that’s probably because all your summons can’t aim
o.O minonmancers suck…
This thread… man it was like brazil was just here, but this thread took it to a whole… nutha… level.
Or maybe as less of a buff, default weapon swap cd is tied to adrenaline at the time you swap?
Rangers get bows, axes, swords, torches, pets, spirits.
And spear guns.
I know it’s in part due to the limited weapons GW2 has for underwater use, but that doesn’t change the fact that they DO get a gun and use it. It makes a lot of the arguments against them having rifles fall flat, too.
I think Rangers will get rifles in due time. It seems like it would make sense for an asura ranger to have a rifle over a bow, anyway. Ditto that for a charr ranger. Any pet living around those cities would soon be used to strangeness and explosions, anyway.
Spearguns aren’t guns, they’re crossbows with javelins.
Rangers should be able to use rifles. I think of rangers as sort of a huntsman class and what does every good huntsman need? A rifle!!!! I love my level 80 ranger but the one thing he is missing is the use of a rifle. I also have a warrior and I believe that if a class that is focused on hand to hand combat can use a rifle and a longbow a class that focuses on ranged combat should also be able to use a rifle. Currently only two classes can use a rifle and almost every other weapon in the game can be used by at least three classes in some way or form. Rangers of the Guild Wars 2 community should unite and petition Arenanet to allow rangers to use the rifle.
Rifles are a stark contrast to nature and utilise engineering to be created. while the ranger is a huntsman, the ranger is also a nature worshipper/caretaker, being able to summon benign spirits that aid the ranger and their allies alongside other feats of natural phenomenon. Asking for a nature themed class to use a rifle is a contradiction to the stance of the class.
If we’re going completely off of being based off of nature then the sylvari shouldn’t be able to be warriors and use rifles.
That statement makes as much sense as saying norns should only be able to use alcohol attacks.
Exactly that’s what I’m saying.
No, there is nothing about the races that implies limitations on their class/weapon capabilities. There are logical limitations from the lore for what different classes can do.
“The Ranger is more in touch with living nature than any other profession. Where the Elementalist harnesses and tames the power of the elements, the Ranger lives as one with life in all its abundance, and utilizes unique survival skills that come from this connection.”
Rangers get bows, axes, swords, torches, pets, spirits. Engineers get rifles, pistols, turrets, kits.
Nah, make the f1 as useful as the greatsword f1. Something like 2 second channel, does less damage than if you had autoed, and applies 1 bleed.
Better not…in WvW, some warriors could just stand somewhere safe (say, in a tower lord room) sniping everyone passing by or trying to attack said tower without any chance to get hit back.
In this range he will need gain adrenaline to use kill shot, the use frequenci are low.
This could be better used in group combat against a fleeing foe. When the foe run to back line, kill shot will be unable to hit because range long cast time. With 3000 range he hits.A shot with 10k+ dmg every 10 secs (or less) and with a 3000 Range is to strong and to powerful. This would only more destroy the “balance” and make GW2 from a MMORPG to a MMOTPS full of riflewarriors.
I don’t think.
10k dmg requires full adrenaline, and the warrior stay static while cast that long casting.
To daing adrenaline the warrior needs stay in range of everyone, hiting.I need 6 till 8 sec to reach full adrenaline, otherwise I can also use Signet of Fury or Healing Surge.
BTW every warrior, should the burstskill miss, dont lose their adrenalin.
Every other class whose Class-Skill missed, get the full CD (which is much longer) and/or lose their requirement. You clearly haven’t used signet of fury, healing surge or berserker stance
Of course you would still have to wait the cooldown time…
Between those 3 you can practically chain 5 kill shots before you hit cd on your skills. Start with fury (1 shot), then berserker (2 shots), then healing surge (1 shot) then back to fury (1 shot)
I mean he said 6-8 seconds to build adrenaline, kill shot has a cooldown equally long. You would still have to wait that much time to use it again.
Imo the +5 stats are not worth the investment. Save the mats for your legendary instead
Your logic is incredibly flawed, it’s not worth a statistical upgrade, but worth a tiny portion of a cosmetic sidegrade? Gotcha.
ascended level stats

The only value they hold is rarity which people are complaining about
Most complaints aren’t about rarity, they’re about getting an entire bank tab of ones they’ll never use and still not getting one of the few they would.

Whoever is in charge of these guilds, get your kittens together.
If you don’t like me on cannon that much, just go around it, instead of hacking into SM and get reported.
I want to hear more about this case from people in Yak’s band. They don’t care, can’t see why they should.
During our last match-up I saw random people from 10 different guilds on this wall, not really a reason to judge the whole server or guilds because of that. The problem is already known and probably will take anet another two months to fix. As for now, enjoy the free thieves-hunting simulator.Of course they should care.
I do WvW all the time, been doing it for months, and spend considerable amounts of time in there. Haven’t had this many glitch abuse with any other servers. Just like you said, if at least 10 different guild from yak’s are just in and out sm whenever the hell they want, that IS a reason to judge the whole server. Even if anet aint fixing these bugs fast enough, that doesn’t mean they should freely abuse it. And as a server, they decides to not even gonna care? I remember when mesmer from sos glitch into Mendons. Our guys all yelled not to take port, and we all reported the person who did, and kicked the guy from the guild he was in. Seems to me Yak’s don’t have moral standards like us eh? 10 different guilds walks in and out and nobody even tries to stop them. Ridiculous. We do care. We have been watching for it ourselves to get proof. I do not know about 10 guilds, but I do know of a few. If this happens to anyone, please reach out to that guild and give them screenshots for proof. Yaks does not condone or tolerate this kind of behavior and never has.
If you are unsure who to send your screenshots to, please feel free to send them to me and I will ensure they get to who they need to.
I am rarely in EBG so I have not seen this myself. I do hope it is fixed soon because it is totally annoying.
That just gets people infractions.
BTW every warrior, should the burstskill miss, dont lose their adrenalin.

This is hilarious coming from a thief… Aegis or dodge, it’s still spam backstab till it connects.
For the lower level areas (under level 40) healing signet is way OP, I havent tested it with the recent buff to signets but it should now be even better. I literally engaged a mob with GS, had auto attack on, alt tabbed out to check something on wiki, and came back 15s later to find everything dead, me at full health.
Ofc a more active playstyle is recommended if you dont want to be bored to tears, but my point is healing signet for lower levels is an excellent skill to invest in. It doesn’t quite scale as well in higher level areas though.
It took you 15 seconds to kill something?…
You’re going to want a mobility set, the travel of leveling without movement skills and swiftness suuuuuuuucks.
Hello there Gnat,
I’ve been playing support Guardian build ever since release, tunning it slighty over the months, until the point I felt like it works everywhere. People say you can’t be dedicated healer in dungeons, but it’s not true. You can, and you can do it very well.
Of course those who say that full berserk sets work even better might be correct, but not every group is full of pro players who know all the mechanics in the game, and know what to dodge. And in these groups, a healing Guardian can be very handy.
I usually run with 4 berserk warriors though, so they make up for all the damage I’m lacking, while I maintain their health, boons and Might on desirable level, as well as can add 10s of Quickness on bosses. Most of the time warriors don’t even need to dodge anything, cos they get stability, aegis, protection and regen, as well as direct heals at right moment.
Here is link to the build I run:
0 0 30 30 10,
50% boon duration without cons,
shouts removing conditions,
up to 1800 healing power with Mace and Sigil of life,
Endless energy regen with the sigils of Energy+Stamina and vigor (fury from warriors helps with vigor)Depending on encounter, one or two shouts are switched with consecrations like Hallowed Ground, Wall of Reflection, Sanctuary and in some particular dungeons/fractals Spirit Shield.
I played a lot in GW1 as Imbagon, and that’s exactly what I wanted to achieve in GW2. I think I succeeded, even though most players want to leave when they see a guardian with staff and mace, after one run with me they end up asking about my build. So I don’t think it’s that bad really, it’s just against the belief of “healing power scales bad” and “you can’t heal lol” and “play berserk, kk?”.
I’m trying to prepare extensive guide with videos on the gameplay with this build, so far got only two videos, TAkittenpath and CoE p2. You can check them here:
CoE:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwGTvLbPHIQTA:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5drmLuDu9GsIt’s really weird for me when I see berserk guardians. If I want to do it berserk way, I play my warrior. If I want to play guardian, I like to dedicate myself to be best supporter you can get, even though my damage is crap.
I don’t even know what to say anymore.
It’s ok… just think of puppies.
1) Stacking warriors is a bad idea. There are unique buffs you are losing out on and you are passing up the opportunity to take other classes with even better DPS than the warrior, i.e. the thief.
Stacking warriors usually is a good idea.
Dungeons contain 30% fighting and 70% running. Warriors are the fastest proffession in the game, followed by rangers and (stupidly traited) thieves. But warriors have a much easier time coming to it’s full movement speed, even when skipping tough parts. You can even manage p1 arah skipping withput getting into combat (speaking from experience, i doubt my level 5 warrior has been able to take a hit). Rangers instead, using sword 2 will have a much harder time.
Also warriors have more cleave damage, more sustain (PvE, Whirlwind Attack) and have a much easier time bringing their damage on. Not to mention Mace 5 and Fear me foe more specialised fights. For simple fighting though you are right and stacking warriors is a bad idea. Gor bursts 3 ele 1 thief 1 warrior is the best setup, for long fights something with 2 eles, a warrior and a ranger.
But as stated before, that doesn’t matter much in dungeons.Quick question to the end, for a warrior with 30/25/0/0/15, 2400 Base Power, averaging 6 stacks of might, 1980-1250 precision and 90-105% critdamage (70% banner uptime). Are 25 Stacks of Bloodlust or Precision better, aswell as which Consumable (100 Power, 70 Precision, 100 prec or power and 10% critdmg).
Warriors aren’t any faster than anyone else for anything. They have Savage Leap and Rush on GS, which are okay but nothing amazing. Rangers have Hornet Sting/Monarch’s Leap (which can be used to double the distance by turning before pressing the button) and which is also usable as a standard leap for those leap “sploits” like CoF P2. Both in terms of being able to survive annoying runs like Arah Risen skips, and in terms of raw ground covered, warriors aren’t any better than anyone else.
Also, Bloodlust is always better in speedrun comps simply because it scales better and won’t cap, unlike Perception, which caps at 100%. In general, power > precision, unless your crit chance is very low (less than 50%). The power + crit damage consumable is generally the best, although unless you are already capping precision, you won’t see a huge difference overall.
You forget WA. Savage Leap is 900 range (can go up to 1000 range with a good interrupt), Rush is 1200+ range. WA is 600+ range. Ranger Sword #2 is 600 range twice and GS#3 is 900+ range. I’m aware that rangers are pretty fast too, aswell as thieves, but warriors are simply faster. Also, Savage Leap (interrupted) and Rush won’t get you in combat, Bullcharge just to a slight chance. Get a friend up to battle you on running through open PvE world paths and you will see.
Also i’m a bit confused that you say bloodlust is always better than perceprion, haven’t haviz and nike proved perception is better considering 25 stacks might?
I believe Hornet Sting + Monarch’s Leap are 900 both ways. I know Monarch’s Leap goes miles, it’s even farther than Savage Leap.
Also, Bloodlust vs. Perception (rough estimates, can’t be assed):
Bloodlust = 250 power, assume ~3k power, 250/3000 = ~8%.
Perception = 250 precision = ~12% crit chance, assume 88% crit chance and 200% crit damage, (1 + (1 × 2))/(1+(.88 × 2)) = ~8.5%.
That’s half a % point difference and that’s assuming you’re not going to cap out crit chance halfway through the Perception stacks. A warrior stands to have 40% crit chance from gear, +15% from Heightened Focus, +15% from Spotter and Discipline, and +20% from fury. That’s already 90%. Guardians will cap it out even faster because they are getting +29% from having 30 in Radiance line for 1H weapons.
I do still run Perception over Bloodlust though. Why is a S E C R E T.
o.O 200% critdmg?…
If you’re just trying to work precision/critdmg into your gear, there’s more efficient tradeoffs than your weapons in terms of 1% critdmg per X stats
Are you guys really discussing about whether 3k range instakills are op or not? Maybe it doesn’t matter that much if it’s only 1 warrior but think about 5-10 hiding inside their zerg. Half of the enemy zerg would be downed before the real fight even started.
No, they aren’t. You just combined multiple suggestions.
Pro yak omega rush is pro.
Considering the base is 25, you shouldn’t expect it to even scale to 30…
I won’t lie, I definitely ran banner regeneration at one point in my life on my warrior. Never again.
You were doing it wrong then, as far as dungeons/pve go, banner warriors with the new regen signet are able to facetank a lot of crap, possibly even more than guardians. Add in adrenal health, cleric trinkets and regen food and you easily get 1k passive regen per sec without having to push any button. No other class can come even close on that field.
[inb4glasscanons&pvpfreakscomeinflaming]
Meanwhile, i deal extreme amounts of DPS with full berserker Axe/Mace while getting ~700 HP/s from the healing signet + Omnomberry Ghost(~340 heal on crit, 1 second internal cooldown, 90%+ crit chance at all times).
While facetanking things are cool for a while, you may want to reconsider builds for dungeons.
Ya I wouldn’t run a banner cleric build in a dungeon because you’re basically increasing the difficulty for everybody else in your party. Providing regen but no protection/spike healing while lengthening the encounter only increases the odds of your zerkers being 1 or 2shot by bosses. The only place I currently ever run a banner regen build is if I feel like being a lazy backliner in wvw, providing regen to 15 people. If we ever get real multigroup pve (raids) then this might actually become a decent totem build. Organize your player placements and you can drop a banner of defense on your tank(s), tactics on yourself and others focusing on heals/boons, discipline/strength on your dps. Regens any1 who kitten ed an aoe, is offtanking, etc and provides the banner buffs where they’ll be relevant.
Most ‘inconveniences’ in the game are justified – you must work to get rewards.
Work with your world to capture places.
And if my world doesn’t have the numbers to do so? From the OP:
If your server is inconsistent in its performance or simply lacks performance, good luck ever getting the maps done.
You change colours in WvW. You don’t have to actually cap anything but stonemist.
Remove the PvE maps from World Completion
Not fair to WvW players
Guys just drop the damage mods, they apply identically in both cases so they cancel in comparison… Only apply damage mods to comparisons where you actually change the mods.
It can be very annoying if you don’t bring counters.
Solution: bring countersstability and stun break are your friends.
As mentioned above: you can dodge the disk and the end of the swirling thing inflicts knockdown so just make sure you’re not standing in it when it ends.
Or just break the thing that causes the extra attacks…
Didn’t register with 0/0/0/0/0 as one of your builds. Disqualified.
Hi all, as the title says its the suggestion to remove player killing in the World vs World, either that or remove them entirely or at very least stop putting achievements that require doing said World vs World.
You want PvP removed from PvP? I guess we would be left with the contents of your head…
Based on how high the other achievement requirements are, you would probably have to use a ram for an entire year straight of pressing 1 against an infinite HP gate to unlock it…
@ Nike
Put that thing back in your pants, please.
I’m not interested in a kitten ing contest.Let me try and be more clear.
I’m saying race-style record keeping isn’t really all that much of a community support system because the average player can’t do much with the information provided by it. That’s not a dig at OP’s performance, that’s a critique of the speedrun meta’s influence over the pug meta. There’s nothing inherently evil about tooting your own horn, but I just can’t agree with the altruistic spin I quoted because it seems to encourage that influence. Which I regard as a recipe for disaster, and OP regards as a trial-by-fire.
You could PUG with very specific requirements to build a meta group (which would really be pugging how you normally would in another game, looking for specific classes to fill specific roles). You would probably get QQ’ed as an elitist in 8 threads tho.
Don’t kid yourselves, this isn’t T3 because the rank 11 server is present.
Tell me I’m a glass cannon, because I didn’t consider myself one with a toughness of 1132
“I wear 2 knight’s rings and nothing else defensive but still don’t actually hit very hard, tell me I’m a glass cannon.”
How does one get hit by killshot.
Shadow refuge 5 rifle warriors equipped with penetrating shots into range of a zerg v zerg. Can some1 say firing squad?
I guess when you’re [PRO] and its 2 am this is what you do lol
I don’t get why people sit there, I can see the tags of people there from the other side because of how they scale with distance.
(Not that’s it’s your fault the community’s so mixed up proof of concept for a build comes down to that.)
Thankfully that ISNT our proof of concept. We have live streamed this build during testing, we posted dungeon run videos for most dungeons including Arah and Fotm 48. If Cof1 isn’t a valid test, and neither is Arah, and neither are high level fractals, I’m not sure what sorta of proof you’d accept.
If your arguement is “sword too hard community is too bad to play it” you’re right… for now. Give people a month or so of playing and even casuals will have it down.
Not enough zerker dps until you solo a full bunker/cleric guard in 5 seconds.
Yes it does… do you have it setup properly?
Stop double clicking the items. Are you just spamming your mouse button?
Breaks WvW, breaks JP’s, breaks proper map exploration.
I know the ranger build, but can anyone link the build the thieves were using? I’ve been having the itch to use my thief but whereas I’ve never been immediately kicked upon joining as a warrior or guardian, joining a speed group as a thief is just winning the lottery with the amount of ignorance surrounding the class’s effectiveness.
I mean, there are tons of people still kittened enough that claim thieves are weak in PvE, when I consider them not only a class rivaling warriors, but with even better utility for the purposes of speed runs and skipping content. I know my 48 dailies on dredge go a lot smoother with a thief, in fact most fractals do.
Playing my thief is just so much more fun than playing a warrior ;*(.
I’d also kill to get a build for berserker ranger that can be used in speed runs/fractal 48 as well.
I mostly play warrior or mesmer or ranger.
Thief requires people smart enough to use fields and blast finishers AKA not most pug speed runs.
Yes this happened to us the other night in AC. We killed the last boss, guy ran over and got chest and then left so it kicked everyone out and then the kittenbag logged out so when I went to talk to him about it he was offline. Fix this kitten now!
The only chest near the end of AC is the one you get for completing the event before Ghost Eater. You can get that chest before even interacting with the last boss. If you did path 2 and didn’t get that chest earlier, it’s not really the party leader’s responsibility to make sure everyone has it before he leaves the group. People have other things to do.
He shouldn’t be “leader” then.
The chest is from a previous encounter… it’s not the leader’s job to hold your hand back through the dungeon because you forgot to tap f within 900 range of it when you walked by.
Can’t mezmers still clone themselves using the hammer?…
mace/shield/staff sentinel/cleric’s guard
I heal my team I’m a paladinnnnnnn
Nah, paladins actually kill things.
A True Paladin Will Sheath His Sword
Turn undead.
Warrior’s may not be op atm (I wouldn’t give em that), but today my lvl 80 warrior comes main. That’s for certain. I did the same with necro when earlier patch hits. Was necro op? nope. Where they finally Viable: yes.
But here we go warrior main, lets see how long it will take them to nerf warrior
(every profession I mained has been nerfed). So you should be scared
.
So you’re a flavor of the month player. Got it.
Warriors have been one of the strongest zerg classes in WvW for awhile. Plenty of people started a warrior just for that.
(edited by Player Character.9467)
I don’t know…I mean, I could be wrong but it seems like warriors took some kind of a nerf. That or the champs have been given a pretty stout boost ‘cause I used to be able to take on the Champion Spider in Queensdale by myself but now I can’t even come close and I didn’t change anything about my character. Some are telling me that it’s just the scaling but I’m not so sure ’cause I do usually play during peak times on Tarnished Coast and have never had issues like this until this update so…?
Scaling is based on how many people are immediately nearby.
Stronger bowstrings – MIA
Naked warrior + using frenzy (for extra damage) + traits and gear nobody will ever use in any fight ever to maximize damage + stacking vulnerability.
I.e.: This isn’t even a proof of concept. It’s a sad “look at me” attempt masqueraded as min-maxing (which this isn’t).
I would say it’s a curiousity. It’s neat learnin someone can make eviscerate reach 50k.
If you want to see an actually silly eviscerate, find a naked level 1 upscale in wvw.
If you do it with the current giveaways of those due to achievements, indeed, it’s quite ok, but those are definitely in limited count.
And you get a fair amount from dailies as well.
I have about 200 of them. Getting ~600 tokens requires 10 dungeon path runs. Assuming you do 2 paths per day, that’s 5 days. So 5 days of constant dungeon running lets you consume 1 MF stone using this method. To use up all my MF stones (ignoring future ones I obtain) I’ll have to spend about 1000 days of constant dungeon running.
Needless to say I am not worried about their limited amount. In fact now that I made this post I might start using my MF stones for tossing rares weapons into the MF too =/.
Those aren’t from dailies, you have maybe 30-40 from dailies over the span of the entire game so far. The rest of those you got recently from the AP chests which will basically end in a couple weeks. Also plenty of people can get in 3-4 different paths in under an hour.
