As someone who is consistently ‘Top 20’ in SoloQ – I have to say that I hate it. Not many ‘Top 20’ actively play because they care too much about their precious rank. Anyway, I will queue at the same time with people from around ‘Rank 40-160’ but I will never get a match when they do and will get a longer queue only to be put with 9 nobodies who aren’t even ranked. I gave some players so much kitten earlier because of this happening even though it wasn’t their fault.
If you want to avoid kitten like this then leave the queue after 5 minutes. Only problem here is that you will have to wait 3-4 hours for a match.
ArenaNet don’t know their game well enough to realise how much damage Skyhammer has caused to SoloQ. It’s really sad that they don’t play their own game.
So you’re covering 2 professions every 2 weeks. Which means at least 2 months until any balance? Hilarious. In reality I wouldn’t expect a balance patch until october at the earliest. At least its summer :P
Agreed – I laughed as well. It’s better than nothing though I guess.
Edit: I can’t believe people are actually happy with this. I don’t think people realise what this means. It’ll be over TWO MONTHS till next balance update.
your really good shoutcaster blu, anet should invite you to every tourney free of expenses and let you shoutcast or even pay you for shoutcasting. but thats about what i think your really good at. you cant be 100% good at shoutcasting and 100% good at pvp just doesnt happen. dont take this as an insult. just cant be good in both shotcasting and pvp at the same time.

You going to let people carry on AFKing Skyhammer whenever it comes up in SoloQ? If you are, can I AFK all matches whenever I want to lower my rank for faster queues? I am currently doing so as you seem to be fine that people do it on Skyhammer.
I am a pretty chill guy irl, it is not my nature to get rage. Like at all.
However occasionally, in map chat or directed at a certain team member, I can get rather angry. I’m an experienced PvPer. I enjoy good games with good team mates against good opposition. After multiple games of being disallowed this and versing players using hotjoin builds etc, I do start to get a bit angry.
My anger is absolutely directed in the wrong places, it’s not the players fault, it’s matchmakings fault for putting r80’s with r5’s who weren’t really sure where they should be qing anyway.
I think there’s a lot in the same boat as me, changing the matchmaking to base it closer to experience would reduce a huge amount of the general negativity in PvP and would make it a lot more welcoming for new players playing alongside fellow new players.

In the last couple of weeks? lol…more likely since one year ago…15th patch was just the last blow..
Last weeks ESL weekly cup gave us 8 teams, the first time in a few months now tbh.
The only reason to play PvP is ESL once a week….thats all. So why should ppl play TPvP or Soloq? Some ppl are just coming online to play ESL and then they go afk for 1 week.
Just compare SoloQ to what it was like 2-3 months ago. I feel so stupid for ever complaining about players back then. It’s so unplayable at the moment.
…and TeamQ – Do I really need to explain what TeamQ is like? TEAMS ONLY PLEASE.

Nothing – I barely play anymore after being probably one of the most active PvPers over the last 6 months.
If you are still playing because you hope things will get better, I want to give you some advice and that is it won’t get better and if it does, it will only be very slightly – You are being led on by ArenaNet.
ArenaNet hoped the ‘Feature Patch’ would do amazing things for sPvP and I don’t think anyone can deny that it destroyed SoloQ and did nothing for TeamQ.
Anyway – I will probably continue to play casually but I can’t imagine myself being here in 3 months.
SoloQ is extremely terrible at the moment. It makes me feel stupid for complaining about it before patch. Decent players that never use to flame can’t even hold it back anymore because it frustrates them so much.
TWO THINGS
- Remove Hotjoin Cap (Reward Tracks)
- Remove Skyhammer
You will make SoloQ a much better place for everyone if you do this. After 5000 SoloQ games, I think I probably know more about it than you all at ArenaNet. I have experienced everything in SoloQ.
PvE players who don’t even want to be there themselves are destroying SoloQ.
I have had horrible games today including one where I had a much better team and I knew the other team had no chance so I went AFK at the start to see if my team could win 4v5 and they did – It’s just sad. I knew that they had no chance so that’s why I did this. I hate this, I want proper games and there is no where to go for that at the moment.

absolutely this I am prettycertain as I have done some test on two different accounts and been asking people what rank they are on the lb. The games in the top 1000 are so much better. They are by no means perfect but its a lot better.
He wasn’t being serious with his comment. I didn’t want to mention who I am and what rank I have been because people seem to get bashed for saying things like that.
