Walls? I’d take a guard on Fire Shaman in fractals over warrior/ele/engi. While swirling winds is nice, and engi has an RNG wall, guard reflects are great in PvE.

Dont forget the vuln stacks, engi is really great at stacking vuln, which is especcially useful in fractals, where you cant use FGS efficently…

Yeah. With grenade barrage, mine field, grenades you can quickly stack lots of vuln, especially with the vuln on crit trait.

Also, the engineer tool belt “Analyze” for the skill “Utility Goggles” will apply 10 stacks to a single target instantly, so that can be useful in some situations.

Full zerker, 66002, Healing Turret, Grenades, Bomb Kit, Mine.

Can stack might, invis, and it’s the best DPS option for Engis ATM. Just know how to dodge

I do have to say though that there is this terrible tendency for new engineers to use FT for the “cool” factor while completely negating their DPS potential. That’s been my experience with the few others that play engi, at least.

Eh, I ran torch on my guard because the animations were cute. I understand the FT love. But no really, Nevets, I’ve never experienced a pug engi of your caliber.

Well that’s true, I am probably one of the best engi “Pugs.” I pug all day erryday. Pugs for lyfe yo!

Anyway, not sure if this thread is troll or serious, but Engi DPS can be decent if the Engi is aware of his/her class potential. The general consensus of speed run guilds is that Engi DPS/utility is overall lacking compared to other classes, so the profession is not taken for speed runs.

So I play a bit of COD Ghosts. I didn’t play any of the previous games, but recently they introduced a new mode called “Reinforce.”

Basically the game is played out something like this:

-3 conquest points
-If you die you don’t respawn
-If someone on your team captures a conquest point your whole team respawns
-2 or 3 minute time limit per round
-Capturing all 3 points or killing all enemy players ends the game
-If time expires the team with the majority of the points wins
-Best 4/7 Rounds

If something like this were theoretically introduced on the maps ANET has already built, how would games play out?

My thoughts:
-More emphasis on mobility
-Less emphasis on bunkering because holding points doesn’t matter as much as capturing

Had to add this, I redact my previous comment as the chance bags have worked out for me. I used a few hundred and got myself a monocle last night that was listed for 193g.

So, in my experience yes it has been worth it however RNG was in my favor

I quit the game for a while after the “Fractured” patch when my level was reset to 30, but I just came back after finishing up school and now I’m back to rank 50! Wahoo!

Anyway, because ANET used the introduction of leaderboards as the justification for resetting my level, I was wondering how I can see my leaderboard rank? I just don’t see them under “Community->Leaderboards” on the main page.

However, a path 2 “speedrun” video is in the making, takes about 4 hours to get online, though. Given, it went terrible, that’s to a high extend caused by the crappy setup. However, since we stacked might and fury, you can see how kittenty the contribution of an engineer is in a speedrun anyway.

He’s mocking those who claimed they tested Engi in Arah without providing videos of the encounter for public critique. Not that they are obligated to provide anything to anyone, but it would be nice, (for me, as a curious, unskilled bystander,) if both sides endeavored to show their take on the practical application of Engi.

Hendo and others claimed to have tested Guang’s build in Arah 2 and said it sucked due to externalities not necessarily related to Guang’s dps (although they claimed his build wasn’t max dps) but related to the nature of speed clearing in general; ie. run speed, the practicality of applying vuln and stealth and other factors Guang may not have taken into account.

Since neither side has really shown practical, encounter-based evidence to support the claim in contention, I’m not really convinced either way. That said, I do agree with Hendo et. al. that the burden of proof is on Guang. I would love to see him show the speed runners up by making his own group and beating their time.

Guang said he doesn’t really have any interest in doing this, so I think the entire exercise/debate is futile.

We were doing arah p2 run with his recommended team composition and I was completely blown away by the result. I am verry sorry to doubt, I wish I knew earlier.
