Yeah, you a re right, it shouldn’t be that way. You shouldn’t have to feel that way, too.

Humm.. I can imagine that it is pretty annoying that it doesn’t work properly, but it is game breaking for you?
Another issue (that is indeed game breaking for many players) has lots of pages, thousands of replies and there is less communication from devs than in here.
So – compared to that – I would think your are provided quite good with information about what’s happening.
I think they will do their best to fix it (including a fix for the already opened ranger boxes) and update you again when they are ready. ^^
I feel very sorry for you, but it isn’t the biggest issue we have right now ingame that should be solved ASAP, is it?

Have you been able to loot them?

I see a lot of chest sometimes, but they are not meant for me…

Which level is your 4th armor piece and which level does the rune require?
Maybe you had (for example) 3 armor pieces with lvl 40, but the 4th was still 36.. when you try to apply major runes that require the armor to be at least level 39 you will not be able to put in on the level 36 armor piece.
Possible solution: After you transmuted the armor to an appropriate level it should work.

The “doing it wrong” argument doesn’t make any sense, because if that would have been the case, we would have done it wrong since we started playing gw2.
But – guess what? – we didn’t have to complain before the 15th November patch went live due to getting normal/ decent loot. That shows we didn’t do anything wrong to qualify for decent loot.
We also didn’t change all at once how we played since the 15th November to be not longer qualified for good loot or whatever…lol

You should try to charge Anet for the license. :-D

I have that too. Pretty annoying if you cannot see where the foes are and you have to guess (because you know where they should spawn) and kill the invisible mobs. At the time they are visible for me, they are nearly or already dead. (Nice that I am allowed to see how they collapse xD)

It happens when there are a lot of players 10 or maybe 15+. ^^

I forgot to mention that we experienced the following thing:
Your loot improves slightly if you switch your weapons from time to time.
Can anyone else confirm this?

Maybe it is perceived, but you could try that.. for example if you are a necro playing with scepter + dagger switch to your staff or as a guardian switch from greatsword to scepter and torch.. or whatever you like..

I think you will only notice a difference if you do not often switch weapons..

I just want to see how much and which quality your loot has when you are not affected by the event DR.

It could be that you are getting less (quality) loot due to your active event DR. If that is the case, you have possibly more and better quality loot, if you don’t have the event DR active.
That would mean, I am getting as much loot as you, but with no DR active while you have it active (which in my opinion logically would decrease the loot too).

I would be very interested in a vid about a normal run when you are NOT affected by the DR.
Maybe that’s possible?

I watched this one. And I thought the loot seemed to be ok.
Then I looked at your reward for the event (gold medal; ~ 5000 xp; 113 karma; 56 c) and that indicates you have DR active for farming events in Orr?
Does that also affect your loot?

My loot is sometimes quite similar, but I have NO active DR showing. I got full reward (gold medal; ~17k xp; 378 karma; 1s xx c), but similar loot?

So my question is: If I have event DR active, does that also affect how much loot I get and which quality?

You’re lucky that they did it this way. You could have ended up with a rifle and be disappointed by that very much.

I don’t understand why we can see other player’s chest. It would be great if that wouldn’t be possible.

And then please just put in rares or exotics.. it is very annoying if there is indeed a chest that is for me (I don’t know when it is one for me, so every time I see one I try to loot it.. 50% of time it is not for me ^^) and then it contains something like:
- porous bones
- salvageable hide

Not amused.
If you can’t do it right, please undo the chest thing.

We also experienced that. But in our case we do not only have warriors and guardians there but also some fire elementalists that are contributing their high dps.

I am not trying to get loot there with my mesmer anymore. ^^
Normally as a wellomancer you can get loot. (I am not talking about decent loot or high quality loot, but it is not as bad as with my mesmer)
But yeah.. however it’s getting worse.. maybe because people switch to their warriors and eles due to that issue and that makes it worse for the rest of us not farming with these classes. (Sometimes I do these events with my ele, but usually I’ll take my necro)

Another observation we’ve made was that if we are only doing theses events together (two people), most of the time there will be just as little loot as in a really big group (let’s say 10+).
The best loot results are when doing these events with around 6 – 8 people. (I think, maybe the numbers are not correct)
On top of this, if we group up to five people, loot quantity and quality increases. And it also depends on how much people are there in total.

Another problem is that most foes are dead before you can see them.^^

That was quite interesting as well as confusing/ disturbing (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Dragon-chest-bugged/first).
It contributes to the buggy DR issue.
And again too many questions remaining…
Chests can be (un)intentionally affected by DR? (It seems they don’t know how exactly that happens/ is connected if they have to examine it?)
We can get hit by DR when doing an event before fighting against a dragon?

Although this obviously seems to be a bug, it could indicate that DR is more complex or wide-spread than we thought.
And if these chests can be affected by (a buggy) DR, it doesn’t seem too delusional to consider whether the boogeyman DR is haunting some players due to a misbehaving DR. It also could be a working as intended DR, but then it is way too harsh, because it affects legit players in such a way. Regardless if they are farming or not.

It’s not done by saying “there were no changes”. Not really.

Please communicate more with us, tell us (the affected player) whether we can hope for an improvement with that loot/ DR situation that we are experiencing or NOT. Regardless if you have intentionally changed something or not. It’s happening, it’s affecting some players. Players that want to play your game.

Just wanted to give a quick update on this topic. We’ve completed verifying every update from the november release, and there were zero changes to anything what so ever that would have negatively affected loot in any way/shape/form. We can officially confirm this as an X-files level conspiracy at this point.

We’re in the midst of evaluating every loot table in the game and running massive random roll evaluations table by table, as well as evaluating every system game wide that causes a player to qualify for items to determine if any issues exist in those systems from launch.

Will update again when we have another round of concrete information.

You say “Everything seems to be fine.”
We say “Please, look what we are experiencing.”
You say “Cannot be. We didn’t do anything.”

What you sometimes seem to neglect is that WE play your game, we pay with money for gems, we populate your world..
If you won’t start to address this IMPORTANT issue, it will be game breaking for us players and you will lose some players that would have loved to play your great game :-(.
You fling remarks about like “perceived” or “x-files level conspiracy” and behave in such an insulting way that I cannot understand how you dare to do so as a company.

In the end it doesn’t matter if you changed something or not. You should care for us and improve our situation regardless if your data show exactly what did happen or not.

We didn’t start on purpose to gather and wanted to complain how bad everything is. There were a lot of people that experienced something happening with/ after the 15th November patch.

This is not a campaign to get more and more and more loot.

We want to have decent loot again, a reason to stay and play.

Even now after your posting I didn’t lose hope that you will care for that player base that is experiencing this issue. You’ll find a solution. <3

Anyway, could there be the possibility that DR is messed up (for some players)? Or is really everything working as intended?

The new laurel reward for monthlies starts with february, not january.

Questions:

1) Can we see other people’s chest? Why?
2) I got a chest in Orr and it contained a porous bone. Seriously working as intended?

I am serious about that chest content.

I also had other chests..
I think:
- two contained a yellow one
- one had a green piece
- one a blue one
- I am not sure whether I got one with crafting material.. if yes.. nothing special
- and my last one was the incredible great loot: a porous bone

I got a chest! Hurray!

As the others mentioned above the higher the runes the higher the level requirements for the armor.

Do you have 75/75?

I’ve seen a chest, too and couldn’t loot it/ pick it up.

Can we see other people’s chest? So it wasn’t meant for me?

I’ve seen a chest at penitent camp in Orr, but it didn’t drop for me. (If it was meant to drop for me, it was not lootable. Can wee see other people’s chest?)

Do you want to know whether the quaggan backpack can only be bought over the next few days/ weeks or will stay permanently in the gem shop?

You could also decide first for a race and an armor level (light, medium, heavy -> http://www.gw2armor.com) and then have a look what could fit.

If that doesn’t help, write the profession names on papers and take one with your eyes closed and stick to that one for the next 40 levels.
You will get a much better feeling what prof is for you or not by playing them a lot more than it seems that you’ve done.

Yes. You need 39+ armor pieces.
The easiest way for you now seems just to buy some cheap green 39+ armor, transmute it with your cultural one (if you want to keep the cultural look) and there you go, you will be able to put the major runes in.

The major rune of divinity requires level 39 armor and above. The superior requires level 60 and above. (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rune_of_Divinity)
What level are your armor pieces?
It sounds like you wear mixed level armor and two of these could use the rune, because their level was appropriate and two were not.
Is that possible?

And if you bought cultural tier one it is 35 and you cannot use runes that require 39, unless you have transmuted them to a higher level (39+).
