To those that take issue with people flipping items on the TP for profit purposes (for whatever reason), you shouldn’t.

Think of the massive amount of money that leaves the game due to extra transactions on items as they are flipped. When the rich guy goes and spends 500g on the TP on stuff to resell, it’s going to take MORE than 25g out of the economy just for him to list them (25g = 5% of 500g). I say more than 25g because he’s going to be listing items at some sort of higher value than what he bought. Then MORE than 50g leaves the game again as the items sell (50g = 10% of 500g) since again, he’s selling at a profit.

The more often the TP gets to take that 5% + 10% cut on the same item, the more inflation is curbed. Having an item pass through the TP once is nice, having it pass through 2 or more is excellent.

Always find it amusing when stuff like this has to be suggested.

How many hundreds of games have come out with trading posts/auction houses before this one? Did any not let you do this and it takes it being suggested for it to be realized “Hey wait we should add this, great idea!”

10 years from now MMOs will be coming out and people will have to suggest on the forums 3 months after the game is out “Hey, wouldn’t it be cool if we could pick whether we want to be a warrior, thief, or cleric…rather than the game just randomly picking one for us on character creation?” then developers will respond “This is a great idea and is on our list of improvements”

I don’t know why people think the prices are insane.

They’re like 3x the price they were when the game was out for a week and everyone was poor. Now people have some money together. How much do you feel they should be? Isn’t it easier to get 60s together now than it was to get 20s together on september 1st for the majority of players?

If people keep buying from gold sellers, then doing gold to gems, it’s just going to keep raising the price on gems until a point is reached where it’s not desirable to buy from gold sellers for that purpose anymore.

If elementalist had a #5 skill in downed which just killed you instantly, I think a lot of people would press it often, that’s how bad ele downed state is.

The only thing I call into question with the downed state is what it takes for a rally to occur.

Would like it to take a bit more damage caused by you in pvp, not just tagging someone nearby that’s at 2% in a zerg to get a rally…or a deer nearby that happens to be low on hps because it’s standing in between two zergs with AOE going off.

More damage required, or just more blows you need to deal from downed before the game qualifies you as being eligible for a rally if the target dies..something like that.

One you may have missed is the Chantry of Secrets in Bloodtide Coast, since it is in its own instance.

Did you get the POI in fort trinity? (Straits of Devastation). That might be another one.

It’d be fine with me giving it exotic stats, but it honestly just 100% doesn’t matter.

If you’re buying this expensive stuff, you’ve long since geared your character in full exotic gear with the exact stat setup you prefer. It just doesn’t matter.

I’m fine with working for cool skins, but these seem like too much for not cool enough skins.

We’re talking about working for a really long time to get JUST these. It’ll consume every resource you own. All your skill points, all your karma, all your coin you worked for and you’ll just have that one skin and nothing else to show for anything else you’ve done in that time. You’ll be back to where you were 2 months ago or something…plus one weapon skin.

At least with raiding for months for something like in WoW or whatever, you don’t lose everything else you did while raiding for months.

The skins are neat. They’re not THAT neat. I could see this being the kind of thing for a lot of people where once they get it…they don’t want to play anymore.

Ok, that is one thing off the list. We are still left with no accessories.

Though I call into question why someone needs to run an explorable dungeon repeatedly for a proper condition damage weapon, when a proper power weapon is buyable on the TP for a couple gold. That’s clearly against the game’s design philosophy.

But yes, exotic lev 80 weapons with cond/prec/toughness are available on the twilight arbor vendor.

Condition builds are pretty bad for anything other than solo play until they change the way conditions work. 25 stacks max and only the top condition damage player gets to do any damage. Having said that, going pure condition and skipping out on power altogether is a horrible way to go about building our character. You need a healthy dose of both, even if you want to focus more on conditions.

Works great for me in sPVP, with the itemization available. I want the same itemization opportunity available to me in WvWvW. That’s it.

Whether you think it’s viable or not is outside the scope of this thread.

Bump, I am being forced to build for power on my engineer when I want to do a condition build. The stats I wan’t are not available outside of sPvP and it is very frustrating to not be able to do similar condition builds in WvW/PvE as I can in sPvP.

I can get a templegod armor set with the stats I want but I am unable to get accessories or weapons with the stats I need.

Please arenanet, add PvE Condition/Presision/Toughness sets

Absolutely. In fact your post made me notice I didn’t even mention the weapons themselves! Which also have the same stat problem.

I’m doing something similar on my necromancer. Doing a power build. I like the power build but I want to try the condition build too at an optimized level.

I think this can be solved by just having more hard to get and desirable weapon skins added, legendary or not.

Need to spread out the demand so people don’t all have the exact same goal on a limited set of items requiring certain ingredients. Then it would be more reasonable (but still hard) to get/buy such things.

Lets say there were like 10 really awesome greatsword skins to get. Well then not as many people would be wanting dusk and dawn. Then price goes down a bit to where it’s just “really expensive but you can get it if you try”.

Of course I expect them to add many more cool cosmetic skins in the future so maybe it’s not a huge deal.

I’d like to comment on the fact that gold sellers sell gold at a cheaper price than doing gems to gold:

That seems to be on the way out. It’ll just take some more time. I do a lot of gold to gems conversion and that price has been going up steadily. It costs me more gold to buy 100 gems now (was less than 40s for 100 gems a week ago, now it’s like 50s) than it ever has and the price is continuing to go up. When that happens, people that do gems to gold get a better exchange rate in their favor.

In a month it’ll probably be a lot less desirable for people to buy gold from gold sellers, because that exchange rate for gems to gold is going to keep getting better for a while yet.

This is not really a problem for spvp, the itemization is there for you to do a proper condition build.

But for PVE/WvW, at level 80 in top gear…you can’t properly gear yourself for condition damage.

First, the backpack slot: Currently the best items for the back slot are the 3 rare level 80 guild backpacks. None even have condition damage on them, in any form.

Earrings/Rings/Amulet. All the level 80 crafted exotics, they all have power. Every crafted one has power on it. Some have both power and condition damage, suboptimal for a pure condition damage build. Then you’ve got the badge WvWvW accessories. Those are power/vit/toughness. Nice to have that available for power builds, you can’t craft that setup. Of course, that does no good for condition builds.

The 6 main armor slots: For light armor if you want to do cond/prec/toughness 4 of the 6 armor slots are covered by the orr karma items, you can mix and match to cover that. For chest and boots, I believe to get cond/prec/toughness you need the khilbron boots and chest, quite rare items that run like 10g each. Well at least the itemization is technically available…for this specific setup.

We need ways to cover 3 different stat layouts to put condition damage on par with power at max level

Currently there is no way to itemize all your gear slots in ANY of those 3 layouts, with the 6 “accessory” slots being extremely lacking and not even close.

Meanwhile with power, while not perfect, you can mix and match to come up with whatever power based layout you’re shooting for.

If there’s some wonky way to do good condition setups on your accessories with some sort of rare drops on exotic lev 80 accessories I don’t know about, I apologize. I don’t think there is though, and even if there is, it shouldn’t be necessary. The game isn’t about that kind of thing.

I wouldn’t want the trait stats to be changed at all honestly.

Crit dmg % is a niche stat and I don’t want to be pidgeonholed into it. If you pair it with prec then it is useless for condition builds. If you pair it with power you’re requiring someone to run a power build that also has plenty of precision (no power/vit/toughness setups).

Also condition duration is very useful for power necros and I wouldn’t want to lose that. I like dagger/focus and condition duration means longer dagger #3 immobilize, focus #5 chill, staff #3 chill, Shroud #2 chill. Such tools are very important to a necro since we lack in mobility, keeping the enemy mobility low is vital.

Gathering Plague in underwater DS is awful

The worst is the absolutely atrocious #1 attack on DS underwater. It’s like life blast except takes twice as long…and the attack does less damage besides. And it’s not like Life blast is some incredible attack to begin with.

What’s even more ridiculous is you can’t even craft any accessories amulets etc that don’t have power.

Right now at 80 there’s no reason to be a condition spec in WvWvW or PVE (in sPVP the itemization allows it). You can optimally build for power but only suboptimally build for conditions.

I was disappointed with the fact that it was only one fix…but if there was just going to be one fix, this was a good one. Now picking up that trait is a viable option. Might fiddle with it again in WvWvW tomorrow.

Would be great if they next fixed the 5 point trait before it, the jagged horror one. That one is almost the same as the slot just being empty.

Problem is we don’t have enough weapons for there to be a reason to not use staff.

If you’re running conditions, it should be staff and sceptre/x. Nothing else is any good for conditions.

If you’re running power, it should be staff and axe/x or dagger/x. Scepter is no good for power. There’s also no real reason to run both axe/x and dagger/x on swap due to the similar nature of the weapons.

Thus we’re left with staff being needed in all builds. Necro needs another 1200 range 2h weapon imo (like how Mesmer has staff being more condition focused and greatsword being more power focused, but both usable in both kinds of builds and both 1200 range weps).

I’d like to see dagger 1 have a range increase to 300 and dagger 2 to complete the channel a little faster than it does.

Axe 1 to have a boost to the power coefficient (If axe 1 did about 20% more damage than it does, base, it’d be probably around where it should be. It needs that kind of boost) and Axe 3 should be instant.

That’d be some decent stuff and certainly wouldn’t make dagger or axe necros some huge terror out on the field.

I think the staff is nice and creative. I only have a few issues with it;

-The autoattack is completely useless outside of PvE since if you see a huge dark hand making it’s merry casual slow way towards you – you most certainly will not stand around. It’s pathetically easily dodge able.
-Either the marks should already naturally be slightly larger or should be instant cast. Because they’re so tiny no one would be dumb enough to walk into it, and they take so long to cast the target will almost certainly not be where I cast it originally. The marks even often times suck in PvE as the enemies might move unpredictably.
-The marks really need to either cripple or immobilize or have a longer duration freeze if they wanna be so small. But more than anything they need to have shorter cooldowns, I can’t count how many times I’ve gotten stuck there after using all my marks and now all I can do is use the COMPLETELY useless autoattack and wait to cast the #2 every now and again since it has shorter cooldown.

The staff feels like in no way should it ever be used as a main weapon. I use it as a secondary weapon to switch into really briefly, place my marks around and switch it out as soon as I can because actually relying on it in battle whether it be PvE or PvP with its current state is simply not an option.

It feels like we should have a second 1200 range 2h weapon, like how mesmers have staff and greatsword.

One thing to consider is that people merching and remerching items continously actually has the effect of keeping prices lower in the long term.

Since every time something is sold, 15% of the money just disappears from the economy, it increases the value of money due to less money being available. Having someone buy an item means 15% of the money they spent on the purchase disappears.

When they then resell it at some presumable markup for profit, when someone buys it from them 15% of the money that new buyer spent is also removed from the economy.

It’s pretty significant.

This bug has been present for me for a fair bit now and seems to be getting WORSE.

Please take a look at it. I honestly have to try 4+ times to get to right mouse click turn sometimes. Happens even more the more other people are around me.

Being able to sell from anywhere is one of my favorite features in this game. I don’t want it taken away.

Also, even if we couldn’t, we can deposit collectibles from anywhere. It just means instead of posting those venom sacs 2 at a time, I wait til I’m in town then sell them 20 at a time. Doesn’t affect anything, just adds extra inconvenience for no payoff.

Don’t give us an update that basically says “Yep it’s down, it’ll be back up at some point”. That’s completely useless information and not an update of any kind. We know that it’s down and we know it’ll be back up one day.

Any update, regardless how minimal, is a good update when it comes to a critical service outage situation. A company acknowledging that a service is not working as intended is reducing the number of support tickets they get regarding that service.

Saying that they are working on it reduces even more support tickets.

Saying that they don’t know -when- it’ll come back up but that they are working on it reduces more tickets.

Sometimes more information is -not- a good thing but continual information is.

As to your CNN comparison, you’re talking about the product (being the news) itself instead of delivery system – being able to watch CNN on television, the web, or through an app.

It isn’t something where you have to pick one over the other.

You can post an update saying “It’s down, here’s what’s going on with it and what we’re up to” etc with some actual information. Then hours later if nothing has changed just post an update every so often with the standard “Sorry it’s still down, we’re still working on it” worded in whatever way.

This happens for me constantly.

Sometimes I’ll play for a while and there’ll be no issues, but sure enough eventually trying to turn with the right mouse button starts working only half the time…or worse.

I seem to have relatively little problem turning when there’s nothing going on around me. The more mobs/people around me, the harder it is to get right mouse turn to work. In WvWvW especially during hectic siege situations (Just the time you don’t want your mouse to have problems naturally) it is a consistent problem, with right mouse turning working perhaps 25% of the time for me if even that.

Also all the life siphon traits need to be looked at in blood magic as far as what they affect on the staff, since it seems almost anything on the staff that does damage doesn’t proc a life siphon, not even the single direct damage hits by abilities.

Greater Marks (which increases the radius of marks) trait is bugged for both staff #2 and #3

For #2 “Mark of Blood” the size of the mark on the ground appears as the original small size even when placed (not just the target marker). However it affects the larger radius like it is supposed to.

For #3 “Chillbains” the size of the mark on the ground is the proper larger size, but when activated it only affects the original smaller size. This is pretty bad since if you place it and a target walks into it, they set off the mark but aren’t affected by it since when it “goes off” it just affects the original 120 radius zone.

Right now as far as #3 is concerned it’s actually better to NOT have the greater marks trait, since if you don’t put it right on the target’s head when you use it it’s going to get set off and probably not affect anyone.

Right now #4 and #5 seem to be the only ones that actually work as intended, placing the proper larger sized mark on the ground and affecting the full large area normally.
