I don’t like the current match because it highlights the flaws of WvW map design and mechanics.

Look at the post above yours. They’re a good guild on Maguuma. If you want to play, they’re receptive to setting up fights sometimes.

You mean Kaineng will predict the exact tier they will end up in and the exact placing within that tier? Oh, that’s cool.

Maguuma will always lose the night time in the top 9 ranked server area. Most of our asian/oceanic coverage is just NA nerds that don’t sleep, and even then we can’t compete with any real night time servers. Get used to losing your stuff overnight, because that’s how we’ve had to play forever.

The biggest winners are all t8 servers actually. The Elo hell of t8 is really mathematically difficult to break, and it was created artificially with transfers. It’s probably their biggest reason for doing this reset, because otherwise, t8 servers wouldn’t see the light of day besides a bandwagon.

The third point makes it sound like they will be hand picking the initial placements. It could be a pretty gentle reset that’s aimed only at settling the dying servers (CD/IoJ/SBI) quickly, and getting the t8 servers out of ELO hell.

Welp all of that ratings nonsense doesn’t matter with the reset coming on the 1st (check the sticky in this forum). Maybe we could do a big fight club night now??

As was stated earlier, FA has been in tier 3 for a long time without any major zergs to speak of.

That’s interesting, because it seems like clockwork where 60-70 FA start covering sw camp/tower to start the 4 hour siege. The way FA chips into Mag is anything but small and surgical. Not that it’s wrong, but let’s not pretend we’re all lacking numbers here.

Maguuma doesn’t control it’s populace anyway, so it doesn’t really matter. I am very eager to fight Kaineng, and I know a lot of people on this server feel the same.

I was hoping we fought the real IoJ in t4 so we could stick around and meet Kain there, but it didn’t work out that way. Don’t want us to miss the chance again.

edit: I’m 99% sure db/mag will lose to kain because WvW is all about coverage, but who cares about losing?

If we double team FA, nothing fun happens. If we double team Kaineng, literally pages of tears. I know which one I’d rather aim towards.

Kaineng isnt ready, Maguuma was alot more organized along with the #s. Kaineng is below them, so if Maguuma loses their t3 matchup, id be shocked if kaineng could pull it off.

Mag will come 2nd. FA is the hardest part of t3 and they’ll be gone next week. Kain will win t3, but they might need to play a second week to move to t2. t2 is when they will start hitting other 24 hour coverage servers, not t3.

From experience I have seen that using epidemic doesn’t really work worth a crap.

Epidemic is probably the strongest single ability in the game. You should really work on using it, because the damage output combined with the cooldown almost defines the profession in terms of WvW roles. Multiple necros using epidemic in a zerg vs zerg are putting out bananas damage.

Another bonus is necros being able to solo buffed camp supervisors in seconds because of Epidemic.

Either you typed this sentence weirdly, or you don’t know how ratings work. It’s a ratio that’s relative to the other servers rating. If Kain stayed 695 ppt for an entire week, projected rating wouldn’t change as the total score increased, because the ratio would be the same. Red t1 is literally not possible for Kain by the end of the week.

What? Maguuma always does terrible over the weekends. We have the same population during the week that we do during the weekends, while everyone else tapirs off… so we’ll see.

Thats funny because everyone else always says DB does horrible on the weekend and picks it up over the weekdays.

I’m a commander from Drgn. The people on that map were so uninterested in hours long keep sieges that it took us hours just to agree on what we needed to do to take the keep. After that it was less than an hour before the keep was down. Part of the problem was that Dragonbrand was satisfied with not having their keep. So you had twice the defenders necessary to hold bay.

Anyway, we agree that open field combat is generally more exciting. But we wanted your keep so we took it regardless of the hours. I read a dev once wrote that taking any keep was supposed to take hours. I had fun in the end logged off as soon as the mesmer sweep was done.

You could have encouraged more open field fighting by taking our tower or coming out of your keep more You guys only came out to take out the trebs, turtling is boring…

The reason FA took the keep in the end was that DB golem rushed east by the way. We gave up on west to stop them at inner. I don’t blame the FA for not wanting to stalemate against our Ele’s for hours, because it could have gone on forever. :p

Ele can transition very well from roamer to zerg support just from a weapon swap. Necro is also really good as a piece added to a group or zerg, but less fun as a roamer. Ranger is… not really hot at either.

FA will solidify a lead as the week starts and has a much larger point base to leech off of from Maguuma. DB doesn’t keep the momentum going after reset/weekend.

I’m really hurt that you don’t put Maguuma in the top tier of forum PvP, Waffler.

Looking forward to t3 next week if Kaineng gets here. They’ll prob. win from their night base, but I think DB/mag can give them trouble.

True. Was simply pointing out that while the picture doesn’t show the full scope (though everyone has to admit that with culling if you see 15, there could very well be another 20 around them) it doesn’t change the zergy nature of the server recently. Which sucks, because the old timer mags never really seemed to have ever wanted that fate and they have my condolences.

Because I’ve looked in on Mag threads ever since our servers faced off and actually had GOOD fights and FUN. (Meaning before last week.)
I actually like you older mags and had a hell of a lot of fun in the earlier matchup.

Besides, I’m taking a break since Kaineg’s got spawncamping zergballs in just about every BL right now so there’s not much point in just continuing to repair when you only make maybe a gold a day doing wuvwuv anyways.

See Mag is nice because when we got to 650 we typically kittened off and waited until it was 580 to start doing things. Kain hits 695 and sets up camp for a week. No fun at all.

I know last night I had a fun 1v1 with a Maguuma necro in FABL while our zergs were fighting eachother around (more accurately above) us by Redvale tower. It’s amazing what a pull and terrain can do for making duels.

Of course, then another 5-8 maguuma poured into the river, so I had to retreat. Was fun anyway.

If you want to do a fight club I’m sure 10+ mag will show up. We love 1v1’s and we’re nice dudes! I think one must already be planned for OG vs FA’s youtube superstars.

Was it really overhyped? For two weeks Maguuma posters were in t3 threads saying we weren’t as big as people think, and for two weeks people kept believing yak’s bend posters (big mistake) that we were some sos 2.0 megaserver.

I think this is a case where people need to pick their sources better.

Maguuma has always been tied with Tarnished Coast in terms of Posting Power. I think Maguuma can take it this week with the help of Dragonbrand and FA. Although they aren’t as skilled in Posting Power, their quantity of posts will combo well with us.

I think you missed my point. the DB that is today is an evolution of the last 6-8 weeks or more. the maguma that is today is an evolution of last week.

We faced you about 4 weeks ago and your numbers are up since then too.

Actually, now that you’re here, I can ask something that’s been confusing me.

Just why did Maguuma get so many transfers?

We were in t4 for a long time, and that’s sort of where you start learning to play as a server. We dropped to t5 after a long stint in t4, and sort of dominated them after the first weekend. Suddenly, we started getting a ton of transfers. Unfortunately we didn’t rank up and had a 2nd week in t5, where we stomped even harder with the new transfers, which got us MORE transfers.

Then up to t4 where we stomped because you jerks in t3 gave us a dead server. Yaks went to every thread saying Maguuma was a superserver t1/t2 bound (don’t trust yaks opinions on numbers ever). The end of free transfers were announced during this period of stomping, which was another wave of people. We made the thread saying get off of Maguuma which probably backfired, despite our efforts to steer people to other recruitment threads.

Surprised to see yaks with that PPT still. Good show guys. Survive the night!

I could’ve swore just a week ago I saw Maguuma, DB and Kaineng holding their heads high and saying “we’ll make it into T1 or T2”, while DB hasn’t waned, Maguuma seem to just bounced back like a rubber band o.o. That’s how it seems in the forums at least.

Wait, who the kitten from Maguuma ever said t1/t2? Every core Maguuma player didn’t even want t3. These past few days we’ve been dreading how close we get to t2. The threads/posts we’ve been making aren’t a joke – we sincerely do not want the transfers we got in t5, and this reset is an example of why.

Our predictions are holding true, though. We knew we’d hit a wall here, and hope it either wakes up our new guys or gets them to leave. Keep pounding us up to the 28th, because it’ll help us sort out things.

FA likes that when we get stomped we keep logging in and trying with clever little things. Maguuma likes that out of the servers that did stomp up, FA was the only one that used actual strategy, so we learned a lot from whenever they beat us.

I agree. Maguuma is really rude + lewd and I’m eager to transfer off before the 28th. I encourage everyone to do the same, because it’ll be a ghost town soon.
