Longbow sucks in PvE, GS is only useful if u can´t use the 1handed sword.

Nature magic Traits are usually not fix. U can or should switch them sometimes, depending on the current situation/weaponchoice/boss/pet.
20/25/0/25/0 is the better build, more dps and more support. 30 in MM are pretty useless, u´ll get opening only back if adds will die, usally trash is dying at the same time.
So no support benefit here. And 20/25/0/25/0 is doing more dps vs bosses.

Even with piercing arrows, staff eles are much much better. They can deal awesome dmg double/tripledmg of LB rangers and everything is aoe! And they have more support/cc if it´s needed.

Probably u´re right, but the extra (small CD) evade is strong and good/easy to use (Lupicus P1 for example or vs Shattermesmers). More dmg or another additional effect would be welcome.

Crippling Talon…i use it in PvE as a small dmg boost, mobs can´t evade it so i never noticed the slow missile speed.
They should fix the big issues like LB 1/2 or GS or mainhand axe before i think.

Drakes are good in fractals. Spiders are sometimes the second choice (be careful with poisonfields if your party is stacking might or using waterfield heal pick up a Devourer instead). Cats are the best in most other dungeons or some easier (less AoE) fractals.

But thats the only use for it (or stacking vulnerability). Rapid fire dps is < LB 1 at 900 range….

LB 1 should be chargeable shot.
Hold the button to charge the shot up(probably a bit reduced movement speed while charging). Fullcharge good dps (10-20% more then now) at 0-1500 range…

LB 2 needs a buff/rework, shorter channeltime but same dmg, or a big dmg buff (probably to strong).

3 is nice, 4 is ok too
5 should do more dmg/waves and if u are far away and useable while moving and/or cd reduction.

What does the healing signet (or all healskills) have todo with dungeon viability?

What rangers need is the possibility to dogde while using sword AA. And a second viable weapon, 20%+ more dps for our GS and/or are new future weapon.

Petfixes, AI a bit aoe reduction in dungeons/fractals things like this. Dps/support is ok.

but it is the reality, and in pve a warrior with GS and Axe can outdps 2 rangers if played well.

This is just…OMG u should stop posting. U are wrong with everything u say.
U have no clue about dps or dungeon/meta/speedruns.

Warrior is NOT the best dps class ingame. Warriors are good for banners/vulnerability and average dps that´s all.
Rangers are in the same niche, with frostspirit/spotter/fury/might (WH finisher/stalker) and a bit vulnerability (cat AA) and average dps too.

Tell you want Urdriel, pick up my Beast Cannon build, its a PvE burst build, see how much damage you can do within 8 seconds at full speed sword + pet AA, and compare to a warrior with it’s best DPS setup. I think you may be in for a shock.

If we compare builds to a warrior that is aiming to do maximum damage with GS, you see that the warrior will have more power and the skills seems to have higher damage. This is until you look at pets, which with this setup will do a bare minimum of 600 damage on their AA. That means 580/580/675 + 600. This puts you above warrior AA.
Now you will argue that 100b is a great skill with insane coefficient, however if you look at how tooltips work it says;
100b
Total damage from 8 strikes: Damage(8x) = 6392
Final Strike Damage = 1599
Total skill damage = 7991 over 3.5 seconds
That is really good, and not easy to match. Add in crits and you could well be looking at something between 24-30k damage total. Not bad at all.
Yet, those number can be produced by Maul. And yet you don’t have to be rooted to use it. You can literally buff up, charge the enemy, smash its face and use LR to get to safety before you get smacked.

Now, the only profession that can beat 30k damage in 3.5 seconds is thief. However the skill itself has a 8 second cooldown (6.5 if traited).

So if we look at DPS over 8 seconds (which is only natural since thats how long you gotta wait to reuse it) then the whole thing changes a little. 30k over 8 seconds is not a big deal. Thats merely 3750 damage/second. Easy to get.

Now, the way my beastcannon build works, is that instead of making the ranger do full zerker damage and the pet only moping around, the pet too is zerker.
For reference; Queens Pavillion, all bosses up till liadri – dead within 7-12 seconds.

1. 5% Critchance sigile is bad, fire/air is better or 10% night/x slaying
2. Warrior highest dps ist NOT NOT NOT GS, not only.
Its a Axe/Mace+GS Rotation (if u are not at 25stacks of might):
Axe2
Maxe2
100B
GS5 (if it´s a target where the charge is working)
WA if u are in a corner
Axe2
Axe AA
Mace 4
Axe2
AxeAA again
Then 100B the next time.

Yes u are ~ 10sec Axe 5sec GS then again 8 sec Axe (2 AA Chains, interrupting Axe AA is a horribel dps loss).
GS AA is usually never used. Only noob warriors are playing like this.

Maximum Warriordps fullbuffed (25 Might all the time) is 30/25/0/10/5 pure Axe/Mace no GS.
The 30/10/0/0/30 or 30/0/0/10/30 builds are ALWAYS weaker then 30/25/0/0/15 (rotation) or 30/25/0/10/5 (no rotation).

And again. Warrior dps is only 4(or5) out of 8 classes.
Ele deals 50% more then warriors (without FGS!)
Guadians and thieves ~ 15-25% more
Necro ~ a few percent (but always a partywide dps loss if u pick up a necromancer)
ranger unclear, i would say a bit behind most times (but still ok we have good partybuffs and utility)
Warrior (highest dps selfbuffed)
Engineer (aweful to play 3kit + rifle rotation….)
Mesmer dps is…. if u don´t need the reflectionbubble a mesmer is not worth picking up.

My favourite dungeon party is.
1 guard
1 warrior (banner/vulnerability minion)
2 ele (or 3^^)
ranger or thief

2 is discussable. 3 is good. 1 is…terrible, just terrible.

They should definitly change it. I would like to see something like this.

1. Throw your axe at your foe and apply multiple stacks of bleed over time. (1 or 2)
2. Rip your axe from your foe for extra damage
3. Strike your foe(s!) and apply 1 stack of torment

Similar to warrior sword 4. With this the weapon could be usefull in diffrent kinds of builds.
Condition based range/lose range, hybrid and direct dmg too.

Axe offhand:

4 is nice.
5 too but. It would be awesome as a ground targeting spell. Chose your targetarea and the ranger rolls to the selected position to protect allies.

Greatsword:
1 needs more dps, remove the evade (add endurance per hit and a whirl finisher) or not. But it should do nearly equal dps to our mainhand sword.

4 Let the players chose when they want to use the counterkick or make counterkick an evade itself.

The three best ways of being useless in lvl 40+ fotm.

1. stay at range
2. play tanky
3. do no dps/support while staying ranged

Axe mainhand is just horribel in PvE, probably the worst weapon ingame. LB….only if u have to stay at 900+ range anyway. If your party is just doing melee/close ranged combat (Fireshaman for example) the shortbow is better.

I can´t believe it. Some people still think that warrior dps is high xD.

100B…. do u know that Axe AA > 100B? GS is only “viable” for the evade and mightstacking via traits. If u´re fullbuffed (25 might) 30/25/0/10/5 pure Axe/Mace is max dps for warriors.

1 Warrior for banners, not more are needed in a organized group.

Back to our class.

Rangers are ok in PvE, sword + Cat does ~ warrior dps (if the cat is alive and attacking, both with same buffs).
And we have some unique buffs. Our problems are the sword (not useable vs all bosses because u have to stay at max melee range in some fights). And the dying pet. This means usually warrior dps is a bit higher then rangers.
OK, but we have our Buffs.

Range DPS is never better then or equal to meleedps in GW2.
Ele Staff can do 16,8k dps under perfect circumstances. Lighning hammer 16,2k if my numbers are correct. But in 99,9% of all situations the LH will do more dps (and support).

All other classes have no “decent dmg” ranged weapon. Grenades are ok, but melee engineer is better.

But Scepter?….no need scepters are always boring and don´t fit the druids style.

They can use both bows. The ranger is not a archer only, they are some kind of druids too.
So stop about argumenting that the ranger should be the best “ranged” class. Ele Staff is ranged too.
LB needs a buff and/or change to it´s skills, but only to be on par with other ranged weapons.
Sword/GS will and should always do superior dmg. In GW2 melee is always better, because there is no tank. Not fix point where mobs will stay. No range or meleecombat zones.

In PvE? NO!
Ele Staff can do more then 12k dps (yes DPS not burst, not a single skill). 6k AA + 6k Lavafont are easy to get. Fullbuffed much more.
Not including Icebow/Staff Fire 5.

Engineers can do more range dps just by using rifle 1. Grenades or SD + Toolbelt will do much more dps then a ranger can do.

Arragorn/Legolas were a rangers too. Warriors have a rifle and a bow they should be “masters of all weapons” which is including range weapons too.

No ranged weapon is doing melee dps in this game (not even Elementalists staff).
Rangers in GW2 are the guardians of forest and nature, they use pets and nature magic aswell. The are not a classic “bow only” pew pew class like archers/hunters in most other games.

If u want to play usefull range dps u should play another game. Sad (and i don´t like it at all) but true.

sword/x or GS (25-30% less dps then sword) both are better. More support, more dps. Even if vul is < 15 stacks, sword/x will (or GS Maul=Vul) do more party dps then LB.

This are just flat numbers. If u think about losing melee dps becauce mobs walk out of symbold/well/100B and so on.
And no/less buff sharing.
LB is even worse.
Don´t forget that bosses have 50% less Vul uptime.

LB is useless, Engineers do much more dps just with their rifle AA (not to mention toolbeltskills and SD). Range is not an advantage in GW2.

U get less buffs>less dps/support
Others will get less buffs/support from u
And your team has no benefit if u stand behind and do a some crappy dps.

LB2 is a joke, but a rly bad one. Less dps then AA. Boring 5 seconds channel to make your enemys giggle.

I never saw a good or usefull LB ranger in PvE/WvsW/tPvP. Not even one. Killing noobs is not a indication to say that a weapon is useful or balanced.

Your pet have to be in combat to trigger this trait. Let it attack and use “Mighty roar” for example and the mightstacks will have ~ 24sec duration.

Look for people who think like u and have fun. But don´t join groups with min/maxed builds, because they would only carry u. (depending on your current build, probably it is not so bad)

So do ranger axes, but that doesn’t stop them from aoe damage.

And being nearly useless. Ranger mainhand axe is one of the worst weapons ingame.

Ok, Necromancers axe AA is bad too…
Necromancers realy need any possibility to do cleavedmg, or direct dmg aoe with low cooldown.
Dagger/Axe, a new weapon i don´t care but it is needed. Epidemic AoE is not soo high. And it´s conditionbased. Powermancers AoE is bad.

Warrior for direct damage. Ranger for condition damage.

Warriors have nice conditiondmg builds for PvP and WvsW too. In PvE both classes are bad with conditions.
And rangers can be a good choice for most gruops. Even normal speedruns can choose them without doing less dmg. If u play your ranger good enough.

The Brownbear is usefull for skipping in Arah to remove conditions if u fail and get hit. Or to let him tank “Deadeyes” or these guys with the wardenrings if u don´t have stability rdy or if u´re lazy.
But that´s the only situations i use it for.

Yes but not celestial, it´s only usefull if u need/want thoughness/vita.
On the other side, u can stack power/conditiondmg instead of precision to get 90% + critchance groupbuffed.

Well but i agree rampager should be changed to Power/prec/condi oder Condi/power/prec.

Spoj, Dalanor, I play on NSP and have gone more than 15 losses without a single victory. What seems like face-roll on one server is proving impossible on another. The only wins so far were last Saturday, if I heard correctly. No rumors of a single win against the wurm. This is just like Tequatl. Some servers get it and others do not. Individual skills mean nothing in a statistically large sample.

The Marionette is failing because singelpeople (or small gruops) are failing vs the champs.
U can´t compare it to Tequatl/Wurm.

Btw, i got all my victories on overflows. My homeserver is always full and i don´t want to wait a hour or more.

Yeah, it’s way to strong.
Compare it to a balanced skill like Banner of Discipline.

That one only gives a meager 8% increase in crit chance plus 15% crit damage to zerker resulting in an >20% increase in damage.

Your calculation is wrong. It´s not more then a 15% dmg increase. Probably less.

No u can´t. If defensive gear is needed, a warrior/necro can do it with zerkers gear while ele/guard/thief can´t, this will ruin everything much more.

At the moment it´s ok, u can facetank everything or avoid it. If u don´t mix the playstyle both are working well.

Pure Conditionspeccs have always 1 or 2 defensive stats. If they would do more/the same dmg. It wouldn´t be balanced.

Rampager should be the only second dps gear.

And u can´t balance thoughness/vita in a trinity less game. If it get´s usefull it is needed. And at this point the whole class balance thing will be destroyed.

Condispeccs are losing the same DPS if they dogde or don´t attack like Zerkerbuilds. The bleeds u can see, are already done dmg if u play Zerk.

DoT´s speccs have only more movementdps if u can add the dot´s with a few skills. Like a old WoW Warlock for example. 80% of your dps was applied in 3 Seconds and u could dance 15 seconds before the DoT´s expired.

In GW2 u have to attack all the time to keep your bleeds/dps up.
But like Spoj said, in the end even if pure conditoonbuilds are still not as strong, they´re better then PVT/Cleric´s speccs.

With no offense, guys, this just proves how much a nerf is really needed for zerkers. A boss that should last several minutes shouldn’t die that fast. By killing it that fast, a group can ignore most of the mechanics of the fight and have a faceroll while the other “play how you want” people would have to deal with a lot more problems. That’s not now a problem of choice, it’s a problem of game balance.

Nevertheless, 7 seconds was an impressive time for this.

That´s why Arah is the new speedrundungeon for PuGgroups. Zerkergear is so OP that u need no skill to faceroll all bosses!

Well rly, stop this kind of argument please. I told to Notrigger that this will happen. Most people are so close minded……

Probably this kind of builds are the reason why nobody wants necromancers at scale 49/50…..

Minions can “tank” because most Boss AoEs have a five target limit too. OK, but if the gruop is not stacking, they will not do it. A Melee warrior/guard will have a hard job, even with all minions.

They won´t help a the Archdiviner/grawl shaman melee for example. I can´t see the point spending soo much traitpoints for minions.
Better traited Transfusion and this “DS Healtrait”. These are helpful things. Minions not, not more then untraited ones.

Range, DS/Axe/Scepter and so on. No need for a traited staff.

The most important thing ist. If CC/Healsupport is “viable/useful” it is needed.

At this point, the content is not soloable anymore (or not as a glasscanon), and can´t be finished with every builds/class combination.
The class will/should not matter, but the builds.

5 Berserkerthiefs can´t do it, but 5 Shouthealwarriors can, just for example.

If we will get this kind of content, the forums will be full of crying people.
The reason why people are crying about the dps meta, is because they never thought about their builds/the content and teamplay.
They don´t want to change their builds, never.
Sad but true.

Well ok, but why minions in fractals. And why 20 traitpoints too buff them?
With 20 Bloodmagic u get a bit more dmg, and u can heal yourself a little bit.
Seems much better then wasting 20 points to buff 1 kind of bad utility skills. All other traits in Death Magic are weak.

With bloodmagic u can switch traits too support your allies a little bit. And u can use all other utilitys. With 20 points in DM not.

Conditions don´t deal much dps. Do some math, 5 or 6k conditodps is not strong. And u´ll never have this. Because of the condtiocap. U have to subtract normal burning dps (a guardian/ele will add enough burning) and 5-10 stacks of bleeding (other classes add bleedings with crits or some skills).

“Good” DPS is 8.000 and more.

I go 30 Spite for Dumbfire, 30 curses for fear damage and scepter condition duration and 10 death magic for staff cooldowns.

I just blow them all with my sweet conditions <3

Conditonbuilds are not rls stronk in Dungeons/Fractals. Rampager Hybrid OK, but all other builds have bad dps and no other useful suppport.
