That was one of my first thought as well. They do it on purpose. And it has to be done due to what will come in the future.
They’ve done it before. (I know they have, but as it is too early in the morning it just slipped my mind, as soon as I’ll remember it I will post what it was..)
Proud to wear my tin foil hat.
I made similar experiences. Sometimes you just have to guess where the enemies are and attack them without actually seeing them. If you do that, you have a higher chance to get more loot. -> I am not saying that this is great and the way how we should play, but it helps a lot.
The next thing is that people see the enemies rendering/ visually appearing at different rates. My bf and me sit next to each other and we noticed – for example in Orr – that I can see them seconds before he can. And when they appear on my screen they already have low health. (That’s why we learn where they spawn and try to attack them before we see them, otherwise we would not qualify for loot.)
Sometimes it is so bad that you cannot see them until they are already dead. You just see them when they are dead and collapse to the ground. (That’s not nice as well because you can’t realize that fast if they are dead or not and you waste your skills on these guys. ^^ It doesn’t help either that sometimes dead enemies have some health bar left because the game does not update their health bar status fast enough.)
And OF COURSE it all depends on the profession you choose to play with.
High DPS, high AOE, a quick attack speed, … then you have the best chance for loot.
Good choices are: Thief (sb), guardian (staff), ele (daggers), necros (marks and wells), etc..
That does not mean these guys have to be nerfed, in fact the others need to be brought on par with them.
Well, they already “improved the looting” as they fixed how you qualify for loot. Before the fix it was so much worse. Some professions really had disadvantages.
I cannot wait for the end of culling. It really has to stop.
I do not want or need to see other player’s animations! (You – devs – might want to consider to distinguish between helpful animations like seeing another player’s healing spring (where I can jump into if needed) or just clutter like ele’s fire balls. Thanks.)
Let me see the enemies and their animations!
Thank youuuu!
My bf also discovered this yesterday and figured it out that it is connected to the pit fighter chest piece. It looks really weird. Especially when jumping and fighting. ^^
How shall one know that you have to do some dailies to complete this particular achievement when it is nowhere to be seen that these have to be done/ are included?
It looks like you’ve completed the entire thing with 13 or 14 out of 16 filled/ completed and there is not one notification how to finish this achievement (when it already looks like you’ve done everything, but it either looks like there is a bug or falsely marked as “completed”).
You might want to consider to fix this.
And if there already is a statement that one has to do the dailies to complete the achievement. WHERE??? (Not obvious enough.)
I think they stated somewhere sprockets will be a permanent implementation.
Nooooooo. Why? Why? Why?
Maybe it was just an oversight from anet’s part. ^^
Seriously why are you posting your that “its your birthday today”in the general discussion where we should be discussing about things related to the game.I couldnt give a flying kitten about your birthday.I hope this thread gets moved or locked and happy closer to death day.
lol, at least you took some of your precious time to respond to that thread. xD
Lol. Who wants to use that?
It’s incredibly expensive for a one time use thing. -.-
Can someone explain me why we can’t do anything useful with the buttons that we received for voting?
What about just let us sell them as well?
Laurels always have been account-bound.
It could have been that you had 3 laurels on one character, then earned one laurel and on another character you saw 4 laurels the next time you were looking.
If that is not the case (or anyhing similar), there might be a bug. ^^
Yeah, we’ll never know how much the average has spent. Unless they would tell us more about the numbers, what I doubt. ^^
It was just.. “uhh, only 53k players?” …huh?
With 13 votes as an average, it would have been ~ 1.2 million players. ^^
Enjoy your day! Congratulations on being on this Earth. :-)
4 million votes, a little over half went towards the other fractal.
They said on the stream that it was over 16 million votes.
I know I can’t make any real assumption about the mass of players that stood behind the 16 million votes, but..
Most of what I read was people spending around ~ 300 votes. Assuming that would be true, only 53k players voted?
(Don’t take these numbers too serious, but 300 votes per player isn’t too absurd, is it?)
Yeah, I also noticed that yesterday on Drakkar-Lake.
I assume the next update/ server reset will fix it automatically, but for how long?
^^
Would it be an idea to implement a “gold bag” that player could give their characters if they want to? This gold bag would collect the gold per character and would only allow to store the gold in the token wallet by a right click on that bag.
Players that appreciate the new token wallet will not need to “give” this gold bag to their characters, but players that prefer to collect the gold per character could easily do so (by checking).
The gold bag would act like an inventory bag with its own place and can be checked (gold per character) and unchecked (gold goes directly into the token wallet) just like the player wants it.
You know how to tease people (in a friendly way!). ^^
You say you occasionally go up to someone and say a quick grats.
Yes, I do. But it is not about being hardcore, a great achiever, grinder, whatever…
Sometimes I see people that dress (say they mix and match various armors – can include starter armor or T3, it does not matter!! -) or have dyed their armor very well or they have a weapon that matches their skin (when being a sylvari) or whatever.. these are the moments I stop to say “hey, that looks great!”.
I don’t care about titles, ranks, the most “impressive” (hardest to get) armor or weapons. I stop and look at people being creative and artistic!
But… I guess.. there will be some people that will like and congratulate you as well for what you show off. To each his/ her own.
Why do you want and need that kind of attention from other players? ^^
It’s not just about you, mtl (you just opened a thread where I post my thoughts), but I will never understand why so many players care that much about what others might think of them or how they can impress people. Is it really about who has the biggest …?
If you like a particular legendary (-> insert title, skin, rank, etc here), then go for it.
It might be other people see you and will like it, but why should that be an incentive to go for a legendary etc.?
Most of the players I know of do not care what other players wear or try to show off.
Yeah, sometimes I see someone with a nice weapon or armor and I congratulate to that chic piece of gear, but it doesn’t have to be the gear that is obtained the most laborious or expensive.
True greatness comes from within. ^^
EDIT: had a wrong word in it.
(edited by Navi.7142)
Its just a “thing”. Everyone has one, this one is mine. I can’t really explain it more than that.
:)
And you don’t have to. Although in my personal opinion it is a really great thing and very welcomed by me I am aware that some others might be negatively affected by the changes they are making.
I really hope you will adapt to these changes with time.
zenleto, as Tyria evolves they’ve found a new magical bank system where all your currency stuff automatically and magically will be sent to (because they thought all these various and heaps of different currencies are too much of a hassle for the poor adventurers). Despite being magical (and Tyrian.. something like “human”) doesn’t always mean everything and everyone is considered adequately and as the magic has boundaries the downside is all your characters have to share the same pool where to store and get their needed currencies from.
I really hope you’ll find a way to accept what now sounds game breaking for you.
Gold will become account bound: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/jubilee/Token-Wallet-Thank-you-a-net/page/3#post2522636
Now you can start playing the game again. ^^
Why should we craft a one time use portal that costs heaps of materials etc?
In which situation could it be useful/ justified to create an expensive portal that we can use one (?) time? What is the advantage of this portal?
Is it similar to the mesmer’s portal or “better”? Why not take my mesmer if in need of a portal?
I don’t understand how that new portal would justify to need considerable resources to be manufactured.
When you buy and open them they are account bound. Each part of it will be used separately. That way one can decide which part to which character goes.
And it is a one time use only. That means if you have several medium armor characters and you want to have them all in this armor, you have to buy them for each character. (Unless you share parts of it as described above)
(edited by Navi.7142)
They are now available to buy for 800 gems each!
Great idea! I would like that.
Change the place and have a look how it affects your armor. I think you might be surprised how great it will look in snowy areas like frostgorge sound. ^^
There also might be a graphic option that when turned off shows the colors more realistic (compared to the preview) and not that lighted. I think I experienced something similar with “black” that wasn’t truely black until I changed some settings and it became darker and not so greyish.
EDIT: That was written before I could read your other replies. ^^
Did you just include to give the covington pirates torment? O.o
Yeah, but I think it is a quite reasonable solution. They did not just remove the loot. Well done, Anet!
(Obviously they had to react to the complaints. ^^)
Yeah, I’ve experienced this with my mesmer, too.
But if I remember right my ranger sometimes has similar happenings at the Claw. She should be locked in the ice crystal, but can run around until she can use her normal skills again (as long as she shouldn’t run around she has the skill that you have to break free from the crystal).
You know I love the new medium skirt/boots I just really don’t get why they had to cover it up with a trench coat. (It’s not a bad looking coat, but we have enough coats already and about 1 option if you don’t want a coat hanging past your butt).
Yeah, I also wanted to comment that the new female medium armor is quite good when you just pick some pieces. I will definitely give the skirt to my thief. At least if these armor are available for pve and obtainable without paying an arm and a leg.
I really like the light one and I also like the heavy armor (not all pieces, but I am used to mix and match ^^)…
Anyone knows how and when they will be made available?
Very, very possible Navi. Thanks for that. I have parked that particular character and done nothing with him between events. Even weeks apart.
You’re welcome.
I would be interested if the solutions will work for you, so maybe you want to tell us if you encounter the same thing again despite keeping these things in mind.
In my opinion there are a few girly armors, but it’s really not enough..
light: http://www.gw2armorgallery.com/asura-light.htm
stately
tactical skirt
feathered
twilight
winged
medium: http://www.gw2armorgallery.com/asura-medium.htm

heavy: http://www.gw2armorgallery.com/asura-heavy.htm

I only have a little asura girl in light armor, but have not decided yet how to dress her, although she already hit lvl 80 for quite a time.. I think she will get mixed armor pieces or twilight… right now she is still looking like this.
Zenleto, you might wnat to read my findings here:

Have you done anything similar like described there?
All three skills can be affected by lag. I don’t know where you take your assumption from, but I experienced lag on each skill. Maybe you want to read the thread about oceanic players and how they are affected by massive lag on skill 1, 2 and 3. ^^
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/bazaar/Oceanic-Player-Issues/first
The internet connection is not the problem. At least not for me, each other content (except huge amounts of player at really large world bosses) works fine.
Sorry for being off-topic.
If someone needs help on an EU world, please feel free to contact me.
Although I sometimes have massive lags and cannot use my skills properly (just on the bazar map; especially in the sanctum sprint) I would like to help. Most of the times I am able to do the jumps, so I would like to portal you to my place and we will get you up there.
I would try to be not mad at Anet, because I think they are just not aware of what troubles their living story with the high amount of jumping can have for some people.
They already improved the game for color-blind people a little bit, so maybe feedback from people that cannot do these contents will make an impact in the future. We never know.
:)

So… anyone already found some unannounced nerfs or bugs? ^^
You might get a refund. Contact support and explain what happened to you.
Several players that made the same mistake by not knowing they couldn’t equip the same ascended ring twice have been compensated.
Some examples:

Sounds nice. And it doesn’t have to be only for the rangers.
All other professions could go there and watch them all. Rangers just could have the option to display all or just the ones they already tamed.
How about that?
What about an infantile mode?
Decide if you want to do that jp normally or you can do it in baby mode (by speaking to a npc or choose when you enter the sanctum) and are immune to damage (and of course you can’t damage others either). To prevent the others to pointless spam their attacks on you, you could be either invisible 100% of the time or have an “infantile aura” (maybe like the cloud in sab infantile mode.. some rainbow colors around you).
So everyone who still wants to compete/ harass other people in that jp can do that, but other will also finally be able to achieve it.
If you think there is a need for a punishment for using the infantile mode the chest could give less reward. ^^
Glad it helped. And now you know how to prevent it. :-)
Navi
Yeah, we never tried the lightning hammer thing.. ^^
That might be worth a try for the OP.
What are your expectations? What exactly do you want to do?
Pvp, wvw, pve, dungeons, world bosses, fractals,…. (You can do that with each profession, but yes, there might be some that could make it easier for you.)
You might want to create all professions (one after another), complete the tutorial, go to the mists (pvp lobby) and then you are up-leveled to lvl 80 and you can try out how this profession will feel at lvl 80 (although it’s focused on a more pvp feeling).
That could be helpful.
(edited by Navi.7142)
I thought about that as well, but personally I like that foes are (still) dropping loot. A nice chest at the end is great, but for me it is also nice to kill foes and actually get loot for that. ^^
EDIT: Ah well, I guess I know what you’re talking about.. if the reward at the end is a lot higher than what the foes drop during the event people might stop farming the low quality loot and aim for the higher quality loot in the chest. It would make more sense to complete these events faster, maybe then switch to an alt and do the same thing again.. if they intend to farm the chest.
(edited by Navi.7142)
Wow, that was pretty fast and I’m glad they can help you!
I think you are just some time away from the other item!
Ok, so you might have gotten the medal for participating in it.
Then keep us updated about the next fight against it. There should be a way to figure out what is happening to you and if it is something odd it might be a (new) bug.
As we leveled our eles (not the first characters that we brought to lvl 80) there was a time we got really frustrated and we tried a lot.. but in the end we leveled them up through crafting from 60 to 80 (or maybe from 65 to 75.. who knows).. it was a horrible experience.
Leveling our necros had been very easy and relaxed.. it was such a difference.
Mesmer was a little struggle until lvl 20, but then okay and got better with each new level!
So in my opinion of all three “light professions” ele is the most demanding and tedious to level up.
Playing the lvl 80 ele in nice gear is fine!
(edited by Navi.7142)
:-)
You might want to keep us informed whether they could help you or not.
Cheers!
