I support this. I’ve had 90% of my posts in our string of matchup threads removed, and I think each one of them would have encouraged DB/FA to log on and kill more Maguumans. I’m actually helping Anet keep their activity rate up.

We would be green in a yaks/cd match, and win by about 30%, but it wouldn’t be a win worthy of knocking us to t3.

A major factor in us crushing t4 was that IoJ didn’t exist, and yaks had no night time at all. If CD was there, the night time would go bye bye, and the 100-150 ppt from owning IoJ’s lifeless BL would also be gone.

I’m advocating nothing beyond that match not being representative of a real match at all.

It’s ok, Mesmer already has the most overpowered and game breaking skills in WvW. ANet obviously has no intentions of ever bringing the class back in line with the others.

Confusion is easily dealt with, just need people to run a little support with condition removal, not hard just everyone wants to do LEET DEEPZ.

What is a problem:
- Time Warp effects siege in WvW.
- Portal even post nerf is still required on the field to be even remotely effective compared to a team without a Mesmer running it.
- Veil can stealth an ENTIRE SERVER with absolutely no internal cooldown or “revealed” debuff like with other forms of stealth.

All three of those points are intentionally hyperbolic or factually incorrect. Either way, you should try not kittenting up every thread with your personal vendetta.

Basically in pure power level measurements, I think kitten is the strongest guild currently in existence. We routinely train ourselves to reach the super saiyan state. On the average prime time feast, we’re going SSJ3 or higher.

You guys beat Yaks by 414,000 points last time. Even in an absolutely worst case scenario you would likely still beat Yaks opponents by 100k or more.

If you want fights…Tier 3 is where its at for you.

Yaks literally decided to not log on after the reset, so I don’t know if that’s a totally representative score.

Our population has quieted down a lot since t3. We had hours of 4 queue reset, and we get maybe 2 for an hour now. We were doing 2 queue weekday prime times and we get none now that I’ve seen.

As long as the guys that haven’t shown up for a month stay away we’re t4 pop now.

One of the benefits of the volatile era of the ladder (the first 4-5 months?) was that it gave the illusion of progress by frequent tier shifts up and down. It’s a common thing in games to design it so the player is almost guaranteed a “win” every now and then to keep interest.

It also gives servers that have been green for a while something to work toward, because they see how far they have to go when they shoot up. It’s just as boring to be a green for a month. If there could be a large amount of volatility for consecutive wins/losses, I think this could be accomplished.

Of course the outliers are the tippy top of servers and the very bottom. I don’t think any system can solve for that, though. In the case of GW2, the bottom tier of US/EU should probably be merged with other servers sadly. Their population is very unlikely to increase short of giving free transfers, but that would only make things potentially worse.

Change the math so it’s easier to change tiers after consecutive wins/losses. Stable tiers sound good on paper, but they’re pretty boring in practice.

I also wouldn’t mind the removal of the us/eu wall, merging all servers into a global ladder based on seasons, and a change in the way servers handle pop caps based on current activity but let’s start small!

Maguuma is made up of many different people with many different opinions. Right now there are 4 T2 servers. I, personally, would like to be in a tier that’s an even matchup. I don’t care about being in a higher tier because it seems like the higher tiers are lazier.

This is an interesting comment, because most people in T2 are of the impression that there’s five T1 servers right now. There is also a lot less complaining about it in T2 but what do I know, I’m a roleplayer.

There’s less complaining because TC has been a mass recruiting server since the 2nd month of the game. You’re a magnet for people that enjoy massive amounts of people. Maguuma and other t4’s really hate this kind of combat and want to get back to mid scale.

Just a shout-out to all of you awesome maguumans and the couple of brave FAs that participated in the massive dueling club in south FA borderlands this past night. That was a load of fun, and I enjoyed testing out my build against some truly skilled players.

Everyone I know on Mag uses their roaming build in fight club. If you like running into 1v1’s in the field, it’s like a concentration of 1v1 roaming fights.

This match is much more one sided than the last time we met. I wish people’s philosophy was to play for points. Otherwise why not have a ‘see who can kill the most dead stuff the fastest in Orr’ track meet. But that is the way of things. There will always be bad apples.

There’s also a CAL guardian on mag bl that’s teleporting about 5000-6000 units multiple times around NE camp. Teleports at low hp, comes back when full, repeats forever.

It’s not hacking. There’s more than one PvE item that can perma stun or knockback.

30-40 RE came and stood in a line. We tried prodding them with pulls to come fight at the other 3-4 spots, but they wouldn’t bite. After being pulled a couple dozen times, they started attacking, so we started killing. It turned into a full brawl until RE took their ball and went home.

RE your lining up system is dumb. Just send people to the 4-5 usual spots and do the normal way so we can actually get fights without resorting to bombing your line.

I love my Ehmy Bay brothers, but they were handling that fight wrong from the beginning, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just their randoms.

Maguuma will show respect to our next competitors by doing as much PvE and windmill dueling as possible. Sorry t8 buddies, we don’t want to hurt you but Anet is making us.

Let me break down the “double teaming” that went on for Kaineng.

On Eternal If you take Stonemist, you you will be double teamed. It takes so much resources to hold it, that both DB and Mag should be carving up Kain’s holdings until it changes hands, which is what both servers did. This is basic WvW pushing strategy.

On DB borderland we didn’t have a queue for most of the night, so the guys there just stayed in their lane mostly and didn’t encounter much trouble. Beat Kaineng back when they broke lanes from south and pushed into DB’s north tower.

On Mag BL we got pushed from DB and Kain all night long which is normal. That’s how home borderland defend works – you will be left with your garrison, north camp, and maybe 2 towers if you’re good.

On Kain BL Mag pushed their lane and DB pushed theirs, which is normal for attackers on enemy borderlands. Mag grabbed their lane + west tower + your garrison. DB pushed into Kain’s Garrison the rest of the night while Mag owned it, and we weren’t upset because that’s the normal pushing path.

The comments I made on reset about DB “not breaking lanes and we’ll have a nice week” isn’t refering to them going with a preset strategy, it was just saying that if we stick with Baby’s First Pushing Path, we’d hold our high scores because Kaineng couldn’t deal with the basic defense.

I also like when countries pass laws that they literally have no way to enforce.

That video is awesome. From the looks of it, in order to beat a WM zerg all you need is a couple people aoeing while moving left or right, dodging the zergball.

That’s how we’ve been beating them the few times they showed up on borderlands at 4am too. WM can deny it as much as they want, but they are 100% reliant on culling and killing before they’ve ever rendered. If you have them all visible for even a little bit, just spread out and you’re fine.

That’s why Mag is so insistent that they’re bots, because we find it hard to believe that the guys who were great in gw1 were reduced to this level of play. Other Kain’s think the bot accusations are because we keep dying to WM, but it’s because we expected “the best” and were not given it.

While queues are not fun, if you are someone who has recently transferred to a tier 1 or tier 2 server, you have no room to complain. Servers in those tiers have pretty good 24/7 coverage and of course you will run into longer queues than a lower ranked server.

I started on YB then i learned wvw in CD now I am on Kaineng. I love all these servers. But about wvw Kaineng just gathered the most potential by far. Happy I joined them in their T6 fight.

Reset is when we all have even populations. It’s the only time this week mag/db/kain will have the same number of people on roughly. Kaineng lost that time period handily. That’s why we say you are carried by oceanics.

I don’t want this thread to drop. Are pop caps decreased across the board? I really don’t care if they are, but it would be nice to know so we can change how we defend.

Amidst all the finger pointing, I should like to point out that on reset night in the Kain BL, it wasn’t the fact that we were double-teamed that annoyed us. It was the fact that a bug in map queue kept our numbers much lower than those of the other two servers. That’s right. The mighty Kaineng zerg was reduced to 60-70 ppl max against at least twice that number. When DB took Fog and seiged it up while around the same time attacking the northeast tower with no less than 6 trebs, while Mag kept taking our supply camps in the north and west, we knew we were done for. It was my honor (?) to engage DB forces multiple times and by their highly skilled and tenacious fighting, I am now thinking DB is worse than Devona ever was.

This is another post assuming the same isn’t true of us. We have the same thing going on for our home BL all week, we just haven’t been posting about it all willy nilly!

Did it ever occur to you that mag/db non-reset primetimes are not equal to our reset primetime? Do you really think we push 4 queue maps every night? Do you understand what the defender’s advantage is in WvW? You’re being dishonest with yourself.

Some serious underrating of mesmers’ combat ability in this thread. Support class my kitten. Sounds like some groups don’t know how to use mesmer bombs well. They’re the highest burst class in the game while keeping insanely high survivability.

More than that, t1/t2 don’t mean much right now. Not even Kaineng can twist Ehmry bay/Sorrow’s Furnace into being a real t1. Until things get back to some semblance of normalcy, it’ll be pretty empty.
