I don’t know- on my server people pretty much run around in the open world doing stuff and being social.
I don’t mean guilds since I am in a personal guild- I mean /say and map chat.
The game seems very chatty to me
I have a ridiculous friend list and I am an antisocial person- I don’t know how I managed to make friends.
By helping people, being nice and talking nonsense in map chat, I guess.
I don’t usually party up though unless I play with my husband.
I have been playing since the start- I am never bored I will give you one example why:
Last night I’m running around Bloodtide coast leveling my Ranger when I accidently aggro a champ.
Since it is fairly close to a waypoint I think why not and I attack in earnest- it’s health doesn’t dent by much but I stay alive so I keep going at it.
In wanders this little Asura that lays into the champ just as I die- I respawn run back and for the next 20 min or so we had the most amazingly epic battle.
Just us, we were too busy to talk and we were running for our lives but at the end I said that was awesome and the Asura whispered me back: Indeed it was.
Moments like this never get old
There is a little hidden valley in Straits of Desolation that has most juveniles- it is like a little eden.
Unfortunately I can’t remember where except I fell into it form a vista at some point
You just want to deny adding them because you don’t want the TP to be blocked or because there are waypoints, or because you don’t want anyone to have something you don’t. That’s being selfish. Everything said against mounts has been nothing but an excuse or some kind of line assuming they know how long it would take a dev to create.
But whatever, like I said before, suit yourselves. All you’re really doing is making it so gw2 has one less element to it to draw people in and keep them entertained. Hooks. It’s that simple.
Its selfish and hypocritical when your argument’s point is “because you guys don’t want me to have it” and saying “That is selfish” afterwards. You have no legit point as to why mounts should be made in GW2 other than “Every other MMO has done it”. You’ve not come up with a single counter-point to the ones given. The fact is, not alot of people want mounts and there will more than likely be no mounts between now and forever.
Are you illiterate? If adding cosmetic features to a cosmetic game isn’t reason enough, I don’t know what to tell you. There are already mounts being rolled out as pointed out by other people. Get with the program! If you can’t tell the difference between me providing a good reason for them to continue to be implemented and those who are saying go back to wow, fit the lore, block the to, wah wah wag, then I don’t know what to tell you.
You have yet to provide a good reason- saying the point of the game is cosmetics, is disingenuous because the cosmetics people are referring to has to do with armour and weapon skins, not mounts.
You are also fixated on blocking the TP for some reason- this is the least of our worries since most people want mounts to show -off in the open world.
As for broom-sticks?
Really it is a town clothing accessory calling it a mount because you can ride on it seems to try and add to weight an argument that will go nowhere because GW has never had mounts the way you describe them.
Everything said in favour of mounts is just an excuse to wave your kitten around- right back at you.
BTW stop insulting people.
Alright. Sounds good. Suit yourselves, really. To me it’s a fundamental. To deny the addition of something more for people to collect just because you don’t like them is selfish in my opinion. Btw the TPs are overcrowded to begin with and most of the time are indoors which would make mounts unusable, but whatever you say; logic eludes. Anyway, anything would liven up boss chests that (if you’re lucky) you get level 80 rares with level 1 skins.
Also, I don’t even play wow, but all the attention you’re giving them is making me think it might be a good game.
Have a good day now!
Mounts don’t fit into the lore of this game- no one rides in Tyria have you noticed? The terrain is very complicated and unsuitable to mounts.
We have massive culling in PvE still.
There is absolutely no need for mounts and there are quite a reasons why they would be impractical.
That is how this game was made.
The only reason for asking for mounts is because you want to look like a bad kitten riding around on your mount of doom- that sounds a lot more selfish to me than people saying no mounts.
there is a 30 min window- in that time the brew shipment has to be started, or if the kegs have been stolen they have to be retrieved and then the escort has to be started.
When the prevents come up you have to clear the portals at the Tahmini and at Greatheart Weld, Monastery and finally the ones in the swamp before he can spawn.
Oak heart is up every 10 min I think so I’m not sure if he is part of the chain
I might have missed some things but there you have it
oh look- another mount thread.
No, just no -_-
whip: main hand- thief, ranger, mesmer
shotgun: 2h -engineer
I was wondering this too when I saw that slot.
I really really hope not since so far I have happily ignored the existence of Ascended let alone agony- I will never set foot in a fractal and I hope it never comes to open world.
It would make no sense to add agony mechanics to world content- what about new players?
What about down leveling?
It would make such a mess of openworld play it is not even funny
Some servers are more busy than others and so are some maps.
Generally maps with interesting meta chains have population since those chains are fun and useful for leveling.
Bonus points if the chain ends in a cool boss with a chest.
The event chain meta serves as a concentration point for players in the map.
I do think the solution to the dead zones are more involved meta chains that span the zone- the question is will people do those for fun or will they still just clump up at the loot?
Everyone likes shiny- so add to those events: karma skins to be purchased at the end- a theme for each zone,
add them as rare drops even.
Normalise loot drops in the game so that it is profitable to play anywhere but add cosmetic incentives to do particular content.
That is all I have by way of suggestions
Edit: when PvE culling is finally fixed I think it will make a big difference too- I mean atm people vanish if you are a few feet away- for all I know there might be hordes around
(edited by Morrigan.2809)
My pics only start from BWE 2 or 3, I forgot I made an ele for that.
Well done OP!
Hi- I am not particularly suffering, I am friendly.
I actually did send you a mail the other day- you can talk to me if you see me online.
Not sure how I can help though
I always thought blackberry/plum with a bit of goji berry
I don’t buy keys or RNG boxes.
I want to see what I am buying.
I have and will buy skins, costumes, makeover/ hair kits, bank slots, BLK, transstones and anything else that takes my fancy.
I thought that the Wintersday skins as well as the Rox and Braham items were really well done.
I got a black lion key today from a random drop in open world.
OP was referring to the new skins available from the new chest for this event.
I get you Op.
I know some people like to buy mystery chests or as we called them “lucky packets” but I think many people are tired of the constant RNG.
Why can’t we just buy the stuff outright too? Best of both worlds eh?
I love skins- let me buy them from you!
(edited by Morrigan.2809)
Last stand? against what?
Could this be a final rebellion against the consortium?
Or could this mean the karka are finally fed up and will go all out, leading to either their extinction or domination of the island once again?
Looks like Canach will return
I was about to ask who the Sylvari in the concept art is- the whole last karka thing was so badly bugged for me that I never made it as far as Canach- I’ll be mighty kittened if that is supposed to be my nemesis and I never met the dude/chick/whatever before
yes I saw that too and thought yay!
I have a Sylvari Ranger and a female Human Mesmer :P
I also have a female Human Engineer, so there.
I think all race and class combinations are valid and we play what we like.
It really can’t hurt to get some more armour variety into the game- people like being creative.
I hope they are working on a expansion and its a complete new continent.
If it is a new continent would there be 1 to 79 lvl zones?
I am not so sure 1-79 lvl zones would be worth doing…perhaps better to do a continent which is ALL 80th level or perhaps 60-80th level…
I would like to see 2 new classes in a expansion, 1 more heavy and 1 more unique, can wear all 3 types of armour but skills change depending on armour type?!?
2 JP’s per zone at least, some new dungeons if you must (but TRY to make them fun), WvW goodies, some PvP love and a few surprises/shocks…
^^^Buy this tomorrow, instantly…THATS WHAT I CALL A REAL EXPANSION…would pay $60 no problem…
While that would be great you are essentially asking for a whole new game- this one took 5 years to develop, so I think t is fairly safe to say you are out of luck. it is much too soon for all that.
Expansions will come- no idea when but I do not think it will be as soon as this year
a post has a 15 character minimum requirement
Ah, sorry.
I see that there is a thread over in the SouthSun forum for this- so it is yet to come, eh?
Do we know if it is the South Sun arc, it sounded originally to be tied to F&F.
I just really hope it is a nicely done character- my personal favourite of all RPG villain/ nemesis was Jon Irenicus from Baldurs Gate days.
@ Boatdrinks- as a main human I found Trehearne a pita, as a Sylvari he made a lot more sense to me
hehehe Vayne – I’m sure we can guess ;P
As the title says- the personal nemesis was mentioned in this
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/living-story-evolution/
Has anyone run into any such character?
I was very interested in this at the time but with Flame and Frost concluded I must have missed it since I am just as clueless as ever.
Was this character introduced in the MF or is it still to come?
Any info would be much apreciated
see post above
And OMG its morrigan! You still play?
hehehehe yes
let me direct you to this thread
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/What-are-people-doing-in-this-game
I adore my female Sylvari’s running animation- it reminds me of a kid- especially the arms
- I see the dailies, living story and guild missions as evidence of this and those have helped a lot to get people out of FotM.
It is absolutely in their interest to get people out into the world .Yes, and the next thing they are doing will get people to go to Southsun Cove! For about ten minutes! To complete whatever it is that they are doing! Probably hammering in some fence posts or something! Awesome!
Sorry about all the !!!! But I’m just so freaking excited! Southsun! Cove! Hammering! Fences!
Regardless of how not exciting you found the content- did you notice an increased population in those zone?
I did.
I used Living Story as an example of Anets efforts to get people spread out more in the zones- I don’t expect it to be the end of their efforts, simply the beginning.
Btw I am with killcannon in wanting to see more developed meta event chains and more involved events in general -though I do think that will come- it just needs time.
Edit: @ killcannon I just saw your long post- excellent post and I agree 100%
(edited by Morrigan.2809)
I have often wondered why exactly this topic comes up again and again- from my personal experience I really can’t say since I run into people even when I’m hiding in a cave.
The only thing I came up with is that the activity focus of a server, regardless of population might have something to do with it.
Some servers are very focussed on WvW and s PvP and I such I expect them to have fewer people running around in the world.
Other’s might be PvE focussed but concentrate on farming/ dungeons or mega bosses and not so much open world.
People who think similarly tends to concentrate in groups either as servers or just in guilds.
Mirta suggested up thread that it would be helpful to players if they had this info when they selected servers and I think that is an awesome idea.
I think that Anet is aware of the fact that on some servers a large part of the world is being ignored- I see the dailies, living story and guild missions as evidence of this and those have helped a lot to get people out of FotM.
It is absolutely in their interest to get people out into the world because it improves everybody’s experience and I really do think that they will add more things/incentive or whatever for people to do it.
It will be over time however
Someone else mentioned NA vs EU servers too- I have wondered about this myself and it seems to me at least from these forums that in terms of general game play and people just doing stuff for kicks- that EU servers are much more laidback than NA servers.
It would be very interesting to me to have a birdseye view of both so to speak to compare.
I really like it actually- it is very subtle and natural
My Mesmer’s glow is a very pale yellow and quite muted while my ranger’s glow is somewhere between banana and butternut and almost max
I added pics but the forums seems to not want to include the second one- I hope it shows up
(edited by Morrigan.2809)
What I find most interesting about the whole topic is what others choose to display as titles because I feel it tells me something about that person and what they consider a achievement.
For myself I see the HoM skins and titles as prestigious because as someone said it represents a lot of work as well as dedication and loyalty.
I don’t see anything RNG related as prestigious and when I see a character running around with a legendary, T3 armour and the title Golden, I laugh my kitten off- because inevitably that T3 is dyed celestial and abyss.
In GW2 I am hard pressed to actually think about anything I see as prestigious.
Certain dungeon sets, or even better a mix of some dungeon sets.
I have some respect for the little yellow star because it at least says that you bothered to complete the maps- if not explore them necessarily.
Limited time events like holidays also tells how long this person has been around- so if I see a player in town clothes with a Anet cap for instance, I know they played since launch.
If I see someone with combat healer title I know that they see it as important to help etc

But getting distracted is fun…. I had lots of fun before I eventually reached my planned destination two (IRL) days later.
This happens to me all the frickin’ time. I’m off to do a heart or whatnot and I see this very nifty looking mountain, or ruin or ogre fort, whathaveyou, in the distance and I slide off to check that out. Next thing you know I’m on the other side of the map, five hours have passed and I’m nowhere near that heart I was shooting for. It is easy to get distracted in this game even 8+ months (+beta) I’ve been playing it.
hahahaha! you just described me
Just this morning I thought- hey maybe I should just finish Gendarren Fields on my Ranger by lunchtime I was in Plains of Ashford
I get distracted by everything- I will finish up something- see some guy help him out a bit chase nodes around climb mountains next thing you know, you did a cross country
I am not nearly as patient as Vayne.
If I had to reply to some of the things he does to- I’d have been banned from here by now.
Kudzu- it is the ultimate Sylvari Ranger weapon
Sent you a something
Ages ago I converted silk to gossamer to craft my exo set- it was cheap then
I would love them to add more to the open world- more De’s, more meta events, even events spanning several maps.
Many people love dungeons, even though I don’t run them myself, I think that people would love more dungeons with interesting mechanics.
So best of both worlds why not?
I want them to succeed, but they will have to start listening to the players at some point.
The irony, it burns….
Because there will NEVER be enough content for the content locusts in ANY MMO.
Guild Wars didn’t slow people down enough with dungeon DR, so people got all the tokens they ever needed. By creating a more or less open ended experience, like the fractals, Anet may well have saved the game, in spite of the number of people who left over it, or the number of people who are annoyed now. It was a stop gap measure and it seems to have done the trick.
Yes that was the purpose of Fractals and it served it’s purpose and would have done so without the addition of Ascended gear.
People didn’t leave back in Nov because Anet introduced a new dungeon- they left because Anet introduced another gear Tier.
Ascended gear caused more problems than it ever solved
@Vayne
Anet’s recent actions still speak volumes about the direction they are taking. I’m not turning a molehill into a mountain here. I already said many times, it’s still a molehill, and I’d prefer it does not turn into a mountain.
You probably don’t even understand what my concern is, you just generalize me as one who blames ‘vertical progression’ as a whole and one who just ‘got to have the best gear or QQ’. That’s not it. My only problem since the beginning of ascended gear is Agony Resistance and I have little concern with whatever else they have implemented in the game. It’s a lame mechanic that creates artificial challenge and gear check for group play.
Before there was agony resistance, I could group up with pretty much anybody I want to do anything in the game at 80. Somebody on LA says LFG Hotw, I’m in. Someone on guildchat says LFM Arah, count me in! AC all paths? I’ll join!
Now, there’s a small portion of the game where I can’t “just play with my friends” because of the AR mechanic, and I have a feeling that portion will grow soon. It’s irrelevant how big or small that portion is because having even a tiny portion means Anet’s already got their foot in the door.
For me, they can just remove Agony resistance, keep high level fractals more challenging (without the agony mechanic) and appropriately rewarding.
EDIT: Also, you keep insisting I’m one who is resistant to change. Well, not all change is good, and the bad ones I’m resistant to and if a change makes the experience even a tiny bit worse for me, I’ll definitely complain about it. You’re the one who made a mountain of argument over this, when my only concern is, if possible, anet should keep gear checks in the game zero, not “to a minimum”, zero.
The reason why I think it’s a mountain, is because there’s very little evidence, thus far, that it’s going to get out of control. Anet isn’t looking for gear checks, except in that one place. There are more and more ways to get ascended gear and there will be even more. I mean you can get them from dailys, fractals, guild missions…you’re not that limited any more. And dailies don’t take that long…even monthlies don’t. I got my monthly already this month, that’s 10 laurels right there.
The fractals was introduced to fill a certain need and it filled that need. I don’t see this as a trend.
Sure there are more and more ways to get Ascended gear – this implies to me that they would like me to get it.
Why? I don’t do fractals? Am I going to need it to do regular content down the road?
The fear here is mostly that Ascended gear is not the end and that we will have cap increase, more tiers etc.
As for Fractals- it served it’s purpose to keep a segment of the population happy- that could have been done completely without Ascended- it would have been the same dungeon.
If they really felt the need to add an additional mechanic in the form of Agony- they could very easily have allowed exotic gear to be infused with resistance via a Mystic Forge recipe or whatever.
The addition of Ascended and the inability to craft it so far has left the crafting disciplines as glorified leveling tools.
The lack of certain stat combinations in Ascended gear has left us with less build options.
The time gating of acquiring Ascended gear has left us the choice of deciding with character to gear, many people feel that it makes playing alts less fun.
So far to me it looks like instead of giving the game and players more options and ways to play- it does the exact opposite and creates limitations that was non-existent.
The fact that 6 months after the fact it is still so hotly debated gives me an indication that it was probably not such a great idea to begin with.
I agree with most of what he said, it seems when they made this game they were thinking something along the lines of…
“lets take the Guild Wars universe, and make it “appeal” to a more casual audience".
I think this resulted in some major problems that the game is experiencing now. The build meta is boring and unexciting. Everything feels really shallow. This game keeps making me think it was designed for casual players and that playing it hardcore is something you weren’t supposed to do. Why do I think this? Remember at release how there was little to nothing to do once you got to the end. The personal story wasn’t challenging at all and there was little to no endgame. So they start introducing time locked content with dailies, guild missions, diminishing returns, etc. It is like they weren’t anticipating so many people would try to play it hardcore and are attempting to slow players down.
I don’t believe this can possibly be news for you but yes the game was designed for more casual play hence the huge world, downscaling, business model and anti farming methods.
What completely blows my mind is that some people still don’t seem to realise this. The game is not shallow- it is very well designed.
It does not lack content or “endgame” it is filled with it from Queensdale to Orr.What it does not have is a game that magically starts once you hit cap- that forces you to grind levels so that you can get to the top, be the top dog and have the best stats or whatever it is that floats the boat of “hardcore players”
As for shallow- this is actually hilarious because if “hardcore” players were not busy rushing to where ever it is they go, maybe they would actually take a look at the world around them.
Gods I have been playing since the betas and I still see stuff I have never seen before
Don’t get me started on combat- someone wrote a really nice guide at some stage- go read itYes and as we can tell all this endgame content is working, right? It is not like half the zones have little to no people in them. Most population is in WvW, farming in cursed shore, or LA. Oh, the good ol hardcore players rush too much? Yeah that is a good argument, it worked amazingly well for star wars the old republic. You can get snotty and upset if you want, but there’s plenty of evidence in game to find that this game is pretty shallow in a lot. Don’t get me wrong, I got my moneys worth with this game. However, in the aspect of an MMORPG it starts out good, then once you get to the end game there’s nothing really to do. DE need to reward players more once they reach 80 (rares are all fine, but with a TP that has items 50g + and players making 100g+ off of flipping the market or farming CoF, it doesn’t suffice in the economy). DE need to effect the world more instead of just uncontesting a waypoint, like promised. Fractals need to be reworked to not seem so much like a treadmil. Honestly, doing fractals to get ascended gear to do more fractals…really?
I’m done ranting and I wont argue with you any further, just saying I’ve seen your argument a thousand times. I saw it with swtor, APB, and the secret world, and those all were considered quite poor, resorting to f2p and cash shops to try to recover their players (which worked for the most part).
Yes I was snotty and sarcastic and for that I apologise.
I do not agree with you at all however.
I will just say that my main has been 80 since Sept and I have no problem finding stuff to do, or the people to do it with.

@ gfox.
How much can you alter a painting and it still remains the same?
To me if the concept is true even the iteration of the final painting is not tied to my original vision
I feel you but at the same time I understand their process, sure I don’t always agree, which is why I add my voice here,
I think they have made some really bad design decisions in the past.
I do think that they may have a good thing going with the Living World, it really should have been implemented at launch
It wasn’t though, so we are still cleaning up the picture.
Sure, I have no argument with that and I didn’t bring the sims into this discussion- I was trying to say that many people feel the appeal of having their own space. Personal housing provides this.
people also feel the appeal of running and gunning (see call of duty and battlefield sales), however this is an MMO, you have a bank for your personal stuff, everyone having a personal house would take a lot of server space, so is there any valid reason as to why it should be introduced?
ahh.. I was thinking along the original idea that Anet had with the personal instance or whatever you called it.
If that actually expanded and developed according to what you did in game and had your house it would be great. that way you can have your own place but you could customise it, sort of.
I would prefer if we actually had a say but even that would be an improvement

There is a reason the sims sold something like 150 million copies, just saying :P
There is a reason why “The Sims Online” was a complete failure, just saying.
No idea what that was, I was just trying to say that people enjoy creating a personal space.
It is a way for people to connect to their characters, and if you can actually show trophies of your adventures so much the better.
It is on a more personal level than Guild Halls, that is all
There is a reason the sims sold something like 150 million copies, just saying :P
That’s not a valid argument because you are comparing two different target audiences. I bet there are not many, if any, people playing the sims posting messages that they want to have swords and run around maps slaying monsters and doing dungeons as well as build their cities. Then at the end of a day go into a WvW and start fighting players from other servers.
At the end of they day this game works in a manner to accommodate as many play styles as possible but can never accommodate everyone.
Sure, I have no argument with that and I didn’t bring the sims into this discussion- I was trying to say that many people feel the appeal of having their own space. Personal housing provides this.
As a new player with a lvl 12 warrior – Not seeing anyone or any chat is depressing. But the thing I HATE is there is content I will never get to do because there isn’t even 2 people to help me. I played when the game first came out and got a toon to 25 and loved every second because there was a ton of people around. But RL dragged me away. I will keep playing but only because of the environment. GW 2 has the best world environment of any mmo and prob any video game I have played. Just a shame there is alot of it I will never be able to do because no one is around to help.
Ask/talk in map chat you will be surprised.
heck the other day we were singing Beatles lyrics in map chat
Usually there are plenty of people but unless there is a world boss to advertise they are pretty quiet, it does not mean they are not there.
I have yet to find an empty map and I have been playing since betas.
Edit: you might be having the horrible server blues, in which case i would advise shopping around since you can guest for free, transfer if you must
(edited by Morrigan.2809)
Certain things add to the gameplay while others detract. Imo, player housing would detract from GW2. I don’t want a house to decorate. If I wanted that, I’d play The Sims. Guild halls on the other hand can add to the gameplay, depending of course on its design. A common guild-only gathering place is a strategic boon for prepping for bounties, treks, etc. Also, guild halls can act like they did in GW as a small PvP arena. Also, guild halls could be the place for friendly 1v1 dueling and for planting guild banners so that members can use them. They can have a gold-sink built in via banks, TPs, repairs, guild merchant, etc to be bought to unlock.
There is a reason the sims sold something like 150 million copies, just saying :P
Also we are talking longevity in a MMO market, so surely an addition like player housing can hardly hurt the game.
Personally I can’t imagine a kitten storm on the forums saying oh no- they added player housing,
I think it would be the opposite actually
@Vayne
I’m sorry, but, have you ever tried creating something for the long term? heck, I’m just a painter, not a full time developer, but even I have a ‘general vision and direction’ of what I want to achieve when I’m working on something that will take months to finish. Sure the tiny details may change, but the composition and vision does not.
If you’re telling me that the devs having no direction for the game is a ‘good’ and ‘natural’ thing, then, wow, I just don’t know what to say.
Ok first of all the quoting system sucks because I want to include your post and the one directly below you
I can relate to what you are saying because I am a painter too, mainly in oils, because the medium is very forgiving.
When I make a new painting I have an idea, a theme and a vision of how the finished painting will turn out.
Very very rarely have I stuck to this rigidly, in fact my most compelling paintings came from making changes to what was simply not working as I envisioned it.
My husband is a developer, he does the same thing..
Things change, parameters are sometimes not valid anymore.
I think an iterative process is really the only sensible approach to take when you are working on such a massive project as GW2.
This is why we give our voices.
Anet has been extremely creative in dealing with this process, sure some of their iterations are not great but they continue on and keep on trying different things.
This is awesome to me because it shows their dedication and passion for their work.
All we can really do is give feedback
Most of the people who were going to leave because of ascended gear have lft already. The few people who stayed, if they leave, it’s not going to make a tremendous dent in the playerbase. That ship has sailed.
Most of the people who are left behind either don’t care enough about it to leave, or like the progression.
I do not agree with you Vayne- many people were very unhappy about the addition of ascended gear because it was essentially a sop to the players who came from more traditional gear based MMO’s, burned through the content at the speed of light and then shouted MOAR.
Those people made no attempt to actually figure out what GW2 was about and many of them left regardless. Many people did leave the game, some like me stayed because I was not willing to give up on a game I enjoyed because of one massive blunder that I could mostly ignore.
Please note that I do care, do not like the progression and I am sure that I am not alone.
I am watching the state of affairs like a hawk- so far I have been able to continue my game like Ascended does not exist, however hearing people quite happily talking about a raised level cap and even more tiers of gear makes me very very uneasy.I have spent many hours and a lot of gold to get my characters how I like them- if that is taken away from me for the sake of some random numbers that has no meaning, to feed the ego’s of players who like bigger numbers for the sake of bigger numbers- I will be furious.
Add to that if level cap gets raised and another tier of gear gets added the new content will have to scale up to match it.
This will make it harder and eventually impossible for people who do not have the gear to do the content.Ascended gear still smarts for many people- gentle curve is meaningless because it satisfies no-one, not the people who want horizontal progression nor the people who want vertical progression.
It doesn’t matter how gently you rub salt in a wound- it is still salt in a wound.I am sure I am not alone
Its not going away so why are you still here?
Because I enjoy the game?
Why else would I be here?I do however speak out when I do not like something simply because I was under the impression that this forum is for discussing the game.
Which I happen to love. There are two sides to every coin and Anet has the right to know how people experience their choices- it is called feedback
I am just tired about this now there no more need to be “nice” to ppl its been done to death and i hate that some one necro this. The truth is Ascended are not going away they are going to be put out in time. If you have fun with the game then you should still have fun with the game once they are all out.
We would of lost nearly 1/2 of the ppl that play now if they did not add in any type of upwards progression because Anet added in a major side progression and no one seem to see it or they out right hate it.
I know they are going to be putting out more Ascended items- I know why they are doing it.
I can even understand that you are tired of the topic.
I suggest you read the rest of my posts though- at least on this thread.
Or not- as you prefer
