i BET there was some issue with the druid – why do i think that?
a) druid is the only elite that was not introduced in order of the old classes introduction – all the other fit but druid was skipped
b) the druid images shown so far do NOT show any druid specific gear nor were such items datamined
c) the datamined druid artwork does not show the class
now im thinking which other traitline will make the race – inventions for the heals and bunker down or elixirs for hgh or iron blooded…gonna be interesting
i just really hope they make gyros usefull and improve on turrets again
otherwise we just have 2 “turret” lines that are useless in pve and pvp and that nobody uses… if you cant fix it otherwise, make at least one line great for pve and the other great for pvp… right now they all just sound meeh – and they are an engis trademark…
im really sick of having all that variety and in the end everybody play either burning ft condi or grenades anyway…

I don’t know how to feel about the new traits. Some of them seem to be useless in PvE, especially the minor traits. Reviving an ally is pretty rare if your team knows what they are doing and stomping? Close to 0 stomping in PvE. And I really hoped to get some protection and aegis, but we got nothing like that.
true, but its kinda hard to make traits that are all both useful to pve and pvp…and within raids these things might become more important…
i agree tough, there are some classes and elites that have GREAT minors, and some whos minors are just very situational…would be great to have more balanced minors…looking that maybe 1 is more pvp 1 is more pvp and 1 is balanced or something…

magitech armor from the gem store… pretty much one of the very VERY view medium armors that look like they are made for engineers…whats pretty sad. Its available since 2 years now atleast and costs 800 gems. The helmet is the specialisation armor piece and isnt available atm
well magitech armor i think is okayish for an engineer…but i still think we are lacking armors that actually look like a medieval engineer – magitech looks way too futuristic for my taste…id rather want something that looks like an ork mekboy

I agree, I hope they don’t got the idea to let go of the steampunk theme for a more scifi theme.
About the “lightning instead of fire” thing …. it isn’t instead, it is both. We still get the explosive looking rocket charge we saw in the trailer, but also getting some electric devices for the hammer. As long as I get another block for my engi, I’m fine with that.
And I hope the AA of the hammer is looking quite explosive. Would really enjoy that.
If it would be me.. engi armor would look like this.. but we cant have that, generic coats only all the way…isnt like engineers would carry a kittenload of machines and tools arround…same counts btw for the other mediums.. completely different fighting styles\needs for armor. Well.. magitech atleast got some mechanical elements in its design
they usually have armors that hint more towards a certain class….i think anet also needs to think more in PARTS regarding armor – why not have a “generic” medium armor, but one part of it has a druid theme or a engi theme, so that you can mix and match and include and exclude parts from other armors – this would also encourage more style variations while still making all armors viable for everyone instead of the situation that they are either generic or too specific…
regarding lightning field…well, lightning field just isnt THAT gread… whirl finisher is kinda nice if you can stack vulnerability fast…but swiftness and daze meh…

170 seems like really a lot – collecting all those hero poins is just mind numbing and boring – unless you can get like a big chunk of points somewhere at the beginning of hot OR they give you some kind of point-re-allocation potion….
the problem with poison in general is that its either too strong for pvp or too weak for pve…
yeah i think rifles, pistols and engi skins are the worst that are available
they either dont fit, are silly or way too futuristic imo… some more rustic, orkish, steampunky stuff would be appreciated (something that looks like the orc 40k stuff)…but well see…
all the elites seem to be based around being either DAMAGE – SUPPORT – CONTROL – this fits all of them…

i currently use flame legion runes instead of strength runes because they are much much cheaper (a full strength rune set will cost you somewhere between 55 and 72 gold depending if you go hoelbark or strength) and i feel its still quite effective…

well ft build is pretty simple and straight forward…combine juggernaught with hgh and bunkerdown with strength sigils and one of the might rune sets and some weapon stats that have +power and +precision
i have a carrion power-condi sword-torch build that does a lot of damage imo, im just trying to find some other interesting builds….retaliation sounds really interesting, a lot of mobs use it in an interesting way with their block skill but its just hard to find good applications for it

was to be expected honestly….we also have to learn more about masteries…i’d expect a last and final beta weekend somewhen 2-3 weeks before release and the release of the class infos before that….
i’d also like if they had more variety in the style of the armor or outfits…they all speak the same language – if i look for example into blizzards stuff like diablo 3 or warhammer – they have fantastic armor

FPS issue also.
Running same PC, same spec, same drivers, same OS.
And suddently a huge FPS drop. around -20 fps than usual.

i deinstalled and reinstalled drivers and the such – thought that could be the issue (win 10 and all) – but it doesnt seem to be…and cleaned everything…
I think it might be that the cpu AND case fan are not running anymore – but this seems strange because
why did the both stop running at the same time?
why would that cause the gpu to downclock?
are the fans interconnected and the gpu clocks down because the cpu is at its limit and cant power up anymore and the gpu powers according to the usage of the cpu?

I had recently some performance issue after long sessions – the only reason i could find was that my cpu (i use a mini case in a somewhat confined space) was at 100% capacity and over 100 degrees hot – while at the same time my gpu was at 10% capacity and 40 degrees cool….
so my cpu seems to be the bottleneck – which is amazing to me as i have a i5 which isnt the best – but only about 2 years old – so it should handle the game with ease…
Is the game so cpu demanding? are there ways that i can balance it more to gpu usage especially when the cpu gets so hot?

Yea, you get to do all that on the warrior. Bot skills feel raw, as they should.
While on the guard you get a more supportive and defensive skills.
While for the engi you get 2 step shield skills, knock-backs, deflects, ranged attacks and a stun.
I feel like they all have unique functions appropriate for their profession.I wouldn’t mind hearing what ideas you have for shield skills (per profession).
for example turn guardian shield 2 into another 2-tier skill
1) bash – knockback – 1 stun
2) charge – inflict weakness
shield 1 – cover behind shield, blocking projectiles from allies behind you while reflecting damage through retaliation – similar to the npc block skill that the ghosts are using
The only good “shielding” builds would include focus instead of shield. Sad to say. v.v

I use a Mace/Shield in my 2nd weapon set on my Guardian because I’m a thug and don’t care about the meta. All my gear is Soldier and I only do what I find interesting. At the same time, I don’t expect to participate in events where people would demand me to min/max my character and I’m fine with that. I play this strictly for fun and it delivers.
what kind of build do you use? looking at the traits – those weapons seem to be heavily based around a pure healer…im having a hard time making a shield build look appealing outside of wvw group support
As far as I see it, shield skills are 50/50, when it comes to defense and offense.
Warrior
[Offense] Shield Bash – Bash your foe with your shield and stun them.
[Defense] Shield Stance – Block attacks.Guardian
[Offense] Shield of Judgment – Create a shielding wave in front of you that damages foes and gives protection to yourself and up to five allies.

[Defense] Magnetic Shield – Create a magnetic field that reflects projectiles and can be released to push back foes.
[Offense] Static Shield – Electrify your shield, preparing to throw it at foes. If you are hit, the shield discharges, stunning your nearby attacker.I don’t see your point of needing more of either offense or defense.

1) on pve cleric build maybe use pure of voice or writ of persistance instead of force of will? im more interested in pve and raiding tbh :-)

in wvw im kinda more of the coward that shoots you in the back while youre not looking and then runs behind the big zergs back…but ill definatly look into nomads once i farm those stupid insignias

i think “active” “utility” protection should always be valued more (something like an interrupt) vs passive protections (stat bonus or just a static shield) – its way more fun…
imo shield skill 1 is okayish, nothing special but not horrible… if they changed shield skill 2 into a two-tier skill (as now) with tier 1: bash, knockback + 1sec daze and tier 2 charge + maybe weaken would be more ineresting and active…
