What worries me most is being able to chill/fear/cripple Eles. As a power necro this makes dagger even more unappealing. Do we have to assume all Eles are running this trait and just autoattack them until 90%?

Yes. Or you could use a ranged LB for an opener.

My worry is that the nerf to Enfeebling Blood is absolutely going to kill my berserker necro. It was the main source of defense for this build and I can only imagine how quickly I will get burst down now.

Well if it makes it any easier for you…you werent the only one using it for self defense in a power build :/

Might as well run A/F D/D and pick up dagger mastery or ritual of protection. Can’t say the new weakening shroud is worth using for power necros anymore when it comes to self defense.

I can’t really call the change to weakening shroud a nerf, they just outright made it worthless! 2 seconds of weakness? 1 bleed stack? lol? is that a joke? this used to be one of our main tools to applying weakness and burst stack bleeds. really making the trait’s cd higher or matching the actual skill’s cd would have been acceptable.
looking at mesmer’s Chaos V alone makes me laugh at how pathetic our current weakening shroud is.

Aaaand hey look a nerf to MoB? lol? really? why? like really? why destroy our ability to stacks bleeds? so all condimancers are forced into speccing for burning? something engis get at master tier while we have to go all the way to grandmaster? bullkitten!

I guess Anet is telling us to re-roll mesmer, put on new healing signet and run PU/Phant thus becoming the new warriors or switch back to power builds.

at least I took a week to get accustomed to my power build again in case bleed stacking ability takes a hit.

if even Nemesis has lost faith in Anet’s ability to improve condition necromancers then there is not much I could say to improve morale

Adjustment to PPT
I am more in support of PPT limits to owning structures. For example, your server is green in the matchup, and in EB, you gain points from Aldon, Klovan, Jerri and Wildcreek. But if you take Quentin from blue, you do not gain the points but you deny points from blue. This is to counter servers with 24/7 coverage, taking all the objectives and have their PPT snowball out of reach from the other servers. In the current system, you not only deny points, you also gain said points. That’s a double gain.

I am actually in favor of such a change to PPT if it would ever be considered. It would force people to defend objectives to continue to gain points rather than stay on the offensive 24/7.

I had the same experience several times and the mst recent was in our match up against Blacktide and Dzagonur.
It was just about sunrise time when I and 3 other players were upgrading our home borderland to the max. everything was fine until the guys decided to go to sleep and let me oversee the last upgrades of our southern towers. I was about to head off as well until two BT Guardians took over 2 fully upgraded camps and built two alpha golems to take down our southern towers. They almost melted down an upgraded gate but I managed to take them both down with their golems thanks to the AoE potential my necro had. Once I dealt with the danger is went to EB to ask for backup to help restore our upgrades and repair the tower’s gate before more roamers or small grups start invading our deserted borderland. My request for back up was shot down in favor of capturing t1 camps and towers in EB. I returned to our borderland to find that was I had feared actually came true as I was greeted multiple DZ small groups undoing all my and everyone else’s hard that night on our borderland. I returned to EB to send the message that our borderland is in dire need of help. Sadly only a handful of players decided to return and lend a hand. Sadly it was not a force we could deal with alone. I have decided to log off and head to bed as I had a lecture in the afternoon and I needed my rest. By the time I logged in again all the upgrades were destroyed except for one northern tower and our garrison which we lost in couple of hours.

In anycase, I’m sure there were many like me who wasted over 20 gold overnight on upgrades and siege weapons in a ghostly map just to see all their hard work undone by a very small number of players PvDing gates with almighty golems doing the work very effectively but how can we solve this kind of problem? 80% of the population wont be so selfless as to waste time and gold on defense, upgrades, siege placement and scouting when there are commanders leading their golems and zerg to earn easy karma and wxp by taking over t1 towers and keeps on another map. What is needed is an incentive to make defending structures rewarding and worthwhile for players and not just a waste of time effort and gold. We also need to reduce the effectiveness of golems and I’m sure everyone agrees that a tier 9000 keep would not last over 10 mins when faced with the might of Omega Golems that zergs could build large numbers of, guard and escort to the target location with ease. Upgraded structures are plain defenseless when an enemy zerg decides to build the ultimate siege weapon with no counter. Omega golems can be bought on TP with a kitten cheap price tag on and built with only 150 supplies while upgrading just gates and walls of a keep requires 10 times that amount and costs alot more. that does not seem fair right?

I don’t really want to bore you much with a wall of text but I believe my stance on things are clear.

It is of no doubt that those spies could also have access to the community’s Voice Chat information, Commander’s position,exact location and rough estimates of the strength of the zerg they will be facing. So, it is more or less still the same with numbers shown or not on the enemy’s side. Not to mention Outnumbered buff is a dead give away that it is time to invade a deserted map as numbers of the opposition in this case are usually irrelevant or of no immediate threat. This level of spying and coordination can already dismiss the threat of pugs who are not present on the voice chat. However, showing those numbers to the community of regular WvW players could help them better organize their pugs and perhaps could help integrate their unorganized efforts into the main community’s. I agree that with spies showing those numbers could put the victim of such foul play into a disadvantage as the enemy will be able to predict the downtime where and when the WvW community presence is at its weakest. This can be the case when the servers are of equal strength and rating but that is rarely the case as most fights are almost 1 sided most of the time due to the faulty match making system or currently the “league”. There are more benefits to this than harm especially for a community that is looking to improve their wvw presence and take it to the next level through more precise organization of the numbers of their force .

That aside, I personally believe that the queue count should have been already included in the original design but guess there is no harm in considering it now.

In WvW, sometimes it would be beneficial if we are shown just how many allies we have got on each borderland and also on Queue waiting in line to get in.
It would help commanders and Guilds organize better and also help scouts who sometimes call things out in a deserted map for no reason.

It can’t be hard to implement this as tracking those numbers shouldn’t be a problem.

^That is just how I feel about it right now.

WvW wise, I will likely no longer be able to reliably stack 15+ bleed stacks anymore on a target without cheap geomancry procs now that weakening shroud, our attrition tool vs power is getting a kick in the kitten thanks to our “access to burning”. But at least I could still over-stack bleeds on my warrior for insane ticks of 3.2k.

Chill, fear, cripple, lots and lots of bleeding, isn’t that a good counter to power builds ? :o

No it isn’t unless it is 1vs1. That won’t do us much good when we are tossed around for sport. That is not going to counter BV, Scullcrack, Hammer CC chain, etc> burst.
We cant dodge every CC/immobilize> burst senario and the only thing that could save us some HP and lifeforce after is weakness on demand with DS.

I am not asking to be a walking death machine, but seems our defensive measures are lacking when compared to mobility, condition immunity, blocks, dodge spam and invulnerability frames.

I don’t really hate it at all but it is in a trait tree i dont wish to invest in so much as a condition necromacer and because of its addition to our damaging conditions our bleed stacking ability is being “kept in check” or “shaved” a bit along with the nerf to terror’s damage. more nerfs are coming and they only serve to emphasize the need for burning to cover for the lost dmg bleed stacking and terror suffered from.

otherwise I cant say no to more sources of damage….especially with the new diamond skin elementalists will soon receive. 30 20 0 0 20 is more a hybrid than pure condition build which can deal with the new immunity to condition they will have. it might even make taking down elementalists even easier by then.

if u use S/S LB try adding the trait to deflect missiles. reflect sneak attack whenever u can. they usually apply their venoms in stealth so that should give u a slight advantage. ask shout users if souts are helpful or not cuz im meh with those. sadly u will never keep a good p/d thief pinned down to deliver the finishing touch and will always be able to disengage. it all comes down to landing a flurry and sword 4. However, if they use p/d p/p to add confusion im afraid ur fate has already been sealed.

Axe/Shield is the best to burst them down. Axe AA is horrible though.

in anycase P/D counters warriors. expect to win against bad ones only.

It is all about conquest and balancing pvp for it and that might waste alot potential.
If pvp is ever going to evolve and improve, it is going to be through NEW game modes which will PROMOTE the need for new builds, traits, weapons, settings, tactics, etc to ARISE!
Really, conquest isn’t bad at all but playing conquest and conquest only through out the year is just not fun for many people and most importantly not healthy for GW2 at all! GW2 pvp needs more VARIETY more so than balance!!!

The year is almost over and promises of new builds traits weapons etc are not as important as another game mode! If you can’t adapt a single new game mode in GW2 pvp for so long then you might as well copy from crappy over re-skinned Call of Duty! I haven’t played GW1 so I can’t compare GW2’s pvp to it.

The game needs a new flavor otherwise it will grow dull and this game has alot of good potential that it would be a real shame to waste!

Can’t our devs develop a new game mode in a realistic time frame? Is it not a priority? I doubt we’ll ever know for sure but I’d just like to voice my concerns here.

the above poster raises a good point. devs will not allow an ele to be more than a “jack-of-all-trades and master of none” and the nerfs to the d/d ele are still coming and it will be hitting the vigor/ elemental attunement this time around. As far as I can tell the trait’s problem isn’t the immunity to condition damage itself but to other conditions like snares, weakness etc combined with stability, good mobility and decent healing and your ele in question will be hard to deal with since you wont keep up with him. It would be quite unfortunate to see eles see another nerf to mobility and healing because of it.

Diamond Skin should be fine as long as the immunity is exclusive to damaging conditions.

not sure why you’re so worries about eles when mesmers are going to be the new warriors soon enough. so better be ready for em!

eles wont have both their usual condi removal and diamond skin all in one package. they will have to forgo something for it and almost all eles take EA/elemental attunement so they wont be traited so deep into water magic. besides if you have a thief/warrior/mesmer partners for wvw roaming they will have fun making that ele’s skin a running joke. this will only be a problem when an ele is at the back of their zerg dishing their AoEs while immune to AoE conditions.

Among all the upcoming changes the nerf to weakening shroud hurt the most indeed. It saddens me that I will have to retire my favorite trait if it happens but I find nothing else in the adept tier worthy enough to replace it to add to our supposed theme of attrition.

I dunno about you but life transfer and Flesh Golem’s attacks should be enough to bypass it. Then again thief/warrior partners could take care of this “problematic” trait for us.

Dear PVE commanders,

Even though I personally despise you with a passion, would you please consider defending our t3 towers instead of PvDing ghosts and empty towers? Cuz you know 3 people aren’t supposed to wipe a whole attack while you would be so busy farming and when you’re done you’d just turn the tag off and vanish.

I always have problems with PU mesmers conditions or power it always doesnt end well for me especially if they use staff

you will see more mesmers in wvw now since they hard counter the army of warriors
