Okay so I love Engineer don’t get me wrong and I played a scrapper a good bit during the last season but I wasn’t good by any means but now that season has ended, all the ridiculously good ones are back in unranked DESTROYING all of my kitten ever no matter what and honestly my only wonder is how the kitten are those boons
I don’t remember being able to hold too many boons topped up yet all the engis I keep running into have full 25 might, and like every boon ever, like, forever
Was that always a thing that I just never saw cause they were hidden in like the legendary tier or was it a recent update that allows that, is it just elixir spam with boon duration? (Even though I already did this a fair bit and didn’t get those results but I read somewhere that cooldowns got reduced making it buffed recently?)
What build does that even? Last boon build I used didn’t get anywhere like that, then again, that was last year during the season when I tried
Yeah, what the title says.
Any builds for PvE/Fractals/PvP that use Scepter as one of mainish weapons? (on a swap is fine I guess)
Meteorologicus is my favourite legendary and want to get it first, so yeah
Egun is the best utility engi has imo. condi clense, aoe heal, mobility, blast, aoe unblockable dmg, perma weakness, range pressure, poison, & a stunbreak.
I prefer paladin to mender, but mortar is an excellent elite slot. great pressure from ranged, & good AOE cleave. plus more combo fields. give it a jam.
i would run the following, with X for elite sometimes depending on the match. S is swappable for purge or C too, but i, enjoy S most of the time.
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vdAQFASlUUhSuY7Ww+KQ7FLTGl4zUABA9fn37dY/kMhFA-TJRIABg9AAkvMAI7PAwFAAAbut, i’ve been playing mostly condi warrior these days.
Haha I suck with condi warrior
Elixir Gun is taken because of the area retal, condi cleanse, and weakness it spreads. It’s the best all-around kit, and it also comes with a stun breaker.
As for those that kite you, it’s one of the reasons I just take the Mortar Kit. Endothermic Shell and a 1500 range AoE attack is super valuable in team fights, and you can leap through it for frost armor.
This is the build I’ve been mostly running: http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?vdAQFASnUUBdpitbBGpC0ehlJjS8ZKgAIc7Smwi+vr79G-TJBFABAcBA6vMQL7PQwDAAA
Against thief/guardian heavy teams I swap out Mender for Paladin.
I’ve use Paladin, Demolisher, and Berserker, never tried Mender
And okay, I just don’t know how to use the Elixir gun then
EG is meta and it is really really strong ( i really love it ) .
I don’t find a great problem the mobility in spvp becouse the fight is around the point. If i am trying to take a point and you run away in any case i don’t chase you to kill you, i prefer to cap the point . If the point is mine and i can not survive the fight usually i don’t try to escape but i try to survive on point as long as i can so that the point remains mine or uncapped as long as possible . It is a completely different story in wvw …
It is? Huh, never thought it was, guess I just don’t know how to properly use it
And yea if I’m defending a point I generally just bunker on the point as long as possible as well
Essentially, mobility. It’s not so much an issue of me not being able to run away but more of an issue of being unable to catch up. Many low-health like one hit from death enemies run away easily when my hammer 3 and 5 is on cooldown.
Is that why the Elixir gun is present in meta builds? For the ranged use when needed?
I run healing turret(burst heal, duh, regeneration, and emergency condi cleanse), bulwark gyro(the protection one), purge gyro(small but sustained condi cleanse), elixir B (boons galore), and Stealth Gyro (throwing it on mid fight so I’m flicking in and out of stealth seems to be fairly effective in confusing enemies)
That’s my usual set up anyway
Generally is really effective but when skirmishing and enemies just run away before death, it’s ugh
(edited by MrThompson.8347)
My first set of gear will probably be Zerker or Commander with Hammer for the sake of WvW.
Second set will be condi for PvE like Fractals and Raids and whatnot but before I get the condi set, How good is Hammer in comparison?
I hear 100% crit is easy to hit with Hammer?
Hell if it doesn’t turn out that bad I may even hold back on the condi set
Sup! What is recommended for Condi engineers is to take Vipers stats, and Sinister stats in the shoulder and in one ring.
Yes, the Sigil swapping triggers when you go from a Weapon to a Kit, and Visceversa, it works as another weapon, so yes, swapping to a kit will trigger your Sigil.
So condi on swap sigils are great then? (EX. The stacks of bleed on swap)
Thanks for the tip on Armour, woulda never mixed in Sinister if I didn’t hear that
It’s only better if you can stay at melee range the whole time, otherwise, if you find yourself being in range most of the time, bringing Sigil of Bursting will be better than the Sigil of Geomancy.
Ooh it has a small range? kitten okay, thanks

What condi set is best, trailblazer’s or viper’s? I do general PvE, dungeoneering, and a lot of Fractals. Gonna be running Dire until I get the insignias to swap.
Second question is On Swap Sigils, do they activate when I swap kits or just when I return to my weapon by putting kit away?
(and yes the sigil cost a lot but will keep up the boons a long time)
What Sigils, and for that matter what runes?
Looks like one of them is Bloodlust.
Runes of The Traveler for boon duration.
The bloodlust looking one is actually the stacks of toughness one but yea swap it for Bloodlust for more damage.
Armour is Commander’s stats for boon duration.
The other sigil I believe is the boon duration increased by 33% when you swap to that weapon, which for engis, is every time you equip or come out of a kit I believe, so you just pop into flamethrower, hit 4, 3 for breakbars and soft cc, swap back to hammer 3 to blast the fire , etc I believe anyway, I haven’t tested yet.
Love it, will definitely be trying.
Can I turn an Ascended weapon with the fractal skin into gold fractal? Or do I throw in the skin itself, or do I have to use an exotic, it’s pretty unclear
I want to level up fairly fast, I have a couple xp boosters and whatnot, yeah
I know about Kessex Hills

force is bleh for most instances. if your are dealing very high numbers though in a sustained dps type role….it has its place. Thats why rifle was suggested as a usage for force since the hits are usually from 10-25+k.
Easiest way to think of it is count up the total damage you do (in general) during 3 second intervals or however long it takes u to proc air usually. If force is higher….go with force over air.
For run and gun pvp type fights air is better generally since you can’t do sustained dps on anyone of value. Its more tap here…wait a bit….tap there….type of fighting. And air is superior given its only drawback is a cd between procs.
Consider also the air gives an adrenaline proc. Really air is the safest bet if you just dont know, can’t go wrong with it atm. When you consider things like fire, thats when you consider whether force is a better option.
Also we dont know what you are running and for what u are running it for. Like whats ur other weapon other than gs? whats ur gear? those are all important things to consider.
I mean in most cases having 2 sigils of air on ur build is a waste. Most would put hydromacy on their gs if they are swapping to and from it enough.Like I put air+force on my rifle and hydro+bloodlust on my gs. for what I do (wvsw) thats really the best damage combination for a spvp sniper build.
Oh okay that makes more sense,
I’m in full Zerker and generally run GS with a switch to Shield/Axe or Mace or Rifle depending on situation, most of the time I’m in Fractals or PvE
Sigils atm is Air and Force on GS, Strength on Shield, Strength on Rifle, Air on Axe, nothing on mace (haven’t bought an Air for it yet), and Air on Rifle
It depends a lot on your crit chance and hit rate which depends on the weapon. For rifle you will definitely want Force, but Axe is better with Air. Even in that case you will want a crit chance of +50%.
But I suspect you play with a berserker setup anyway, so just stick with Air on that Axe. On rifle it’s likely that you will only proc the Air Sigil once every Volley so you would be better off with a Force Sigil.
So the slower weapons will be better off with Force? Thankies!
Now I’m not the biggest expert when it comes to Warrior or PvE but since this would most likely have to do with raids, I’d suggest no, that’s not a great idea. Warriors will mainly want to be on their GS for the fast attacks and the ability to stack might quickly, but the second set is extremely circumstantial (Mace/Shield for hard CC) and will generally lower the DPS dramatically. Air offers decent DPS while Force would possibly decrease the DPS (mace isn’t known for majestic numbers), so I don’t recommend it.
This wasn’t specifically for Raiding and my second set is Axe/Shield or Rifle depending on what I’m doing, but oki thanks
I have Runes of Strength on my armour so I have Sigils of Strength on my non-gs weapons since with the trait my GS already gives might on crit, but point is I’ve been running
Sigils of Strength + Sigils of Air
On GS: Sigil of Air + Bloodlust or Force
Basically my question is should I swap the Air out for Force on my non-GS weapons?
Example: Sigil of Strength + Sigil of Force
After playing an Asura Warrior for a good while I’ve come to the conclusion that upon finishing full ascended I will most likely transfer all of it to either a Sylvari Warrior or a Human one (Possibly a Charr? GASP)
Reason is simple: I’m just not acknowledged as much
I work hard on getting my outfit right and nice looking, getting pretty weapons and all but all complements go towards the tall people around me.
Plus It’s hard to appreciate my look myself, unless I’m zoomed in close staring at it.
Asura just, lacks appeal in the grand scheme for me, R.I.P. tiny ball of pure death.
From exploring these links and such I feel Mystic Forging stuff is for the most part, too much of a hassle to ensure profits.
Instead, courtesy of the link Behellagh, I’ll be giving TP flipping a try, thanks ya’ll for the links and thank you Illconcieved for some tips and tricks in case I ever do attempt Forge again
I finally found a way to make an Asura look like an actual Knight (Realistically, without looking silly) , despite proportions
Only downside is I need a makeover kit to change body types to one with better proportions but otherwise, woo!
(edited by MrThompson.8347)
Now that I’ve hit roughly 200g for the first time in my life time of playing the game (Over a year )
Is there anything on the Mystic Forge, aside from Legendaries, that net a nice large profit that I can do to quickly build up more? Or do I need more than 200g for anything really good?
Just to throw in:
I forgot about one set I love: Chaos
The pure white is amazing to me
Dominator I also love.
Otherwise you guys are doing great except for the few that listed Legendaries anyway, nice to see all the different things, I wasn’t expecting corrupted weapons mentioned, for example
Probably the Gallant set. I’m more of a fan of realistic looking weapons, depending on the character. A personal favourite of mine is the Gallant sword, Jora’s Defender and t3 human heavy on a male.
Yes I love the Gallant skins, same with the Cavalier and Embellished skins, sadly I don’t have the gold to get any lol
Aside from Legendaries, cause they have a special value
What are your favourite weapon skins?
Mine are the Fractal weapons and Golden Fractal weapons, or the realistic look of the Krytan skins.
PvE: don’t bother.
PvP: slow, low DPS, long cooldowns, heavily telegraphed attacks easily blocked/blinded/dodged. Really don’t bother.
WvW: decent in very limited scenarios (big zerg fights) for AoE CC potential. Still a questionable choice and other professions’ elite specs arguably do it better anyways.
Ouch, guess I’ll be keeping my Greatsword switch or my Mace/shield switch, such a shame
Basically, Not that big of a fan of Greatsword, so my main damage set is Axe/Shield with Strength sigils for PS.
Also not much a fan of the mace, so simple enough, how is Hammer? Good in all modes?
(Not home otherwise I would have tested by now)
People can write whole walls of text here, but the best advice i can give.If you already know a “veteran” warrior ask him to duel you and let him explain how to properly use your rotations and show it.If you don’t know one jump in some hotjoins spectate some warri’s and find one that does well, ask him.You will learn your warri best from dueling people, start with a warri and move on to duel the rest of the classes when you manage to get hold of basic rotations and how to stay alive first.
Seems pretty reasonable
carrion mace/torch sword/shield is an utter beast from what ive found.
i suggest you be evasive & aggressive.
if you’re on NA, feel free to whisper me for duels, i been playing warrior for about 4 years now.
Cool may hit you up
Reward in fractal chests. The higher the fractal level the higher the chance. Chances are low though.
Oki thankies, guess I shouldn’t get my hopes up until I can T4 then
You can avoid almost all time gates by skipping the steps that contain them and buy finished pieces. But the more you skip the more the price increases, and if you do it for a full set the increased cost will be rather substantial(several hundred gold).
Thankies!
I’m nearing 500 Armoursmith to start on my very first ascended set, question is the stuff you can only craft once per day, is that avoidable by buying the finished mats or do I just need to start crafting those mats ahead of time
I see you get one from the achievement but outside of that, how do you get more? Is it just a random drop from the Fractal reward chest?
And for the Golden ones, how many pristine relics can you get a day and how exactly are they gotten? They’ve always confused me, but I really love the look of them!
I’ve been enjoying Warrior quite a bit however
I am so lost in PvP
Have used a meta build and still got lost and couldn’t do much even 1v1, could be that I’m just new to the class so I don’t understand anything in PvP but regardless, any tips?
Correction (of my previous now deleted post). The two intermediate steps are account bound but the final precursor can be traded. But I believe you can only craft one of each precursor unless this got changed recently.
GW2Efficiency’s craft’s page on precursor/legendary crafting shows you the crafting price relative to the TP price.
Oh cool, thank you for the site that’ll help me keep track of how much I need in the first place!
I’m really anxious for my first Ascended piece, all I need is 60g to finish it up, please and thank you!
Alternatively, The Chosen precurser would help a ton to speed up my very first Legendary, though not too worried about that at the moment cause I’m still working on Ascended, but would help a lot <3
Desire: 60g or The Chosen
(edited by MrThompson.8347)
As I start working on Ascended armour I’m also starting some precurser collections, my question is if a crafted precurser like that is tradeable and if I can make some profit from it if I wanted?
How many pages can you get per day from dailies? Only 1? Need to know how long my ascended will take
Tbh, much of the information you’re seeking can be found in emkelly’s Warrior 101 thread stickied above. The warrior is a solid choice in all the modes.
As far as raiding is concerned, I believe the PS build is still the preferred warrior meta people want/expect.
~EW
Oh my god that’s a lot, thanks a lot
Bummer…and gratz?
You may save some wrist/arm fatigue.
Good luck.
I think I already have some if not more, using a tiny wireless keyboard for my laptop which can’t play still and I already had hurting wrists from Baton practice in my Law enforcement class
So in a very frustrating turn of events, My Hard Drive died the second day of Halloween event.
and Overnight, so woke up excited to make more moneys off ToT bags and whatnot but
NOPE
Which sucks cause I never had much money in the first place and my goal is Dawn.
Either way, yeah. Ordered a new Solid State Drive to replace the broken Hard Disk Drive and had used 2 day shipping but because of the weekend, it turned into “Arrives on Monday” bullkitten.
The extra wait isn’t terrible and I will probably still be able to make a considerable amount of gold off the event in the remaining time on the event but still, I was quite kittened.
So, Warrior is one class (Next to Thief, Mesmer, and Revenant) that I don’t have lv 80 or any sort of extensive trying out so figured Warrior would be next on my list (I REALLY love my Ranger/Druid though)
So mainly how is Warrior in the 3 game modes, including Fractals
and More important, how good is Warrior for Raiding? I want to get into Raiding but no one really wants me as a Druid, I just get the usual “Not great support/team complement”
So definitely a plus if I can get into Raiding as a Warrior, the class looks fun, not as flashy as Guardian but still equally brutal!
Weapon wise, it seems to be one of the more useful Shields which is nice cause I really love the look of Shield/mh, it’s a really good looking combo! from looking around Axe mainhand seems to take that spot for most people but Mace for defensive play and switch is Greatsword or Hammer from what I see, or Rifle if built gunflame
Otherwise yeah, some information would be lovely before heading into a new profession, especially if I get super into it but learn it’s bad at PvP or WvW or especially PvE, I love all modes and it’d suck if I can’t enjoy each. I love my Ranger but the same as Raiding, in WvW I get neglected.
As far as wvw is concerned, the big thing is that unlike LB1 and LB2, Staff1 is not a projectile.
AKA won’t be reflected like the arrows? I can see how that’d be great. Many times have my LB burst been negated and have to swap to my GS burst
So for a long while, I couldn’t stand staff, it felt bulky and just not that great but after using it for a whole day I’ve found out that the auto attack is surprisingly strong- like- Longbow auto at full range strong
After learning that I figured out a decent attack rotation with my GS switch
Quick Zephyr + Auto lazer = Big burst
From there, Staff 4 to immobilize, staff 2 for the healing orb, swap to GS, GS 3, GS 2, then GS 5 to stun if possible, if not then just auto and use GS 2 when off cooldown
When Quick Zephyr is off cooldown- Celestial avatar, Cele 5, Cele 4 for healing and stacks of damage, swap to staff, Zephyr, Auto lazer
Rinse and repeat, this has worked great for me to pump out a great amount of damage and it has made Staff really grow on me.
The only thing I’ll miss about Longbow is the 1500 range sniping.
Oh and GS 4 to block ranged attacks or knockback a melee enemy before swapping to Staff
Awhile ago, a little after HoT’s release, I made a Warrior to try out the class and in PvE it was pretty fun but felt really hard to use in PvP, and there was hardly any warriors even seen in PvP, this saddened me cause I do a lot of all modes, some days I do only PvP, some days only WvW, and some only exploration, so this sorta of nudged me away from Warrior and I made a Guardian
I’ve seen a good bit of Warriors in PvP and WvW lately, with a variety of builds from Condi to Power, and some of them were reeeeeally good, so I’m thinking of re-making a Warrior since it was a lot of fun
So, any tips or tricks I should know about? (Besides the obvious look at Meta to have an idea and template for builds)
Figured, I definitely noticed other traitlines and the benefits of Scrapper not helping anything but the Hammer much, that’s good to know though! Thanks for the build template for Rifle
I probably will never be able to stack a lot of might or the other things as I find it all confusing but maybe now and then I’ll try to figure it out a bit, thanks again!
Its just getting use to when to use skills.
– If you are dpsing, use OS right before Fire bomb.
– If you are removing a break-bar, use fire bombe before BoB.
– When fighting enemies with break bar, save your burst (blunderbuss, jump shot, prybar) to right after you stun the opponent, as they get extra dmg.You can contact me in game if you need any help.
(but I live in NZ and got weird play-times)
Could probably take tips in game as it’ll be easier to see in person some time, would be nice
This would be epic as a second Elite Spec
!
