In theory I know what you mean, but I can’t help it, when I fight BG and IoJ I have a good time. Even though BG is relentless about coming out on top, my in-game experience is you win some and you lose some.

And I don’t care if you laugh or bow when you beat me (even though the bows are evidence of good manners and speak well of your upbringing), ‘cause I’m too busy rezzing to come back for a rematch.

Maybe folks just haven’t gotten the hang of it, but Saturday I spent a fair amount of time in the Blue BL, waiting for 10 folks to sign up with Siegerazer, the new NPC commander. We had more than 10 banging round the map solo; they’d rez and run past us to die again against bad odds.

The one time I was there when we got a quorum together, he kicked butt. I suggest signing up with him if you have the opportunity.

I’m not one for hugs, but playing WvWvW in tier 2 is kitten-near always a hoot. I’m baffled as to why the forum gets so testy.

Every now and then in WvWvW or sPvP I feel like I hit vengeance but died anyway, which always elicits a “what the kitten!” outburst.

But it’s not useless. I’ve gotten a fair number of kills by rezzing and pulping the guy who downed me. And it’s even more useful in PvE, since NPCs aren’t good at finishing us off when we are downed.

On another note, the hammer is not our best dps weapon. It’s our best CC weapon… although you can still dps with it but, arguably, not to the same degree as a GS or axe.

Just started using it Friday, after a Norn warrior wore me out with his hammer. I’m having fun with it, and it seems to do better against mesmers than my GS.

If more of your team is within an objective’s circle, will you capture it any faster?

Gosh, I hope so. Otherwise I’m facing a lot of “get my points” vs. “help the team win” decisions. I say this because many times the team would come out better if your party split up to go after multiple objectives concurrently, especially when both sides have small teams.

I describe my charr warrior build as a “glass cannon”, but it’s becoming clear that is not accurate. Sure, I go down fast enough, but it doesn’t look like I’m dishing out much damage. There are at least a handful of professions that hand my head to me in 1v1, including Thief, Ranger, Elemental, and Mesmer. I’m most comfortable fighting other Warriors.

I know, L2P. But I have seen times when I unloaded every CD I have and not caused discernible harm, while my warrior’s health has been reduced to 50% or less.

Don’t get me wrong, I love playing my Warrior. But the main lesson I’m learning is that when I fight one of the other professions, I need to bring a friend or two along.

My character’s attributes are:

Power: 2279
Precision:1224
Toughness: 1181
Vitality: 1643
Attack: 3390
Crit chance: 19%
Armor: 2392
Health: 25642

Armor is enhanced with 6 Superior Runes of Divinity.
Hammer and rifle each have a ruby orb.

Any suggestions more helpful than L2P or uninstall, and I’m all ears.

I hit 80 awhile ago, so in between dailies and WvWvW I’m working on map completion. I’ve cleaning up vistas, skill challenges, etc. in Diessa Plateau, and it’s coming back to me why so much of this was left to finish.

Some spots there are really tough! The Blasted Moors, in particular, are like an early taste of the Cursed Shore — there are always NPCs hitting you for significant damage.

I’m glad that I’m max powered for the map; it’s tough enough to suit me even given that advantage.

Thieves kill me at will anyway — it feels like being oneshot ambushed, but the combat log shows it is actually a flurry of attacks. The perceived transition is getting slammed and downed in a fraction of a second by something you never saw. And, you notice, I did not complain about that — I do not expect all classes to be equally capable at all tasks.

When I’m downed fighting visible players I have at most one chance to delay being finished (viz., by throwing a hammer), and the fact is that I’m already easy meat. Why make it completely trivial by allowing the thief to remain invisible while finishing?

I don’t like complaints that a class is OP, but the ability of some professions to go into stealth and finish a downed player while invisible is utter kitten. Bad. Nasty. Leaves a rotten taste in my mouth, a feeling of anger and frustration, long term angst, high blood pressure, cynicism, ennui, peptic ulcers, and halitosis.

It’s one thing to be stabbed in the back, but I can’t even throw an hammer at them when I am dying? Disgusting!

If you are in the Lion’s Gate overflow map and want to go to WvWvW, 3 of the choices are called “unknown borderland”.

They always seem to be, from top to bottom, red, blue, and green (3rd, 2nd, and 1st).

Why not call them red, blue, and green (or 3rd, 2nd, and 1st)?

I guess the trick is to keep your hands off the mouse and keyboard and really let the client retry the connection; I kept exiting and restarting, which definitely did not work.

At present I’m 7% through the download; I am crossing my fingers that it completes w/o fuss and muss.

Great only reply to my post so far has been someone that again did not answer any point I raised about repair costs. You people supporting repair costs really need to stepup your AnetIdea defense force.

My character is a glass cannon: if somebody sneezes hard, I’m downed. I think I know a thing or two about repair costs, and in my opinion, they are no big deal.

I do find WvWvW to be a gold drain, but I believe that’s less from combat than because I’m compulsive about upgrading forts & camps, even as a last ditch scorched earth policy when a site is being captured.

If you are running short of silver and are level 80, spend a few hours doing temple events on Cursed Shore. You’ll be flush before you know it.

A rare armor repair is not that big a deal. As for kills, I get most of mine when my teammates have downed an opponent — where is the fairness in that?

You’re entitled to your opinion, but I think ArenaNet has made a brilliant response to a problem that was souring a lot of people’s experience in WvWvW.

It seems to me that if a group or server is night-capping you, then you are night-capping them.

Think of the dude in Korea who, every time he starts WvWvW, says to himself “Dad-gum! Look at what these NA kittens did while I was asleep or at work!!”

The advantage of running in big groups is the ability to use the advantages of everyone in the group. I would think lessening the speed of big groups would defeat that advantage.

Honestly, that is the exact intent of this suggestion. A big zerg already has a numerical advantage; a speed advantage on top of that overly promotes zergfest style WvWvW, which is not to my taste.

For some builds, 6 runes of divinity are far superior to any other rune. What immediately comes to mind is a glass cannon GS/rifle warrior. There is a reason they’re so expensive – they’re the ultimate glass cannon runes

They aren’t the particle effect for a shielding ability are they? Sometimes I’ve seen them get glitched and hang around after the effect has worn off.

I go solo there quite a bit. No doubt about it, that will keep you busy.

My character is “Combat Healer”, on the basis of performing over 1,000 heals. It’s the only achievement rating that I’ve come anywhere close to maxing out.

(It wasn’t by design, but rather the notion that most of my teammates are probably better fighters than me and need to be on their feet if possible. Probably I should have built a guardian instead of a glass-cannon warrior.)

I noticed some giant, transparent, blue-tinted spheres now in WvWvW, e.g., at Greenbriar tower.

Think this will be incorporated in the December even?
