Hi,
it seems that it doesn’t work on Drakkar Lake [DE]. Mad Mardine doesn’t offer the option to use the cattlepult and it seems that the event with the harpies doesn’t trigger.
We’ve completed the zones together with our asura elementalists and I also noticed a “funny” reward behaviour.
After beating Tequatl I received a yellow “Carrion Verdant Bow of Water” and after completing the zone (~ 10 minutes later) I got a “Carrion Verdant Short Bow of Water”.
BUT, indeed – compared to Tyr – it seems I had very good luck, because one was a short bow and one a long bow. ^^
Yeah, but it doesn’t seem very likely that they would balance it that way, does it?
And if they just want to “nerf” damage/ duration/ cd/ whatever they shall do it for pvp and stay away from pve.
I agree. Please consider to split more into pve and pvp versions.
As a pve mesmer I just want to be viable and competitive in openworld pve (eg. DEs) and sometimes dungeons. I want to contribute in group fighting. =)

Change whatever you think you must change, but please split more into pvp and pve versions. Consider that there exist also a lot of pve mesmers who want to contribute in group fightings with other players in DEs, dungeons and openworld.

Thanks for communicating, but you really should read it by yourself. There are so much data and hints included, yeah sometimes they may sound just perceivable for you.
But there was something happening to the loot rate/ DR with the 15th November patch, if you intended to do so or not.
The entire thread is going to show you what we noticed, immediately after the patch hit. Read it.
If you then think it is still perceived, tell us again. Be sure, you’ll lost a lot of legit and honest players (and also paying customers) who wanted to play a fun and rewarding gw2 (like before 15th Nov patch) and wanted to help you out with providing data as accurate as they can.
Please bear in mind: You cannot demand concrete data, we are players, not your database.
I still like you and I am convinced you will do your best to fix it. Whatever “it” is, may it be decreased loot rates or may it be a messed up DR.
Loot rate is still worse since 15th November (yes, I am On-topic!) and DR seems to trigger without any reasonable reasons for some of the legit players.
Well, that means it doesn’t only affect openworld pve, much more it also affects dungeons?

We already knew the issue with loot/ DR for pve content, but I always thought players doing fractals or dungeons will nearly automatically receive good loot (compared to openworld).
It just got into my mind.. they could have done it way more pleasant for the player who need to “farm” these dungeons due to the high token costs of the desired armor.
So how they could have handled it:
Whenever and how many times you want to run a dungeon you can do that until you can get one full armor set. Say the limit is 1200 tokens. So when you’ve done the dungeon that many times to reach that amount of tokens it will have a countdown, DR or whatever.
Why did they made the armor pieces where you have to farm for a lot of tokens, when you are restricted in when and how you can achieve that?
It doesn’t make any sense.
And this would seem to be the way ANet wants you to play this game. One of the game designers even said that.
The way I see it ATM is that the more you move around the better the average loot you will get. Farming is OK, however, NOT IN THE SAME SPOT OVER AND OVER.
This is the way I understand what ANet is trying to do.
This is what I am doing (changing characters, changing zones, etc.) and I am affected.
And trying is simply not enough as soon as it affects the normal legit player, who wants to proceed in pve content, and punishes him for playing a game. We are not really talking about “serious” farming at this point (doing one event twice shouldn’t trigger the DR, should it?)
(I have to admit that I had some lucky streaks over the last days and I will observe it, if there was a change for me or not.)
I agree and already reported it.
For me it is an euphemism to keep the “better looking” name which does not even to some extent reflect the serious conversation about problems and issues with the DR mechanic in the other thread.
To make it simple:
“Why the current DR is a good thing” IS NOT THE SAME LIKE “DR – An analysis of Observations”
I assumed that it is not easy to demerge the merged threads, so I suggested to change the title into something neutral like “DR – discussions”. It is not really acceptable compared to before, but at least it isn’t misleading and an euphemism.
Anet can have it back… it is only worth 75 silver. I can’t wear it (although my alts can wear it.. at least three of them ^^) and it has a useless rune in it xD
Well, no, it is okay and I am a little bit excited. But it counts as a dungeon reward and not as open world pve content?

I am not farming. I have 12g. I play since pre-release and daily.
It is in each area where I want to proceed in pve content. Sometimes I go to Orr and make one event chain, that is what I call farming for myself. It it <1h and there are rarely good drops.
I do not need 5 rares/ minute, but I should be able to get at least one after I did a few dynamic events and killed lots of enemies.
It follows me. Maybe it mistakes me for a bot? Dunno.
Yeah, that way it sounds really expensive and not worth using with gems or ingame bought black lion kits.
I didn’t thought about that, because I just used up mine which dropped for me from a black lion chest long time ago. I had to decide whether I use it on my regular yellow items (which I do get rarely since the 15th November patch) or on that method. I didn’t create amounts of it.. so I’ve consumed 9 uses of my black lion kit. That gave me a few ectos in return which I didn’t sell. Instead I save them for myself.
Yeah.. but like you described it, I will never understand how it should count as an exploit, when it is connected to these high costs to make/ salvage.
I forgot to mention that:
- I also experienced a few times that it doesn’t work correctly and it tells me that I failed, whereas on my screen everything was fine (I had that problem with the clocktower, too, to be honest it was worse there, but I still experience that issue)
- once I jumped on a snowflake and fall through it (and no it wasn’t disappearing, I just should have landed there)
- once I double started.. it loaded the screen, I stand there and was ready to begin, it ported me back to the waiting area (the snowflakes never appeared), it happened to the whole group

Please have a look at the current DR and consider if there is something messed up for some players. (first I mistyped loot instead of look,..lol)
We tried to figure out what is happening and right now at the moment it seems:
- some players are affected with a very strict (botter?) DR, some are not
- some players notice a difference, after Anet restarted the servers which improves the loot (by decreasing the DR?), but it comes back after 1 or 2 hours (of normal gaming!!!)
- it happened since the 15th November patch

It worked with just one as long as you used the black lion kit.
Or some more with the master salvage kit.. but 100?
