full vote could also be problematic. I would go with a majority vote to be the most fair for all parties.

After all we have the friendliest player base around right? (brushes the occasional pvp lobby map chat under the rug somewhere lost and forgotten)

mesmer legendary weapon?

Miku.6297

I’d suggest going for them in what ever order you use most to least, For me that was Bolt, Bifrost, Minstrel, Sunrise, Kamoholi Katoki, Kraitkin, Meteorologicus, Quip, and finally Rodgort.

I tend to change specs frequently so I like to be able to change weapons for what ever style I happen to feel like playing. Though Most of the time I always up with a sword equipped.

If you see yourself going sword/focus a lot, I would suggest making the sword first. You can pair sword with the scepter, focus, pistol, torch, and 2nd sword. So you will likely have it equipped more often. (also the sword gives you the cheaty dual legendary look as you can skin another sword to go with your bolt!)

As far as graphics go, I like most of them, some I wish had a little more “life likeness” and most interact pretty well with Mesmer… Some pros/cons to graphics for us..

Bolt: works fully for both hands, footprints + aura + flashy slashing sound effect that plays WAY to late during the animation.

Minstrel: off hand only, no foot prints, no aura, it does have a higher density of music notes now so it’s almost noticeable! (I actually really like the graphic for this one, I just wish it had a little more WOW)

Bifrost: works great, foot prints + aura. Most importantly rainbow mesmers are pretty (this is really the only reason I wanted it)!

Sunrise: Same as bifrost except no rainbows.

Kamohoali katoki: Down side is it’s underwater… Other then that it’s awesome! (summons ghost sharks on crits, but it only works for mesmers 2)

Kraitkin: also underwater, and for some reason clones are unable to hold it (you create them but they don’t have a weapon equipped)

Rodgort: Really cool looking torch, and the foot prints are pretty good, however if you plan on getting meteo or bolt to go with it… the foot prints will never show:/

Quip: “Fun” foot prints, the sound only works on our 5:/

Meteorologicus: Love the improved look for this one! Foot prints are a little extreme for my taste but other then that not bad:)

Putting aside the fact that we currently have to many unused gear tiers. Some of your ideas sound okish. Other parts I would be strongly against.

Adding some method of making ascended items with swappable stats might be nice, though it would remove some of the advantages to having a legendary. I know you said only 5ish stat combos… but how many people use more then four, the one stat perk legendary weapons have over ascended is not having to carry multiple stat choices. Also current legendary weapons cannot sigil swap like you are suggesting, if this weapon tier is between legendary and ascended it should not be superior to legendry weapons.

As far as the 185% damage goes… ABSOLUTLY NOT… Even if we overlook the un-neccisary new tier, as I said be for if this tier is suppose to be between ascended and legendary it certainly shouldn’t be superior to legendary; (185% proposed) > 115% Legendary/ascended) > (100%Exotic.).

The last thing I was wondering about, is the suggest recipe, 1 ascended piece, 1 exotic piece, 1 augur stone , and 1 other item (un-explained)… This could actually end up being CHEAPER then making 2 ascended weapons. Correct me if I’m reading this recipe wrong please.

[Suggestion] Option to rearrange skill bar buttons

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Miku.6297

My guess is Balancing issues and PvP/WvW.

For example, let’s say all Off-Hand items can have their skills swapped. Well, I -love- the look of a shield on a Guardian but I’d be an idiot to use anything but a focus as the Off-Hand as it’s #5 skill is more powerful than Annie’s Hair Curlers. If I could put that skill on my bar while wielding a Shield? I’d be happy, very happy indeed. But it’d probably confuse people in WvW or PvP if I did that.

Not to mention imagine what else I could put there? There would be certain combinations of skills that would ultimately become devastating and imbalanced.

I don’t think the idea is to let you use focus skills while holding a shield… I think the request is to be able to move the 1-2-3-4-5 hotkeys around on your bar (without having to rebind keys)

What do you mean its not fair for the people who already created their characters? They already payed the price for making them when these options aren’t available for them yet. Its not fair to make someone new, then use a kit to see all the new options from the start. Its adding an unnecessary step 2 to create a new characters with every option available in the game only available in step 2. Since they are new, they should have the luxury of having them available for them from the start. And really, think about it, people will change their appearance when they feel like it, almost constantly to look as great as possible. People won’t find complete satisfaction with their appearance even in character creation. They won’t lose money. People will not stop buying them. All I’m saying that these options shouldn’t be restricted to new characters.

Id’ say what isn’t fair is…

Example:
Hi I have already made 20 characters before these styles release, I like these new styles and would have liked to use them, so now I have to pay gems for a kit.
Hi I’m brand-new to the game, and am just making my first character, I think it’s great I ckittene all these new hair styles for FREE; people who have shown some dedication to the game hahahaha you have to pay for them. (exaggeration but that’s how many will feel about it)

How is it a good decision to give things away to new players/new characters and charge older players for them?

If it bugs you that much, the perma hair kit does let you use all the new styles and colors, on all your characters new and old

Get it now for the low price of only 3000 gold
(when it is in stock)
(which hasn’t been the case for months)

That’s why I said “If it bugs you that much” If it’s a big deal, then it might be worth saving the gold and trying to buy one.

It’s an alternative solution that would allow the OP to use the new hair/colors when ever he wanted on which ever char he wanted.

The trait change system will have literally no effect on how quickly you learn all your weapon skills.

The trait change re-arranged the levels that you get traits at (0 till 30) It’s a bit more limiting then the previous system when it comes to building your character as you level. The only other limitation that was added/changed is now you must unlock each individual trait, not just buy a book for each tier. Unlocking can be done by purchasing the trait from a trainer or doing a fairly easy task.

I’m not really a big fan of the change, but It’s by no means game breakingly bad.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

2. Wouldn’t having potentially hundreds of stacks of Bleeding applied to a boss potentially do way too much condition damage? That depends. Do you think letting dozens of players do direct damage (via Berserker builds) at the same time is way too much damage? This change would allow Condition Damage-heavy builds to coexist as well as Power/Precision/Ferocity builds do.

Many of the bosses you are talking about can’t be crit… So the power from a zerker stat is great… Prec/ferocity; not so much.

Because it was added specifically for people that did craft two identical Legendaries, one which is now “useless”?

Having a weapon that will always be BiS, that is account bound and stat changeable is “useless”?

I agree that the wardrobe option does remove a lot of the prestige of crafting two of the same weapon for dual weapons, but it’s far from “useless”.

Overall… I kind of wish legendary graphics couldn’t be skinned onto non-legendary weapons.

in Crafting

But what is the point of this new alternative? You stated yourself you currently DO have the option to pay for it with gold… (and other materials if you sell them for gold). What’s stopping you from going out and having an adventure and just using gold made from adventuring and selling things found on your adventure to buy it?

It certainly changes how the item is acquired, and the value of the “limitless” utility would obviously be effected by a new method of getting it.

Would you be happy if crafting one required “legendary” or close to it levels of effort, I think the big concern is adding a new method of acquisition (if much easier then the current) would be frowned upon by all the people who already bought one through the current methods.

[Suggestion] How about crafting permanent gathering tools?

in Crafting

Miku.6297

Of course the infinite tools are a far superior value. Unless I misread it, the comment was how much of a money sink the regular tools are. This would matter since if we were allowed to craft our own tools, ANet is potentially losing a large gold sink. With the current existence of infinite tools, I think that ship has sailed already.

Right that was the question, which is what I answered… The current limited tools are hardly noteworthy in terms of money a money sink.

Maybe my comment wasn’t clear, when I said “That is a TON of gathering to counter the cost” I ment you would have to buy and use a ridiculous amount of harvesting tools too equal the cost of the infinite tools. So the “gold sink” on normal tools is negligible.

If we could craft infinite tools at roughly the same cost as the current infinite ones, what gold sink of merit would A-net be loseing?

Weapons or armor first?

in Crafting

Posted by: Miku.6297

Miku.6297

I’d say weapons as well. The base weapon damage is really the most important thing.

The difference between ascended armor vs exotic armor (dps stats) is extremely low.

Zerker exotics: Power315/Prec224/Fero 224
Zerker Ascend: Power329/Prec235/Fero 235

So that’s… 14 power/9prec/9fero difference. Which adds up to almost no difference in performance. Obviously if you take infusions into account as well the armor will actually start to pull ahead a bit more(30 more points for stats), but that’s a much larger investment then the weapon.

As far as a gold sink on the current orichalcum tools…

If you take the average price of gems per gold currently 12gold 25S per gets you 100 gems. The cost of the tools was 1000gems… so that means 12g 25s x 10 = 125G. An orichalcum gathering tool costs kitten 125g/4s = 3125… So if you buy 3125 tools you would equal the current gold cost of an infinite tool.

That is a TON of gathering to counter the cost. Obviously convenience does need to be taken into account, not having to carry extras tools incase your current one runs out etc…. Even with that taken into consideration the gold loss for using the normal gathering tools vs the gold spent on an infinite one is marginal at best.

I’m lost, both those forums are used for discussing balance and bug fixes.

As the game updates/patches bugs are fixed.

here are some examples from the most recent patches

•Fixed a bug that prevented armorsmiths, leatherworkers, tailors, and jewelers from being able to craft Sheets of Ambrite.
•Runes of the Privateer/Pirate: Parrot health reduced by 50%, normalizing it with similar summons.
•Time Warp: Fixed a bug that prevented the casting animation from playing if the player had a greatsword equipped.
•Fixed an issue in which Build Master II caused the incorrect amount of supply to be spent when building burning oil, cannons, and mortars.

Some balance changes…
•Healing Mist: Reduced the number of targets from 6 to 5.
•Rune of Strength: The 4-piece bonus has had its might duration reduced from 10 seconds to 5 seconds for both the Major and Superior versions. The 6-piece bonus has had its damage bonus reduced from 7% to 5% while under the effect of might.

As you can see bug and balance fixes are ongoing. If you mean a large overhaul I wouldn’t expect anything like the trait system rework soon.

The second thing I like is removing the stupid story bar. I know completing the story removes it, but it’s not exactly something I want to do 8+ times.

Quick slots for consume items would also be very nice, having to open my bags every time I want to use something isn’t exactly streamlined. So I love that idea.

One thing I find interesting is that you changed the group/party hp bars to circles… while changing the players circle to a square… :P I actually like the bar version hp bars as I feel they are easier to gauge a percentage with. On that note, why not add percentage options for group/player/targets hp bars?
