If u´re able to stay alive at the end of the fight (100% or 10% it doesn´t rly matter) as much dps as possibel (for u) is they best way to go.

Question: Do YOU melee Butcher? Do you move outside his range when he does his spinning attack.

The simple solutions are to use ranged pets, or use Drake instead of Jaguar. Add me, and I’ll show you how it’s done.

Yes is do, like 95% of all bosses in this game. Range Pets are a bad choice. They can make bosses move, let them use ranged attack the won´t use without.
And their dmg is rly rly bad. Drakes the same, Bird and Cat nessecary for Support (vul) and dps to be on par with other classes.

Another thing for u. Arah P2 the Abochamp (bears can survive a full fight, but their dmg is low as hell, there is no need Frostspirit and spotter if u have an ranger without sword and a cat), or Arah P1 the first ugly green thing.

SE p1 endboss, bear can surive 2 or 3 AoEs (if healed). Cat only 1. No reason to pick an ranger their. And i don´t talk about 8mins “speedruns”, im talking about 6 or 5 minutes which is not event extremly fast. CoE P1 and 3 too, Alpha will damage the pet with his earth attack even if u stack as close as u can.
Frostattack will kill it, if agent is spire close to your gruops, ur gruop will get it, and the pet all the dmg done by this attack.
AC Kohler and Troll, Pet can´t attack their attacks. And no lure troll to Kohler is no option. They need to long to kill/weaken themselves. Killing the alone is much faster.

AoE reduction is dungeons is definitly needed. And in WvsW it could be like the follow idea.

An 2000 or 3000 range radius around the pet, and are there (example numbers not more) 10 or more players it will get 25% AoE reduction. 30 or more 40% and so on.
Soloroaming will not be changed.

Your ideas are rly not bad. But i can see some problems. Switching all “dps” traits into 2 trees will overload them. And buildvaritiy will be smaller then now.

And skirmishing would be…all the pet traits are rly strong there. Fortifying Bond in nature´s magic have to be baseline (but it would weaken nature´s magic).

For what martial mastery in skimishing? why? their is no reason 30% petcriticals and might for your pet is stronger. Spotter is strong. So 40 Points are fix (if u want to play meleeweapons).
From a view of bows…awesome. 30/25/015/0 will be a new meta. And meleeweapons (especially greatsword) are losing dmg/utility.
If Fortifying Bond would be baseline. Nature´s magic will get weak. So some utility+dps trait should stay there. If all dps brining is traitable in 2 traits.

U´ll have 2 or 3 builds. 30/30/…..for dmg. ….30/30…defensive, and something mixed. Is this your goal?
A lot ideas are great, but the traitswaps are not so easy to solve.

And in my opinion Beastmastery needs some love too.

And pls to all, stay at the 10th dez discussion. And Pets are not broken, they have problems and need AoE reduction in large scale WvsW and dungeons/PvE Champs. But they are not broken.

Even if they wouldn´t die in bigfights, rangers would be weaker. Why? Easy, 99% of all Pet attacks are singeltarget only. So even if they will stay alive (rangepets are doing this often) the rangers dmgoutput will be about 70 or 80% of other classes.
So deal with it. If u hate your pet´s the ranger is not the right for u. And this was clear before the game came out.
Improving skills build around the pet´s will help alot (like shouts). To ask for to get a buff without pet is like a thief would ask to use skills without initiave?

The problem with the all ranger builds is that we have to put 30 in WS for EB.

This means their aren’t enough left over to go into the power lines, which are stupidly split into 3 trees: power, skirmishing, and nature.

True, active condition remove is a problem. SoR for example is rly bad. Heal as one is still useless. Troll unguent could be longer duration, a little bit less healing per tick. But a chance of 10% or 20% to remove a condition per tick.

@Tako why should WvsW be the “endgame”? It´s a part of the game not more, not less.
For me it is nothing, masses of players lagging and spamming a few skills they can use. Waiting, walking, waiting, walking, waiting. Then 1 guy/girl cries in our teamspeaksservers..push! push! push! well done people…yes pushing 1 is rly well done!
Some others have a lot of fun here. That´s ok.

And in smallscale WvsW ranger´s are strong.
If they could reduce the lag´s ranger can find their place. They have strong soft cc and traps. But this condition heavy gameplay needs more tactics then the current meta. So less lags, and interessted people who want to go others ways then just the easiest one they can find.
And i never said our bows are fine, at one of the first pages i wrote donwe my ideas do change the longbow. They shortbow is not mine, should some1 other write down some ideas.

The class your´re looking for is the warrior. Just play it no Pet, good AoE, rangedmg 2 weapons.
Now i know why our Bows are a little bit to weak. To make sure who want´s to play a real nature´s girl/guy with pet and who wan´t to play a “pew pew pew Headshot! pew pew Sniper” class.

And something i have to correct. Martial mastery and twohanded training together would be nice.
But it should be in nature magic not skirmishing. For a dps reason, yes.
Cause in skimishing their are some strong traits affecting your pet.
And in nature´s magic u can trait something what should be baseline. Fortifying Bond.

This and the 25minor makes natures magic rly strong for dps builds. On the other hand, off-handed mastery is in Wilderness survival tree.

Seriously Jon. With all changes that you could make and you want to butcher the GS chain, which is the sole reason that a ranger can run around in a zerg in WvW (with his pet dead, obviously).

Funfact: If u´re hitting 3 “highpower” and highamored targets with GS AA3 when they have Retalation up. U´ll get more Retalationdmg then u could deal to them (noncrit, Soldierstats).
Think about it, yes soo strong is this weapon and it´s aviod in zerg´s.

And what is a ranger?
An "range"er, doensn´t mean “range” (only), yes bows are needing love. But they aren´t everything rangers have. We are no pure hunter´s.
The class is (or should be) a part of nature. A guardian of the nature.
With pet, not without!
We have so much “naturemagic”. That´s why we have no rifle (and hopefully never will get).
Example for “magical” skills. GS Maul and Swoop, nature´s spirits are assisting us. Our spirits.
Entangle oh and our healing spring!
Our trees if we die. (would it possibel to give us any possibility to “summon” such an tree per trait or a future weapon without dying before? would be a nice and funny healsupport).
WH Skill 4 (<needs love too, only dmg but rly low dmg/castime, it need´s addional dmg or conditions)
and 5! Yes, or did u think the spiritwolve we can see is out of a smoking pipe?
Linghtnix reflexes are magic too (cause there is a lighning flash, and we don´t use smokebomb´s)
Viper´s Nest too for example.

This is what rangers are! Not just a Petless “Bowsniper”. We´re much more.
Ok we have problem´s, Pet AI, some failtraits, or in false tree´s. But we have so much potential. In possibel another year we could be so cool that GW2 will get a lot of new player´s who just want to play a real nature´s guy/girl.

1 1/2 year is over, what is this, 1/5 of an good MMOs lifetime? Which classbalance was perfect in the first year?
Just look at World of Warcraft Classic (balance?, what is it? something to eat?^^).
And how boring it is now.

GW2 has one of the only “buildsystems” that allow us to create our unique playstyle. What is needed are more tools and better balance and some fixes!
I think (ok hope) that it will come, hopyfully the most important things next spring!

Just wanted to add some of my recent thoughts about the greatsword.
We often talk about how the greatsword is a defensive weapon but when you look at the sword you realize it has the same defensive capabilities of the greatsword, infact most of use use this weapon for defensive purpose as offhand weapon. It has 2 built in evades, one of which is a gap creator/closer when used right, it has more flexibility because you can pair the main hand with the proper offhand: warhorn for group buffing and the blast finisher, dagger for an extra evade, torch for the fire field, axe for the cc and reflection and all of that while still maintaining more overall damage than the greatsword. Maybe we need to start to look at the gs not as a defensive weapon but as a sword with different playstyle.

This is what i want to tell those guys who still think GS is so awesome defensive. And Warr/Guards have soo much amor and health. If a Warr wants do deal dmg he has not much defensive anymore. And Guards too, “DPS” Guards have 12k health…

And the sword is defensive too, and his AA is on 1 side “stupid” cause of blocking dogderolls. But on the other hand u can rly stay at your target. Kiting nearly impossibel. This is strong! Dmg is not everything u get from the sword, i can do much more.

And it is rly flexible. That´s hy i think that GS is the defensive weapon is nothing then a myth.
If u are rly reflecting a lot of combat situation u will see that this “random” dogde is most times not rly usefull. And the thrid AA dmg is rly low so you don´t get so much benefit from it.

As i said. Possibel a little bit endurance per Hit on the third AA skill. And/or a whirl finisher (whirls are not rly strong, but rangers don´t have much finishers and it could be nice utility sometimes).

For swoop, a little bit vigor (i think 2 seconds and/or swiftness) would be good. Possibel granted to allies too.
If this is done, it´s still a good defensive weapon and some support for allies. Swiftness for the pet if u engage a fight with swoop. U´re in combat but u have to wait for your pet.

If this is done. Increasing the dmg of the third Autoattack would be nice. The GS should be a good choice and other Playstyle. Possibel GS+Sword. But it need´s more dmg. It should be equal to the 1hand sword (which can do this dps with 3 skills, other 2 are nice utility see above).
But don´t add too much boons. Fury is enough, Might is often easy to get. Don´t forget this.

The last thing is Hilt Bash. Possibel a little bit more range or useable while walking would be good.
Petdmgbuffs need a little rework too. They should stack, or rangers get a “petdmg” bar. Like Warrs rage+Berserker´s Might as a passiv. To make our “class mechanic” funnier.

GS in zergs the best weapon? But still so bad compared to other classes that it doesn´t matter if u got a “nerf” here. Cause of this evade it´s worse in most other playstyles. Even WvsW smallscale.
Zerg´s are impossibel to balance, so they should not be used as an argument to keep a weapon from being used in most other cases.
GS or not, ranger´s are “bad” in zerg´s. If skillags are completly gone, then other, more complexe Meta´s could be build. And then rangers will be welcome.

Oh, and AA does suffer from skillags too, like your enemys. So it can´t be soo important. If it would be, a lot other builds were impossibel to play there, but they aren´t.

The point is that due to the spread of the mainhand axe skill, with the exception of ricochet which is a weak power based skill, the mainhand axe is primarily a condition weapon.

Hm, Axe has not so much conditions. U have to fight in “melee” range to add a decent amount of bleedings.
Ricochet ist not so bad cause it´s a “conditionweapon” it is so bad cause if u have 2 targets. 1 will get hit twice. Add for example 1 or 2 Bleedings to this. This would stack rly fast, and rly dangerous for 1 target.
If this target dies. The dmg is low again. I don´t like this design, not for AA.

In my opinion. They should make 2 to ricochet. 1 Melee or range (no bounce, more dmg, possibel bleeding).
3 a leap (if 1 is melee), or a shout (petattack). Also i would make it to an “hybridweapon”.

That means some conditions (not too much) but it should be playable with conditions (defensive) or with rampager gear (or allstatmix) offensiv.

That GS Auto Attack can be pretty useful sometimes when you take it off of auto and time the evade (Crazy talk, I know!). Because most enemies in the game have a pretty long delay in their attacks, you can almost never get hit by anything if you time it right. Its I solo champions, and its how many rangers you see on youtube solo dungeon bosses.

And by doing this, your dmg is so freaking low, i wouldn´t care if u´re alive or dead. Better a Swordranger who can use WH5+Junglestalker and die after this.
Then a ranger wo is doing 0 dmg and is alive. Sry this argument is rly foolish.
U can do nearly everything solo even with the MH sword. Or “maxdps” GS Playstyle, which means, interrupt AA 3 as often as u can.

Definitly the best what u can do, is to remove this avoid. Add endurance per hit and/or a whirl finisher instead. Swiftness or vigor on swoop (and allies if possibel), cause 1100 range eavade rly can be too strong.

And increase dps as close as u can to sword/horn/dagger. Buy pushing AA 3. Im sure if this thing will hit hard, the “slow” animation will “feel” good to.

And player´s will have an active playstyle. And discision making.
Whirl+endurance, or should i do a little bit more dps by using Maul now?
Oh, swoop is up, and i (or an allie) have no vigor! “Swoop”

And last, a trait to get 5 sec weaponswitch (skirmishing 25 or grandmaster)…then rangers should be able to build strong powerbuilds without using so much signets.

A), not bad (but if u get vigor from an allie it won´t be a benefit), possibel a third idea. Add some endurance gain per hit instead of vigor. Interesting could be. For endurance per target hit. Just for example, 1 target hit>5, 2 targets hit>10 and 3 targets hit>15 endurance gain.

B) evade on demand is still nice. It would make it easier to escape or engage a fight. Or another skill to use if u are in meelecombat to evade an attack. And possibel 1 or 2 sec lower cooldown (if it won´t be too strong).

C) Just an idea for skill 4, counterkick, possibel that the player could decide:
1. i use the full 2(or3) blocking duration and kick at the end.
2. i want to kick immediatly
?

But! Might or Fury are not good (Fury only if u haven´t 15 points in skirmishing), but if u play in organized gruops (both PvP and PvE) it is easy to reach 25 stacks of might (and fury all the fight long).
And the sword will still be the better choice (cause it has defensive itself, especially with a dagger).
And the whirl can be nice utility. Possibel whirls could get the one or another small rework/tweak?

Some guy had the idea to make Axe 5 an ground targeting spell (ranger will use a roll or a jump like “linghtning reflexes” to get there.
This could be used as a another gapcloser (if u used swoop to dogde) or make the offhand axe a better support (and more mobile) weapon.

Inrease the range and the healing component (and scaling with healingpower).
Let it heal allies if u have traitet “Transfusion”.
Or per trait (Daggers have 2, but both are lackluster) a Chance to steal Boons or apply chill (or rnd condition per tick/chance per tick torment/weakness/chill for example).

That would be what a Necros does. Necros don´t charge or run ike..redrunners.

-A change to remove (or convert) a condition per attack (and a cooldown, dunno 8 seconds for example).

-Some soft CC, cripple or frost, possibel added on the third attack of the swords chain.

-Cooldownreduction, possibel merged with another onehanded weapon, zepter for example.

- Speedbuff, 25% faster if a sword is used. Or get some swiftness if u switch to a sword in combat.

If you are running a DPS setup, then you don’t have the extra vitality either, so you “should” have about 13,500 HP. Now, as an example, I can run full zerkers with my Warrior, and Im sitting at about 19,500 HP. That’s with nothing traited for vitality, and I guarantee you, I am outdamaging any Guard on the field by about 3 times what they can individually put out.

Just LoL, nothing more. DPS Guards deal fullbuffed about 50% more dps then every warrior. And u have in your Builds. Hard CC (GS Pull) Reflexion (Sword) Agis+Focus blocks. 2 or 3 Blinds (GS+Sword+Focus).
Or dps lost and proctection+ more cc with your Hammer (still more dps then a Warr can put out).

Invulmaking Eliteskill which is renewing your Virtuers. For example your healing signet is healing u within 1 second for about 60 or more % of your maximum health.

Unused passiv condition removing (Warrs “DPS” Builds have not even 1 condition remove, shake it off or the signet are not used in normal dps builds".

F2 +Shelter+Elite+F2 again can heal your for about 6k or more, still 50% Health. And not attackable by 4 seconds.
Oh, and with only 5 traitpoints 100% vigoruptime!

I rly don´t know why u guys still think that warriors are demigods cause of their normal maximum health.

One thing I’d really like to see is a change for Offhand Axe 5. It’s a bit clunky to use as a reflect because of it’s high cooldown.

I think Offhand Axe 5 should be a ground targeted skill, you click on an area and the Ranger would roll(similar to lightning reflexes) to the area and then initiate the reflect bubble. I think this would improve the skill’s support tremendously.

This idea is rly nice! I love it. This could make axe offhand pretty strong.

Pet´s don´t remove them. Just try to improve the AI and some flat AoE dmg reductions were it´s needed (dungeons for example not PvP).
If people want an archer without pets, we have warriors engineers and thiefs, and possibel others in future.
More “pet including” weaponskills or “ranger including” Petskills can be funny. And help to make the rangers class mechanic more unique.

Yessss ply don´t increase Greatswords dmg! We need this defensive, otherwise it could be usefull outsides of “Zerg´s”…im scared!

Forget it to balance a Weapon or builds on masses of players…were PVT guys are pushing AA only because there are are too much lags. Forget it, it will never work. Never.
WvsW/RvsR zergs are not balanced, and they never will be. Not in GW2, not in all following games.

And outside of this, GS AA 3 is not more then “nice to have”….if im lazy. Not more. This weapon need´s dmg, at least 10% or 15%. And if u are in a Zerg, your not “good” or “equal” to others here. GS dmg is lower then Guard/Warr/Nec for example. And your Pet is dead anyway (or at range and doing low singeltarget dmg).
That means, even with our “best zerg” weapon we are worse then other professions.

It IS nothing more then a niche weapon.
It´s the same like…saying “LB is good” cause u can kick people from cliffs or to use barrage on stupid SR camping thiefs.

Whirlfinisher…why not? Whirls need a big improvement anyway. In about a year or two in will be funny and good! Ok maybe not xD.

15% more weapondmg, to get this u need about 25% more dmg on AA 3. Your “free” dogde is rly expansive…defensive weapon OK…but
Sword has 2 dogdes with a Dagger 3…is this now a defensive weapon too?
What with Axe or WH?
U can´t compare GS AA with Sword AA..u have to take a look on our offhand weapons too.
Now we have the Problem. If u increase GS dps, and still are dogding 1/4 or 1/5 of the time. It could be tricky.
If u don´t increase the dmg the GS will be still not viable outside of zergs. Cause their dmg is important too (and the benefit of this dogde many times smaller). U will use the GS cause u have only Bows or the rly weak MH Axe to assist your sword.
But is this good?
Personally i would take a look how whirl/projectil finishers can be buffed. More/bigger Bolts. Stackable effects (Poison Bolts in a poison field is not usefull…weakness is the explosions part…why not torment here?).

This time again, sry for my bad english. Possibel it´s horribel this time it´s late here and i have to go to sleep….

GS has become the defacto defensive weapon with it’s block, evade, and Swoop. Removing the evade from GS #1 will DRAMATICALLY change the weapon into a niche area,

It IS a niche weapon not more. Only for big events if u can´t evade (or u´re to lazy) or WvsW Zergs. That´s all.
Cause of the low dmg their is no reason to use it anyware else. Ok, possibel PvP because their is no other good “second weapon” choice since MH Axe is so bad.

U just see what u want to see.
Nature´s vigor nerf..would be ok if Mesmer and Guard 5 Points 100% Uptimevigor got Nerfs too.
Stop to say Warrior has Condi remove AND 50 nature´s vigor. Cause it´s impossibel and not compailable.
U just need 5, only 5, yes 5! Traitpoints in a tree that most of u pick anyway. It´s for free. For nothing.

Signet needs 1 Utilityslot. All are crying about warriors…endure pain, stability, bull charge and so on. This signet is blocking 1 of them. And that´s not all.
If the passiv is not used, they have no condition remove. If they use the Condition remove, they have no passive nature´s vigor.

Warhorn must be traitet or nned Boonduration runes to get Vigor to 100% uptime. Trait need´s 20 Points and a Majortrait, and a weapon (ok a good 1 but it´s a weapon, not 5 point´s for free). There can be a Shield/Mace/Sword for example. All 3 are good choices.

The only 2 things you rly can compare with nature´s vigor are vigorous precision and critical infusion. Both are in a lot of Builds free like nature´s vigor. But twice as strong and not nerfed.
And this is (and only this) is unfair. Engineers for example need 30 Points and a Mastertrait to get it or. 20 Point´s and 2 Mastertraits….this will get nerfed. But why Mesmers and Guards not?

And pls stop argumenting so much about the warrior. Pets are bad, warrior better here or here. Oh i want this because warrios does have it too! This will kill not even your class. It will kill the game. And it´s much easier to play a warrior….
Look at the ranger, think about it, what is needed to improve the ranger. And then post your Idea.

Ranger in Zerg´s could be possibel, and good too. But the current Meta is easy. Brains out, Push W+1 (or F1 if u are a warrior) and loot loot loot.

A Condition overload Meta is possibel. U can add so much conditions that even a “zerg´s” aoe clease can´t get them off.
And to do this, Engineer/Rangers (possibel thiefs) are an important part.

But to do this, it need´s time, theorycraft, testing, buildung a Setup new gear. And probably equal Zergs (number of players).
And a lot teamplay.

So let the people play their brain afk Meta…… WvsW isn´t balanced, and it can´t be balanced. To talk about Balance in WvsW.
U need an equal number of players at the same (average) skillvl and teamplay, and no lags…does this ever happen?

They already get 2 seconds of protection when you dodge, so you need a good timing for that, but even 2 seconds of protection won’t save the pets life often.

U´re not able to pick up this trait in “good” PvE Builds. And a lot of Bosses don´t rly care about “Protection”. Lupicus Kick=Flying cat, 1 or 2 times…protection doesn´t rly matter.
SE P1 Last Boss same game. Red Circles=dead Pet. Only Bear´s can survive this a few times (if u´re healing them). But they deal so low dmg….no1 want´s a ranger with bear.

To farm glory because of the AoE dmg (Hitting all players at once/easy…to get points from each)? Haha, that shouldn´t be a reason to say “hey, this weapon is fine l2p”….
To do this, u can throw a few traps and pick up a real weapon.

Show me a well playing and winning tPvP LB ranger, or WvsW smallscale! And i want to see real good fight´s…not this black/white introduction linkin park music vids. Even 5 Signet Rifle warriors can make them and look “good” or “wellplayed”.

. One idea we talked about for Greatsword would be to take the evade off of the 3rd attack of the auto-chain and put it on swoop. This would give you a second on-demand defensive skill and instead we put something less timing based (for example a whirl finisher) on that third attack to empower it.

Main-hand sword
I just want to clarify for good that main hand sword is currently working as intended. All movement skills cannot be interrupted by dodging and this is currently intentional. It has a very specific play style, and I would like it to remain. I understand that rangers want a one handed melee option that is more mobile, but that will have to wait, as I know there are a mix of players who also like how this weapon plays and I do not want to take away one of the more unique playstyles that we have and replace it with something that is fairly common.

GS, are u planning to make it more viable in PvE too? That means…more DPS. At the 1handed sword is about 15% better. Even if u interrupt the third AA always if possibel. Even Swoop is in Melee Combat a small DPS increase….

That means, your Idea of removing the dogde and replacing it by a whirl is nice. I like it.
Dogde on demand should be better and funnier too.
But whirl finisher´s are usually not rly strong. And their effect´s often are based on luck.
It would be nice to improve GS AA 3 and add a whirl.

Possibel it´s hard to do. But increasing Mauls Casttime and add more dmg, or reducing third AA Casttime and improve dmg a little bit. Would be make the weapon feel more “round”.

The thing why a lot of people don´t like the 1handed sword ist not only the “unique” playstyle. I can understand this.
But it is still the best weapon if u want to do DPS. And 15% are not a small diffrent…that´s rly much.
Don´t forget that WH/Axe/Dagger are bringing some utility/defense or more dmg too.

This Fury for GS/Spear….will not help. U can´t take it with “maxdps and support (spotter)” Builds. And u have Fury anyway. Skirmishing 15+Warhorn+Warrior or so. Fury long long enough….so this will only effect rly defensive powerbuilds without skirmishing and Warhorn.
Longbow…this weapon is still not rly viable. SR Thiefs or warrios without stability but 98% cripple/immo reduction are not the best situations to make a weapon usefull…

2 ist still lower dmg then AA at 1000+range. With your buffs at midrange it will do the same dmg. Only using a 5Seconds channeld skill to track some thiefs or add a little bit vul ist not rly fun.
So decrease CD and Casttime (to 3Seconds) and let the dmg as it is. And/or removing dmg penalty from the AA.
If u want a “Longbow feeling”…add this to 5. More “Waves” and more dmg if u are far away. And less if u are close to the target.
It´s not logical, u´re shooting 2seconds, and arrows will hit the target´s area 5seconds later…after 2 meters of flying. U understand what i mean? U should rename “barrage” in “timewarp arrows”.

The second thing is, a knockback is funny. But it´s a little bit bad if u want to play LB+Meleeweapon.
Immobilize should work to.

Axe…it suxx a little bit or? U have a midrange “hybrid” weapon with rly rly low direct dmg but skillable 10% critical dmg…an Axe should hurt and not “jump from target to target”….and were does all the axes came from?
1 is flying and u are throwing the next….i think this needs a rework, not only a buff.

And last. An Idea for the future. We have a lot of Problems with +dmg and pets. Sigil of the Hunt does only increase 1 Attack..most Pets have attacks this do multiple Hits. It doesn´t stack with “Sick´em” for example.

I think i´ve got a solution. Some Skills (Weapon and Utility) does give your Pet Bonusdmg. Like…the Warrios F1 rage bar. Only passiv. But the player has influence by using Skills. Possibel u could make a second bar for Petdefense.

And/or, Beastmastery +Attribute from the rangers. And “Master´s bond” could be the same. Grandmastertrait Beastmastery. For example 5% of the Pets Attributes aconverted to the ranger…and 5% of the ranger´s attributes are converted to the pet. If u pick up a Cat u will get more dmg. If u pick up a Bear u´ll get a lot vitality.

Read what i wrote. They´re no bleedings included. Bleedings do dmg even if u are Zerker…not much but enough to push the SB.
5 and more Stacks are easy applied, with 40 dmg per Bleed we have 200 more dps.

Will u Guys ever remove the Lighfield from Hammers AA Chain?
It´s rly bad in Teamgame and hard to controll without losing your proctection AND tons of dmg.
Most times Water/Fire/Frost/Aetherfields are much stronger.
But u can´t use them well with this weapon.

Skill 5 IS actually a light field. Not in the Tooltip but its works ingame…fix this Tooltip.

Rework Hammers AA, let the Symbol+Protection there, only make it no Combofield….
That would be rly awesome especially for PvE, the Hammer would be a much better choice.

If longbow did 100% damage at close range it would be a real beast in a berserker setup.

Lol, do some math. LB dmg is only better then SB if u can´t add the Bleedings. Even in Zerker Setup SB will outdmg LB by far. Only good and high dmg skill is LB 5.

2 ist only for Vul or track target enemys. Dmg/Casttime is lower then AA on 1000+range. And LB AA is bad! Even for a ranged weapon.

Add a Stealth Attack to 1, more dmg if u are closer to the target. Remove Kick, add Immo on 4. Increase 2 dmg. Let the LB do it´s maxdmg everytime. And reduce 3 CD bei 2 seconds or so.

Then u have a good weapon to combinate with your Greatsword.

Curses IV – Weakening Shroud. Increase recharge from 15 to 25.

This will nearly destroy all 30/10/0/0/30 (or similar) Dagger/Dagger[Focus] + Staff Hybruidbuilds. In PvE they are already weaker…and in PvP + WvsW…now too

Why do u guys kill “exotic” Builds and gameplays? Build varity will never happen if rare Builds are losing their gameplay keys.

At first, sry for my bad english usually im only reading here.

Pls add more dmg to Greatsword AA 3. If u want “max dps” u have to interrupt the AA as often as u can (with 2 and even 3)….that doesn´t feel well. GS dmg is still about 15% lower then Sword.
So u can add dmg here, would be rly awesome.

At least a flat AoE dmg reduction for Pets in dungeons would be good. A lot of Bosses have “1hit” attacks that kill Pets and are not avoidable for them. For example last Boss in SE P1. Cats and Birds are nessecary for good DPS. With a Bear a ranger can´t do good dmg.

Would be rly nice if u change LB and GS to make both more viable! Thanks for reading.

At first sry for my bad english. Usually im only reading here. But i like the Longbow so i have to say something.

If 1 and 2 are not completly reworked, u can add 50% damage and the weapon will still be bad.
LB in PvE=Kick, LB in WvsW=freeloot, LB in tPvP=Head>table. Viable? were? Farming afk Bosses?

Make it tactical add “stealth attack” with high dmg to 1 more dmg if u are closer to the target.
Possibel add a Chain to 1, an let it do everytime the same dmg. Add Bonusdmg on long range to 5, were it should be.

Make 2 “Aimed Shot”, Pushing the Button longer will increase the dmg done. This function is in the game. Found in at Asura starting Area on some “heart” rifles.
If u channel 2 or 3 Seconds it should hurt much! Not “lol” dmg as we have at the Moment.

Lower 3 CD to 10 Seconds.

Add Immo to 4 and remove the knockback, u should be able to combinate Melee+Range, knocking enemys back is bad if u want to switch on a Meleeweapon. It´s bad for Teamplay often too. Immo is much better here. Possibel longer Immo if the target is closer.

5 add more dmg at “long” range, and lower closer to the target. if u are in Melee 5 should not do “DPS” only cripple. At long Range it should do high dmg as now.

Pls rework the Longbow, this weapon does not make any scense! I would rly like to use mine as a “viable” option. Espacially in Dungeons with the Greatsword/Sword for example.

Never play with Magic Find in groups! The can´t remove it soon enough……in PvE, Dungeons and Fractals the best thing u can do in a group is to play Berserkerstyle.

In WvsW Clerics oder Zerg/Knight mixed for big fights.

Zerk/Valkyrie Power and Critical dmg are the same. Possibel Sholar Runes(im using them). And using a Signetbuild.

With Mawl GS2 u can hit for over 25k possibel 30k+ fullbuffed.

GS/Axe Swap with 10sec cooldown on Weaponswap? This is idea is even more worse then my english.

Tactic´s VI “Empower” is bad in most CoF Groups too. Fury, Might and Swiftness, possibel Regeneration or Vigor/Protection (4 Boons if the Mesmer don´t use a 20/20/0/0/30 Shatterbuild) isn´t enough to make Empower better then 10% criticaldmg.

Just rework the scepter and Staff (Staff atm is not a Weapon, only a supportitem.. -.-). And/or add a ranged (dps/support) offhand (with 10-25sec Cooldowns to make it interresting).
Warhorn for example (yes, why not?, it´s magical!). Or change the torch into an ranged weapon, and add WH for meleecombat…

PvE Rifle Warrior Build Final Tweaks

Rifle damage is inferior to melee damage single target. It’s far inferior to melee damage with multiple targets thanks to cleave and AE skills. The only thing you gain from rifle is the ability to fight at range but to me that just means you are standing outside of heal range while all the other melee are getting heals and protection and other boons because they are nicely clumped up around the boss.

There’s a case for going Rifle in WvWvW because of Kill Shot’s burst and the way zerging is, but in PvE? /boot (not really, but I sigh inside)

That´s it, range DPS is far behind Melee DPS.

For example, Axe can do 4-5k AA in CoF, all the time, no Break, not necessary to wait for your two dmg Abilities (Volley and Killshot, other Skills do rly low dmg).

Even if u make a Longbow/Rifle Rotation (Volley/Killshot>switch to LB for 3 and 2 and stonger AA). Your DPS will be far behind a non Glass Canon Meleewarrior.

Other Classes do more range dmg, and they have got more Support or useful skills if they play ranged combat (Elementalmage for example).

If u play a Warrior in PvE, u have got 2 great things.

1. Rly high dps
2. the best offensive Teamsupport u can get in this Game.

If u play ranged, u will lose the first part.

I wanted to play my Warrior Rifle/LB based (because it´s low of fun!), but after i reached lvl 80 (4 month ago), i learned how much more dmg GS/Axe or even a Sword can do.

Rifle AA is the only Warrior WW which scales better with Condition dmg then Power. And u will use a lot AA because u have only a 8 and 10 Sec CD for good DPS.

But finally, better a good range Warrior with nice LB/Rifle Rotation and good Skills (Banners, Shouts and so on) then a melee bad Warrior.

If the Melee is bad and have to use Knight´sgear (oder even Soldier) to surrive, and the range has got Zerkers….i would prefer the Zerker Rifle/LB i think.

Btw: Burst Skills cost less, should be better.

1. U will not lose all Dmg Bonus from Zerkers Power and heighent Focus.

2. U are able to use Burstskills all 10 Sec. Without wasting Healing Surge oder using Signet of Precision/Zerkers Stance to get Adrenalin faster.

3. If u use LB/Rifle Rotation, the 8 sec CD would be useless anyway.

Warhorn in PvE works better with Banners. Because to make Shoutheal usefull, u need -20% CD or “Shrug it Off”.

With Banners u can take “Quick breathing”.

In WvsW Banners are often not so usefull, only if u are attacking/defending a keep.
10/0/0/30/30 Build for example, if u want to use Evicerate often. But u can play it as a Shoutbuild too.

What do u guys think about the sword in 1 offhand (other Mace or Shield) for dps/block in PvE?
4 Deals good dmg if u let the bleeding stack up, and 5 is a good blockingskill with only 15sec CD.

Possibel they mean 3k Attack. But 3k should be possibel. ~ 2250 with 30 Points in Zeal, 25 Stacks Might, 25 Stacks Bloodlust and 100 from Food. And at least Banner of Strengh (70 Power).

I would say GS=/>Axe if u can use HB on cooldown, and WA against and wall or u are rooted/crippled.

If not Axe>GS. (But still close).

But this will only happen, if the Axewarrior will get Mightstacks too. GFJ, Sigil of Battle and 25Points Disciplin should give ~12Stacks or more. Banner/Signet and u are at 17 Stacks.

I personlly don´t like the GS so much, i hate 100B because of the selfroot.
Axe/Sword+Axe/Mace is my favourite at the moment. But i always carry all other Weapons (and a third Axe) with me. The Shield for example is often rly usefull to stay in meleecombat for more dps.

So i think we can say, both weapons are great. Does any other profession have this Choice in PvE for max dps?

So u should play what u want. If u´re mastering your weapon, it doesn´t rly matter what u play. And this is perfect i think.

Play the Game like u want…1 of the GW2 Slogans, PvE DPS Warrios can do it!. Enjoy it.

Add Fiery Wrath ( and 100 more Power), ~15% more Critchance (without Fury, with u can add 20% more, your Build will not benefit from it, or used it already) and 30% more Critdmg to your first calculation.

U will see that it can get close (~20% dmg less). Don´t do math to get numbers you want to see. Do it correct. Only use complete un/buffed Stats, beacuse all Buffs can get from both builds.

The only thing im impressed is your Critchance (rly high), and Power (a litte bit, im at 3500 with offensive Build 20 Points in Zeal with stacked Bloodlust). No Food. No Mightstacks.

Im sure now, you were right and i was false, Guardians DPS can be good.

Dmg Diffrence are based of the Build. 200 Power 15% flat dmg increase. 200 Precision (~10% Critchance), 10% flat dmg increase. But 30% more Critdmg for the AH Build (and ~4% Critchance)
If u compare 0/5/30/30/5 with 20/25/0/25/0.

5% flat dmg increase and 100 Power, 250 Precision and 10% flat dmg increase. And only 5% more critdmg for the AH Build (but u will lose empowering Might and 10% dmg at low endurance).

If u compare 10/0/30/30/0 with 20/25/25/0/0 (possibel max DPS Specc, but im not sure)
And some others. Are still out there, the signetbuild is for me no Option. It want my Slotskills to be teamplay/support based. Guardians Slotskills are msot times to useful to use signets.

So i think we can say, 30Valor and 30 Honor AH Builds does about 20-30% (only a Number, not a calculation) less DPS then a DPS Build.

Today i will do some DPS Tests on risen Giants so figure out how big the diffrence between Guards and Warrios are.

With 25 Stacks Might and Vulnerability i was able to hit the Priest of Grenth for over 6k with GS Chain 3.

Thats rly not bad.
But im missing Inspired Virtue for exmaple.

That an AH build will do as much damage as a DPS build with Radiant Power and Fiery Wrath by virtue of 30% more critical damage? Or that the survivability of an AH build offsets any DPS advantage of a straight damage build? Or something else?

Not as much dmg, but rly close. And then the second, advantage offset. Because Warriors do so much more dmg. That´s the reason why i think, a DPS Guard is not neccesary, or possibel bad.

But i will run a dps build now.

U have no Idea how much dmg Warrios can do, Axe Autohit can do more then 6k dmg (Chain 3), 3 Hits in 1,5sek! 4k+ are normal without 20+Stacks of Might.
And u can play Axe/Sword (5 is a Block 15sek CD) for example to avoid dmg. Axe Offhand 1kittens in 3 1/2 Sec with Food….2-3 monsters and u can heal your complete health.

Warrios GS is stronger too, u forget Whirlwind Attack. And HB, 30k+ in 3,5sec, is not rare.

I play both professions as mainclasses. And i know what dmg both can do, and Guards are far behind.

But i will test your build, for a week or so.

Sigil of Blood has got a 5Second CD, Tooltip is wrong. And AH Builds can use this Food too.
And u will lose 30% of Critdmg, to get 10% Dmg and Precision (AH Builds can take Fiery Wrath too)….(don´t forget that u will lose ~4% Critchance from Retributive Amor, and 2 will have 2-3 for 2h Weapons useless Major Traits in Radiance).

And 1h Weapons are dealing less dmg, espacially if u want to do AoE. What mean, u will get less healing (from Food) too.

Yes, it can. Not alone, but if u are playing i a good group yes. Mightstacking should be an important part of Teamplay. Warbanner helps here btw. Signet of Rage not. That´s why Warbanner>Signet of Rage if u aren´t alone.

U forget the Critdmg Bonus from speccing Valor.
And some Builds are better then others.

The power u get from Zeal, is weaker then the Might for u and your Team u get from Empowering Might.
Except, u have got a Party with perma 25Stacks of Might for all.

With your Zealbuilds u lose -20% CD on 2h weapons and Empowering Might. Which increases your DPS and the DPS of your partymembers too! 3-5Stacks for 3 or more people are better then Power out of Zeal.
And u lose dmg at low endurance too..and Support for your Team.

I can easy take 5 points out of Virtues and Radiance to get Fiery Wrath. Another Problem is, Radiance is a good dmg increase (Radiant Power and Precision) OK, but for 2handed Weapons all Majortraits are sucky.
Honor does have a lot of good Traits like i said.

And your Dmg will still be less compared to a Warrior. And the Warrior will stay easier in Meleecombat.

Dmgformula: Power* K*(Critchanche*Critdmg).
20 Power
2020*(10.5*1.50)=3535

20 Precision [~1% more CritChanche]
2000*(10.6*1.5)=3800

So 1Precision will give u more dmg then 1 Power. At 150% Critdmg.
