I reeeeally want BG, SoR, or Kaineng back in the mix. It’s really lame when the maps are solid green and the only way to get fights is to hang out near spawns.

People making jokes in a videogame or explaining to a random new commander who decides to step into wvw for the first time what they could have done better don’t seem all that terrible to me. I don’t know what specifically you’re referring to, though.

A lot of people I rarely see in-game seem to have complaints about their own server. (Used to see you a lot Ninein, but it’s been quite a while).

“People making jokes” is like the polar opposite of reality. I have not seen these same trolls trying to explain anything. It’s either “bad commander you suck” or “get off our server you suck” kind of thing. Anyways I used to put way too much time into WvW and got to see these things so I’m airing dirty laundry in hopes that these clowns don’t end up running everyone out of WvW but you never know.

Maybe you should name names because I haven’t seen any /m or /t insulting new commanders.

You guys are doing worse against the T3 folks than Yak’s did against T3, yet you cleaned up against Yak’s. Logically, that does not compute unless you are tanking on purpose; Or, of course, have the fair-weather players that only log into WvWvW if you are winning or are close to it.

Fair enough. I would just hate to continue to see Mag and Yak’s ping-ponging back and forth bewteen T3 and T4 every week.

It only makes sense that that’s what happens. yaks/db/mag have roughly the same NA coverage, but have never been able to settle into their own tier. The only reason DB doesn’t juggle like we do is the SEA coverage. Maybe SoS will change things when they go below t2.

The answer is no, we are not intentionally tanking. We do as well as DB in the daytime, but DB have the SEA timezone to get points in. TC just have a much, much, much larger NA force. Larger than FA for sure.

This game’s WvW system is designed for zerg combat. Like it or not, until some changes are put in place, it is going to be about who has more players. This whole thing about our open field skills compared to your is comical. We have been in T2 for a long time, and trust me, Mag isn’t even close to the skills we have faced. I doubt you will get the response on the forums you are looking for. Most of us find these attacks rather funny.

I don’t know how to break it to you, but higher tiers has no skill increase at all. Higher tiers = larger fights, more frequent fights. That’s about it.

The duels I’ve seen were at DB south south, and I usually check there.

I don’t even know where the Don’t Give Up stuff is coming from. I logged in right now at prime time sunday… and this is our usual prime time sunday numbers. We are just having to put every single body into one map to get anything against the waves of TC sitting in 100% BL’s.

TC has easily 2-3x our active WvW pop every day, and when you’re combining that with a massive defender’s advantage, +100 ppt is totally normal.

“Not giving up” means making large zergballs and shooting a keep with siege for 3 hours. This is another disconnect between what two servers enjoy. Score is meaningless, fights are what matters. TC is terrible at giving fights because of their waves of bodies.

Most of the enjoyment has come from the fight clubs that are running most of the time. I was surprised to see ONI on TC, they are very nice/fun guys to duel from IoJ.

We might not like t3, but Mag is way too big for t4. The ideal scenario is shrinking magically overnight and going back to t4 until the end of time, but the realistic scenario is db/mag/yb.

Mag is bigger than Yaks and they’ll be the first to tell you that. The only way Yaks get in t3 in any stable sense would be if SoS drops below t3.

T2 doesn’t have any tricks we haven’t seen tbh. Higher tiers = more numbers.

We are exactly the same as when we left T3 weeks ago. A mindless zerg of role-players. We have no skills and we are easily distracted by pretty colors. None of our guilds are serious WvW players. Tell all of your friends and spread the word.

It wasn’t really a stomp, because that would imply effort. We played like 1/2 as much as we normally do and still won somehow. DB would probably do the same. We’re zerg servers now!

No one is mad, I was just correcting a guy who said that no one is throwing. Kaineng posters seem to think they themselves are throwing, so why don’t you?

Kinda overgeneralizing don’t you think so? That’s like saying all of maguuma threw the match to be in t4 with ehmry bay. :p

A significant portion of Mag did. Kaineng is being as open about it as we were in our t3 thread. There’s no need for all of a server to throw for it to work.

A simpler solution that’s more fair to everyone would be for points per tick to be worth progressively less for continuous control.

Ex: you take a tower, during the first hour each tick gives you 10 points. If you still hold it then the next hour each tick only gives you 8 points. 3rd hour ticks give 5, after 4 hours of uninterrupted control the tower no longer gives points.

This means you don’t keep earning points during empty periods yet no timezone is penalized.

Wouldn’t this make the stale tiers even more stale with artificially closer score to go along with ultra deadlocking math??

Mag has been calling itself a zerg server for like a month.

The whole argument is dancing around the fact that 25 mans were already not putting up orange swords by virtue of not being idiots. However, the 5 limit was a golem meta inhibitor. It was effectively only in place to show unorganized zergs and when they were using more than x number of golems.

The increase to 25 is a gigantic buff to the golem meta. The only real change, since organized zergs still won’t put up swords even if they’re 50 strong, is that the golem buffer they have before orange swords just went up to an insane number.

I feel like anet isn’t paying attention to the stupid golem game that requires stationary scouts, which is just not fun. Lower it from 25.

I think 10 would be a much better number. I get that they’re trying to make small mans able to do whatever so they roam in those numbers, but that’s discounting servers/groups that can just tell people to not attack. In reality, that orange swords is a limiter on something more sinister, which is a golem and scouting meta.

I feel like people are forgetting to trait for confusion on blind here when listing how it can be abused.

For the record, our bark against TC is that we will out roleplay you any time. Looking forward to your best roleplay attempts.

I hope Tarnished Coast is prepared for the roleplay of their life in t3. Maguuma is going to prove we’re the #1 (e)RP server.

Shatter mesmers are dealt with like any glass cannon. Dodge their burst, cc, kill. Easy peasy.

Just because their aoe nature means they can shatter down multiple people at once doesnt make it OP.

I don’t know if you’re complaining about confusion or glamour. Glamour is a very specific spec and sacrifices a lot of survivability by offensively tossing utilities that can potentially do zero damage.

I keep seeing condition mesmers confused for glamour and they’re completely different.

There is no way they would be able to merge some of the lower tier servers because of their PvE numbers. SF is one of those servers that has a ton more PvE players than WvW. I think GoM is another server like this…which is good when you are looking for people to run dungeons and Fractals.

Sure they can. They remove the server and when they log on they have a server selection screen with 1 free transfer ready to go. I guess less of a server merge and more of a subsidized eviction?

Fixing t8 means either removing 3 servers via forced server merge or forced migration from other servers to t8. There are no NA servers in the game that match against FC/ET population wise.

The math is one issue that needs to be fixed, but that wouldn’t fix the fact that there’s 2 very small wvw servers in a system that fits 3 servers toa tier.
