LOL amazing how people say 200+ is unplayable. Its not.
ANTICIPATING an attack is always better than reacting to one if done right.
Sure, you end up guessing a bit, but its not unplayable.
I am in South Africa with 230ish average and can be competitive in both WvW roaming and PvP.
Although I am sure I would improve considerably with lower ping, its still playable and enjoyable.
In most cases packet loss is the cause of unplayable lag more than ping. They are not related.
Repair the client, it will fix it. Follow below link :

funny how before the change slick shoes was a joke.
suddenly now its a huge threat to melee it needs a nerf ???
its a CC its designed to be a high threat attack that catchs you offgaurd. (pun intended) the old pvp meta with old stab needs to be reworked into a new meta for the new stab.
in time once ppl learn new meta you will have found ways to counter this.
engineer and our skills are not the issue here.
the issue here is the playerbase and lack of forward thinking on how to counter things that are not actually a huge threat to you in a pvp situation.
this stab nerf was a very much needed change. no more immunity to a large amount of skills in the game. and now engies can rip stab of targets
The thing is its NOT counter-able ON POINT, which is the problem. You have no way to counter it at all.
It’s nice that you made changes to the algorithm and other issues with the leaderboard. However, the rewards are still lacking. Llamas just need to stop, making slightly changes to them doesn’t make it more captivating. Then you have the Glorious Hero’s Armor, which pretty much looks exactly like the reward track armor. Personally, there’s zero incentive for me to even bother with it. Regardless, I’m not participating, since I’m taking a bit of a break from GW2.
Hopefully one day, we actually get pvp rewards that are meaningful!
DON’T YOU DARE SLANDER THE LLAMA!
I had a good one the other day – Killed Tequatl; yeaah rawwwgh! big dragon killed. Sure you get 1 gold plus you know there will be blues and greens, but you hope for something more.
2Gold for a kill once a day.
RNG is just that: random. And there is no perceiveable difference between true random and pseudo random generation.
Or the illusion of random, but that still amounts to random for an individual player.
RnG is RnG.
There is no game, there is no pattern. Every single time to take a CHANCE, that chance is calculated separately from any other roll.
However ANET does tweak drop-rates often. The mystic forge difference you noticed is such a small sample size however that we can call that RNG.
LOL no dude, this bug was introduced with the mondays patch, now its fixed, during the last week condi’s were nerfed due to a bug. geez
I like the Llama, it is absolutely fabulous.
The glorious armor is simple to get anyway… It should be exclusive, otherwise, whats the point?
But TO THE GRIND LADDER!
I got to 600ish in the previous ladder before giving up, some people have more grind time than me.
Also : Hat + Eye wear confirmed?
Never just leave your healing turrets standing, the burst heal, pick/destroy is a lot better.
Agreed I meant to do that only for the benefit of party members, however I feel like I need to use metal plating trait for -30% dmg to turrets now.
There is a lot more wrong with the build, but the turret already is an AoE heal.
Before healing power you get around 5000 heal for just dropping it and activating the overcharged cleansing burst, if you blast the water field its another 1000.
If you just leave it lying then all you get is a 2500 heal every 15secs.
So your choices are.
1. Drop turret (heal for 2500) > Overcharge (2500 > Pickup turret (to reduce cooldown to 14seconds). This heals for 5000 HP every 14 seconds.
2. Drop turret (heal for 2500) > Overcharge (2500 > Blow up the turret to blast the water field (1000HP) but this increasing cooldown to 20seconds. This heals for 6000HP every 20 seconds.
3. Your option. Leaving the turret down haves you lose out on the initial 2500 heal and then you STILL have a 15second(longer than the initial turret CD if picked up) CD on the overcharge AND the the 1000HP blast heal.
Also keep in mind, regen is useless
Do you see why leaving the turret out is pointless?
Never just leave your healing turrets standing, the burst heal, pick/destroy is a lot better.
My ping and FPS seems fine. The shouts I believe are coming from other people on the map
Nope. There was a whole bunch of people in LA yesterday all shouting ‘Yarr’ in a male human voice for about 10 minutes.
My traceroute to the US server where I play says 134-144. In game it is 170+.
You are neglecting to consider than a traceroute pings A LOT less data than the game would actually be exchanging…
Also APRIL FOOLS EVERYBODY! I find it funny…
If you think Slick shoes has any similar equivalent at the moment, you have NEVER used it. Or you just choose to be blind.
Soooo, no one mind if I bump this again? Need some humour.
Yeah the “chance” items in the Gem Store should be avoided, its a very shady business practice.
Snaff ability 1st slot:
Suicidal Charge
Charge forward 400ft with bravery. Upon reaching destination (or any enemy target), explode for 86dmg. Inflicts 110% HP self damage. Also causes nearest human male ally to run in fear (effect only breaks in presence of Queen Jenna).

Never go that deep into firearm. 2 point at best.
Alchemy and elixers but you are not using HGH trait?
Its 2 stacks of might PER elixer used. That is A LOT of extra damage.
MA does not apply to condition damage, only power based damage.
Pistols do not scale with power damage very well.
You have Incendiary powder on a power based build?
For farming, nothing better than a Flamethrower build.
For WvW, this won’t work at all.
EDIT : Exploit Weakness sucks compared to most other traits.
(edited by Novuake.2691)
If you are struggling to stay alive and do not have invigorating speed, then you are doing something wrong.
Yeah, it DEFINITELY needs a nerf now. LOL
No chance.
/15 charrs shooting at humans
Hehe best part about this, is most people get the irony that his post was deleted without reason and complains about it, but he expects the same for 2 NPCs.
Comedy GOLD! As Ozan said.
Easily 500+ Gold through conventional farming without any precursor or other major (no more than 30G)drop. This isn’t the norm though, was home for almost a month because of bike accident.
When I do get lucky drops they tend to be Ascended stuffs. Often unusable stats. LOL
well played but i didnt see anything about that build it self. id say you could do the same with empty bombs utility slot and no might from turret.
id like to see what happens to you when you meet mesmer, ranger, power necro in 1vs1 on point situation.
I can tell you now.
Mesmer : She/he be deadeadead.
Ranger : She/he be deadeadead.
Necro : You be deaddeaddead.
At least thats how it should go assuming near equal skill level or even slight bias either way.
I could elaborate why?
Yeah, very frustrating to not be able to use illusions/phants. Since I was maining mesmer at that stage.
I even ragequit on Liandri because of it.
Previous Story dungeons would have introduced you to group play long before Arah.
While there are a multitude of issues with the personal story, your complaints are not valid IMO, it looks like you completely rushed through the story to be honest.
All will be answered. metabattle.com/
Nothing has really changed on leveling.
Condi’s as a main source of damage just don’t work in PvE. Mobs have too much HP and condi stack limits breaks it completely.
Dire(would be very OP on certain classes) and Nomad(would create the most boring games) YOU DO NOT WANT in sPvP.
A warrior that shouts at everyone, then takes a bow at the end of the game.
This made my day!
ShoutBow is an abbreviation for a build that focused around using shouts and a bow as main weapon.
The build is centered around sustain and team support with average DPS. and decent mobility.
If you are new to PvP you should rather run something else. Like HamBow. You can check Metabattle.com for info.
If you want to do the whole on point thing with an Engi, Trikit/Dualkit condi can do it to near infinity while applying decent counter condi pressure.
I find it A LOT more reliable in the current meta as well as a bit easier to get used to.
Cele Engi needs to make good use of certain Cooldowns to be able to do well. Totally a BETTER build in many ways but for on point, dual/trikit condi just excells.
@Novuake: Those changes happened in two points, and not subtle at all. The first was during Aftermath (which added primarily scavengers and some Lionguard), and the second was during Festival of the Four Winds (which added the skritt in the cave, returned the pirates, added the three crafting station hubs, returned the gates to LA, and mostly emptied the refugee camps outside of LA). Aside from those two points, there were 0 changes, aside from the new dialogue scene with Evon, o-Tron, Kiel, and Magnus in Fort Marriner which was added with Episode 8.
@Quickninja: As a charr player who fell into those wholes many times… I really wish they fixed those bridges asap… At least when they did the second set of fixes with Festival of the Four Winds (when they removed scavengers and added in the crafting stations again).
There was definitely a third minor one, I remember the Festival update and there wasn’t any wildlife in that one, nor were there any larger tropical plants, mostly just grass. Sorry for the bump.
And Kodans might just be norn who lost the ability to shapeshift back, Maybe norn did travel from the seas before settling into the mountains. Notice a lot of shapeshifting races seem to involve the sea. Random theories of course, but fun to ponder.
actually the kodan believe it’s otherwise, that the norn are kodan that were cast out and can’t permanently retain their “superior bear form”.
Interesting! Source?
If that is in game dialog that is pretty kitten cool.
That suit is gonna be necessary. But you ASKED for it. Troll bait :P
That being said. Seems cool. Maybe turrets will be more useful then.
Turrets being useless is overall better for the game than them being viable.
I am sure you know this from your extensive experience from balancing, playing and managing a PvP game mode.
1. Its only stated that the Human Gods brought humans to TYRIA.
2. Its also only mentioned that the Gods settled on Orr because of the magic associated with it, they were as far as we know NOT aware of Zhaitan.
You are making a lot of assumptions.
If you watched 1st points of interrest from HoT series you would already know that hobosacks are removed from game and engineer weapons will be able to be hed on your back like GS. Simply look at the charr when they talk about events with flamethrower and vines.
Yeah, no… That says nothing mate, sorry. BUt well spotted.
Guild halls were something along with GvG that anyone should have expected DAY ONE with a sequel to GUILD wars.
Sadly the name GUILD WARS is given by the GUILD WARS between the major guilds of Ascalon Kryta and Orr and has nothing to do with player-guild-based PvP
learn the Lore :p
Obviously you never played GW1 otherwise you’d know better. GvG was massive hit with the playerbase and community. The way the games played out, the tournaments, the leaderboards, even how you could watch other teams play was masterfully done and underscored the game’s title. GvG should have been included at launch and was sorely missed.
yeah we all know about GvG in GW1 because all those GW1 players complain about it all the time… but the game is still named according to lore, not according to a PvP game mode…
So much this…
LORE LORE LORE gave this franchise its name. The Guild Wars for the Bloodshards is what set this whole story in action.
Can I blind them, chill them, poison them, bait them? Can’t do anything except direct damage to them. There is very little counterplay except to outrange them – which is impossible when taking a node as in my above example.
All the engi does is run around, avoiding damage, LOSing, and healing. Not to mention that the turrets have some of the strongest effects among the AI in GW2. For example it is fairly easy to avoid a ranger’s pet just by moving and the only necro pet with a really powerful ability is the ultimate. All the engi turrets have strong activated abilities and the passives are none too shabby and unerringly hit since they are ranged.
Every other AI/pet has a counter play. The way turrets are at the moment is verging on ridiculous.
You can LoS them, ignore, Cleave, Knock/Pull engi out.
Or HEAVEN forbid use Stability to get in, burst/knock the engi out, and get out.
Hell with my Dual kit condi I can facetank the turrets and still pressure the engi off point, taking it WITH HIS TURRETS THERE. No power damage required.
I have no idea what you mean.
Open it. What you get is Account bound.
Turrets are far too strong, and promote ridiculous low still gameplay. They either need to have far less health, far less damage/cc, or stay the same but allow players to disable them through CC, blinds, chill etc and allow conditions to damage them.
Atm turrets left strategically on or around a point can pretty much stop a glass build from capping, there is no counter play. On certain points a turret engi can just run around avoiding damage and LoSing while turrets do all the work. Its probably the worst thing in game atm.
No counterplay? WOW… Outplayed by an AI to a WHOLE new level.
The irony is that despite their bad builds, that clearly affects their MMR, you get match with and against them…
Well, they are so subtle I never noticed those changes… you don’t happen to have any proof?
Go into LA, look around. No more proof needed.
There was NO LIFE in LA after the Breachmaker. Now there is.
The question is, what is faster? The workers, or the wildlife regaining their territory?
Who will be first?
LOL without knowing every factor involved? Who knows?
I would put money on Wildlife returning because they can “migrate” from other areas, also most plants that grow in there are also pretty fast growing tropical stuff.
Dono.
Oh and Yakslapper.
Evil… Pure, unadulterated evil…
EDIT : Collections are geared to rewards other than AP Jaken. They give some, but ridiculously little for the effort/cost.
My feelings on celestial are already pretty clear, it doesn’t allow classes to be jacks of all trades, it helps three specific classes turn into masters of all trades.
I feel like this is pretty accurate.
yep this is basically how it is i will add something tho just to deter trolls it allows 3 specific classes to utalise a specific build to become master of all trades
Awesome, so play it, and see how masterful the build is…
EDIT : And don’t forget to record.
Wildlife has been returning, I believe 1 or 2 bridges have been built/repaired, I also see more plants and the sky is less dark.
There are subtle differences for those astute enough to see.
But yes, progress has been slow.
I watch high MMR streamers, they fight a turret eng as much, if not more than me.
Do they QQ as much as you do? EVERY SINGLE day…
There is no point in debating with you. So cheers…
