Event ends 21 Jan iirc, so even with a Wintersday daily achivement a day, you can finish with ample time to spare
Human = Salma District (home), in Divinity’s Reach
Would I be right in thinking that recipes purchasable by Karma (from the Master artisians) can’t ever be discovered?
Interestingly, within the achivement panel, certain achivements show a suggest location to go to for the achivement (e.g. Mystic Forgesmith says go to Lions Arch), so there’s not reason why this can’t be done for these sorts of tracking achivements, and remove the locations as you complete them
At least if you’ve missed 1 or 2, the locations left showing would help narrow down the search required.
they all so need to be costumes like back in GW1
I want the emotes that have an emote command, but no animation, e.g. /roar
It would be nice if these skins could go into the same skin back as the Zenith skins from the achievement progress – so that they could be accesible on all your characters at any time :P
Achievement progress is triggered/completed on picking up the 3rd & final item from a mob drop, once that’s done, you can go see Vorpp and continue his meta
(and happily delete the trophies)
or just have the scroll assigna fixed amount of ~116k experience – which is what’s needed to level from 1-20

Caithe’ll be wandering round making origami unicorns next ;-)
Since Anet have said they’re moving to a rolling cycle of 2-week updates for LS content, I’m simply going to assume I’ve got 2 weeks to complete achivements associated with new LS content.
So for Bot4W I’m aiming to at least complete the meta by end of Monday 22nd ready for new content coming out 22nd/23rd in my timezone.
or use UTC and let everyone figure out their own adjustment from time zone / daylight savings :P
Whatever happened to the notion of costumes from GW1?
Such a shame that the idea doesn’t seem to have been ported over to GW2
Not really big but the Queen Wasp in Queensdale. I still don’t know where I double click to attack her, I always have to use auto because clicking anywhere on or around her does nothing.
Sometimes you can see a red targetting ring moving on the ground under the Wasp Queen, aim for that?
I say sometimes, since I have red/green colourblindness, these circles don’t always show up well enough to react to them (ditto aoe attack circles when I need to dodge!)
I don’t know if it’s true of all the audio log collectors, but the one in Iron Marches (skalecatch village) shows on the map with the little “collecting bowl” icon, so that might make it easier to spot them
So, the “home instance” doesn’t count as our “house” then?
Most days are spent doing the dailies – I play quite late (UK-9pm onwards), and sometimes there’s not much time to get the daily done before reset @ midnight.
If there’s sufficient free time after the daily, I’ll switch to one of my non-level-80 alts and complete a couple of Personal Story quests.
Saturday’s are presently taken up with weekly guild event in which we get our Charr’s together to storm through and complete explorable zones.
Sunday’s are anything goes – GW2 dungeons, PS, fractals,
OR other games if I’m feeling a bit of gw burnout (Skyrim, FTL, Dawn of War, Lego games)
At the end of the day, it’s helpful if even only a few people buy the boxes, so the information about the contents can go on the wiki &c, especially to determine if the contents of a give box are fixed or randomised
Yes, it usually takes 30-40minutes to get the bulk done from an alt I’ve parked in Queensdale.
About the only thing I do keep an eye on is making sure I finish (last kill, gather or mopb type) on a max level char so I can get the most money & karma etc.
Give the small size of parties, it should require every one of the other 4 ppl to vote against the “kickee”
Colour me dense, but why were 3 different types of “ugly wool” items even necessary for gift exchange?
Just seems like an exercise in over complicating the whole situation
The snowflakes start was truly the most tricky part for me. Not the difficulty of the jumps per se, but the fact that the initial part was different for each of the three starter areas. Just as I getting into a rhythm for one, I’d be shifted to another, and lose my timing.
So just develop a rhythm for one starting point and walk off the edge to restart on the other two – it’s what I did: I found I was making better progress & success on route 1 than 2/3 so I just stepped off the platform everytime I started on 2/3
If you already did each of the dungeons on the day they came out, then that’s it, you can’t get anymore crafting materials for the minipets – I hope you choose your 2 wisely!
This is all very funny – I went in and realised it was a tower defense style game half way thru the first round, sadly my team lost all the dolyaks by the 2nd round.
Next game, shouted instructions in local chat, ran about like crazy building ballistas around the central platform, and we pulled it off – all 5 dolyaks survied to round 10.
Easy Peasy, and yet people are complaing it’s hard.
Me, I’m still trying to get through the JP after about 6 hours of trying, while others are claiming to have completed on their first few tries.
Horses for courses?
At least no-ones running around claiming to have taken an arrow to the knee…
Not sure if it’s been mentioned (this thread is pretty long when I got to it), but this puzzle environment is sufficiently pretty & interestingingly layed out, that it would be nice to have an explorable instance that you could just run & jump around in without the health loss/timer/melting snowflake elements.
Maybe stating the obvious here, but it’s pretty blindingly obvious why anet don’t allow miniatures to be trade on TP – it removes a revenue source for them.
If mini were tradable, folks wouldn’t be dumping $$ into Anets coffers to get at them from the RNG chests.
Is PST the same as the “server time” that can be shown on the map radar?
iirc it’s a potentially contested waypoint – they’re never safe places to log out from
Accessing the other orders would also be nice for getting access to their Asura portals at the order’s bases – that said, you can “backtrack” from the portal trio at Fort Trinity, ie arrive via the whispers portal, then map out again thru the vigil portal
Kinda glad I choose whispers for that reason, it provides a reasonable easy means of getting from Lions Arch to Orr, and effectively halves the waypoint costs then.
Personally, this is an increasingly frustrating issue for having more than one GW1 account (3 in my case), and are still waiting to get access to the character names on the account(s) we couldn’t link to GW2.
It’d be nice to hear a formal response from the GW2 team why this is still being held up
I’d be curious to know what people will be doing further down the line.
I’d like to play one of each class to level 80 (and complete 100% map with at least 1 character), but looking at how much I play and progress, I think I’ll be starting my 8th & final class in about 10 months time. It’s hard to see the zones being very populous at that point – some some very deserted even now, 1 month after release date – I envisage doing a lot of DE & hearts on my own in 10 months time – guess I should plan classes to ensure the strongest solo is last :P
