Even with this new arena coming in, GvG scene in NA went from extremely active to more or less non existent after the orb buffs – those are more less negligible now, but don’t really see any active GvGs happening regularly like they use to.
I think there are only a handful of guilds that actually GvG and pursue competition and lots of guilds that will probably only GvG guilds they know they can beat.
As someone on one of the bigger GvG servers, I don’t see this at all. Each gold league match I’ve seen 4 or 5 GvG’s a week between the three servers, and all of the native Maguuma gvg guilds (Ark, PYRO, VR) doing weekly GvG’s. That’s about the same amount we saw per week before the orbs.
Like Jericho said before, they just aren’t being submitted to gw2gvg as official at the moment.
Also @Ogre I’d like to see some Ark vs AGG, PYRO vs EP, and maybe one of the EP vs Agg rematches.
Goodjob Sor and Mag.. really glad to see and hear about another group of skilled guilds and players like those on Mag are laughing and realizing how weak BG is.
Also we have 2 GvG’s so far this week with SoR but none with BG. Would hate to not get one with BG after doing so much PPT just to get into Gold so we could play against T1 guilds.
A lot of BG guilds do not do GvG, they prefer unstaged open field fights. Your best luck would be PLX or maybe OnS on Thursday or Friday when the score is determined.
Score was determined on reset, you don’t need a margin in leagues just to be 1st.
Against Mag yes, but we don’t want to underestimate SoR or any T1 servers and will only consider the score is determined when a clear victory is guaranteed against them.
Oh please, you know as well as the rest of us that you can take SoR in a ppt race. When it comes to holding SoR’s garrison tho ur on equal footing.
Maybe to you who are not familiar with T1 fights. Just in the second week since League starts BG came back from an almost 20k deficit on the weekend. And before that happened, many people also believed that SoR was surely going to win the ppt race in that week.
If you are interested I can give you several more examples of a perceived weaker T1 server came back from a big deficit and actually took the win, some times even on the last day.

I fought an oPP thief last night on Mag BL he hit like a wet noodle and then stealthed away. Couldn’t be bothered to chase him. I know all your blobs run PVT gear but do your roamings groups run PVT aswell?
Based on your description you ran into our troll thief and fearless leader, and yes he can run into a zerg and survive but he can also whittle you down in a prolonged fight.

I’ve heard blackgate has some decent roamers. I’m hoping that turns out to be true.
The rumors are true. Opp and Riot guild specially have some great solo and small group roamers. I don’t like to represent any guild when I roam but be careful of a bumblebee Asura Ele you might encounter.
All i see from a lot of posters is poor attempts to denigrate my guilds and our sister guilds on TC. If you think you’re so good, please come out and fight us. We have people rolling out there almost every night, some raids, some roaming, some havocking.
Step up. I want to see what you can do. We won’t be scared away. You rock us? Good on you, bad on us- but we will win in the end. We on TC are hard-headed. TC at its core won’t give up, can you say the same?

For a server that pushed for gold, at least 75% of those that pushed haven’t touched his league hardly at all other than reset. Did you all get your achievements and decide to quit, which is quickly becoming the MO for baguuma? Or did you just want gold because the Pvf is better? Thanks for ruining WvW for 7 weeks morons.

Also, amazing that we get queues on weekday NA prime when apparently 75% of our playerbase doesn’t log on.
It would be much better if they made platinum league with JQ/SOR and BG and gold league with TC/FA/SoS/MAG/SBI +X.
No one enjoys fighting top tier servers.

Silver: EB/BP/CD/DB/IoJ/NSP

(Possible Switch in Bronze and Iron, Idk those server numbers anymore)

The bottom 3 cant have even fights except between each other, and same with the top 3.
2 of those leagues would play the same servers for 7 weeks straight… Wasn’t that one of the complaints for moving to the Seasons in the first place?
I don’t think tier 1 really cares about the same opponents. The bottom one would suck, though.

Apparently JQ played it almost evenly (slightly more against Mag, probably all from Monday) and SoS and Maguuma focused more on each other than JQ.
Let’s see if we can work on this in two weeks. SoS and Mag have the highest RNG compatibility in all of WvW so we will see each other when the league is over and can get back to bashing each other then (unless it’s SBI, in which case we’ll both beat them up on principle).
The thing with sites like that is there’s zero way for it to show where bodies are allocated because it assumes all objectives take equal effort.
example: mag bl and jq bl are queued all NA, but a 15-20 man on SoS BL takes equal or more objectives for mag.
In the same situation, SoS could have queues pounding against JQ at night, but a 20 man sent to mag BL would yield more objectives. Outside of Anet providing an API that shows current queue data (bodies per map from each server) then it’s kind of worthless for determining effort exerted.
I always lose interest in playing a few days into the match after it becomes clear there’s no one worth roaming around to find. I know it’s better overall to be in gold league, but I do miss EB.

Not sure that is accurate. GF seemed to have lost some of their better players in the transfer.
That’s what I said. He misses Ebay roamers, and most of the good ones were GF now TC. So Ebay might not be as fun for roaming now~

Mag likes to say “zergbusting” when we know we are outnumbering a group and that it’s just not a fair fight for them. JQ likes to actual internalize that as a win and then post about it. T1 #1 #t1
SBI would have won Silver if FA wasn’t in the league. SBI beat Mag (pretty easily in coverage) two weeks prior to the start of the WvW season. I have no idea what SoS would have done in Silver but I have a feeling it would have been at the challenge level of Mag or probably even lower based on how well they are doing in Gold. To my knowledge, SBI didn’t gain anything and Mag didn’t lose anything last day pre-league announcement so the WvW populations would have been the same.
That’s not to say SBI doesn’t need an kitten kickin’ every once in a while to keep people motivated. It’s a blessing since a single rival WvW world brings community focus on a common goal as oppose to the blob-wins in weeks prior.
Also, do not believe the Mag hype. They do not have the skillz necessary to beat any server with superior coverage. Mag’s skillz revolves around havoc squad/tower ninja for PPT and that’s not going to win anything in Gold League or Silver League. It actually only encourages the flip/karma-training/blob issue of kitten. In T1, that ‘strategy’ does not work ever…been there, done that.
/shrug – Mag has already realized the error on their part but is going through the 5-steps. There is not much more to say here as the trollz will be out in force claiming some other reason but knowing it is true.

Tonight was awesome. I guess some of it was because a lot of folks on Maguuma decided to focus on TC and we did the same; but that’s how this kind of match should be played. (Did I mention how glad I am that it was Maguuma and not FA or SBI that made gold?)
If only SoS 60 man didn’t karma train us during oceanic, that double team would be a little better.
Hey now, the rest of Mag would have made the first move if we knew it was time. Isn’t the best part of GvG the guaranteed brawl at the end? Kind of sad Agg left what was going to be a fun 3 way.
I’d rather get slaughtered for weeks facing t1 than linger in t3. I can’t stress how little happens there. mon-fri there’s no action for mag except for 2 hours a night, and we have more people at those times anyway.
I’ve tried inviting like 5-6 Tc to party during or after a fight with good intentions and they just refuse outright. Mag are nice people please accept !

You guys got into a 3 way SM where you could actually choose to pvp? Must have been lucky, I was struggling for 1 to go off the only time we tried a 3 way SM.
