Tried it again, now he survived with 5% hp. It seems like it is doable with a full party of guardians who use protective bubble/shield/tome + heal. Is anyone from EU up to do this achievement? We can arrange some meeting
I think Anet has a straightforward plan for SAB that is already on their timetable. You just have to wait, even though it can take years. They want SAB to be integrated into GW2 story so it does not look like extra game inside of a game that does not match here. They already told us something like this, that they listened to this negative feedback. And as Colin promised that SAB will make return, I assume these above-mentioned things. Just hold on and live your life.
woooooooooooooou, WHERE? HOW? HOW MUCH?
Please, can somebody explain to me how to do this achievement in Dry Top?
I have tried numerous times, both solo, or with many people. Researcher Eway always die from some 2 hit attack and then when he gets ambushed by inquest he always stand in very strong AOEs. I tried everything. Full damage, full healing… nothing works. This is very very hardcore achiev
is it supposed to be like this?
Anet
you finally did it! You fixed precursors, legendaries, empty maps and farming for crafting materials! You are really great, and you just proved that you keep your promises and listen to the community. The problem with straightforward farming for mats was really a big issue for me. Now it will be fun again to just kill mobs and do old events
. I don’t have as much time to play as I used to, but you can expect my money for the Xpack, and many gems :-P
Oh great, I forgot about login rewards. I was looking on the loot tables per specific daily achievement chests.
Does it still drop from daily achievs? I guess not.. :/
More interestingly – what will be the specialization for Revenant? :P did you even think about it?
Does the new profession even need one yet, as it is getting the benefit of designers see what has and hasn’t worked and the additional development time, I can’t think of any profession that would have been the state it is now if it had been delayed to be part of the expansion as opposed to (for some) being rushed to make it for the initial launch.
Of course he doesn’t need it, but you know.. they said that every profession will get a new specialization
Omg, If I knew I wouldn’t progress in my PS
Will they really fix it?
More interestingly – what will be the specialization for Revenant? :P did you even think about it?

Anet? Where is my beta invitation? I thought you already know that my birthday is on the 24th

yes, loading screen picture is smaller and the title of the map is more to the centre
teleport still works, just not if there is some obstacle between you and your target – so you do not get accidentaly stuck in a texture.

Guardians will get longbows

anet listened!
Btw, in the interview for ZAM, Colin says that the specializations were developed mainly to fill up the gaps of every profession. I am not an expert on all the professions, but it is known that every one of them is very great in something and not that great in something else. The specializations allows us to become something what we couldn’t be before, without having to relog into another character. Isn’t that great? I think it is
lol to all of you – maybe the specialization will not be unlocked through masteries but it is still a HoT unlock through doing some content as when Colin says that “you can become a druid” it means you actually have to do something for it…
and by mine “I was right” i meant you won’t lose any of your vanilla skills.

You probably never will

so it seems I was right
You can try running the game on port 80 or 443, but other than that, you’d likely need to use a VPN.
To use port 80 or 443, edit a GW2 shortcut so that the target is like this:
Target: “C:\Example\Gw2.exe” -clientport 80
I love you man. It works.
Please, do you have any advice how to deal with this? I am a visiting student in a university of a foreign country and I cannot login. Somehow campus blocked my access to GW2 but other online games like LoL work!
4 months without GW2 is too long and I am concerned about missing out new content
Okay
so let’s wait and we will see
Ok, so maybe I am wrong. But let’s face it. Do you really thing they have created a completely new classes? Isn’t more ArenaNet-ish to just add more skills?… the similar way they did it in the first game?
I have it from the big announcement event stream video. That is how I understood it when I first heard it. And they really didn’t mention they will take something from you apart from the F1-4 skills and even that is probably just an option for you.
I have a feeling that many people here on the forums didn’t quite get the concept of specializations. I will explain it without many words on one example:
You are a ranger, you have ranger traits and skills. After level 80 you gain some specialization points from doing the Xpack.
There is a new specialization tree for each class (even thought there will be probably just one branch in this Xpack and next one in the Xpack2). You have the first point – you spend it (click) – congratulations! You now have a choice to use new class special F1/2/3/4 ability
2nd point – you can use staff and you automatically unlocks 5 weapon skills for staff druid.
You gain more specialization points – click- congratulations! You have unlocked a new healing spell for your druid.
More points >> utility skills
Final specialization point – click – and now you have the access for a new elite skill!
that’s it… You are still a ranger, but you can use new F-skills, a new weapon and a bunch of new skills from the right half of the action bar.
X-PACK2————
You gain more points from Xpack 2 content, you unlock new skills like mentioned above. You click on a “switch” and congratz! you have Tomb Raider specialization (or whatever the name will be) and now you cannot use the Druid ones, but you still have RANGER ones.

So I was right the whole time.

This is clearly a topic from a bored person who tries very very hard to find something bad about Anet. Your cry won’t matter much as the majority of players will eventually buy it in the end. The game is totally cheap almost every month’s end. You can expect deals like this for HotW, too. After some time….
My body is ready for the new leggies
I have another +5k stored away in alt account/gbanks. this is going to be lucrative
That is just amazing, espically if its all farmed and not bought.
See his 14K gems, i doubt it is farmed
I would say it is too expensive and there are things you don’t even need in your PC…. Also, isn’t i7 more for multitasking than for PC gaming? ….well, it’s your money
and BTW, 32" display is too big – be careful not to have it too close to your eyes
The journey of the hero is filled with trials.
Trials of courage.
Trials of loss.
Trials of war.
Each Forging the hero in the fires of resolve, wisdom, and strength.
Propelling the into the unknown.
This journey never ends.
The hero’s journey is to become legend.

I dropped a few tears of happiness and sadness when I heard this. This is exactly how I understand the concept of a hero. And it makes me both, really thrilled about playing this and forging my legend, but also sad as I kind of wish to live in Tyria for real :-) .
Thank you ArenaNet, for letting dreamers like me to at least touch their fantasies on a computer screen :P.
Sorry, but Caithe has nothing to do with this…. Moving a whole fleet to unscouted location and start canon fire on enemies hidden below the soil isn’t very smart.
My hope still stands.
I hope he died. He totally screwed up.
Was it intended that Trehearne has so frivolously sent the whole fleet out and let it get destroyed like this? How is it that this big general didn’t expect those gigantic plants rise from the ground when even I expected it?
I think Anet just wanted to make the players feel like that they are going to be in a desperate position in the expansion so they feel more excited about it.
No armada, just a bunch of heroes who first need to help Destiny’s Edge and then find Caithe. Fight armies of bad sylvari who don’t belong to the Pale Tree and work as an embassador for The Pale Tree sylvari to protect them from other races who don’t believe them anymore.
But I feel no anticipation. I’m not sure why… but I think that the story is too childish for me or something… I was not surprised at all and found it poorly thought out. Sorry for the criticism, but it is true.
(edited by Mortifer.2946)
So the sylvari who doesnt have pale tree are new enemy…. there will be xenophobic rebels who will be attacking good sylvari… that is interesting
WHAT IS NOT SO COOL is that Treharne used really really complex tactic – he put all his assests on one place without scouting it out first and shouted: FIRE! ………how unexpted that everyone was doomed.
Anet, You either made him totally stupid, or you just don’t see how thoughtless this attack was.
On the other hand, other parts of the this story part were great (aside from boring long killing of ghastly weapons)
Yay, I am so excited! not!
Even if it really is an expansion, it means it will continue with this planty boring dragon…. with more skins for real money and more grind and more content based on filling up lists of achievements for mediocre rewards. Yay….. Btw, where is precursor crafting?

I have two geared up lvl 80s:
Guardian, full soldier set, condi removal build – I can deal with mordrem. It takes a lot of time, it is hard, but it is doable and actually quite fun.
Thief, full zerker – I cannot deal with many mordrems at once, but I can quickly take them down if I manage to fight each 1 on 1. It is hard, but doable and actually quite fun.
I don’t see any problem. If you die a lot, try different build. Zerker isn’t everything out there.
No, I deleted the game a month ago and hoped I will download it again after the FP2….but NOPE, for me the game looks more or less the same, some features are really just fixes (trading post) and some features are not really features (locking game features behind levels). So… enjoy :/
LOL… I stopped playing a month ago, but I go to the forum from time to time to see how it is going. And it is really interesting to just sit back and smile at all those furious reactions to this slowly sinking ship. There are more games and other real life stuff out there
it is not worth to get annoyed because of a few pixels. …I mean, I would really like to go back, but there need to be something valuable added to this game, not just FIXES that should have been there from the beginning, or useless and often annoying changes like the ones that are noted above
Just a question here because I am curious. The idea of the Living World is that there is a storyline that you take part in, that you are involved in events that shape Tyria in permanent ways—how would you all convey the sense of progression and change without also making changes to the landscape? I see a couple of comments regarding creating things, not simply destroying. Do you all have any other ideas?
Hello Regina,
Even though I don’t play GW2 right now, I still care for the game and wait for the big changes the community ask for, and, of course, for the continuation of the great S02.
I would like to react on your question. Changes to landscapes are great, in my opinion. But it would be really nice to see a little progression in rebuilding the destroyed areas. Like, why are the workers who are rebuilding the bridge between the old square where mystic forge used to be and the new site where the MF is now, not finished yet? They should be done already, and start to rebuild other areas… maybe most important would be the gold vault, clearing out the coast so some ships can enter, or to make some defensive structures?
Other suggestion: you can create a sense of progression by changing some old events. NPCs have the same problems all the time, even though 2 years has already past. I know it would cost too much money and human resources to rebuild all the events, but you can throw 2 or 3 events here and there on each release. Maybe to reflect how the conflict between humans and centaurs is developing, or the conflict with any other villain NPC faction. For changes like these you don’t necessarily need to destroy some buildings or change landscape.
Quick short suggestion: when you destroy something in open world, like Fort Concordia, please, make the NPCs around it to react on it. The guards at the Concordia don’t say a word about it…. that is just weird.
And the very last suggestion relating the issue with living story destroying landscape in personal story instances:
I know that the only way you can fix this right now would be adding the old maps, which would make the client very large. So, I have 2 suggestions for you how to fix it.
Option #1: make it an option for players to download the old maps so they can relive the story the same way as we did. Maybe you can also add an option to delete old instanced maps, so they can clear their clients after they complete the story. I believe, the implementation of this solution wouldn’t be so hard.
Option #2: put more effort and resources into this issue and create some tool which would allow you to have just 1 map with multiple versions, which would differ only in a few things. For example, the open world map would have Concordia standing, and in the other version it would be destroyed. That way, it would take only a few megabytes to store such changes.
I think you should care for old personal story as you have put so much effort in making the game easier for the new players to understand it.

Turn it on, ANet.
maybe we grew up
That is accurate.I think we are just growing up and are less interested in games. When i was a kid i played lots of games (not just MMO’s).I dont play much any kind of game now.I still like to play them but its not same feeling as before.Eventually we will get to some age where we wont feel like playing games at all and we will quit. Its natural thing to happen.

Dear ArenaNet,
Great game! Thank you! I look forward to Sept. feature pack.
I recently saw a post about using the living story as a means to shut down all the waypoints temporarily and introduce mounts. This idea supports the notion that gw2 is a dynamic world. Dynamic simply means change. So, gw2 is a changing world. I would love to see this change. Let’s admit it, waypoints are simply a convenience and nothing more. Those people who say mounts will cause people to avoid content have no argument, because that is exactly what waypoints do.
Woodenpotatoes posted a couple of videos on YouTube with commentary about not using waypoints. Everyone should watch this. My friend and I have played that way for a while now and the level of immersion is awesome.
So, here is what I would like to add:
*first give us land mounts to earn! make them collectibles, and achievements of prestige for the difficulty of obtaining the faster and coolest looking ones from a combination of quest chains, dungeons, fractals, living story, ect….
*Second, Anet, don’t be afraid to really mix things up…shut down the waypoints!
*Third, turn Tyria into a seemless world so that all sections of the map can be traversed without having to go through a portal and loading screen. I know this would be a huge technical hurdle, but we have the technology!
*After making Tyria a seemless world, introduce flying mounts (dragons) with aerial combat and content in the sky!Basically, Anet, don’t be afraid to actually make changes. Lion’s Arch was a good start, now kick it up a notch. In another post I suggested a political system that would cause world pvp between the races, again, a forever changing and evolving world! Oh, and please update Orr to reflect the completion of the living story.
Thank you.
Wrong game bro
I just found out that there is a title and the achievement for having character older than 1 year. The achievement is missing in my panel and so is my Loyal title.
Can you fix me? :P
Jenna….always.
Dusk:
supply: 27
buy price: 1340…expect this price to rise to 1550g in a week or two
2000g in September (everything works as intended, right Jon?)
Almost 1451g on FA right now with the same availability of 27. xD
In case of precursors always check buy order prices, and yes – economy is global for EU + US servers
This update was actually short, boring because mobs have too much DPS (not everyone is zerker, Anet), interesting due to story elements, extremely annoying for the way they created Dry Top. I like jumping puzzles, but this is just too much.
