I think people have skewed perspectives because of mags score vs FA, and didn’t know how hard we were tryharding for PPT.

I think FA can win the week, depends how often they come out to fight. Honestly though, FA really only needs to put in efforts weeks against SBI. The rest will be easy.

These new players are all from PvE running full zerkers that refuse to listen to commanders and just want their achievements done.

Getting them wiped a few times is probably the best thing to do in order to make them understand WvW is not PvE.

Zerker works fine for most professions in open field.

Maybe 2% of the people that were pushing in the last 24 hours live in the oceanic timezone. After FA pushed back on Wed night/thurs morning, everyone that wanted gold decided not to sleep.

Even knowing most of the server wanted it, I was still surprised to see how many stayed up for it. Now we can all go on ppt-vacation for a few months.

Win or lose that last place for Gold league, SBI still has its momentum and is moving its server rank upwards this week (thanks to the FA fallout) and its the same reason that Mag may end up in the NA high-tier league (despite one forum warrior’s claim of superiority). SBI probably just ran out of time to make it to the last spot and drew a “lucky” match up against SoR while FA fell down (see my post last week – heh).

There is always season 2. And despite the forum warriors, SBI beat Mag hard last week and it wasn’t all in just PPT.

But this week is not over yet…Mag better keep working for it.

Maybe you should tell your own server it’s not over, because your forums are already calling it and planning to recruit from the top of silver.

I know that many people are not looking forward to a potential match-up vs. the zerg servers with far better numbers for their WvW populations. Anyone that does not realize that gold tier will be dominated by JQ, SoR, and Blackgate are fooling themselves. I may go out a little, but I will not be hour after hour just getting annihilated by the sheer volume of numbers. No thanks.

Oh yeah, and thank you to the commanders on Maguuma that had the nerve to say I am worthless just because I am a realist in wanting to have better match-ups in silver over gold. Every time one of you open your mouth, you make me regret that I moved here after you all sold me and my friends oceanfront property in Kansas.

I can’t imagine what made you transfer to Mag that isn’t consistent with us wanting to fight stronger servers. Did you come for karma trains?

The last few weeks, we have faced Ebay, BP, CD, SoS and SBI. SoS and SBI PLANTED us. We didn’t beat either one. Ebay was great thru most of the week, I personally know the competition on BP (and they are good), and CD is pushing pretty good still, even though they are down in this current matchup. Mags is in a weird spot population-wise that will get us completely dominated against gold and will dominate almost 1/2 of silver. If I have to choose getting my kitten kicked constantly against 3-1 / 4-1 odds or winning, sorry, but I choose winning.

Just for the record, the guild I am in and I switched to maguuma as we were tired of the egos on BP. Maguuma is karma train after karma train after karma train. That isnt winning, that isnt fighting, that is just running with the pack accomplishing no long term benefits.

Yeah, I totally disagree with wanting to face BP, Ebay, and CD. Ebay barely has players at all during the week, and they just lost GF to TC. Then we get to face Kain, NSP, and Yaks. Those will be ghost towns during the week too.

If you don’t want gold, then don’t help.

If you want to stay in Silver League transfer to Crystal Desert. Our match up with Borlis pass and IOJ was possibly one of the best match ups in wvw history (IMO). We can have more of that hopefully…

SBI deserves full value for the win. They played for the ppt and the results show. Not sure what the issue is here, why try to troll a server playing the game how it was designed?

Seems like a silly question. No one respects a bandwagon, specially one created to dominate silver league, so you get trolled. Not sure why that is not expected as I am sure there are a bunch on your server that trolled Kaineng.

We actually never fought Kain. We were falling so hard, and they were rising so fast, we skipped each other. xD

But still. SBI goes to win this matchup (apparently we played for PPT as hard as possible) and continues to strive for the Gold league, and we are still told that we are stacking for silver league. xD

I will add Mag to the list of servers that are all waiting for us to get stomped. BP is waiting, IoJ is waiting, YB is waiting. Now we shall add you to the list. And when we don’t implode in a losing fight, I will watch everyone slink back to their own matchup threads. xD

Idk there’s not much curiosity. You’ll lose to TC, settle as 5th. I don’t think people care about you getting stomped, it’s just fun to talk trash to bandwagon servers. We did it to Kain, DB as well.

We used to make fun of TC a lot, but they luckily mellowed out and stopped being siege-hungry tower sitters. Now they’re the most fun server we fight after they fought t1 a lot and a chunk of their population realized PPT doesn’t mean anything.

I see SBI going one of two ways: either you fizzle out your fairweathers when the reality of PPT being meaningless hits and the slow transfer trickle begins, or your guilds start playing for PvP like TC started to do.

I would have hoped SBI would learned that this is all ~a video game~

So all trash talk aside, my take on these 2 servers

Magumma: To be honest mag has some good blobbing guilds, had some good gvg’s and fights with VR and Ark (before they got interrupted) They also have some decent roamers in Aon even though you guys tend to run in groups far larger then a typical roaming group ( apart from Aon all the mag roaming guilds are terrible, just look at swag lolololol)

FA: Has by far the worst player skill per player of any server ive faced (and i think ive faced everyone but T1 at this point.) Just awful on every level, from large group to small man to solo. I dont think FA is tanking this matchup i just think there so terribad that when they cant zerg down another group 3 to 1 they just get crushed

Yak’s Bend. FA is terrible, but I have yet to see another server as sad as YB.

Those guys who tried to hit mag keeps a couple hours ago and didn’t even destroy any of the siege on outer when their golems broke in before they threw themselves at inner.

That was pretty much the point I was trying to make in my above post. I roamed a lot in Mag and SBI BL this week. SBI was responsive to attacks from FA with fairly accurate numbers. 5 guys attacking a keep? Send 10 guys, problem solved. Mag on the other hand, 5 guys attacking a keep? Waypoint in 40 guys, while SBI ransacks FA BL and steals all the points.

When you send 40 guys to stop a havoc from poking at your towers and keeps, your being trolled. Camping FA border with 20+ to stop 5 guys who you think are trying to get out? Do you really think they are trying to get out or do you think they are bag trading with your to keep you militia tied up from doing more productive things?

Like I said, I applaud the valiant defensive effort but the strategy is flawed and it makes you look like a wannabe TC Jr.

Yeah Mag basically has Mag BL queued at all hours. It’s the only way we can defend against skill groups like TE/Abys.

Mag, I liked you guys better when you weren’t a trying to be PPT nubs. Nice job keeping your WPs in your BL pretty much all week but to be honest, that is probably why you lost. You guys were zerging your BL hard when there was nothing there for you to take. If you wanna win, you gotta be more offensive. If you make it to Gold league, you will notice why pumping so much gold and effort into something is mostly a fruitless effort. I applaud the effort, but I would rather fight the old Maguuma that I could get good skirmishes against more consistently.

Mag has always been a server that focused Mag bl over everything else, except when we face TC or tier 1. Nothing has changed…

As for not winning, our main wvw guilds (VR, Pyro, Ark) want to get into gold league just for the fights. We don’t care about winning, we know we will be crushed. Anyways, SBI has the points advantage mainly because of off hour coverage.

DB is only having a bit of shell-shock. You can still queue a map in NA prime, and your SEA is still enough to autowin anything in t4. You guys will be t3.

It used to be t3 was the active sweet-spot for action, but the toxic t1 recruitment meta has worn away at every single tier lower than them. Mag might be the most frequent t3/t4 in history, and it’s night and day how dead those brackets are now. Every guild you think of that you used to fight in t3/t4 has been recruited by a higher tier server. Even the bad ones that were just bulks of numbers were bought out in the search for PPT.

Actually SBI is equally as guilty when they’re doing the same thing to the sub-t5 tiers. How many months/years until there’s only 6 servers with action left?

Maguumans, look; you’re definitely not bad. You got some great GvG players and you got a lot of spirit.
I actually wouldn’t worry about you guys getting “broken” morale-wise if you do go into Gold.

However, you are going to have a very humbling reality check on where you really stand if you do. You are going to find how far your NA really is from T1 quality and quantity.

You are going to get rolled by any T1 server and the sooner you realize it the better off you’ll be and you can make the best of it.

It’s hilarious if you think Mag doesn’t know we’ll lose every match in gold. Of course we will. We’re one of the least winning servers in the game – check the medal thread to see.

Yes, if we get into gold, we probably will stop emphasizing PPT. Our goal of getting into gold isn’t putting points on a board, it’s logging on every day and fighting larger forces. Something we’ve done against every t2 server when we get an up roll.

Every t3 server we fight is mind-numbingly boring. They get points at night, we get points during the day. All the while very few fights actually happen. I don’t know if SBI would be different, but even if it was, t2/t1 servers will bring us guaranteed fights rather than “Boy I hope we roll good this week!”.
