Yep, now instead we have replaced it with the ultra fun stand around for 2 hours waiting for an event to start you can zerg it with 200 people who won’t listen to direction and then fail!

2 hours? lucky. On my server you have to get to the map in 3-4 hours early so you don’t end up in a overflow. That’s why I’ll be ignoring this update. I want to play, not wait.

These events feel very empty aside from just having an incredible quantity of dps sinks that don’t even reward you. I don’t understand this anymore. The gameplay isn’t good enough to completely drain the loot from the events like this.

if there was loot from that champ people would just farm those champs rather than completing the event just like scarlet’s last time. Its a good thing that this time there is no look.

That doesn’t apply here since the whole point of the event is to kill the champions before they get to the portal

Buy from the TP, you could probably get a full exotic set for 10g

Speak for yourself. I can type over 100 words per minute and can type a sentence or two in the time that it takes for my skills to cooldown, and I still won’t be hit by a boss.

As it stands, I could literally stand there at any World boss and type all I want…. it’s easy.

Many mmorpg’s have attempted to implement an in-game voice-chat system, but people had problems hearing other players, the chat would drop out randomly, and they were clunky systems to begin with. I don’t foresee an in-game voice-chat system ever.

you can type as fast as you want but in the middle of a boss fight nobody is going to be reading it

I did it 2 times and still didn’t get a mail or anything.

I didn’t even get the instance in LA, and I did the marionette event twice!

I was just about to make a thread about this. This is horrible, I log in, get a mail that tells me to go somewhere, I go there, and then nothing, just a bunch of people standing around. And now what? I have to stand there for hours doing nothing and wait for the event to start? This is just bad.

Edit: Didn’t the “majority of people” enjoy Bazaar of the Four Winds? I didn’t see many complaints about it. It was one of my favorites :P

Bazaar was awesome! By far my favorite one, and it actually had achievements that wore fun to do, not just stupid grinding.

The problem was that the other builds weren’t good enough, nerfing crit dmg just makes that one build worse, the others are still useless. Now it’s only going to take even longer to kill all those meat shield enemies that pose 0 threat and have millions of hp

Warrior or guardian, the other classes are redundant.

There’s enough skins, maybe you didn’t get to lvl 80 yet, that’s when the skins start appearing, until then you’ll pretty much look the same

So rangers suck. Anybody knows it and no respectable player would wear a ranger. And if you happen to log your ranger, there is hardly a group where you are not told by one or more morons that you suck just because you are a ranger.

1. where this really started and how can you really tell that a class or a player has a low damage without dps parser?
People say that a thief or a war with a bow does more damage than a ranger. How can anyone prove this claim?

2. if rangers are improved, and would perform as a welcome (ranged) dpsers, how long it takes before the antiranger prejudice dies?

But it is true, I made a ranger character, I got to lvl 45 and it’s pretty clear that there is absolutely no objective reason to play a ranger over a warrior or any other class, they don’t do anything better than another class.

Game free time? They raised my daily achievement grind by 4 hours a day thanks to the new pvp dailies. Totaling upto 6 hours of dailies per day.

The people who want the game will just buy it, it’s really not that expensive, making a video where you embarrass yourself really isn’t worth it.

I would love to point out that costume skins were only added to GW1 very late in the games life cycle. Yes holiday events always had new hats, but that was just two hats per holiday which is a lot less difficult than anything GW2 does.

Ok, I know it’s not supposed to be easy. However, I’m having three problems that are a long way from fun and beyond frustration, so some help and sympathy would be appreciated.

1. Huge hairy tigers and chunky Norn’s – My toons aren’t large, and I can’t see when the big chaps are jumping around at the same time. Wouldn’t be a problem if there was no timer and melting snowflakes. However, it’s much worse…

2. At the stairs of exploding presents. Even if I wait a looong time until there’s no one else around, as jumping with other people is extreeemely difficult and totally random, I can’t seem to press the jump button fast enough, my old, war wounded hands just can’t take it :’(

3. And what do old people suffer from the most? WIND! Yep, it doesn’t help that I’m freezing to death (and we’re not just talking about the price of electricity in the UK here), with my health running low, but random gusts of wind keep blowing me out of safe spots.

The exploding presents and random winds are just too random, and way too frustrating. I really like jumping puzzles; as a test of skill, but the random nature of the latter part of this puzzle is provoking my PTSD….

I opened over 1k presents and found no such recipe

Weapons and armor? None. Why would I grind for months for a pathetic stat boost.

The Good and the Living Story factions would make a great team, but they rarely seem to want to work together.

Nothing, I didn’t play the game in a month, and I won’t play it until they add an expansion with some actual content, not this crap, 3 hours of content every 2 weeks (more if you’re willing to grind in order to get “achievement” points).

Those people either (A) never played GW1, or (B) have forgotten that the vast majority of “rewards” for content completion in GW1 was cosmetic at best, if not outright garbage.

Yes, I have never played GW1, how does that invalidate peoples complaints of poor loot in GW2? Just because the loot was bad in GW1 doesn’t make it ok for it to be the same in GW2

Remember that in order to put this permanent new content in they took out old permanent content content. So if you didn’t do the forward up path in TA before, well screw you, you’ll never get to do it now.

The investors don’t care if you’re happy, they only care about the number of people playing.

I agree with you that SAB should be permenant and not just a fill in living story content.

I know for a fact that dev feels the same way, they are searching more options to make living story impactful, and permenant. Just look at the last 2 living story updates. Tequatl is now changed and they made a new path in Twilight Arbor (Assault).

I believe dev is now on the right track and I have been enjoying myself alot, of course, there have been growing pains and each new content will bring more growing pains, but at the end of the day, I believe its gonna get better and better.

The Teq event is pretty much dead on my server, just 2 weeks after the release, people got sick of all the waiting around just to get a chance to kill the dragon for a chance to get good loot. Now whenever I go there there are just about 15 people hanging around there and it’s impossible to do it.

you mention the new dungeon as good permanent content, but are you aware that in order to put it in they took another path out of the game?

what’s the point? The map isn’t an open world but a collection of individual zones divided by invisible walls and mountins

the spwan window kill the event, you you need to spend 30 to 90 minutes doing nothing for a CHANCE to kill the dragon for a CHANCE to get some worthwhile loot.

So you would have a reason to stay loged in for more than 30 min, that’s all they care about, it’s doesn’t matter if you are having fun or not.
