Can’t they just let go of the mesmer? Especially the berserker?
:-(
It’s really worse after the jan patch.
Didn’t have any problems before, but now some events are just senseless to do for me.
I am doing pve and I would prefer:
1. see the foes when they spawn
2. see people with whom I grouped
3. see friendly npcs
4. see some other guys
5. see animations
In a very bad moment (like doing grenth with more then 15 people) it’s like:
1. seeing every single animation (settings on low didn’t change anything)
2. nothing
3. seeing some people and maybe someone from my group, maybe some npc
4. nothing
5. some foes, appear, disappear, appear, dead.. mostly they spawn and are dead, because other people see them before i can see them (and I can see them before my bf can see them.. we’ve tested that -.-)
Doing penitent or shelter with more then 10 people means for me that as soon as the foes are visible for me they are nearly dead. Yes, I could stand on their spawning location and damage them blindly. No, I won’t do that. That’s not accetable and it worked before the jan patch quite fine.
If I am in a group of <10, everything works fine, too.

Yeah, what I don’t understand is: Why make these explorable dungeons paths accessible for Lvl 35 (45, 55,..) if it’s mainly meant and designed for grinding tokens for the lvl 80 armor. ^^
Hmm, I thought we were doing explorable dungeons for fun. ^^
Even if we do not focus on level number I still think it is not an appropriate introduction for dungeon newcomers. For example compared to cof path 1 it’s too difficult.
Maybe a level 35 dungeon is not supposed to introduce them into explorable dungeons (maybe a level 75 is^^) ? Don’t know, but that’s how it feels..
We did each path yesterday and yeah, well, it was indeed challenging.
Ghost Eater was extremely buggy and not fun.
We were a group of 4 lvl 80s and one lvl 37.
Can’t imagine how to do that if we had been all around lvl 35. O.o
Would it scale down a lot or did we experience the lvl 35 hardness? (Thinking of: Does the game recognize that we are down leveled 80s in exotic gear and therefore is a little bit harder than for normal lvl 35 players..)
We will not do that path again.
The other two were okay, but again it’s questionable if reasonable for lvl 35s group…..

Uh, PLEASE nerf us mesmers morrrrrrrrre, can’t wait for it…
Really?
Has this been fixed?
I was forced to complete my dailies by switching to another task due to that problem… using the mystic forge (yeah, I was in the PVP lobby, too) didn’t count.
Or do we have to forge better than blue?
Anyone out there?
Here is another reply that says that with this patch we could get more loot.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/possible-link-between-DPS-and-loot-drops/first#post1524196
Yeah, we just experienced that, too.
What’s up, Zammie?
Why would she exploit a bug? If her dps has improved… that doesn’t sound that bad.. does she use anything illegal to increase her dps enormously?
Otherwise, more dps (more tagging, more aoe-ing, whatever) is more loot, no one can deny that one..
After all they fixed something, so maybe she now gets more loot because before she didn’t get kill credit, whereas she now receives it..
So where is the exploit???
And don’t troll us on such a sensible issue.. :p
And what do you think?
For me it seemed to be a little better, but I have to observe that for a while.. it always has been “better” for an hour or so after an update/ server reset..
That thread doesn’t want to be closed? Naughty thread! ^^
He starts talking about the loot system at 15:05min: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=TBeXr9iC4qU
Didn’t finish it yet, but thought you might be interested.. (not sure if he is telling us anything new)
6 days ago I posted that one:
“Sorry, it is not about WvW, but I don’t know where to post..
Just visited a grenth event after they finished him and there were 25 seconds left for the following event to protect Jonez.. however, as I went there I was able to see one group of foes at the stairs (they spawned at the waypoint), but as soon as I entered the hall, I couldn’t see anything (→ foes, players). (Never had it that bad^^)
All players that were supposed to be there and the rest of the enemies, they were killing, were invisible.
But I could see all animations and effects -.-
After they finished the event, it took some time until I could see again.
<10 people seems to be fine, but with >10 people it doesn’t make any sense to play.
Lag isn’t really a problem."
I don’t have a clue where we could report something like this. Is there anything being done about that issue? (And yes, before the 28/1 patch it was much better for me)
I think they pretend not to be together, but the missing underwear and shoes could be a sign that they already did something before we see them talking..^^
What about these guys? :p
I had to look at the picture again… xD
plasma, we don’t know yet whether not getting kill credit also causes the problem with other openworld foes or not. ^^ (I really hope it’s the same problem and the update will fix everything at once..)
I deeply hope that update will fix the loot issues.
There are still some questions remaining, but I will wait for the update, see what it does and then draw my conclusions from that.
At least , after hard work and long investigation, they found something.
So until now: thanks for that.
Yeah, it’s getting worse.
Where shall we report our PVE culling issues?
I found so many threads, but have no idea where I shall post..

Now it’s big enough to carry my asura around.
Sorry, it is not about WvW, but I don’t know where to post..

I cannot point out it enough:
Right now I did penitent and in the beginning (for about 20 seconds), there were <10 players and I got some whites and blues.
Suddenly the amount of people increased to 18 (I tried to count it afterwards) and I did not receive one loot (except one “dark stained claw”) after that.
No, I didn’t change how I played, but..
1) the foes are invisible for me, but others seem to see them before I can (and I can definitely see them before my bf can) -.-
2) the foes are invulnerable, but as soon as they are visible and you can do damage, they are already dead (other people have higher dps or kill them faster or whatever they do, the foes are dead before I can do enough damage to get “kill credit” -> loot???)
The best amount of people is around 5. That way you receive some loot (not the best, but you get some!!), because there is less problem with invisibility of enemies and you can contribute damage to the foes before they are dead. ^^
If in any case there is an fire elementalist on board, you are screwed. :p
(Lag wasn’t a problem.)

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! +11111111
Happy!
It seems they gathered enough information from us? (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Dragon-chest-bugged/page/3#post1440169)
I think it is a critical point where they are now and how they will decide to handle all related loot issues.
If they focus on us costumers (and on our money), they will present us a lovely and satisfying solution (regardless if it was a perceived or non-perceived issue.. it was a huge and game breaking issue for many of us!). -> people that would love to play their game will stay and play
If they insist that it is mainly working as intended and will do nothing to mollify the masses, they will lose more and more players. :-(
Don’t push us away from your game!
Hopefully they will be back on track soon and cheer us up. :-)
Yeah, it’s all messed up.
I am not saying that when someone indeed gets kill credit and he receives white loot from an champ/ vet that this loot is fine or working as intended.
I wanted to point out that the same problem with the “not getting kill credit”, could cause the experienced issues with the decreased loot after the 15th Nov patch.
They said something like “every vet/ champ should guarantee loot” (Did they say how good that loot should be? Can’t remember exactly.).
This is obviously not the case and Jason recently said it is not working properly likely due to a problem that player do not get kill credit. (What does not exclude soloing, because we do not know what the factors for kill credits are.)
So, maybe they tried to improve the previous situation with the patch on 15th November and thought it would be solved, so they claimed whatever they claimed in the patch notes.
Maybe this messed up – not only the champ/ vet loot – instead it affected also the open world foes. Suddenly player had issues with their loot (because they got less kill credit → less loot).
The wooden chests are another problem….
However, it seems that no one can follow my thoughts.. I will wait until they fix the kill credit issue, probably it will fix the other loot problem, too. ^^
It does not have to be nonsense. We do not know what the factors for kill credit are.
Maybe one of it is how fast you kill an enemy. If you solo, most of the time you will need a certain amount of time to kill the champ/ vet.
If kill credit depends on speed, you would not get kill credit.
But you can get event credit and xp, because these do not seem to be depending on kill speed.
^^
(edited by Navi.7142)
How exactly did kill credit suddenly factor into this? Unless, the game bugs out and the code somehow doesn’t allow loot to drop because you get wrongly flagged. If this is the case then Jason should have been clearer on the matter. Because his post can be interpreted in different ways..
I wrote about a thought what could happen to player who solo them.
We don’t know what “kill credit” is and how it works. So maybe one factor could be kill speed, and I am quite sure soloing needs a certain amount of time to kill the boss. Maybe that is too long and you don’t get kill credit.. who knows? (You can also get xp and/ or event credit.. doesn’t have to be the same as kill credit)
Just have a look what Jason wrote.
If you’re not receiving loot from a champ/vet, it’s most likely because you’re not getting kill credit. We’re currently working on some improvements to this so that it will be easier to get rewards when you kill a creature.
Thank you for bringing this up!
The champ/ vet issue is not working as intended.
:-)
Last year there existed a pretty good website where you could choose between different cpus and video cards and it told you how well gw2 should run on such a system.
That’s how I decided on which components (cpu/ video card) to focus. I didn’t look for the cheapest one, but I also had to stay realistic with my financial situation. That way I was able to buy something affordable AND it is enjoyable enough for me.
Can’t remember the name of the website. Maybe someone else knows what I am talking about?
Can you provide us with your current system components?
It could be that you can also save, because you don’t need a new power supply and so on.
Maaaaaaybe for your interests it’s enough to start with replacing your cpu, graphic card and RAM…
Maybe.
A brandnew system is not the solution for everyone. I understand that. :-)
I wrote about the solo players.. you never know if we have to do enough damage and/ or kill an enemy fast enough to get this kill credit. If you solo it and you do not get kill credit, it could simply be that you were too slow. It’s just an idea, but who knows?
The chests are messed up. Don’t know what they have done to that, but as I can see other player’s chest, it cannot be working as intended. In my opinion the chest that drops horrible loot (like porous bones) was not meant for me.
Otherwise if they were meant for me and anet is serious about that, I have no idea why they are doing something like this ^^
So I think they have just messed up with the chests a little bit.
I bought one for around ~ 260 NZ Dollars. It is a HP XW4600 Core 2 Duo 3 GHz, 160 GB, 2 GB, Desktop PC. They are specialized on ex lease computers, that’s why it was quite inexpensive.
It included:
-CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz CPU
-2GB RAM
-160GB HDD
-Nvidia Quadro FX570 256MB Graphic Card with dual DVI Port Support Dual Monitors, Share with memory can run as 2GB
-Intel Desktop Mother board with 4 Ram Slot with 6 USB, 2 x ps2, serial port
-Sound Max High Definition Audio
-USB2: 4 Rear, 2 front
-Broadband ready
-CD writer + DVD Writer
- trial win version (I didn’t need a new one)
I put in another graphic card: AMD Radeon HD6670, discounted, for about 120 (?) NZ Dollars.
Few month later I put in another 2GB for ~40 NZ Dollar, because it did take ages to load lion’s arch. After that it suddenly improved a lot, but then there were some gw2 updates that made it worse. But it is still quite good. 4 GB are okay.
With these components I can play the game on quite good settings. I do have 30 fps most of the time in pve on medium/ some high settings.
It does have some problems with laaaaaaarge events, but normal events (like cursed shore) are playable. The karka event was not enjoyable.
You could really save some money (and so get a better system), if you put it together by yourself or could you ask an experienced friend or colleague to help you?
(edited by Navi.7142)
As we seemed to be off-topic, back to this thread here..
How likely could it be that the vet/ champ problem mentioned by Jason could affect also other, openworld foes?
If the kill credit for these enemies is not working, maybe it is not working for the others, too?
As we do not know yet, what exactly kill credit means, it could be
1) kill credit = event credit (medals, karma, gold)
2) kill credit is not event credit, could be an internal measurement system how the system decides that you have qualified (enough) for loot.
I think it is very unlikely that kill credit is shown as XP or event credit, because player receive xp and/ or the event credit, but not getting the kill credit on champs or veterans. That way they do not get loot from them.
It’s not too delusional to consider if then every openworld enemy can be affected by this problem (the kill credit not working properly → less loot).
We do not know the factors for kill credit, but for example it could be high dps and high killing speed. So maybe the second point (killing speed) could be the reason for people not getting credit even when they solo the champs/ vets. (That way the game tells you: You are just too slow.^^)
That’s an odd answer.
The troll in queensdale rarely if ever drops loot for anyone. We know we get kill credit because we get credit for the event.
Am I missing something?
Maybe kill credit is not event credit? Could be an internal check for dropping loot.
Or kill credit = event credit, but it is messed up?
Is speed (how fast you kill an enemy) a factor for kill credit or loot?
Jason, could it be that the “no kill credit” thing affects not only the champ/ vets?
Could it be the reason that some players do not enough dps to receive kill credit and so receive less loot, which causes the loot issue experienced by some players?
The system on getting kill credit seems to be a little messed up. So maybe people do damage on (any open world) foes (not just champs/ vets) and get xp, medals, …, but they do not enough damage (?) on them. This leads to “no kill credit” and that again influences the loot they receive (like you said about the loot from vet/ champs).
Hey everyone, I’m here to help clear up some of the confusion on this issue!
First, our apologies for the inaccurate response: your system clock does not affect your loot drops (sorry, conspiracy theorists). We’ve corrected this information for future responses.
If you’re not receiving loot from a champ/vet, it’s most likely because you’re not getting kill credit. We’re currently working on some improvements to this so that it will be easier to get rewards when you kill a creature.
Thank you for bringing this up!
Well, if no kill credit is the reason for no loot from champ or vets, but the players do receive xp, medals, … then it could be the same reason for some players not getting decent loot? (which would suck because then you HAVE to do lots of dps… forced to do that to get kill credit to get loot -.-)
EDIT: They also introduced that “improved” (not working properly for everyone as described in Jason’s post) champ/ vet system on the 15th November, didn’t they?
(edited by Navi.7142)
Well, maybe/ obviously event DR and loot DR are not the same. ^^
Geotherma still received quite good loot (in his/ her vids) although event DR was triggered.
(edited by Navi.7142)
Depends on your goals?
I am not interested in legendaries.
Maybe one day I will have enough stuff to get something like “vision of the mists”.. but I do not care if and when it happens.
Usually I do not sell my material/ components (unless I have one or more stacks of it), and sometimes I need them to craft for myself.
But I do need some money. For example to buy/ craft a few exotic armor pieces for my characters (for the skin.. I know I could get them for “free” for karma^^), sometimes I buy some T2 cultural pieces..
What I wanted to say:
As for my part the complaint is not about the legendary stuff. These are so beyond reach I do not even consider to get one ever. ^^
I am sure I don’t make 10g for that amount of events (I didn’t count it yet)… but I am convinced that no one would complain if we would earn similarly.
Have you ever thought about a minimum amount of money you would be happy about? Let say for the same events, you sell your stuff and would get ~ 1 – 2 g. Would that be okay for you, too?
I had that several times, too.
I think that happens when the chest is dropping for another player, but you are able to see and loot it. ^^
So true.
I made another observation (which I also described here https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Loot-issue/first#post1383442):
The number of people is enormously affecting my drops.
The best number of players for highest amount of loot and some better quality loot whilst doing the event chain (penitent, shelter, ..) in orr is 5.
< 5 and 8+ people = less loot + lower quality loot
Couldn’t it be that before 15th November less people were doing these events? And now they are over-crowded and/ or maybe scaling doesn’t work properly?
I feel so sorry for you, Nalora. :-(
Violence is not the answer!!!
D:
Overwhelm him with your love and buy him something nice… XD
Wow, I finally found my thread again. :-D
