I’ve tried to roam 5 times since reset and stopped after constantly running into groups as a necro. If you’re on a t2 server and wonder why the t3’s popping in don’t have roamers that’s why!

I still roamed when it was TC vs the T1 servers… it was duo roaming with a guard pal of mine vs solo in T2 though (I main Eng atm).

I’ve had so many occasions this week when 2+ mag’s have ran from just me. Idk if they presumed more were coming or what… but this was pretty uncommon before.

Seems like the general population has changed playstyles to the generic run until you massively outnumber your enemy, run inside the keep/tower/whatever, everyone in gw2 just seems to want to run, run, run. I miss the days when people were down to fight 1vX…

I guess this game just rewards bigger numbers far too much. : /

Set up a fight club if you want 1v1, because I’m not going to run around for an hour on a terrible roaming class for the chance I don’t get a 10 man camp group running me over.

It depends if the article about 4×6 leagues was right, or devon’s 2×12 leagues is right in regards to NA. If it’s 2 leagues of 12 servers… that’s more variation than right now so almost pointless to transfer. I hope it’s 4 leagues of 6 for NA.

RE: 7 week matches.

Silver lining is that it makes transferring to GvG focused tiers a bit easier. More reliable to transfer to find competition and it not murder your pocket. Transfer costs weekly is rough, but 7 weeks is tolerable.

The complaints in this thread are all stemming from DB complaining about Agg + 2-3 other guilds on your BL each night. If that’s something DB doesn’t like (judging by this weeks thread!) then maybe change how many you bring yourself.

Any guild in the game would bring more than 30 against a queued server that likes to stick together.

They should put a ring around the area we do it in now that will remove the world buffs while they sorting out something for GvG.

Eternal JP will probably not have buffs in it and has a nice area to the north of the entrance on the ground floor. Doesn’t take queue spots, and spectators get a nice view on the floor above it completely out of the way.

I don’t know how you can be offended by 50 people when you have a queued map.

Of the top 9 servers, we’re the only one with High population and no night time presence. We love GvG’s and want to keep pulling t2 servers.

If you’re an oceanic or SEA guild and want to get into the fighting part of GW2, you’ll get your shot here. We likely will never get a week where we have the strongest oceanic/SEA unless we pull two servers below rank 9.

I won the game several times when I was on Blackgate and got no fancy rewards for my troubles. I prefer fun fights now. When people get really srs about ppt, I tend to get spooked and xfer to a much more relaxing atmosphere where I can sit back, relax, and make people cry! Probably why I move servers so much, idk.

Every single person that has talked about transfering is asking for people to go to server they’re facing, not their own. That seems fine to me.

NA is shaping up to having a centralized area for GvG around the t2/t3 area, and those two servers are the only ones lacking guilds at the moment.

You should probably stop defending AGG all together. They’re probably going to be off your server in another week or 2 and you’ll feel the same way we do towards them.

This will be their 5th or 6th server hop in 3 months.

Also every time we stopped and stacked last night before we engaged into a battle we had no more than 35 on a pin. 35 maybe 40 going against 25-30 AGG and another 35+ mixed Pyro/Derp/VR zerg.

But hey, enough member measuring, lets do it again tonight. It was a blast.

I think everyone on Mag knows Agg will transfer at some point, but I don’t know why that means we should hate them?? I dunno I’ve only had positive experiences with them joking around a lot in /t.

We have people of all ages playing, but I get the impression that BP does have a higher percentage of older people playing. Part of that comes simply from every conversation not being 14 year boy trash talk, but for other reasons as well.

I have been defending the BL on more than one evening when the topics of conversation have been the kids high school (or even college) graduations, second marriages, vacation properties, bad backs, bad knees and the general annoyance of not being able to punish one’s body like you can in your twenties without paying for it.

I for one would love to see a debate between YB and BP on who is the more mature server! Please commence!

I couldn’t give two craps about beating a server with higher ranking. I am still playing this game for one reason: fights. The PPT game is old and worn out. It’s you guys that actually care about PPT, not me. Beating a server with higher ranking doesn’t even mean anything except that the other server’s coverage is in flux. So the former. I would love to see the former.

So you will beat your chest all night about beating a server that is a full tier and a combined 9 ranks below its opponents, but you don’t care about PPT.

I think the fact that you can’t actually beat ANYONE who is ranked higher than you leads to your disdain of PPT far more than any love of a good fight. I mean, how good a fight can the doors put up anyway?

The rest of your talk about ranking just indicates that you have little to no understanding about the ranking system. I don’t even like Ehmry, but they are a far, far better server than you are skill-wise.

Ehmry has skill? That’s news to me. Maybe the old Ehmry does but this current one has a bunch of fairweathers and people who complain about tower hugging.

Okay fine, old Ehmry. I haven’t really seen them in awhile. The main point is that in the end, the “winner” is determined almost purely by coverage. It has nothing to do with skill. Only when coverage is near equal does it matter, that happens approximately never. At least for Maguuma.

Good fights kitten , PYRO, BURN, and BUTT. rb+ pugs was about 36 or less when we started. Worked up to abour 25ish rB and 15-20 pugs. Vids will be up eventually I assume. Dat mag zerg.
Also have been collecting whispers from Team AGG WvW police, will have guidelines and regulations as per jericho up when I get some time. Real life and all that jaz.

Are you running tagless? I legit felt bad about us having to double guild you, but most are running 20-30, so if 50-60 appear it’s kind of a fight killer.

DB if you didnt run 60-70 deep, we wouldn’t be triple teaming you. Consider doing 30 maybe!

I’d like to talk about dividing the ladder.

There’s some disputes about what “size” is best for GvG’s, and honestly they all have different things going for them. The problem comes when a 15v15 based group doesn’t want to do 10v10 (very common) because it affects the ranks for all sizes.

If it’s divided, that sense of ranking protection should calm a bit if a guild could be #1 20v20 but #5 in 10v10. They would still be the best in their category of choice while still being able to branch out.

This seems like the only choice if the scene wants to support all sizes rather than morph into one blob. One size of GvG’s would ultimately be a mistake and lead to unneeded exclusion of many guilds.

Oh, I know. Mag also has more people round the clock then we do. We get evenly matched during the prime time, and thats honestly when things are the most interesting, but Borlis more often has to fight outmanned. its how we’ve gotten so high up already. I remember the first time we met SBI back in June. We would be outmanned in eternal 24/7.

I would not say “siege is a crutch”. Its more a “force multiplyer”. And honestly, all of us have gotten really good at placing Arrow Carts and trebuchets inside keeps and towers.

You posted that your strategy for contending with Maguuma was upgrades/siege. I’m saying that basing any strategy on upgrades/siege is a crutch, because you’re relying on not facing night time servers, and you definitely will fight them.

Unless you want to go the t1/t2 route and call recruiting a skill, then it’s something to think about!

Mag also has no upgrades or siege every morning. It’s something to get used to if you face any t3 or t2 server. Upgrades/siege are crutches.

I guess Mag’s unemployed zerg is bigger than BP’s for weekdays.

It’s a mistake to aim a game toward being thematically correct at the cost of, you know, fun.

I agree with this post largely. I’ve said before that all siege except rams/cat apults should be removed. That’s a half joking remark, but mainly is because the fun of WvW isn’t in siege warfare.

Some of the worst burnouts we’ve had on Mag were facing servers that used heavy siege to the point where anything you attack would require 2-3 HOURS for you to get any fight at all. The game mode revolves around getting actual combat, and Carts are the main offender in preventing fights from ever happening.
