They are not gonna do it because linux is not that popular. Steam is only doing it because they are afraid, microsoft is going to crush their main source of income. I don’t think steam will be successful in what they are attempting to do.

Actually, Microsoft is more and more moving towards Handheld iOS and Consoles.
Why the handheld iOS? Well let’s just refer to Microsofts splended Windows 8.

besides that, Windows 8 isn’t exactly astounishing around sales, because alot of users are moving towards Linux and Mac.

So, to bridge it it’s actually a splended idea, not even close to something like that.
Steam is swimming in money as it stands, can’t say the same about microsoft.
So, what they want to do is invest in things that could increase their income.

Now with Making a linux client for Guild Wars 2 on the other hand.
Is something that at it’s current state is still questionable.

As a matter of fact i totally agree on wanting Maguuma Falls to be open to us.
Just, i do hope it won’t be as crowded as in the first Guild Wars 1!
The amount of monsters around that area was just annoying! =D
But all in all, it could be an amazing area to explore.

Yes, as a matter of fact they implemented your very own custom music.

What you do is download the OSD from lets say Final fantasy and place the boss battle music.

I can’t agree, i’m playing 2-3 hours a day or sometimes i skip a day, with just doing the daily achievement.
And i still manage to fair well with it.

It sounds more like you want to achieve a large goal in a very short period of time, which is not a casual way of accomplishing things.

Realistically you can casually achieve long term goals without being hardcore into it.
Aside of that there’s also enough content for a hardcore player to delve through whilst new content is being presented.

I don’t think your ment to pump through FOTM like that.. It’s just content to keep you busy for the time being.
Atleast it has a place for some Hardcore players right?

i expect them to release new gear like mentioned to improve progression later on.

It’s not actually a negative post, it’s a neutral one.

Still, while you’re posting, how about you put in your answer to the question I posed. Just your opinion of what it is that GW2 did that was significantly better than the other offerings this year.

The year 2012 has alot of games. Combine them together with the huge chunk of games that came out. (2012)

Look at it’s features, look at the additions it gave.
Look how it plays, look at how the community is.
Look at the music aspect, look at the voice over.
Look at the atmosphere it combines.
Etc

Now look at the – points.

Bugs plague games all over whether it’s single player / Multi player or an MMO.
But it wasn’t a huge issue with the server swaps being instantly for me.

But that’s just how you review it, some of the websites put guild wars 2 on second or third place.
But that doesn’t change the fact that the people that reviewed it liked the game alot better then the other reviewers.
They just have a better favorite pick towards a game like Borderlands 2 or Farcry 3.
But to be fair IGN and PCgamer werent the only ones picking it as a GOTY

Aside of that, people that compile it have to be able to play the game, some of them don’t play it at all. And you probably jsut have one person backing up the game. Which eventually wont make the pick when they get nominated.

Especially when i saw Gamespy picking Xcom on their top1 spot. The game had soooo many bugs in the Multiplayer gameplay that never got resolved that much.

But, that’s just it Bugs aren’t put into a review because it’s not part of the gameplay itself.
I’d never play Xcom because its plagued with bugs on it’s multiplayer part.

It;’s just a big team, that played a bunch of games.
Picked what overly had the best feel to it what sticked for a long time.
Then they all pick there top10 games.
They put them together

But some people had it bugged. That doesn’t have to mean that other people can’t recieve their 2 miniatures because it bugged at the begginning.
It’s alot better then getting a Script running and half the community didnt recieve their share and half of them got double mail with enough for 3 pets =)

Which is logical, after seeing the amount of complaints pile up around the karka event. When people wanted the chest loot and they ran a script.

Yes, could see them being an amazing threat for melee based professions.
The confusion stacks by ridiculous amounts.

Amazingly fun, totally not repetitive, sure if you play it for 6 hours straight.
But if you play it daily for max an hour or 2 it’s actually amazingly enjoyable.
Besides that, rewards don’t really change anything, as long as i’m having a great time with it.

And the players i usually play with would be around 5 max, so i don’t know wether there are 6 or 7 or 8 at a time, but definitely 5.

And yes, i would’ve liked it alot more if i could do it with people from my guild, but it is what it is. And it doesn’t really spoil it by that much.

I want to thank Arena-net for the amazing activities they put up.

And i want to put my vote up for the Toy apocalypse because i haven’t had that much fun about 5 hours straight with just one activity!

Not to mention bell choir was pretty fun to begin with aswell, but never actually thought you’d save the best activity for last!

We really need to see some sort of permanent tower defense activity, it might just be me but i was having a blast!

I just opened the Tixx chest in Heart of the Mist. The top option, right after getting disconnected. The option isn’t available nor is the chests content. Is this correct?

I’ll take that 15% speed boost off you, MS caps at 150%.

I don’t think there’s alot of vertical progression. but you can make it by yourself, by setting a bar.

And as stated above, i doubt they’ll add hard-core vertical progression/

By all means, if a nerf sets people back it wasn’t their profession in the first place.

If you seriously enjoy playing engineer, i don’t even see a problem for PvE or WvW.

PvE: Alot of complaints in PvE would just be a total setback, i don’t see a super high bar of requirements for anything even fractals.
But there really isn’t, how can making 5% more damage make a huge difference?
You’re all going to down it eventually, but the question is will you enjoy it?

WvW:
The only reason would be skirmishing, but in the end the bigger zerg wins.
They have plenty of utilities and i haven’t come across an engineer that had any problem with 1v1ing if they know what’s going on.
If it’s Spvp you want you can always switch to another profession by all means necessary,

Accurately put thieves would take that place without a doubt.
Based on WvW and Spvp.
Although, in Spvp i find those numbers balanced with a sidenote of Rangers being a bit looped at a last spot, although theyre on a comeback after the patch

Gratz to you, the problem is that many others wasted triple or more of what you paid and got less than you did. And whenever someone starts on this path they are more likely to fall into the disappointed category than the ‘lucky ones’

I geuss thats true, but i don’t want to sound like a hard kitten even if you spend near 2k gems the odds are favorably enough that you get between 2-5 miniatures indefinitely.

Maybe they should’ve used an alternative way to do so.
But i geuss one of the major problems would be, that people use ingame currency because those pets would be easily attainable.

I find the Snow Griffon and the Toy Soldier to be my crafts for this Wintersdays to be my picks. I didn’t like the other ones personally.

I did open about 23 boxes aboutish. if not more, you jsut need to find a balance between using ingame currency and real cash.

I will start with the usual, “I loved guild wars 1. I logged in more than 2k hours, blah blah blah, but…” on to the post.

The amount of gifts required to get that unbreakable bell must be ungodly. On a statistical bell curve I should have had 2 by now if they have a 0.01% chance to drop. The RNG is killing this game and at this point I am surprised anyone is still left. This is absolutely ridiculous. If you are wondering about what did drop…. attached is a screen shot of all that I got excluding the sweaters. Those I used to buy more giant gifts. In total I used around 3k (maybe 3.2k due to sweaters) gifts. I more than likely won’t be able to bring myself to play any more of RNG Wars 2. So much for skill being the number one thing required in this game. It seems the longer the game is out the more and more it will slip away from what was stated this game was about.

Yes, call me a qqer and complainer and whatever else you want. The fact stands: they are adding new gear and more than likely will have to for a expansion since they are increasing the level cap. The RNG is here to stay and will be king of RNG Wars 2.

Side Note: It would have made more sense to have the bell as reward for getting 100% on all parts (upper, middle, & lower) of the mini bell choir game (not just the lower part), but I assume that goes against their new philosophy.

You know what’s the problem Nhalx ?The fact that even if the players that are unhappy are in the minority, their opinions are the most seen because the fact of the matter is that people that are happy don’t need to say anything on the forum, don’t need to post stuff because they like the game. The ones that don’t cry about it and make their voice heard and the devs can get a false and bloated negative perspective of the general way that the game is seen.

So I wanted to show that there are people who actually know how games work and like this game in particular, flaws and all! And to be honest, the time I spend looking in wonder when I see a secret of the game or an event far outweigh the time I get frustrated from a bug in an instance or a skill that doesn’t work propperly.

Alot of the bugs actually get reported throughout the outlined bug report. It’s not that even, alot of the complaint are getting ridiculous.

It just gives a negative view on the game itself, just reading through the posts that people constantly post every day in and out.

It’s not like you can expect it, They adjsuted the entire event since halloween and it’s still an on-going drama.
If you want a perfect game everything needs to be obtainable. Not even paying a sub fee for the game.

THey even adjusted the way we can get some sort of holiday decorated skins, and even miniature pets.

There will always be people complaining here and there, you’d take note of the fact that most of the complaining people recurringly complaina bout it.

That’s not even a quarter of the base that plays the game.
