This happens to rabbits and other animals/enemies in game because gw2 has absolutely no AI whatsoever.
As far as I know, phantoms don’t benefit from sigils. They do benefit from some base stats though. I know power, precision, vitality and condition damage for certain. I don’t think they inherit toughness but I’m not sure.

Not only an infinite mining pick is useless because the normal ones are cheap but spending 10$ for pixels and pixels that aren’t even useful is kinda funny imo. Like not because its new YOU have to buy something as worthless…

Take The Deep as an example if you’ve played gw1. it had zodiac weapons, no DR, you could spam the kitten out of this dungeon all day if you wanted to and sell unwanted skins for money (and it wasn’t a cheap skin when it was first introduced)… The person farming them is rewarded and the one who was looking for the skin/certain req. Why is it because of stupid TP im not allowed to sell THINGS IN GET IN A DUNGEON? I feel like TP is trashing this game… spamming in Spamadan was so much better and you could actually sell and buy everything you wanted and no worry about economy. I bought the game to play it and have fun, not kittening looking at its economy…

But people already ARE in fotm (look at gw2lfg) for months… Haven’t you seen dozens of threads people complaining about ‘all dungeons are dead, everyone is doing fractals’? Currently as many or more are spamming cof path 1, why? for money and its quick. fotm isn’t quick, so those who like quick runs won’t be doing it for sure. Not only that but you have to remember that you can only do so many dailies per day and not 200 cof p1 runs IF you wanted to. And i will never understand how could anyone consider pve zones lively (since last couple of patches) when all you see is people camping world events, this is not lively world, this is a boring way of making money with something that demands no effort.

Ascended rings (and other gear) should be salvagable in order to gain Fractal items but also usable in Mystic Forge (gain another kind of ring).

Are you saying you don’t otherwise make money in the fractals? Because generally speaking, the fractals are the most profitable thing I do without selling rings.

So, what is the exact reason after all these months devs did nothing knowing people will have tones of ascended rings? Is it because they’re too easy to get? Please don’t tell me because they’re ‘too easy to get’ when it took many people week(s) to get 2… This is just ridiculous that i need to make a character just to store ascended crap and its not like i will ever merch ascended level items (i did merch 7 cuz they were soulbind to one character on which im not using them anymore). How many more months until i can do something useful with these!?
If AN makes asc rings tradeable then the price will drop to about 20s(or less) for most of them in a matter of days. Getting your first asc ring is something special. And getting the right one is also very rewarding. That would change if you could just buy them for 20s at a trader.
Some items should be just accomplishment(not profit).
I don’t think price would drop THAT low when there is a tone of lev80 exotic accessories worth way more but only letting us salvage them for ectos (if they chose to not let us sell on TP) would be good enough against the joke 4 silver they worth when merching.

and what exactly you want me to do? stand in LA afk? i don’t even ‘make money’ i just want to get rid of rings i got over the months and make a profit instead of wasting a character slot as a storage. FOTM is the only dungeon that keeps me playing because i want fractal sword and you want it or not you’ll be making money spamming 1-2 dailies like four or five days a week.

Took me about 15g (the first two months of game’s release) to see how of a joke mystic toilet really is and i LOL at those who’ve spent over 100g, not very smart, brah.
If you actually look at how retaliation damage is determined, you would see that the damage is determined is based on the power a character has.
Therefore someone with a super bunker build with little or no power would also in turn do low amount of retaliation damage.it still is a cheese mechanic, just like phantasm mesmers and every spec that relies on the ai to win

duels would certainly be better than the crap available but what i really want is attack/defend kind of gameplay.

would be cool, but is actually pretty hard to achieve, there is allways gonna be some clipping… either that, or your char’s movements would have to be limited to avoid clipping, which seems kinda hard
They should ask cd project red for that cuz the witcher 2 perfected clipping issues. But hey, we’re talking about gw2 here, the game that doesn’t even resize swords properly and 1/4 of the sword goes under ground when stowed… not in many games and certainly not big budget ones you’ll see that much fail.
DE is not OP. It is a core mechanic of many but not all Mesmer builds. Why is this thread still going?
Because this thread has nothing to do with DE being OP, balanced or not. Just a question if it would bother you to the point of permanently re-rolling to another class or leave the game since this and illusionist celerity are our most used and best traits.
Scepter does more damage in a power build than a condi one, significantly more damage actually. Hard to consider staff as a real condi weapon and Torch is,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Torch, bad for everything. I’d take a condi based MH pistol over a power one any day
Can you describe why you think they aren’t condition weapons? Scepter still needs to be reworked, that’s already a fact. But how can you say that about Torch? Both skills do conditions. And how can you say Staff doesn’t do conditions? It’s entirely based around conditions.
Why does the pistol then have to be a condition weapon if it’s mainhand? MH Dagger is also a viable option that could be extended to the Mesmer as well as new weapons that could be introduced in the future. A pistol isn’t a condition weapon, it’s a power weapon. You could do a mix and put bleeds on the #1 skill like was previously suggested, for example.
I just don’t think that making MH pistol a dedicated condition weapon is the best idea. I’m sorry, but every class can’t do every build. This whole conversation just feels like a “well a necro can do a ton of conditions so why can’t a Mesmer” kind of thing. If Mesmers get mainhand pistol, it would come with other weapons that have other options. Also keep in mind that, with traits, you can build a power build that does significant condition damage. That’s where I believe the Mesmer is at when it comes to condition builds.
Because mesmer conditions mostly come from illusions and not THE mesmer. When your auto’s (scepter) apply no condition and you have to rely on Sharper Images that’s not good enough compared to many other classes/builds. Spatial Surge is the only auto without conditions that works perfectly with sharper images, not to mention how slow scepter attacks are. And im not saying MH pistol to be condi based, i’m just thinking this will be the first added weapon to the mez and a condi weapon is what i want. Also, i want that condi weapon to be ranged (900 range or more) and most importantly, mez NEEDS poison and not something crappy lasting 2sec once per 30sec. I don’t consider a staff as a condi weapon because vulnerability considerably decrease condi damage from your clones which is your main source of damage, Choas Armor doesn’t blind=Blinding Befubblement won’t work for mass confusion stacking and what else would you consider good condition skills on a staff, chaos storm? lol -.- I would take a wipe as a condi weapon over MH pistol but it better have more than 600 range. Weapon style is not important to me, i just want something considered good for condi builds.
you should be running all the useful ones and switch for x situation.

GS is power, torch is better with power, scepter is better with power, focus is power, pistol is good for both power/condi, staff is meh condi/defensive, sword is power… i think we have enough power weps… Then again, imagine if every weapon skill had a choice of 3-5 skills and you could run a MH pistol for power or condi, but nooo, we can’t change anything and have to run crappy presets.

Staff is the most powerful condition weapon Mesmers haveIf Whips are added that’ll be another condition/cc weapon. Mesmers have plenty of options when it comes to conditions especially with iWarlock. You also have to remember Mesmers aren’t Necros or Engineers; they don’t have the super Godly condition builds available to them and they won’t.
As for have more options for each weapon, that’s an option that’s inevitable. It’s an option everyone wants and it would add to the diversity of the game but it won’t happen for a while. Eventually it will, but for now no. Pistol MH would be a power weapon.

I’ll agree that it should be power based as opposed to conditions. Having stun on the mainhand would be a bit OP with a double stun available. I can see auto attack doing 1s of Vulnerability and maybe the #3 skill being a bouncing attack while #2 skill would create a clone that could maybe do some type of boon to allies in the area.

Woah. A bouncing attack like that for an autoattack? No way, dude. That would be overpowered for certain.
If we get a mainhand pistol (and that’s a pretty big if), it should be something like this:

1. Shoot the target [1/4] > Shoot the target [1/4] > Shoot the target and inflict a random condition for 1 second [1/4] (900 range)
2. Daze the target for 1 sec [1/4] (10s CD, 750 range)
3. Summon a clone on the target that fires confusing bullets [1 sec] (15s CD, 900 range, needs LOS and clone attacks every 10 seconds and inflicts 3 stacks of confusion for 3 seconds)Or perhaps the 2 slot could be something similar to the Engineer’s pistol 3 skill. I dunno. But it needs to not be OP.
A mainhand pistol would NEED a clone skill of some sort. It would break the class theme, otherwise.
All this being said, if mesmer got a mainhand pistol, I could die happy.
Staff and trident already bounce and both give boons. What a suggested for pistol doesn’t apply boons so obviously must be more powerful. Base damage could be really low as well. All i want from main hand pistol is a true condi weapon. Not scepter crap or Staff with its useless invulnerability on WoC. Will be disappointed if MH pistol is ANOTHER weapon made for power builds…

Exactly 60$ for now and its staying like that until an expansion comes out (implying ill be still playing gw2). Not wasting real dollars on worthless BL keys and when i need gems for fine transmute stones (pretty much the only item on gen store that is useful) i trade my in game gold for gems.

You post in a mesmer forum expecting peeps that play one to tell you that yes, they’re OP? Thief was much more OP with stealth spam but now its acceptable. D/D ele is the only class/build i’d consider OP because they’re too good at everything.
Another thing i would like them to add is DX11 support sooner than later. Soon even consoles will have support to DX11 and a pc exclusive released less than a year ago (when plenty of DX11 games were already available for years) doesn’t support it and run on the outdated dx9…

that is because the whole genre is stuck in the 90’s. Like how many more years do i have to wait for an MMO that has half decent story or something good like bioshock infinite? How many more years until an MMO has AI more intelligent than what was available in later freaking 80’s… GW2 combat is not stuck in the 90’s and that is why it feels like all other mmo’s are ancient in comparison but when you look at gw2 campaign and AI its as ancient as it can get, haven’t evolved one bit.
All i want is a new dungeon with its own unique skins to grind (something you can grind more than once a day cough stupid fractal weps…) and new armor, ascended or not i don’t care but ZERO new armor skins in 8 months when so many new weapons were included is ridiculous.

i wonder, in how many months/years will they add a new dungeon? Why aren’t they adding a new one knowing all available ones are lacking in the ‘fun department’. A brand new dungeon (not fractal bs) with bunch new skins and most importantly challenging would be great
I used to think that DE was nigh mandatory and that the difference between a Mes with and without it was night and day, but now I feel it’s more that our other traits just have either lackluster effects or odd trait placement. For example I tried fiddling with a build that used Fury on interrupt, but it was made difficult because IP shares the same tier as Imbued Diversion in GM Illusions. Compare to DE which has exquisite placement that can complement many builds.
if you want to play a rupt mez u play gw1 lol a rupt mez has no place in gw2.
all my friends game on consoles so if this is released on consoles and is cross platform it could awesome sauce. One thing i hope next gen does that current didn’t is cross platform. I want to play on my pc against ps4 AND 720 players.
Scepter is lacking a lot but that’s the chain im using in a 1v1 (if running condi build and bother with scepter). Decoy, iDuelist (won’t break stealth), Confusion Images, Counterspell if you’re speced with Blinding Defuddlement, (keep magic bullet for 2nd rotation unless your confusion stacks were removed), swap to staff blah blah blah.
Nec has one, Mark of Evasion with 10sec CD so they could do something stupid like that since there’s LOTS of people crying about mes spamming too many clones.
2130 power, 1810 toughness, 40% crit chance, 60% crit damage, 15k HP, 310 condi damage. That’s all worth mentioning.
