i personally would like if the whole shield 2 skills was scrapped and reworked into something else…but if you keep it yeah, rather turn it into a symbol that applies healing and aegis or something…
but to be honest – id prefer having it scrapped and turned it into a charge/bash that applies a 1sec stun or even better weakness

this feedback is good, valuable and necessary for anet to make adjustments (see reaper)
i doubt we will see new weapons…but if we do, i think a good idea would be an “enhancement” of existing weapon types – for example, focus weapons could be expanded to also include fist weapons – since they look kind a similar anyway… staff wepaons can be expanded to include polearm weapons…bows could be expanded to include crossbows, maces could be expanded to include flails etc. etc…
i think ai/turrets are problematic cause they are really hard to balanced – you need to balance them in a way that if you take “all” u can theyre not too strong and if you only take one its not to little… and thats really difficult with persistant “skills” that linger active
i was actually also thinking about protection…burning im not sure since engi already has burning…i think it will rather also play into the explosion trait line but with a hammer…
im just hopen the synergies will be well balanced and not pet – druid – nature magic being the only viable combo
the gw meta is support – control – damage… i doubt it will change for raids
the said in a livestream that this was supposed to happen…i guess they changed their mind which is a shame cause especially pistol 1 is useless…but also pistol 2 is super bad
why do you think engi comes last altough being mentionned the first – cause best comes last
hey folkes
playing gw2 actively since this spring and have leveled a few characters to 80 so far… i have experiences in mmo’s and played most big ones – but im definately a casual player…
I mostly play on the weekends and can also plan activities then – during the week i rarely get to play a lot.
I am 30+ years old and Switzerland based and therefore look for a EU Guild in the GMT region. German and English are both fine for me.
I am interested in all game types and open for everything but especially interested in the upcoming raids, pve/open world content and especially regular guild missions (preferably on the weekends). I am certainly also open for pvp especially wvw…im probably least interest in structured pvp as i dont think i could ever compete on a high level.
I am looking for a large, well established, casual and friendly and mature guild who welcomes “non pros” but is at the same time somewhat structured and amibitious regarding reaching common goals.
If you have any questions…otherwise i welcome any suggestions.

The lvl cap is nonsense…why would u otherwise need to be lvl 60 for wvw…look i like giving anet money – I just think they shozld be fair annd transparent about such things especially to loyal customers who support the otherwise
it would be really nice if they added a hide chest armor option tough…it would add variety and make more use of the body tattoos – they could even add more tattoo options and possibly scars, piercings etc….
why do you need other future professions if you can basically do nearly anything with elite specializations? besides i think creating an elite must be much less work for anet than creating a whole new profession…i rather have new elites faster for every class than one new profession…. i really hope they will shed out a new elite every 6 months…and tengu…yeah i now

You know that were was a refund option for those who bought the core game after the HoT announcement?
no – there was only a refund option if you bought it in a certain time frame from anet (or i think certain other retailers)
i didnt get the refund option because it seems i didnt buy it from one of the enlisted retailers…for whatever reason so yeah…
besides, my issue is not that full pirce → sale → expansion includes core game → free to play happens, it is the normal evolution of such a game i guess
MY issue is it has happend within 6 months – and that does feel like a cash grab – if i anyone knew this in advance do you REALLY think anyone would have bought the core game at full price in spring? right…

…after having bought the game full price after hot was announced (the second time actually cause i didnt have the original account anymore)…right before the sale was announced – didnt profit
right before we knew hout would include the base game
now the game will go free
I have no problem with supporting the devs – but i kinda feel like an idiot for actually paying and supporting the dev – and i feel that a lot of full paying customers might feel a bit the same way – now even more than after the hot-full-game-gate
I understand that anet wants to attract new clients (even if they will be toxic locust) – they just should watch out not to loose the loyal ones they are having…
sure it would eventually go this way – but this kind of very quick succession feels like a cash grab – like something sleazy devs on steam would do…it doesnt feel good to me and with this kind of deflationary tendency, the only thing your telling your customers is that they should hold of with buying your stuff cause soon, very soon, they will get much better deals anyway…
(edited by Nemesis.6938)
Thanks A-Net. One well paying customer lost.
can me has your stuff?
the new makeshift staff from the hot expansion (look on wiki if you want to spoiler) – it looks simple, but very nice for a melee staff
not 100% happy with the thief staff skin – looks too much like gallant / guardian to me….
(edited by Nemesis.6938)
could be an evasive tanky character…or the stealth or stealing mechanic could be altered…maybe stealing an enemies speed or momentum
i acutally think this is very interesting – as rev is the only one who has “kinda” a melee staff…
Given previous patterns, thieves will no longer have steal.
Tempest – Offhand – Gained functionality with existing skills.
Berserker – Offhand – Gained functionality with existing skills.
Chronomancer – Offhand – Gained functionality with existing skills.
Herald – Offhand – Gained functionality with existing skills.
Dragonhunter – Twohand – Skills changed in favor of new abilities.
Reaper – Twohand – Skills changed in favor of new abilities.
i assume so too – or that the steal skill gets altered, but i would actually like that as im not suuuuch a fan of stealing…cool – melee staff, looking forward… i dont have a thief yet, maybe im gonna level one…

only the b-outfit? the normal one everyone is already wearing?
meh…not gonna log in then…i guess they are waiting with new stuff for hot…hope they will at least bring back more gone stuff
well
a) enhanced burst skills
b) much more frequent burst skills
c) no drawbacks so far known on existing skills
seems like quite a buff to me
besides the moving firefield of course!
for some reason the headpiece reminds me of dervish
thats exactly what i mean – tempest is great, cause it fills another role and give a ele more versatility…warrior elite just shoots into the same hole
The “big damage” class gets even “bigger damage” trough the elite…does that make sense? Arent the elite’s supposed to balance classes more and make them more versatile?
i assumed so but thought well maybe unlocks dont count as “items”…guess i have to wait then…hope they will be in the final version and not just some beta thing (dont assume so but you never know)
I just found out that an awesome new weapon line drops in verdant brink…can you keep skin unlocks from the last or future beta’s or everything that hapens in beta stays in the beta?
kitten This has been the engi weapon line i have been waiting for…mostly

well, there isnt that much you can still announce
day/night cycle
more masteries
guild halls
remaining specializations
maybe some xxx stuff
but looking at the past schedule, we should be through with everything latest in october…so a release then is likely… maybe they aim for the holiday season? or they are stupid and release it the same time fallout 4 comes out…
Focus is an offhand only weapon. Thats the thing.
It was but staff was considered a caster-/ranged-only weapon, too. That’s just a restriction the devs set previously but they can easily change that like they did with the staff.
also can a elite specialization grant a new weapon type to both hands when it comes to 1handers?
I think we would get it either as main-hand or off-hand weapon, most likely not both. At least they didn’t do that for other elite specs.
well but some elites get 2h weapons so where is the difference?
warrior is the least interesting class to me but if they get double foci – i will definatly level up a warrior… double shield would be even better tough dream
i would love some engineer themed skins which are more crude and makeshift like the turrets and dont looks so modern or science-fictiony as a lot of engineer stuff does… something that looks more like the new specialization helmet or a bit like the dredge stuff…
imo most of the engineer themed stuff looks way too spacey…i prefer the early 1900 looking stuff….
i think staff is realistic cause of the pic that was datamined…staff could be cool tough…might even play a thief

WHAT DO WE WANT?
WHEN DO WE WANT IT?
lol but srsly, the release schedule on information seems a bit wonky…but it probably fits in with the release which i assume is planned for early q4?
what is a bit weird is that regarding ranger and engineer, the two first teased or “known” elites are not yet fully revealed, which makes me wonder if this was planned all along or if there are issues with their elite specs that need to be ironed out…
Umm, have you looked at charr reaper animations? The greatsword auto-attack in particular looks really choppy and awkward. Totally the opposite of what I thought it would look like.
There are some nice animations, to be sure, but I was actually going to make a thread asking if they plan on smoothing out some of the animations, especially the reaper greatsword auto-attack.
on charr all animations look awkward except the awkward animations like the ones from engineer….thats simply a charr thing
i can see some reasoning behind this for cele gear – but on a standard sinister gear? no – otherwise set a zerker armor behind the same wall….
i think the voice acting on the norn and human reapers are pretty bad – they dont sound immersive…well one does
tested it briefly in hotm, my hits with and without the rune were varying from ~1102 to ~1205
well this would be in the 7ish % range…a bit more
i dunno hammer dps is just so low…i usually played sword-axe with shiro
i really enjoy assassin stance with sword main hand and axe offhand… i think its quite a good duelist
…? maybe a bit a out of the box question – but does it count as conjured weapons since kits count and its kinda like a kit? Could be interesting for rune of the engineer
(edited by Nemesis.6938)
thats what im looking at as well…right now im wondering what i like better, a valkyre build or a knights build with death magic which gives a lot more toughness and power… you gain 450 toughness which is around 2700 on a knigths which gives another 400 power and your crit chance is also gonna be 100% but you have no ferocity (on the other hand 20% reduction in condition damage and 10% reduced damage from poisenned foes)…
what is interesting for a valkyre build is that u could use either wurm or ice if u want to focus on chilling
(edited by Nemesis.6938)
corrupters fervor and armoured shroud is kinda good on a toughness build….you apply vuln very fast to get the 10 stacks…thats +480 toughness for example on a knights build – thats a lot of toughness…and 14% of it goes into power…thats quite nice, thats what, like 2700 toughness on knight in total? + 400 power…not to shaby
and chilling / weakness is protection as well…i agree tough that spite, soulreaping and death magic have very nice synergies…im figuring out myself which one to kick out for reaper…i think for a more defensive build take death magic and than spite if you plan more time outside of shroud and soul if you plan more time in the shroud…? but at least for pve i enjoy the reaper gameplay quite a lot…
I’m running death, soul and reaper for this test weekend. But thusfar my survivability (and damage) is much higher with normal necro. I run spite, death and soul normally and it is has nice synergy with DS. RS though good is offset by the fact that I need to be in close and I lose far to much LF when in the thick of things. Not to mention the GS being too slow and gives far to little in the way of LF gen.
what gear build are you using on your normal necro? scepter/dagger condi with rabid?
i am currently using a glass cannon sinister condi build on my necro…im dying really fast so reaper seems like a tank in comparison lol

I tried only male human and male norn so i havent heard them all – but i think the audio on the reaper shouts needs some heavy rework…one or two of them (you will suffer) are decent…but most of them are just horribly bad…the other shouts from other classes arent superb either but they are not as sinister/aggressive as the reaper ones so it doesnt sound that bad…
but honestly, the voice acter -especially norn- for the reaper shouts sounds like hes ordering a latte and not like hes screaming some sinister and bloodthirsty war cry – just horrible…it might be a minor detail but i think it completly ruins the fantastic animations…even i could do a better voice over and im not even a professional….
hmm i think scepter / dagger makes for good condi and/or staff…while with might, vul and chill, reaper makes for a great power build (probably knight)…i think power is the way to go with reaper…altough i think that for pvp reaper will not work well cause the skills are too slow…
sure but still – it is a stupid mechanic – in what way does it make the game or the experience for the players better? I dont see any reason behind it
okay this might be a minor thing but its really annoying – why again can i only charge crystals once a day? I have no issue with that but then PLEASE dont make them ingredients in basic recipe…
To craft sinnister gear you need those crystals for the jewels – its really ridicoulos that tihs takes you over a week simply for the fact that you have to wate – like a free to play mobile game – i dont understand the reason – its not a factor in other recips and just annoying…
I have to congrat anet for once again – absolutly beautiful and stunning combat animations while still not overdoing it…i think you / gw2 is the best in the buiz for that specific aspect and one of the main reasons i dont get tired of gw2 combat… And they get better… The new animations for Reaper, Revenant and Tempest are just stunning!
i agree that is one point you can attack – the animations on the gs are quite slow…
nevertheless, i love reaper, i love the skills, i love the animations…
i personally think you are somewhat right – temporarily – i really like the idea about specializations BUT what will be very important, is that they add new specializations as fast as possible to every class….so that you get back the variety and the different builds…i know this is going to be difficult also for balancing reasons but they should have known this from the beginning…
imo they should aim for at least 3 specializations per class – asap, within a year or so…yeah thats tough but well…
