What KILLED Warhammer Online for most people was the absurdly HORRIBLE engine that couldn’t give you a decent framerate on ANY hardware!
I even went back to Warhammer a few months a go, on a system that is likely 10x more powerful than I had before, and the game STILL suffered crazy stuttering and FPS drop issues.
On the other hand, the Warhammer world was SOOOO much more interesting that the world of GW2, just thinking about it makes me want to go back to WAR.
Would you like some cheese with your whine?
I suspect digital sales have got to the point where they substantially outweigh box sales. That’s the world we live in.
Sadly, GW2 cannot kill WoW. Maybe that’s because WoW is undead rather than being alive. If ever there was a game resembling and unstoppable zombie, WoW is it.
GW2 on the other hand (to me) resembles a member of a Star Trek away team we’ve not seen before. It only remains to find out if he is one of the ones who turns out to be the guest star of the episode, or is he the nameless schmuck who gets phasered 5 mins into the story.
Please don’t tell me you are actually gullible enough to believe that the digital sales actually outweigh the retail sales………………………
So we are all going to assume that the release of WoW MoP has absolutely NOTHING to do with the decline?
Ohhh cmon people, there is a reason for a sharp decline of GW2, and it’s pretty obvious its because of WoW MoP.
Don’t worry though, by the time those people get tired of their pokemons and Kongfu pandas, Anet will make some FREE new content and they all will jump back.
I shouldn't be punished for forgetting to res b4 logging out of WvW

I agree with others.
There are WAY more important issues to handle right now, and not “punishing” you because YOU forget to res yourself is not one of them.
I cast my vote on Jormag, only because of the large Pact activity working around him. The Kodan also make more noise about Jormag.
People mention expansions for other dragons and I like that thinking. A lot of the map is not open yet, from the rest of Maguuma to the rest of the deserts.
Yes I’m biased, I’m a norn and made one just to fight Jormag.
I think it will be Jormag as well.
I have not been through all the zones in GW2. But going through Human, Charr and Norn zones has really made me think that Jormag will be the next fight!
Jormag is just simply putting out too much influence in the Norn zones. Unlike the rest of the world where no other dragon(that is NOT in the game) that exerts so much influence.
I think the writing is on the wall as they say.
No support, It would be a hassle to re-key bind every time you made a new char
So its a hassle to rebind your keys with every new character, but relearning your keybinds because of a drastically different play style of different classes is NOT a hassle?
I Support this!
The more options we have the better.
Yeah sorry about that, I suppose I jumped the gun on this one
In a way I do agree with him that the skill points can be easy because of others.
But on the other hand, the skill points aren’t really easy either, I think the point of making them public was that is someone couldn’t beat them alone, they could get help.
And I actually would be happy is we could get BOTH of these. Perhaps another sort of skill-challenges added to the game that you can only do solo, and get a reward for them as well.
Seriously?
You were not able to do any of them solo?
Thats odd, I always thought that the skill challenges were there to test your skill, and playing on my Guardian and Engineer, I was able to do MOST of them solo.
Some I was not able to do solo simply because when I did them, there were people around and they helped out.
And on the topic of challenge.
They did provide me with quite a challenge, every one of them forced me to use every skill in my disposal and forced me to dodge and run around waiting for my skills to go off cooldown.
So I honestly don’t understand why you were not able to do them solo.
Maybe you tried to face roll through them, without spacing and dodging.
Or maybe the Engineer and Guardian are simply a better PvE characters.
People say that this game does not require skill or anything, I think they are wrong, proper spacing, and utilization of your skills makes a world of difference, there is a reason why I was able to take on a ranger and a warrior 2v1 on my Guardian yesterday and come out victorious, and its not because the Guardian is omfgbbqsause OP, but because people don’t utilize their skills properly and don’t pay attention, and think that just clicking auto-attack and blowing all your cooldowns at the same time is the way to win, it is NOT.
+1
[Skills should be captured by mobs argument]
Like in Guild Wars, we unlock a new skill called “Signet of Capture” to put anywhere in our skill bar. Upon the death of a specific mob, we can use the “Signet of Capture” to capture a new skill for our class.
Skill capturing will be great because it will add a needed diversity to the game. Don’t get me wrong, the game has plenty of diversity, but more wouldn’t hurt.
I’m really not sure how this could be considered even close to exploiting????
If this is exploiting then so is almost every DE in the game… The giant spawned grubs, the grubs did high damage, you killed them or you died. eventually the giant died as well, the event took 20-30 minutes. Replace Giant and Grub with Base and “creature” and you’ve effectively just called the entire DE system an exploit lol.
I guess people are upset that they didn’t know where to farm and now the spot is gone.
The more Anet nerfs and tries to kill farming the harder players will look for farming spots. If you are going to require 500+ items for something and you keep nerfing the drop rate down to 1-2 an hour then people will just look for another place to farm.
If they do manage to nerf ALL the farming spots then people will just leave because the effort isn’t worth it anymore.
Of course by the logic of the people here it seems that they should prevent all mobs from dropping loot because apparently getting loot is an exploit.
Again, like I said before, you just sound like another hacker or an exploiter that comes to the forum trying to sound innocent, like you had no idea that it was an exploit.
Ohh and nice try with that false equivalency there.
You compare a finite waves of monsters that you kill in order to complete the event, to an infinite wave of monsters that don’t stop spawning as long as you don’t kill main boss.
Sorry buddy, you are just going to have to admit that there is NO way to spin this situation to make it seem less of an exploit.
But I will admit you are pretty good at it, perhaps there is a job at FOX that you can apply for.
GOD the people on this forum are unbearable!
Seriously?
You were doing something that is the very DEFINITION of the word “grind”!
You were killing the same monsters in the same place over and over and over again for a long period of time to farm their drops.
And when they fixed an EXPLOIT, you come here and cry that the game is just a “grind” now?
This is so stupid I can’t even begin to describe how stupid it is.
I am now, more than ever convinced that the people who complain on these forums are nothing but the crybabies that will cry about anything.
Ohh and btw, you remind me of all those hackers that come to the forums and cry about how they didnt do anything wrong and how they have no idea why they could possibly be banned!
You EXPLOITED something in the game, and now they have fixed it.
Stop crying about it, and thank ArenaNET for not banning yourkitten
Why not add mounts?
I don’t get it, what would be such a big deal for all those people who say no?
I would also like flying mounts added too.
But of course only make them usable in an area where you did 100%.
Seriously I don’t see the big deal! I would love to have some kitten horse or a bear to ride around on!
People need to stop being so uptight about things, so what if we have a teleportation system? I thought this game was more about just playing and having fun? And mounts can bring people more fun, so why not do it?
Hmm, tough choice when bots have already circumvented the entire anti-farming code and are currently rolling in items and gold
Care to explain that?
I haven’t gotten to play GW2 this week up until today. So I finally log on to farm me some karma in Orr. After one hour I notice I’m barely getting loot. I’m lucky if I get 1 white salvage item out of 10 undead killed.
So I ask… Why am I, a faithful player of the game being punished because of bots? Can I not play the game without being forced to leave what I’m doing every hour?
Ok so here are ANET choices.
Make farming a bit more inconvenient for a small minority like you and stop the bots from royally screwing over the economy, while looking for a better solution.
OR
Do nothing about it, let the bots ruin the economy, and thus ruining the game for EVERYONE! And in return, they don’t get to hear you whine on the forums?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Tough choice indeed.
Ohhh and on a more serious note.
“Punishing’ you? Ohhh coooomeee oooon people, GET OVER YOURSELVES, its a freaking game for crying out load, stop being so melodramatic and acting as though someone just rapped your sister and ANET is letting them go scott-free or something.

In WoW……..You cannot even notice DX11 being there tbh
Ok I agree with most of your post dude, except for this line here.
The fact of the matter is that GW2 looks GOOD as it is.
So I don’t want them to add Dx11 just so we can have some stupid unoptimized tessellation or some other Dx11 feature.
Why I want Dx11 is for the PERFORMANCE!
You say Dx11 is hardy noticeable in WoW? You know why? Because the only thing they took advantage from Dx11 in WoW is the performance increase that Dx11 hardware with Dx11 API provide.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/world-of-warcraft-cataclysm-directx-11-performance,2793-7.html
Check this website for some info, the info is a bit old, I know, but should be good enough.
I personally saw around a 40-45% increase in FPS, when I switched to the Dx11 client in WoW, and that was a looooong time a go, so the performance could have only gone UP since then!
So to ArenaNET: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE add Dx11, but DONT do it for some nonsense tessellation, do for the performance of the game.
Ohhh and just an FYI, just because other MMOs don’t have a proper SLi configuration does not excuse ArenaNET for not optimizing the game properly for SLi systems.
I hope DX11 and SLi support is in the near future!
Because I can bet that ALOT of people who are running this game on a laptop with a Dx11 GPU can us a good 20-40% bump in their FPS.

What could they POSSIBLY do to reduce the queue times dude? Seriously.
There is nothing other than these 3 options.
1. Promote server transfers so that the amount of people in the queue is less.
2. Expand the amount of people that can enter WvW, which would be stupid! Especially since you are already complaining about getting stemrolled by larger servers!
3. Add more content to the game, and expand the battlegrounds. This is the only reasonable thing to expect if you are unwilling to switch servers. but obviously this will take time.
Well according to you, WoW is just as big of a grindfest as GW2, so why not?
Citation needed.
ou’re missing the point – running a 5 man dungeon 100+ times for 1 set of cosmetic gear is a much better design than being rewarded with better loot after 3+ 25 man raids.
Ok, so now this is the part where you ask me to provide you word for word proof, and that this quote is completely misunderstood.
WOW what horrible, horrible liars!
You know what you should do?
You should do the ultimate form of protest!
You leave and never come back!
Once ANET realizes that they have lost one of their most valued and most renown members, they will see the error of their ways and make progress on fixing up the game!
But before you leave, make sure you make an “I Quit” thread on these forums!
A lot of people here will appreciate it and will be really, really sad to see you go.
Where to? We should go back to WoW where we are allowed to criticize GW2’s manifesto being completely contrary to its delivery?

OK so its been like what 3 week?
You are telling us that you are upset because you can not have the best of the best items in 3 weeks?
In an MMO?
Seriously?
I’m lvl 61 right now, and I am enjoying the game to it’s full extent! And I will be playing this game for a long time to come.
The problem that you have is that you just simply burned out on the game! You most likely played for 8+ hours a day, every day and now that you are bored of it, so you cry and cry.
Sorry dude, but it’s not our problem that you think you are entitled to everything right away, and that you think you should be able to beat the game within the first month!
Besides, I have a feeling that you are the type of person that goes to the forums of every new game that you buys to kitten about something!
And I can tell that if you did get your wish, and you actually would acquire the best items in the game, you would be here right now complaining and crying about how short the game is and how you have nothing to do because you beat it all.
While I’m happy that more people will be able to play this game, I’m not exactly sure that there is a big enough audience on the macs to bother with such a huge investment of time.
Maybe you guys should work on implementing some proper SLi support? Or maybe some Dx11 support?
OR BOTH?
The performance level of GW2 as it is right now is pretty bad. Implementing Dx11 could fix a lot in terms of performance. We don’t need to have tessellation or any of that other stuff, just the optimizations that Dx11 hardware provides.
When WoW implemented Dx11 my frame rate jumped 35%-50%, we need that same think for GW2, especially since pretty much ALL new laptops come with some kind of Dx11 GPU.
Come on ANET! You’ll be the next Warhammer Online if you fail to optimize the game.
You open up your map and you zoom around and you will see numbers on the map like 30-40, 15-25, ect.
Those indicate the level range of monsters and quests in that area.
I personally did not play Sylvari so I don’t know what area they have that is in your lvl range.
I did however play human and Norn, and based on those two I can say that the personal story did bring me to the next lvling area. I can’t imagine it being different for Sylvari.
Ohhh and inb4someoneasksiftrollin?

It’s intellectually dishonest to call something perfect when there’s a sizable portion of relevant users who think it’s severely flawed
You call someone “Intellectually dishonest” while at the same time strawmaning their argument and trying to it look like he said something he didn’t.
Maybe YOU should go and look up what it is to be “Intellectually dishonest”?
At the same time could you please give us some insight as to what is a “sizable portion” that you are talking about?
Just about every reviewer out there, including user reviews praise ArenaNET for taking a new direction with the quest system!
So where is this sizable portion you are talking about? I don’t even see any forum posts besides your that complain about the quest system!
And from my very long experience on official forums for many many MMOs, I can tell you that you people will kitten and moan about ANYTHING, and your thread is most likely one of the biggest examples of that yet!
Ohhh and while your at it, could you describe to us whats a “Relevant user” is?
Because I really like when some pretentious a-hole comes around and thinks he gets to decide who’s opinion is relevant and who’s isn’t.
(edited by Naminator.9316)
As most people by now, I have read the new blog entry from ArenaNET where they talk about the economic status of GW2.
And while the title was named ’State of the GW2 Economy" it was pretty sad to see that almost no information was given about the actual state of the economy.
But this is not what the topic is about.
I want to talk about this little quote from the blog post:
“The problem was the 1.46 million weapons purchased by 4,862 players, which averages over 300 weapons per player. There is a fundamental difference here between players who got a cheap weapon and players who found a bug in the game and took advantage of it. The latter attempted to create wealth for themselves at the expense of the other millions of players that are injured by exploiting behavior.”
So while I know that the blog said that ArenaNET is taking these matters seriously, I seem to miss the part where ArenaNET mentioned if these people were pushed for their exploitation!
So what I want to know is this, were these people punished? were they banned? did they have their gold removed from them? Or were they just let off with a warning?
What happened to them?
