As a PvE point of view. I don´t like Axe Gameplay without Eviscerate, and using the GS F1 sometimes would be funny too (possibel GS only gameplay with it).
But this skills is rly bad.
PvE Warrs lost something since the big that patch switchted hightend focus and berserkes power to grandmaster traits…
Weapon XI is way to weak too.

Mobgruops are irrelevant most times so i see no reasopn to pick this. 2 LH Ele and Trash is history before u engaged the fight.
Possibel 10% more critchance vs trash (unrealistic best case) and more then 5% lower dps vs bosses? I will never recommand this build, especially it´s unlogic.
To make a build with 100% critchance vs trash and lower boss dps. And then picking items that are lowering the trash benefit lol.
Oh and Trash often dies at the same time. So there is no trash benefit often.

And, opening striks are 100% crit anyway, why assasin? I still can´t the point why 30 MM is better, even for “Burstdps”.
I start to hate WvsW cause of this stupid brainless Zerg Gameplay the only alternativ to our sword will stay useless in ALL other gamepart´s.
And GS is a horribal bad Zerg weapon btw. It´s better the ranger will do smallscale, less player´s, less lags better then a 100 dps GS ranger. I can´t understand this argument.
A Zerg cannot win without killing other players. And the GS can´t even help here.
If they will buff the DPS onpar with sword + the evade. Ok im happy. But i think this won´t happen.

Why 30 in Marksman? Jaguar´s don´t get opening strikes back with their stealth.
An he don´t have 100% critical change while stealthed.
Testet it a lot of times in HotM, so this 10 Points are wasted in my opinion.
25 in NM should be stronger and u´re more flexible what could be important in future fotms.

I don´t say it would be op, only strong. Engineers for example have a more blast finisher to heal allies. Not easy to handle but rly strong.
But i don´t want to compare classes this way.
Blast on Maul..sure why not. But i prefer real AoE (5 targets) and bleeding or possibel weakness (not AoE, will get nerfed like weakening shroud or so).
U can use both axt/shield + axt/sword is ok too. If u can´t/want to handle GS 3.
But i prefer GS+Axe/Sword.
Not only GS, swoop (jump), horn (blast) sword (jump) possibel drake (blast).
5*1k healing would be strong.
I calculated each build with 25 Might stacks, not sure where you got the idea I did it with 0 Might.
6 boons is absurd, you don’t average 6 boons in an organized group for any extended period of time. 3 Boons is the average, and its what we use for Empowered.
I didn’t say anything about the cool down reduction or axe rotation so thats a non-sequitor. You asked for the math and I gave it to you.
protection, fury, might, retal, swiftness should have a 100% uptime unless you are running a full zerker group without an anchor guard in which case 4 sounds right.
Anchorguard with Retatlation and Protection means Hammer.
Hammer means a stupid 90% of time active Lightfield.
Lightfield will get triggert.
Not fire.
Lack of Might.
30/25 will be better cause of mightstacking/solo DPS.
The guard will do less dmg (no GS/S+F rotation).
Group will loose dmg.
This complete discussion will be for the cat (nonsense/useless).
If we want to argument this style. Pick a ranger for regeneration and a extra big waterfield. Possibel a LH ele could trigger might by an ember´s fire field…horribel scenario.
And just a real question, where should vigor come from? Guard´s with x/x/x/5/25 can calculate it, but warriors?
And for permareg the ranger has to trait 33% longer reg duration (losing about 2-3% personal dps) or boon duration runes/amor. Or pick guard (the shout, big dps loss) and voice of nature (another 10% dps loss or 7% critchance for all…) looks like a bad trade.

Only Fire and Poison are needing a stack for each player.
Weakness/Chill and so not.
Bleeding/Torment/Confusion could get increased stacklimit 50 or more for example.
I think this rune will get an internal CD.
Aegis “chaining” could be too strong.
Interesting would be the the second effect (2nd or 3rd, aegis will be 6th).
With a 25% DPS increase on Dagger 1 Necros will be topped only by LH Ele and nothing else.
Don´t think 100B is soo much stronger. It needs 30% more time to execute then Axe 2. And Axe is imo not the DPS Weapon. That´s the dagger.
Direct AoE is a problem true. But most times in PvE “Burst AoE” is important, kill trash fast or skip it.
And that´s the biggest problem. Necros are slow.
And they have bad support, defensive…meh ok. Offensive…bad only Vul but no might. Taking a Nekro for Vul will most times resulting in losing Mightstacks or other nice support.
Warriors Banners oder rangers Spirit/Spotter. In my PvE Group´s i don´t like 3 warrs…
only 1 or 2, better a ranger (most times me^^) or Ele, but Nekros are lacking a little bit.
A Chain is a Chain, other skills are interupting a chain, and they should do it.
Only dogderolls don´t interuppt them sometimes. Guardian´s Hammer for example, Smybol of protection is useable after a dogderoll.
If u don´t want to finish the AA, and let "3"stay for a few seconds, there is no reason to don´t dogde “normal”. Cause other skills are not for using on CD, they should use in diffrent situations.
The Chain is that thing that should be used if other skills are not nessecary. And not a on demand dogde. For this are special defensive skills like sword 3 or GS 4 and “V”.

From my pve perspective:
I’d recommend an increase of at least 25% – 50% in physical damage on every skill on every weapon. Or lower the recast of the two wells that do damage.

Im kicking all GS ranger´s who are waiting with AA3 out of my dungeon and PvP Groups.
Bowrangers are better then this…. Even if GS AA will get buffed, it will change nothing, waiting 1/2seconds will increase AA executetime by about 20% and lowering DPS (waiting is time where u do nothing, no dmg, no evade, that´s this evade is so bad).
If Maul is rdy even more.
Or the damage of GS #1 chain could be increased by a % lower than 30 and keept below Sword #1 chain, while GS #2 could receive another small buff as well, to fully compensate for the Bleeds it lost a while back. Weapon’s damage should be balanced around the whole skillset it offers, not around the AA exclusively. GS is designed to be a spike damage weapon, with damage coming primarily from both #1 and #2 and Sword to be sustain damage weapon, with damage coming primarily from #1. GS AA should be stronger than it is now, but it will never be equal to Sword AA, nor it should be.
But really, buff or not, that evade on GS #1 will hardly ever be OP, because you still have to time it for it to be worth anything.
Besides, if you think that it’s the evade on AA that stops Anet from increasing GS damage further, you’re naive. GS problems started back between the BWEs when it has been butchered by an overnerf. If the evade was the problem, it would’ve been dealt with back then. Instead, it was the damage that was overnerfed by a large margin, while the evade remained untouched. There are two key problems now. First – larger buff to damage would require devs to admitt they have made a mistake back then. Unfortunately, that’s not something that comes easy to Anet. Second – finding the right % for the buff, to avoid repeating the OP state GS was at the beginning of BWEs. Sadly, those two issues will probably result in GS not seeing any improvements to damage in the nearest future at all.
If you know the argument is foolish, why do you even use it? By your logic if it is impossible to achieve perfect balance in a particular game mode, it’s perfectly fine to ignore it and make decisions that will gut one class even more in regard to that mode? Tell you what, as long as sPvP is about condi meta, GS will be useless in that mode too, let’s ignore it as well.
1, If the dmg was OP, why the sword stayed untouched? I calculatet with Maul 1/4 avoid.
Even if only the AA is buffed my a small margin, it would be the same.
Buffing AA and using it only would be:
- about 5 or 10% lower DPS then sword but 1/3 of the time evade. Still OP.

The main argument, is doing dmg while dogding. But the dmg is so low, all the time even if don´t need to dogde.
And, if u have to time this dogde anyway, why u need a “passive” evade??
This this arguments are logical fail.
More better timed dogdes (cause of vigor and/or endu gain per hit) will increase effective defense. And will allow Anet to buff dps.
Simple reason, the player have to dogde. If u can get 2 things.
1. passiv 1 active, both are exactly equal. Why should some1 choose the active thing?

Warriors healing signet for example. Healing surge is used by nobody these days…(but in a 30sec fight with burstphase it´s healing more then the signet). But all are running with the signet, even the “best” PvP Warriors…it´s healing if u dogde, it´s not interuptable and so on.
Now back to the GS, never thought that this avoid was the reason for a dmg nerf?
Great defensive, or offensive. But both? That was the reason for the BWE Nerf.
Without utility a defensive weapon is useless. And the GS utility is not rly well (it´s ok if the weapon will do swordlike dps).
Ranger´s don´t need a defensive weapon like this, ranger defensive it not bad. It´s one of the best ingame. Only active condition remove (without 30 points in sv) is lacking.
U say, look about the whole weapon. But then u say a whirl only is bad?
Take a look about all “my” ideas. All of them together could be too strong too. There will be.
1. More utility then now (whirl, weakness)
2. still nice defensive when needed (endu per hit, vigor)>more defensive synergies to other weapons, more build varity.
3. support (vigor for allies, and/or swiftness for the pet)
4. dps as much is needed to make the weapon viable
5. a strong defense skill with “fixed” counterkick"evade".
The Bigscale argument:
A not balanceable content (PvP or PvE are balanceable, smallscale too, only bigscale not). Is a reason to say “it´s fine” (a lot of guys are doing this, 10. dec thread or here or others…)
But to say it´s not balanced cause of this is not a reason?

Powerrangers weakness ist: – No active condition remove, 30 or more points in “defensive” traits are must have.
- only 1 weapons with “dmg”, GS is way to low.
Toughness will help nothing. Neither more dps, neither against conditions. To avoid direct dmg we have alot of evadeskills.
Improving the pet´s AI a little bit. AoE reduction where it´s nessecary for all ranger´s.
All who want to play without a pet, play 1 of 7 other classes. Problem solved.
Other class mechanic´s are not less “broken”. Don´t be so close minded.
Ok well, pet´s have a lot of problems, they make trouble. But this can´t be solved so easy. Just for fun, small a review to other classes mechanics (and our pet´s).
Warrios F1, can be avoided, needs 30 Points to work (or more, without 30 disciplin 80% of all F1 uses are wasted, exluding exotic builds).
U´ve ever seen a warrior using Greatsword F1?
Necros, only defensive for conditionbuilds (PvP and PvE), PvE dps needs it only for AoE…useless class mechanic is not broken?
Phantasms can be dogded, they get destroyed easylie. Cause of this mechanic Mesmer are nearly broken in high end PvE. Only if u want reflections and timewarp (but u can do more dps without a mesmer and adding a class that can do dmg).
Thief stolen things are often funny, but not more. Their skillsystem is getting nerfed often..cause they can “spam” rly strong attacks.
Guardians…sometimes pushing 1 of 3 buttons is a class mechanic?^^
Engii…some are bugged (ground target+ Static Discharge for example), they have to build around it. It´s working and funny. But not “perfect” Sometimes u want a special slotskill, but the toolbelt skill is useless and u have to take another u don´t like.
Just for example.
Pet´s…F2 can be solved by the player, just wait 1-2seconds and it will work.
Delay…should be fixed.
Pet movement..a problem, but the player can help with cc/soft cc. Other classed have to use their mechanic and play the style the mechanic is telling them.
30% of your dps is too slow? Make your enemy slower…Yes the AI is bad here, but possibel it will get fixed in future (half year/year).
1 Hit attacks are killung your pet´s? WvsW Bigscale AoE too? Ok, AoE reduction is needed here.
PvE…in all dungeons/from champs/legends skills.
WvsW…2000 or 3000 (radius?) around the pet. Per enemy player inside, the pet will get a little bit reduction.
5vs5…nothing happen
10vs10 15% reduction
20vs20 30%
30vs30 45%
40vs40 60%+
Number´s are for examble only. And this can be fixed.
And what can´t be fixed by your idea to stow a pet.
Drake..explosion finisher (if the drake is stowed the ranger can fart to heal allies?^^), their strong AoE, Confusion for PvP conditionbuilds.
Knockdown/fear from dogs
rawrs/jumps from cat´s
all other condition pet´s are applying. Vul, Bleeding…
Tactical gameplay with range pet´s, the pet´s dmg is not bad, but the ranger is fast..avoiding, defensive..if u to choice.
Follow the ranger? or try to kill the pet and let the ranger do dmg to me?
All Traits, Natures magic 15 and 25 useless, skimishing…a lot of strong traits which are defiening our current meta builds (PvE 20/25/0/25 for example) will throwed away… the complet beastmastery traitline (and skills, shouts for example all useless without a pet) useless completly imbalanced.
This can´t be balanced by passiv boni if the pet is stowed.
Forget this idea it can´t work.

Increasing (and don´t removing the evade) the weapon´s DSP by about 15-20% (what´s it rly need, with! Maul and interrupting AA 3 as often u can) will resulting in a few scenarios.
1. Increase DPS of the Chain by about 30% (or more). U will do Sword/Horn, or Warrios Axe or Guardian Sword DPS.
But still avoiding 1/4 (with Maul) of all incomming dmg, without! using any defense skill, or knowing what u have to do.
That looks a bit wiered or? I would say OP. Endurance per hit or 2/3sec vigor on swoop (no avoid here) can be better. For defensive (more dogdes when they are rly needed), and offensive (dmg when u want dmg, an not forced u use a weak AA) without being op.
2. Buff Maul to increase Weapon DPS by 15%, that means another…uhm 50? percent dmg on this
…AoE low CD…spamming Maul will be insane burst, ok dps.
Awful gameplay (never! NEVER! using AA3…..) but no defense.
Or spamming AA…low dmg, and the same we have now. But still “OP” Burst…

WvsW Bigscale is never balanced, rangers suck´s with GS or without, why should be the weapon stay useless cause of this? In PvE>useless PvP>too weak Small Scale>too weak.
If a gamemode is not balanceable, why should a weapon/class be balanced here? I know this argument is a bit foolish. I don´t like it, but it is a good question.
At least, counterkick/block. I wrote often here. Counterkick should be useable while moving, and an evade itself.
This+ al little bit endu per hit (10) + a little bit (3sec max, better 2) vigor on swoop (swiftness too, for the pet, u´re in range but the pet is somewhere..).
Will make is much better. On top would be rly nice.
Weakness to Maul (only main target, if this is possibel AoE Weakness with 4-6sec CD will be too strong)
>better in PvP and WvsW bigscale too (support), for PvE…some classes do more dmg per condition on the target. In future cc could be usefull and not dps only.

U´re right, i hope there will be a chance to make min/maxed condition builds nearly equal to others. But this is hard to do.
Combos and control have not rly a good role in current PvE too. Mightstacking ok…but others? There effect´s are often bad in PvE.
They are weak (poison on enemys which don´t heal themselfs) and they don´t stack (burning enemy is burning..they can´t burn more).
Wait, when did they say anything about this change? This would absolutely ruin the ranger GS unless they made the other skills more powerful than the Warrior GS skills.
I mean the only reason I use the GS at all is that evade for fighting off mobs; everything else on the ranger GS is really just underwhelming…
Rangers need endurance and evades as it’s our primary survival tool; thieves have stealth and warriors have greater damage and higher base vit and armor (not to mention access to just as much endurance regen).
I mean even the nerf to natural vigor is a poor decision on their part (and again; warriors get the better version of a something we have…).

Oh, really now? Warriors have access to almost just as much if not more and have higher base vit and armor. They can get 10s of vigor every 20 seconds, have signet of stamina, Building Momentum (burst skills restore endurance), etc. Warriors also have many more defensive/survival utilities than the ranger and on lower cool downs! (endure pain + the endure pain trait + a shield invuln + all their vigor/endurance etc…. Rangers essentially only have their evasive qualities: why nerf that?)

I get to tiered to explain why pro GSAA Evade arguments are all foolish….this weapon suck so hard cause it don´t do dmg.
Block is strong, Swoop is strong.
Hilt Bash needs a fix to hit targets better. Maul is ok.
The only thing that´s bad is the AA Chain, there are alot of possibilitys to “buff” this weapon in dps/dmg and giving it enough utility to make it a viable weapon.
U shouldn´t compare with warrior GS only, it is NOT so strong, it can´t be a stand alone weapon in PvP/WvsW and in PvE it´s DPS is about 5% lower then Axe/GS rotation or 2-3% then fullbuffed pure Axe.
It´s a good viable weapon, but not god under weapons. Ranger GS should be this too, and a stupid rnd evade will not help here.
U´ll get 30% less dmg, but dealing 30% less dmg…now tell where this should be usefull?
Dead enemys don´t make dmg anymore, in PvP/WvsW and PvE dps/dmg is important.
A low utility low dps weapon with a little bit extra defensive can´t be viable.
Warrior Mace for example is a strong CC/Def weapon, lower dps but warrios have 5sec weaponchange if traited. We have to stay for 10 seconds with this weapon where all enemys get tickled from. And healing themselfs with passive heals…
Try to play a warrior with Mace/Shield, and stay for 10secs this too use the AA Chain.

Fire ist alot stronger, even with some conditiondmg. U´ll need alot of conditiondmg to make this sigil “viable” 1 stack is to weak.
It would get nerfed because they’re already taking steps towards nerfing endurance regen across certain classes, and that included Ranger unfortunately. They nerfed Vigorous Renewal recently, and Natural Vigor is going to be nerfed with the December 10th patch. Adding endurance regen to GS would go against this policy, and it doesn’t really matter whether the regen is “flat” or “on-hit” kind.
Frankly, potential improvement of GS playstyle with all this would be marginal, if any at all. Yes, we would get more options. But most of them would be “meh” at best anyway. Issues GS suffers from are tied to its effectivenes above all else, not flexibility.
And no, Vulnerability on GS #3 is in no way fair and balanced in comparison with Might on Sword #1. In fact, Vulnerability could be moved to GS #1. It’s a condition that has been designed to enhance spike damage, not to be applied with it.
They nerf Endureg cause of to much avoids. Losing AA Evade will make space, dev itself said (adding vigor on AA 3). For example.
Vul on AA…good idea like it would be better true. Possibel a few long duration Bleedings on Maul again?
At the moment it´s better to grab a warrior´s banner to do dps instead of using the GS AA…
Why it would get nerfed? Losing a “rnd” but high uptime Evade with low dps.
But getting a little bit more dogderolls when they are needed.
Lower evadeuptime, less dmg when u dogde, but higher dmg without dogding.

Just for an example.
GS AA needs a buff about..20 or 30% (last hit, not the full chain). This+whirl+endurance per hit, could make the GS gameplay more fluently in a lot of Situations. 1 AA Chain 1 Maul 2 AA Chains and so on.
And at last. U can´t compare endurance per hit with flat endurance buffs. Cause u have to attack (cripple/chill/immo/stun or u have to use another skill, hilt bash for example).
If u get kited or ccd, evade on AA won´t help. But a little bit more endurance gain before u got controlled, can change something.
Edit: 1 Thing, Sword has got Might on AA, but GS has got Vul on Maul, that´s fair and balanced in think.

And a way to make this weapon viable and balanced.
Evade on swoop will be too strong. It would get nerfed after a few weeks or month´s. And it is primarly a gap closer and it does this job well.
What GS need´s is raw DPS not Might. Might is easy to get and will help sologamer´s but in groups the weapon will still be behind MH Sword.
Conditionremove…not a bad idea, but a whirl can do this too. And would be a little bit uniqe utility.
Conditioremove should be on 7-9 skills, signets for example.

I would visit a doctor. It´s a game, play what is fun. If u had fun u´ll lose nothing. Cause u can get al lot of fun by leveling new. With the new hopefully better system.
I thought ogre whistles are removed from the game? The old vendor is selling ogre pet potion´s only.
Most of this ideas won´t help.
1. Endurance per Hit on AA 3, possibel a whirl finisher too.
2. A few seconds vigor+swiftness on swoop (possibel for allies 2-3secs should be enough).I wouldn’t want endurance gain/vigor on the greatsword. Dodging and then getting back in range is time you’re not attacking, so it turns the greatsword too much into a low-damage high-defense weapon, and breaks the in-your-face feeling, which is the wrong direction imo. Plus acrobatics during combats fits the thief’s dagger but not so much the ranger.
And a freaking low DPS useless AA Chain with a rnd most times useless dogde is what?
Bad for defensive and aweful offense!

This weapon will stay useless in 95% of the game if they won´t buff dps and removing the rnd dogde.

If u´re waiting with AA3 to dogde u will lose more dmg then u will get, this argument is foolish too.
The DPS of this is weapon is so bad cause of this stupid dogde, 20% lower DPS then MH Sword is your prize if u are autoattacking. Waiting with AA3…it won´t get better.
Ranger´s have so much dogdeskills, u can play GS+Sword/Dagger vor example. Utilitys, vigor.
They lack in 2 things.
1. active condition remove
2. Low DPS with most weapons, especially greatsword. GS rangers are just a Joke in both PvP and PvE.
What does it help?
Evading a warrios Axe AA but getting an Evis in the face…evading lupicus locust swarm but getting a kick in the butt.
In PvE i will kick LB rangers and GS rangers too. I trained hard to manage the MH sword, cause it´s 1000times stronger if u can handle it.
But i wanted to build Twilight for my ranger…my first charcter, and i don´t want to be useless with it!

Condition dmg in PvE is fail, think what u want. But the truth is true. Play it if u like it. Play if u have fun. But don´t play it if u want to do “good” dps.
Glacial heart. Increase sving speed on the third step of the mace and hammer chain and increase damage with 5%.

Hm in PvE 5% would be nice. But 5% at glacial heart…20 points in a PvE useless traitline…forget it, it won´t help.
If we want to do PvP, the hammers weakest point it 5 (not useable whil moving) and 1, cause most players will walk out of the symbol.
1. Hammer is control
2. Hammer is not a fast “movement weapon”
3. Hammer “lacks” of “burst” in PvP, sustain is ok but easy avoidable. 5% more will chance nothing.
So we have not much soft CC…GC can do this.
Decrease freezing duration to 1second, but the cooldown too. 10 or 8 seconds for example.
A little bit dmg+frost. Will do this job for PvP, PvE will stay unchanged cause valor is horribel in PvE.
Support+CC is used by pets too, dps is not the ony problem. But the only 1 that could be fixed by “a flat dmg buff if pet is stowed”.
Ranger without a pet is not a 10minutes work. It needs a complete class overhaul. Forget it, nothing then a dream.

Pet´s aren´t broken, they need some (hot)fixes. And possibel in a half year or year a “new AI”. But removing them will fix nothing, but killing the ranger´s class.
Flat AoE redunction for WvsW bigscale and dungeons for example. This will help alot! And the ranger will still be a ranger.
Try to..
Don´t play a ranger without a pet, try to play that your pet can hit. This is possibel not the best class mechanic ever, but until we can get a fix. It´s much better then a “ranger” without a pet.

Most of this ideas won´t help.
Do fix this weapon, an make it more fun and viable we need.
1. Endurance per Hit on AA 3, possibel a whirl finisher too.
2. A few seconds vigor+swiftness on swoop (possibel for allies 2-3secs should be enough).
3. Counterkick useable while moving+evade itself.
And by hell, buff AA DPS to be onpar with the sword. Maul+AA should do the same dps then MH sword.
I can take MH sword at the moment. I will get.
1. much more dps about 15% more (or 20%…)
2. it´s nearly impossibel to kite me
3. i can switch targets awesome fast (with AA and 3)
4. i have 2 evades without a offhand weapon
5. i have 1 finisher
If i will equip an offhand weapon i can get.
1. explosionfinisher + nice dps buffs (WH4 needs more dmg or conditions like torment/bleeding)
2. projectil block/retalation/vul/finisher (this skill should be a ground target)
3. Hard cc (pull) + strong burst
4. nice range dps/soft cc and another evade with poison
So stop talking about the GS as a defensive weapon. The GS is broken in 95% of the game. The only place for it, is in WvsW bigscale. That´s all.
This weapon is not a viable choice and low dps is one the reasons to NOT pick it most times.
For example, Warrior Axe and GS are useable together, or alone. Cause both have diffrent playstyles/skills (and support, axe/warhorn for example). But they have nearly the same dps. That´s mean, u have a choice. They´re axebuilds, GS builds, and GS+Axe builds…and all are viable.
But the ranger GS is not as viable as the warrios axe for example.

MB is ok like it is (possibel a little bit more dmg). A low CD explosion finisher can be used often without having nothing else then “DPS” in mind.
Just a 3 or 4 Buttons DPS rotation ist stupid and boring too.
Banish should deal more dmg if the target will be knocked back to a wall (or ring of warden for example). But not a brainless DPS cd.
Decreasing Hammer AA 3 casttime to 1,1 or 1sec and removing the lightfield. Will make this weapon more fun and stronger. In both PvE and PvP without giving a boring 2-3keys dps rotation to it.
I have GS/Sword/F Rotation, my Warr a GS/Axe/Mace or Axe/Sword-Axe/Mace and so on.
Rotations are boring too. A few skills used depending on the situation, that makes fun.
A small dps push for our Hammer´s would be welcome (AA3 casttime reduction), sure why not. More weaponchoices are always good. And dmg/dps is important even in PvP.

I am totally disagree with removing light combo field for hammer.
Retaliation is extremely strong my young padawan , just attack ranger’s pet forming combo retaliation and see how fast Bow Ranger hp drop. Their HP drop at least by 1/5.IMHO, Water field on Hammer chain would be too OP. Ever wonder why water field time period last the shortest? Only Ranger’s have that privilege a.k.a Healing Spring.
So you want to combo heal while having protection all the time? Fair? Sure not.Hammer Protection Symbol is one of the strongest signature move for guardian, changing it means nerfing it. While the only changes i would love to see is to reduce their chain combo. Merging Write of Persistence and Writ of Exaltation.
1. Never talked about waterfield on AA chain.
2. Never talked about removing the symbol of protecion (only the light field)
3. Reatalation strong vs bow rangers? Oh well, and bow rangers are strong vs what?

4. Uncontrollable combofield´s are epic fail, it doesn´t matter which field even water or fire are fail on a Chain.
So stop dreamwalking guys. Get the facts.
1. Hammer has got 2 Light fields (1 and 5)
2. Hammers has got only 1 finisher (explosion)
3. Guardians have not much finishers, a whirl, a projectile. Spread over a few weapons.
4. That means, in 99.999% of all situations, reatalation will be only benefit from Hammer AA Chain. Yes even condition remove is useable by whirl only. Cause a lot other combofield are bigger, and the first field hit, will trigger the effekt.
Even if only 1 have a lightfield, the only 1 who will get a benefit from this field will be u. And only u. And the Hammer is a defensive/CC weapon. There is no sence to make this symbol a stupid teamplaykilling lightfield.
Especially if we guardians have.
1. We can easy get retalation
2. We have a lot of other light fields
3. We have a lot of condition remove
Why by hell does any1 want this Lightfield on a AA Chain?

To be honest, I dont find dps on sword to be that great anyway. Not sure what the coefficient comparison is like but seemed like my necro melts things way faster with just a dagger.
Dagger is the necros best singeltarget dps weapon. Rangersword needs a Cat too. If u´re cat is attacking and u with a swordranger dps will be higher then necros.
The Problem is the sword AA, GS is horrible in DPS and no good option.
If the sword can´t be fixed (or shouldn´t cause the AA is rly hard to kite) rangers need another Weapon to deal DPS.
At the moment it should be the greatsword.
Warriors Axe and Greatsword or guardian sword/greatsword (hammer a little bit lower but protection so it´s a good option too) are nearly balanced too….

This weapon is losing much in teamplay. Retalation often is not so strong. And guardians can easy get it.
On the other side, Hammer 5 is a light combofield anyway…
If i want to heal an allie, i want a waterfield, if i want dmg, i want a fieryfield, if i want to protect an allie i want aether…
But light? Not rly, and not on an AA Chain!
Hammertrait need a buff true. But Glacial heart shouldn´t be “the dps” trait. Decrease chill duration to 1sec, but cooldown to 10 or 6 seconds. And Increase the dmg done by this trait a little bit.
To increase the weapons dps, Zealot´s Blades would be more interresting. Cause we could get a interessting trait in Zeal 10points+. And 10% dmg with symbol of protection as a grandmaster minor…
I think that would be better then 5% dmg on glacial heart (which wouln´t help in pvp, “burst+chill” is better here).
Ring of warden useable while moving is rly needed to. The hammer is a low movement weapon anyway.

Stowing pet´s will solve nothing.
Forget this stupid idea!
Pet´s do not only dmg, a lot of ranger support and cc is used by pet´s too.
Just stowing them away and have no problem´s anymore, is nothing then a dreambubble.
And a lot of Traits will be useless, u´ll need a complete overhaul through all 5 traitlines and alot of skills. That´s not a fast “fix it in 5minutes” thing.
Are u guys rly so close minded? I don´t want to believe it.

A nice change will be for pvp Greatswords 4 not trigger the secondary effect when hitted by enemy pet-minion-phantasm-illusion etc etc
Or better, make counterkick an evade itself. And usable while moving…
I wonder how I am going to evade all the AOE’s Subject Alpha does on COE with a nerf like this….
By learing when u have to dogde. I never used this trait in PvE, so don´t cry it´s still your fault if u waste dogderolls.
sheesh , WvW is THE MOST COMPETITIVE PART OF THE GAME
Farming Zergtraitet players, PvE skilled exploration guys or running and running to look for an easy kill should be competive?
The chance to meet another fair and wellplayed 1vs1 player in WvsW (and ending the fight without 1 running away or others are disturbing u) is about 1:99999.
If they´ll make another map for GvG, WvsW will be not more compteive then Champfarming. Publiczergs are skillless like most of their commanders. And most good guilds are making their own stuff.
Forget it to balance WvsW, forget it.

You have to take into account the type of DPS you want: sustained or burst… and the area: single target or AoE. In general you can go for burst single target (since it has burst AoE incorporated, not as high as sustained AoE over longer fights but hey, it’s burst…) and AoE sustain (since it does sustain single target as well… small but it still counts).
Best at, what? Best at Condition dmg is best at beeing useless in PvE? Check!
Tell me 1, only one singel Trash fight in dungeons/fractals, were mobs are alive long enough to get the Hybrid/Condidmg a chance (only a chance) to deal more dps then 30/25/0/0/15?
Stack in a corner/pull and well+DS1(4/5) is enough. And this is by far more dps then a condimancer can deal, even AoE.
And for Bosses is suxx anyway. I tried your “Hybrid” (and my own version which get´s killed at 10. dec) and it was bad.
CoE subject Alpha (the 3rd), after i stacked the Bleeds up he was at 40%, and the group was Pug…25seconds fight.
With 25stacks, and food and potion 38 sec to kill a risen giant ist no “good dps” it´s mediocore not more, 25secs are possibel with a powerbased build selfbuffed. And it scales much better in gruops.
Sry, u do a lot of work. But to say Hybrid or Conditionmancer is a good or alternative option in pve is a lie (exept little few bosses with high toughness or shields). If some1 wants to play hybrid/zepter just for fun. Then your hybrid is the best way to do this.
But it can´t be onpar with the Zerkbuild.

Oh yes, if u´re using Shield of the Avenger at Lupicus, u can onehit him by reflecting his kick! U´re rly save with this skill.
And if u´re using shield and wall of reflection together, WoR will reflect doubledmg if the projectiles are absorbed by the shield before they can hit the wall.
No it doesn´t, it´s only a 12% dps increase if u are AA spamming only (no MB no dogde, no second weaponset).
But u´re are losing 100 precision 10% dmg for all weapons (radiance 25) and 5% or more cause of losing virtues 25.
And i u want Master of Conserations u will lose unscathed contender.
If u don´t want this, u can pick absolute resolution to get a little bit extra healing per second and condition remove.
15/15/0/20/20 with a hammer in soldier gear. Move to zerker gear as you get better, trinkets first.
15/25/0/5/25 should be better. Longer symbols are only 1 sec protection more, but 10% personal DPS loss and not rly more Support.
With a Hammer u have protection, retalation usually up. Might Might, fury, vigor and regenaretion u have 7 Boons active. So 7% more dmg from strengh of virtues.
This and a few pieces of knights amor should make a guardian an PvE fortress.
Buy knights chest, leggings and helmet first, cause here is others stats/critdmg ratio bad.

Zephyr or Sick’em can be changed if something else is needed (lightning reflexes or another spirit (protection) for example).
