I used to main a mesmer for very long time, but I just grew tired of it. And different builds didn’t have enough diversity to keep me intrested. Dunno was it the profession itself, or the fact that I knew my build and skills very well, but most fights felt really easy. I sometimes didn’t even bother attacking some lone guys in WvW.

So I started experimenting different builds on my condi engie, and I’ve had a blast in GW ever since. As a (mostly) solo roamer I especially like the new rocket boots. I used em a lot before the buff, but now I can’t even imagine taking them off my action bar.

The burning duration trait might be a bit overkill with Rocket Kick, Blowtorch, Incendiary Ammo and Incendiary Powder. That’s a lot of burning with pretty short cooldowns. You could put the extra 10 points into alchemy and grab Backpack regenerator for a bit more survivability.
For extra mobility use Sigil of Energy, as it gives you one extra dodge when you swap kits with 10s cooldown.

I suggest you try out both Med Kit and healing turret and find which one you like more. I love healing turret myself, since you get condi cleanse with it, and you can blast the water field from the toolbelt skill with Rocket Boots for extra healing.

Yeah, the uptime on vigor via speedy kits depends a lot on your build.
You can also take the “50% chance to gain swiftness on crit” from firearms, like I do with pistol builds, as I’m only using toolkit for that build.

Granade explosion radius changed to 180. That’s all I wish.

What weapons are you using? I pretty much always use staff as my off-weapon. Putrid Mark is just amazing to get rid of condis.

I’d throw in some vitality on your gear to get some buffer, but that’s just me.

Mesmers are still very good, you just have to adjust to the meta.

Everyone thinks class/profession X is too strong.
People who play X think everyone else is a noob and needs to l2p.

Dzag used to be really fun to fight against, but what I got from today’s roaming it looks like they’re just like every other german server.

I hope I just had bad luck with fights.

Allow pets to do their attack animations while moving.

It has only 15 sec base cooldown, so I think you can use it every 15 secs to gain the effects.
I don’t use it myself, but I’d imagine it being good for dungeons and zerg vs zerg fights in WvW.

I think GS is great. It’s probably my most used weapon in WvW.
I’d go as far as saying it’s maybe our most “complete” weapon at the moment.

IMO only Maul needs some tweaking. 3 stacks of vulnerability? Really?
Swap the vulnerability to few stacks of might, fury to pet, or some bleeds like it used to be.
2 seconds of stability would fit Maul well, because it’s so bear-like. But that would be pretty OP.

I feel a bit sorry. I didn’t thought that we can have that much more players on the maps than you. Normally we loose nearly all of our Towers and Castles at night. I don’t know where all those player were the weeks before.

A few weeks ago we lost some of our best WvW-Guilds and we lost a lot of points even if we closely won a matchup. After the 4 Matchups (two times riverside und two times piken) our wvw-players mostly played PvE and only a few were left. So i think i can understand how you feel. But don’t give up, it will come a time when you get back to your old strength.

Pretty much all of our WvW guilds are leaving, or have left already. So I really doubt RoS will ever be as strong as it was few months ago.

DEX, FRS, VcY and RiOT were the main force that allowed us to punch above our class.

The WvW on RoS is starting to look really bad. Shame, I really loved the WvW community

Guess I’ll have to start looking for new home.

edit: And no more epic GH vs. RoS matches… bwaaaaaaaaaaaa….

Any other explanation can be that you had max stack of vulnerability, but I don’t think that’s the case. Are you sure you were above 50%?

I started the “fight” at 100%, and that one C&D won’t bring me under 50% health. What you see in the combat log is the start of the fight.

Dunno if it’s a bug or some other weird stuff, but in any situation over 7k heartseekers are way too high. Gap closer, easy to land and leap finisher for mere 3 init. But that’s just my humble opinion.

You had 3 stacks of weakness from Cloak and Dagger, and burning from judges intervention. Both are conditions which means that he could deal 10% more damage from one trait. He also had over 6 initiative which gives him more damage.

If you had been below 25% hp he would have hit for far more than 7,5k. Creds to you for dodging his backstab, because that would probably have been devastating for you

You act like that’s normal. Before my small break I would’ve never been hit for that much with heartseeker, so something must be off. 7k+ for minimum damage on HS is too high, way too high.

I leveled thief to around 60 in WvW and deleted it. It’s just stupidly overpowered profession for WvW.
Insane survivability with sick damage, I don’t see how that’s balanced at all.

Against a good thief you have to play pretty much flawlessly to survive, and thieves can just screw up and get away with it. It’s actually kinda amusing.

Of course no one is grabbing your players by force, everyone chooses to transfer by their own. But those who want more from WvW shouldn’t have to stick to FoW/Vabbi and wait for miracle just for the sake of those who can’t afford a transfer. If you like playing on your current server, that’s good for you.

The best thing Anet could do atm, is not only to introduce free transfers to Vabbi and FoW, but to give some kinda reward to those who do transfer.

Anyways. Haven’t really played for past couple weeks, but logged in for a while today and yesterday. Good small scale fights at FoW BL.

I think it’s safe to say the match is over. I expected a bit more from this match, but I guess the GH-RoS-Dz times are over. But still lots of fun.

Good job RoS. Looks like our morale can’t be broken.
I didn’t play friday/saturday, but what it looked like we were getting beaten up pretty badly.
I logged in at sunday evening to help getting our stuff back. Instead of whining and worn out bunch, I found well motivated peeps at our BL, all willing to do the dirty job of upgrading and escorting dollies.
Same thing last night when we lost all our stuff. Instead of logging off, we laughed at the situation and just started somewhere our way back up.
Good job Verx and Stikko The Two Faced Maniac on commanding last night.

We had 7 people together en route to a camp and caught him trying to kill a lowbie, so naturally we stopped him. When one of our guys tried to tell him it’s WvW he said “World v one more like losers” or something similar…

I definitely don’t want RoS and GH to friends. The rivalry between us is something I don’t recall having with any other server. Like Finland and Sweden in hockey.(To us finns it doesn’t really matter who wins, as long as we can beat Sweden)
However, there should be mutual respect between the servers. I don’t mind comments and “spiking” like “LOL thanks for all the lootbags at Bay, I almost had to take that fight seriously”

But, even though I shouldn’t, I do mind when the few heroes from GH start blaming us about their weak performance as excuses. There’s bad behavior from RoS too at times, but obviously I don’t really care about it that much, since it’s not pointed at me/us.

2nd place is still open, and I expect some fighting over it!

Good fights at GH Hills and Garri. The hills attack was actually closer than you might think. I got killed by your group at the mill, and started to keep an eye if you’re coming to Hills. After you stormed through outer gate, I thought it’s lost for sure, since we had only few defenders at that point. Luckily we got some reinforcements in time.

Or maybe they were just average fights and felt like good ones after MS BL…

Awww it does sound like some people at GH are focusing on the “whining” aspect of this matchup rather than the actual fun of defeating any of the other two servers.

About invading MS BL; I tried flipping some camps, encountered 5 players with superior siege in each one.
They’re insanely well defended and it would be foolish to waste resources into attacking them with all the enemies wreaking havoc in our border.

I’ve been roaming at MS bl for last few days whenever I’ve played, flippin’ camps and ganking dollies. The camps can be capped if they aren’t fully upgraded and you’re quick about it. But TBH MS bl is pretty boring most of the times.

BTW, I’ve seen 2 GH players in MS bl in past 2 days. So it’s not like GH is actively going after them either. I think the reason why most people choose GH bl over MS, is because GH gives good fights.

It may be true that we cap more empty camps and towers than other servers, but you can’t really blame us if you can’t provide defense for your towers and camps. We have lots of very small pug groups that roam around fast, capping camps and towers, or defending them.
It’s really rare that we outman our opponents on other maps than our BL. I often find us outmanned 3/4 of the maps. So, it’s not that we have a huge number advantage outside primetime.

I wish Anet kept track of each server’s numbers in WvW. Would be intresting to see the data.

Right now were under a really heavy focus of both gunnars and millers and i dont think we will be able to achieve a victory simply because we cant always pull out all recources we have, rl goes first.
From our point of view its definetly not an even matchup – we had one last week, but maybe its just that i have a strange definition for equality of all teams actually having close scores to each other which is not the case right now.

IMO RoS isn’t really that strong at primetime/weekends. It’s the smaller scale stuff where we usually shine.

What I got from few hours of playing, it looks like Miller’s Sound isn’t lacking manpower. Let’s see how things go after weekend

“Scavengers” to each borderland that gather loot from fallen enemies. Then people can claim loot from them according to how many kills they’ve got.
I don’t mean there’s NPCs running around the BL gathering loot. Loot just magically goes to them, and you can grab it once in a while.

I don’t know how you’re gonna recreate the community when a good chunk of your population can’t/don’t want to communicate with english speaking players. If you can speak english, why don’t you use it all the time in WvW so english speaking players wouldn’t feel like outsiders?

What’s the track that starts at around 1min on the “mesmer basic gameplay” video?

GH-Dz-RoS was really fun matchup. But I’ve noticed that atleast my motivation in WvW has increased now that we have tougher servers against us.
FR is just numbers, and they’re mostly terrible. But UW is pretty tough.

I started GW2 in Ruins of Surmia, then moved to Blacktide when transfers were free to have more people to do PvE with.
However when I got my char to 80 and started playing only WvW, I realized that Blacktide is not the server to play in. They didn’t really have an active WvW community, and the communication was severely crippled because of the polish community. And there was only 2 good commanders (Blacktider, and a charr engi whose name I cant remember).
So I moved back to RoS and have had a blast in WvW ever since.

Seriously. Leave Blacktide if you wanna focus on WvW. They will never be a competitive WvW server unless they get WvW guilds from other servers.
