Will there ever be a deathmatch arena, were we can do 10 v 10 on a map and the only aim is to get kills. Even if its just a fun mode, any idea if we will one day get this on gw2?

I have been wondering for a while whats wrong with gw2 spvp, why dont its not amazing like some other games. I have figured it out
- We arent rewarded for putting in hours of work in spvp. Apparently you can earn gold and further your account by killing people and destroying castles in wvw but in spvp no no no. . .
- Classes have too much.
To much movement speed, boons, damage, conditions. The next step from this is 3 second fights just wait for it.
- spvp game mode is dull, man when I play games like dota or even fps i enjoy what I am doing. But sitting on this circle for 15 mins so my team doesn’t lose becomes like a chore, can we get another way to earn points? or can actually killing people earn us more points.

Maybe the devs of pvp will actually start listening to the players, because I have seen these things posted alot.

So, I was thinking about returning to Gw2 and my thief, but the forums are telling me otherwise….
All we are going to be after this patch is noob killing machines – and that’s it. At least that’s what I’m getting from the forums these days :/

thiefs are still pretty good in wvw and pve. STill see people 1 v xing with the p/d in wvw.

He’s trying to reward Thieves using Headshot as a tactical interrupt rather than using it as a lock down skill, but his suggestion did not consider other effects that can happen or how much work it will be for Anet.
I understand the goal, it’s just that it will require Anet to spend time on really fixing Thieves rather than finagling with the numbers that doesn’t really fix the problem.
true, however in comparison to some of our useless traits and skills like deathblossom, crippling dagger and pistol whip. You could say headshot is in a good place right now
there is no reliable dd build. The 2 weapon build u can run atm are :
1. short bow and dagger pistol -10/30/0/0/30 (daze burst) or (25/30/0/0/15 – backstab burst)
2. Sword dagger and sword dagger – 10/30/0/30/0 – quick pockets — i think the other is 10/30/00/30 shortbow and s/d
You could maybe try the backstab burst with dd but ull be giving up ALOT of blinds, blinds and evades being ur only power in spvp. (stealth sux)

Nice post OP, yeah i fully agree make skyhammer a 20 v 20 map and the only map available on team queue. This map is a god given gift to guild wars 2, one improvement could be to add more of the glass tiles to the arenas surface.
sadly the pvp in spvp does not stand for player vs player… It stands for point vs point

In pvp when I see thieves on my necro I literally use signet of spite and fear and they will die from the condis alone. After 10 dec when less people trait SA us necrosis and Engis are going to feast.

aoe damage, conditions, burst heal, swiftness up all the time, vigor along with swiftness. All you need now are AI turrets on wheels ??

due to the nerf to opportunist, initiative heavy builds wont be viable anymore. Yeah our initiative per sec out of combat is being buffed, however our initiative gain while fighting people is being nerfed (opportunist cool down being raised to 5s from 1s, this skill gives u back initiative when ever u crit)
p/p – relies on unload + uses crit tree – wont work
s/p and s/d – initiative heavy in battle, 3 spam and 2 spam – wont work
d/p – dead in wvw, possibly still good in tpvp
d/d – should be fine.
p/d – should be fine

the thief is like anets ugly child. Its better to keep it locked away in a cupboard feeding it a breadcrumb or 2 when it makes enough noise.
They haven’t ruined the game. they’ve balanced it so that all players can enjoy it. Most thieves still enjoy their thief and will continue to enjoy playing it long after the December 10th patch. As anet said, the init change is a massive buff. You should trust them.
I sometimes wonder if you even play a thief since you don’t make sense most of the time. Initiative change is a buff for certain very specific builds. It is not a massive buff for all as you say.

This is why there wont be anyone playing seriously on a thief anymore. They are basically becoming a huge joke as of Dec. 10. Thieves already are a joke to high toughness, high condition builds that classes like necros, mesmers, rangers and engis can spec into.
The impression Anet gives is that they don’t listen to thieves that know the class or like thieves at all, so they should pretty much just remove the class.

Playing on my necro earlier and I noticed a few mesmers i played against spamming invis. I mean spamming it more then thieves usually do.
Since when can mesmers do this O_O?
i think it depends on more or less what the devs are playing. for example most of them are on the gaurdian and engineer buzz right now and dont play thief or ele therefore they balance that way.

Pretty much use ranged or u will almost always lose cause of the aoe spams.
I find engi. A strong counter to stealth Specially vsing them as a dd or dp thief, they just run around with perm swiftness and vigor while spamming aoe everywhere. I mean I rolled engi because of that but god kitten the class is just stupid atm lol, aoe needs to be scaled down a bit.
Yea you are wrong. They changed fs to fs+ls. Ls stole 2boons for 1ini…right after the buff. Then they increased the ini costs to 2. After that, they decreased the boons stolen to 1.
And of course thief gets nothing in return…its the stealth class.
So I am right in saying they buffed nerfed buffed nerfed , which means they ended up doing a long term nerf lol
dunno why all cry about so called “nerf” – in few cases it is a boost – i am leveling 3rd thief atm to get him geared after the “nerf patch” … let the haters hate .. i think only true thieves will stay playing

So s/d larcenous strike was once cheaper in initiative. When they upped ini they added the dual boon steal , which makes sense. Now they reduced boon steal back to 1 without lowering initiative cost back down.

lmfao at this thread. FIrst of all when u sh step with immob the immob stays on you, however when u sh step back it clears the condition as it should.
so yes it works, immob keeps you rooted to the spot… teleport is a teleportation skill not a movement skill and does not clear the condition.,

There is nothing wrong with the warrior, and it is not an over-powered class. Most people in the mists are garbage and don’t queue up with balanced builds. These people are susceptible to scrub-stomp tactics such as skull crack + 100 blades. This breed of gamer will also talk kitten in game and cry all over the forums.
Best thing to do is ignore them.
