Subdirector NULL Issues

Was part of a coordinated party that knew exactly what to do and got NULL to a sliver of health, then the debuff started picking us off, and a healing turret outhealed our downed damage.

It’s utterly stupid that a party can do all the right things and lose because of bad luck. And not catastrophically bad luck. Just NULL being allowed to put its shield up ONE extra time with us unable to do anything because of detonated mines – just long enough for a cheap debuff to finish us off.

Null immune to conditions too?

Seriously, no one else is bothered by this? I don’t mind if NULL auto-cleanses all conditions when its shield goes up. That would’ve been annoying, but understandable. Being completely immune to conditions is just BS to condition builds.

It’s been happening to me sporadically the past few weeks. I almost never get chest rewards from Teq now, and for the first time I didn’t get a reward from Shatterer.

I haven’t really had too much trouble, but most of my guildies do. They make Breeders a higher priority target, but party response can’t handle them all the time without allowing some (read: just enough to be annoying) Hatchlings to be let loose. I think lowering the Hatchling HP is all that really needs to be done.

Cool story.

I don’t know if “cheesed” means easier, harder, or something entirely different. Personally I find the spider queen MUCH easier now, much like most of the changes to AC.

I think slightly increasing invulnerability and adding a delay to skill activation both to and from downed state would be a better idea. You have no idea how many times I find myself going from the heat of battle straight to vapor form, not realizing I’d just been downed and wasted my tactical escape skill.

This is certainly a really tricky issue, I personally wouldn’t like a delay most of the time as I often time this retreat on purpose as soon as I get downed before the skillbar even appears, I always liked that I could pull that off. This does sound like a bad move in spvp, but in pve getting out of danger a second earlier means you can get up faster.

Maybe, if my reaction weren’t almost always:

Make Confusing Images require a target

Too often I will trigger Confusing Images unaware that for whatever reason my currently selected target has changed to either nothing or an ally. When this happens, I’m forced to wait for Confusing Images to recharge for 15 seconds because Confusing Images does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING if an enemy isn’t targeted. The fact that it whiffs if the enemy is behind me is also something I wish didn’t happen, but it’s acceptable, especially since I can “save” my Confusing Images by changing position and still hit my enemy with one or two of its last hits.

If I activate Confusing Images while an enemy is right in front of me, I just harmlessly make my scepter shiny just because the enemy wasn’t “selected.” That’s just unfair. Please, either make it so the skill can’t be activated without having a target or give it some functionality if there is no target.

Heck, I was surprised TW WASN’T a Glamour.

TW needs SOMETHING after the Quickness nerf. Quickness was so good that all of TW’s limitations were acceptable. Now that Quickness is not THAT good, there’s no reason for all of TW’s limitations.

Trahearne gets a lot of undue hatred. He earned whatever praise he got, and people must be completely blind to the praise and importance the Hero got. Trahearne didn’t steal the spotlight, and his arc is effectively over before the actual fight with Zhaitan.

For that matter, Kormir didn’t steal the spotlight either. She just got way more reward than she deserved.

I think people are just salty the entire story isn’t completely focused on their character and they aren’t given heaps upon heaps of praise at every turn.

You know who stole the spotlight and got a lot of unnecessary praise and the undying love of multiple NPCs? Mhenlo. And that lasted nearly all of Factions.

I can help carry some bad PUG members, but usually not whole parties. I’ve taught a handful of parties to get through tough spots, but usually one jerk decides he doesn’t want to bother learning and ragequits, and weaker-willed players follow suit. Several times I’ve cleared the rest of whatever we were doing with a 4-player party, as if the ragequitter was holding us down. And sometimes the rest of the party just refuses to listen because they’ve had it hardcoded that the run has to be done a certain way when we don’t have the party makeup to do so.

One thing I’ve been annoyed by was the Cliffside fractal with the two arm seals. If someone screws up by killing a Chanter that we’re trying to keep alive, IT’S PERFECTLY POSSIBLE TO SALVAGE THE RUN WITH THE RIGHT STRATEGY. But the more likely scenario is that players give up and blame ANet for their lack of flexibility.

New AC seems fine to me. Did it with my guild and while it wasn’t a cakewalk, whatever failures we had were due to not knowing what to expect or bugs (path 3 boss is NOT OK… because of unpreventable unpredictability).

I handled the new Queen Spider just fine, but the other members of my party were getting crushed. Once we did path 2, it was back down to a science and much quicker to take down than pre.

Graveling hallway: learned quickly that the group was changed so there’s one Champion Scavenger and no regular ones. This just turned the Breeder into a higher priority target, and the Champion was no longer a faceroll pathetic Howler that occasionally knocked people back for weak damage.

New Ogre: more annoying and less annoying for different reasons. Can be completely shut down with anti-projectile skills.

New Kholer? Much easier. Complaining about adds? You must be used to luring Kholer away from his adds and not dealing with them. The adds were a minor and temporary nuisance pre, and now they’re not so temporary and just less than constant, but even less of a nuisance since they’re weaker. Get rid of them fast and focus fire on higher priority targets and get back to focusing on Kholer.

Path 1: Graveling burrows were new, and regular gravelings are now practically Scavengers. Even so, if you had the necessary DPS to destroy burrows before, you can do it just as easily now.

Boss can’t be fought from the stairs. This can only be a good thing. People have to lure adds to fire wells, making the NPC actually important. Good. Boss spams an annoying but not particularly lethal howl more often. No longer a cakewalk, but not even close to impossibly difficult.

Path 2: Spike traps are unchanged. Pre-boss, there are more ghost spawns but the ghosts are weaker. Not very different from before. Old version you would still get destroyed if you had two bad players that didn’t know what they were doing or defiantly refused to attack what was marked for focus fire. New boss requires some coordination, but it’s not really that active. Set your roles, get a system going. Pair up or whatever works. Realize that more oozes spawn when you hit the boss and don’t hit the boss needlessly. This was only mildly annoying because one of the traps bugged, but this also made it easier to charge the trap the boss was trapped on. May have been longer, but we had a LOT of fun with this fight and made Ghostbusters jokes throughout.

Path 3: Breeders no longer spawned from the burrows. This made it easier for our designated clean up crew. The boss is terribly broken and the only thing I agree with everyone about. Anyone that claims the boss is easy was lucky, simple as that. The only safe way to do this fight is with ridiculously high DPS and getting the first shield bubble to pop up correctly. Because the second one will NOT.

Fire Aura is no longer completely worthless as anything other than “being an Aura.” That’s all I care about.

Guilds too small for missions

Based on the lack of response, I’m under the impression everyone has either given up on small guilds or is uninterested in guild missions. Please contact me if you would like to preserve your small guild but still do the content.

The complete opposite for me. It’s because my small guild isn’t giving up on itself that we don’t like the idea of joining other guilds as a single guild. Absorbing small guilds into an alliance is utterly pointless given the reason for being in a small guild in the first place, at least for me. There is literally no difference between forming this frankenguild and abandoning a small guild to join a large guild.

Hard Rez Skills Not Being Used?

I would use Ele’s res glyph more often if it came out faster. I have to compete with a Warrior’s banner, which is by far the best res skill out there, and the fact that it only works on Downed, meaning by the time the glyph finishes casting, in most cases my ally has already been finished off or I could have res’d them manually.

I’m totally okay with the long cooldown. It makes sense. The long casting time makes it worthless in the few scenarios it actually makes a difference in. Literally the only time Glyph wasn’t worthless was when I used Air Attunement Glyph to res Magg out of lava.

Thanks to everyone that gave it a go. The temple defense event came, and we FINALLY got morale to drop. Unfortunately, the Pact Morale bar and the Pact Morale percent to protect the temple were apparently exactly the same, so we ended up losing the temple.

Rest assured, if we weren’t focused on killing our own allies, we would have easily fended those Risen off. Thanks to the Karma merch not selling us our Shards, we were unfairly cheated of several hours.

We attacked with south & central forces.

It looks like a conflict popped up because the northern forces decided to attack the temple while we were killing the Priest of Balthazar. Now we have Pact forces looking to take over a temple that’s already taken, and the Karma vender refuses to sell us them Shards.

If you don’t mind, I’d like to see this situation made impossible. Perhaps by making it impossible to attack the temple with less than all three Pact forces.
