[Suggestions] Please Bring Back these Gem Stores Items

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Purgatori.3645

I don’t know if this has already been asked for, and if so please merge threads because I couldn’t find it … But I would really like Anet to please consider a Chaos style quiver back piece please. Pretty please. With a cherry on top!

My ranger currently has the Chaos longbow, axe/torch combo wearing Crystal Savant outfit all in celestial. The combination of the two are amazing and I am constantly complimented by other players on how amazing she looks. I did purchase the Chaos gloves immediatley but the Savant Outfit has an electrical charge animation that merges with the Chaos weapons perfectly.

Anyways enough about that …. but the only backpiece I can find that even looks close to being suitable for her is the Radiant Backguard that you get with 39,000 AP but I am far far far from that goal. Im actually surprised that there aren’t more quivers available considering how many classes use bows. If Anet could consider this I would be forever grateful. Chaos is a popular skin in game so Im sure Im not the only one who would log in just to buy this item if it ever enters the gem store.

Merry Wintersday and the best of the season to all!

Crafting ascended items as gifts

Purgatori.3645

I guess the spirit of giving is dead. Merry Wintersday.

If gift giving is your thing, there is a thread under Players helping Players “Gifting Strangers”. I say this because the spirit of giving is very much alive in Tyria and more so with Wintersday right around the corner. So … dont complain about what you cant do. Recognize what you can do and make someone elses day…. If your “spirt of giving” is as a live as you inadvertently claim it to be

Looking for a new class - Die too often :(

Purgatori.3645

Hi All,

This has most likely been asked many times – I have read through many threads but still unable to find all answers I need.

I am not very good at this game as much as I love it. GW1 I was able to spec up my heroes to protect myself but I don’t have that luxury here.

I am looking for a fun character to play. I find myself dying too often, more so in HoT – But even with Rev. I just cannot solo and find it hard to find a team to run round basic stuff like Hero Points or Mastery Points.

I want a class that has good protection, but also a bit of power, Sure I may not be able to run around in full zerk gear but I also dont want to run around in a bubble and take 30 minutes to kill a rabbit >_<

Also if I do gain more confidence in playing and I want to go fractals or raids, one of these classes that would also be good for that when adapted.

Thanks if you can provide any help.

My hubby plays guardian/dragonhunter and has no problems whatsoever ….

If your looking for a light class I suggest Necro with the following link for a build I put this on my Necro and she is a powerhouse. Have had no problems in HOT or any open world content at all including the new maps and zones. I will be taking her into pvp soon :

Can you tone down the content of loot bags?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Purgatori.3645

Purgatori.3645

My only problem is the piles of minor sigils/runes that I get after mass salvaging. While I’m on the go, I don’t want to have to stop and find a vendor to get rid of that stuff. So each time I purge my inventory by salvaging everything, my available space gets smaller and smaller as it fills up with garbage runes/sigils.

Pro Tip : Leave all your bags stacked until you have done everything or put them in your bank for when you have nothing else to do. That way you can salvage to your hearts content while heaving a vendor close by like in Lions Arch. There is no need to empty all your bags on the go when they stack and only take up one space.

[Idea] Racial Outfits

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Purgatori.3645

Purgatori.3645

I think Anet should really put this to a meeting and see how they feel about it. I do like outfits on some of my toons and I do like armor on others. Using the outfits as a way of changing races is a wickid idea! Either that or they keep producing the tonics, like in Bitterfrost Frontier, where you can buy a Kodan tonic with karma, and it changes you into a Kodan able to use your skills and weapons in battle. Either way, this is the solution to the community that keeps asking for new playable races. And most do want them. I think it would take a fraction of the time to do this than to put the Dev team on a character creation playable race that has to either be written in to the existing story, or creating a new story and city etc etc for them ( which would also be cool but not plausable). I like the pace the Dev team is producing new content, so this will keep them moving forward while pleasing the masses.

If the black lion chest has temporary items you can’t use then maybe you’re better off not opening any chests until the items are switched out to a different temporary set.

No offense and all, but someone who is never going to progress beyond core Tyria isn’t their main concern.

Fully agree … since its now known basically what items you have a chance of getting out of BL chests. Its a gamble either way , but you cant really complain that your getting items that dont pertain to you. What a waste of a vantage point if you asked me pffft. Salvaging bloodstone crystals or berries will always be the fastest way … but if you dont want to salvage I would say its Bloodstone Fen due to the amount of unbound magic you can get from gliding from the airship.

Official Ep 3 Feedback Thread

Purgatori.3645

Initial impressions:

I like it. More stuff to do, another home instance node to buy, great terrain. I like the torch stuff.

Negatives:

- That map seriously needs a few more way points and/or shortcuts.
- The last boss is brutal. It’s a personal story, not a raid or dungeon and many folks will be attempting it solo. Some will succeed, some will not. Even when you understand the rather obscure mechanics it is not an easy fight.

One small suggestion. It seems that the trend is to sell us a new portal scroll for each new map. That’s great but they are starting to clutter up the inventory a little. A universal portal device that we could add our scrolls and portals destinations to would be excellent. So you double-click it and it offers you a list of your available destinations.

I found the last boss really easy. It took me a minute to realize what I was supposed to do. One look at this status should tell you he’s pro-immortal and thus needs a mechanic to kill. Then you see him constantly charging so my first thought was: run him into the walls to stun him.. didn’t work.
2nd thought: Run him into the 4 spires.. didn’t work.
3rd though: use him to kill the minis.. worked.
Then I kept killing all the minis thinking maybe some secondary effect will happen. Which it did, a scroll spawned and the boss suddenly became VERY weak. just a few hundred blades and a few dodges was all it took.

I was making dinner last night waiting to log in while my hubby finished the personal story. I was shocked when he solo’d one of Jormags champions and then also solo’d the end boss. It took him a minute or two to figure out what needed to be done for both and kicked some serious butt! While it seemed as I watched that the end boss would be impossible, he had it done very quickly and completed the stroy/map. People just need to think it though and not run in and hack and slash … my hubby is a casual player guys and he had no trouble with this on level 80 Guard.

I found it immediately challenging and engaging but in a way that was still enjoyable. It seems with the new maps that after spending time in HOT you are prepared for the mobs and content to be exactly this way. Kudos to the design team , Im absolutely loving the tall timber and wooded areas, very realistic! Lots of loot, lots of events, and lots of players helping players (or at least in my experience) with some of the more challenging content. I’d say you nailed it 100% Keep it comin guys!

Re The Raiding Article on Dulfy

Posted by: Purgatori.3645

Purgatori.3645

I haven’t done a raid yet. I have no idea what is needed to do a raid. I have asked both guilds I am in about them and no one can give me a straight answer. I haven’t tried to join parties either in the areas they are in or googled the requirements so … believe me this isn’t a complaint ….. But I do want the legendary armor. I love crafting and would like a set for my Ranger. To unlock it you have to kill a raid boss. and so on and so forth …. People like me will only raid to get what they want …. but without a scaling system considering how long they have been out and no help so far from guildies, I dont see this happening anytime soon ( still not complaining) What I will say is that raids and legendary armor so far seem to be for the elite. I am ok with this …. even if it means I will never have legendary armor. If it is supposed to be the hardest content in the game and these players are tackling it and getting legendary armor and loot as a reward AWESOME! Not all content needs to be easily available to all players. Maybe Anet is trying to make sure raids dont end up like dungeons did idk …. I guess what im saying all around is every player has the ability to do ALL content in game including raids if you commit to the goals of doing them. Otherwise you can admire legendary armor and raid rewards on other players and shut it lol Raids dont appear to be for half-assers

Karka Queen is not soloable, and whomever claims to have solo’d her is full of kitten imo but there are a lot of good points here from the community about Karka being awesome for testing builds and that Southsun is a great map for farming. I have never completed the JP … but its still fun to try

Outfits and Appearance Packs

Anet I have a small request. I know your Appearance Packs generate income from gem sales and I have bought them in the past but when you offer them for sale can you please add an option to get their outfit only as well?

Ive missed the Bandit Sniper outfit the last two times it was in the gem store and was stoked last night to see the appearance pack available! Im certain in the past anytime the appearance pack has been there , after scrolling down the outfit has been in the list for 700 gems. But not last night I purchased Marjory’s outfit (Thank you so much for that) but was bummed I couldnt buy the Banit Sniper too for my theif. I dont need any of the other Immortal weapon skins and I have a permanent hair contract so the appearance packs are a waste of gems for me to get a 700 gem outfit.

Small complaint but … Im still really bummed about it lol

Double experience weekend to return?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Purgatori.3645

Purgatori.3645

I wish they would regularly do themed weekends, just to mix things up a bit. We’re at Halloween now, so there are ToT bags dropping out there in the wilds. Wintersday is up next, then the new years. SAB sometime after that. And that’s it, right?

They could supplement their (too few) celebrations with themed weekends (or weeks) – valentines day (chocolates?), pirate day (booty!), st patties (clovers?) – whatever. It wouldn’t have to be as big as Halloween with the Lab etc, just toss some drops in from killing critters and add them to the dailies like we have now with ToT’s.

This would be awesome! If they did a clover thing for St. Patricks Day I would farm the kitten out of it … I doubt this would ever happen lol but These are great suggestions to go along with a double exp weekend.

Dont remember seing it, but how would leveling 14 levels instead of 7 help you get a second legendary?

With all the tomes of knowlage the game give from dailys just loging in, wvw/spvp reward tracks etc how could you not have max leveled alts by now?

Tomes are great for leveling, but they dont advance a crafting discipline. So … by gaining 14 levels instead of 7, yes, Im still leveling my toon and saving tomes and getting a discipline to 400 at least. Its a win win situation

The suggestion/solution/compromise I’m most fond of is for a level 80 to be able to exchange a gift of exploration for core-tyria map completion (w/o gaining any xp from it, nor new gifts of exploration).

~EW[/quote]

I think this is a great idea for players that have 2 gifts of exploration from map completion but have no desire to make a legendary weapon. This is really something Anet should look into with of course not getting anything, gifts of exploration, in return.

You basically loose a lot of the content if all you’re looking to do is unlock WP which would be great for guild missions on a alt toon, but completely missing the point of everything this game has to offer. If you need WP in a new zone teleport to friend, otherwise grind like the rest of us

Vets refuse to help or even apple

Purgatori.3645

I don’t really care if I get trolled on this.

Almost one year in on HoT. We were given mentor tags. We were givien expanded comm abilities. Still it’s like pulling teeth to get folks to even apple on events or give any kind of guidance.

It just seems crazy to me. Why wouldn’t U want to give back on experiece and knowledge u’ve gained to help the next generation come in , stay exited, and help those after them?

I’ve tried for almost an entire year to at least get folk to put up those mentor’s on events while they’re active, to ask people to point out wp’s of current objective: to show map is active and to show people where things are happening currently, to no avail.

Idk if people are just scared to mentor , or just like forget u I can’t spend a second to help anyone, I got another chest to open?

It’s just seems crazy to me. With the tools anet has given us to take on some kind of role in leading and 95% of folks just look for a comm or say screw it.

tdlr: why not help someone outside yourself. Just takes a few seconds in many instances, and you help everyone including yourself???

Im a 4 year vet with HOT so /mentor and Commanders Tag. While I agree that Vets should help, especially if its being called out in map chat I dont think it should be expected every time we log in. Sometimes I log in and help out and lead and sometimes I just like to let someone else do it.

Different people use their commanders tags for different reasons. I know in guilds I have been in they do anyways. Just because you see a commander running in a map doesnt mean they are there for the same reasons you are. If you need more help use the internet to google the guides and walkthroughs of the event you are doing and sorry … stop looking for someone to hold our hand

I did look on the wiki and it seems the only thing that has changed from the original way of making this is how you acquire the Gift of Battle. I originally bought this with tokens but now you can only get it through WVW? If so that’s ok. I know you have the option of crafting it but the original way wasn’t too difficult. Is it just the new legendaries that you have to craft with elements of HOT? Besides the WVW reward track Gift of Battle I can still make a Twilight the old fashioned way from my understanding?

Welcome to GW2!

I fully support all of the advice on saving your gems. If there is something you want now then yes, buy it. But hold out for at least the patch coming next Tuesday for the new LWS3 … there may be an amazing sale that comes with it.

Characters are based on preference. My first was a Warrior but I after making my Guardian I wish I had started there …. And my Ranger is my favorite next to the Revanant.

Some advice though …

Give it some time before you sink any money into crafting.
Dont waste gems on makeover kits (my fav thing in the whole world) until you’re sure you love your character enough to keep them.
Dont be afraid to ask questions in map chat.
Always check inventory before deleting a character :P

See you in game!

Its not available yet. Someone had said that the Guard I saw with it must have changed her hairstyle when there was a glitch in the kits which has since been fixed. I guess this is one we have to look forward to? It would be nice with the patch next week for new LS3 that we would get some of these new styles.

~ fingers crossed ~

We’ve honestly been waiting for new hairstyles for close to 7 months now. In fact this is the 7 month, the last time we received any was wayyyyy long time ago(Wintersday patch). You’d think they’d have hairstyles out and ready for us by now, specially since that leak kinda shows, they did have some. Getting new styles out would really help with this current drought we’re experiencing.

Yes thats very true … I was hoping to have something fresh by now especially since the color update patch for purples. I’m also hoping for better human hair. The Norns (I love Norns) had that amazing update to the female hair with the long braids. But Human females should also get to wear long tresses … and they would make serious coin by adding that in. If a Norn can wear it down to her butt so can a Human lol

There was a bug with the kits a while back where upcoming styles showed up for some people who then applied them, and then when the bug was fixed the styles stayed. So she likely got it then and never changed it.

Well that answers that question! lol

I had no idea there was a bug and im always in and out of those kits so boo for missing out! Hopefully well get some new styles soon. Thanks!

Check the NPC in the Black Lion place who previews all hair style options regardless of kit.

Afaik, no one would have access to something not in game

uh … I just googled and it looks like its part of the permanent hairstyle contract ??

Its the hairstyle on the bottom right … she was blonde though

I saw a human female guardian at the bank in L.A. with a hairstyle not currently available in the hairstyle or makeover kits. I confirmed it by looking at one of the kits I had in my bank to be sure. All she said to me was that hopefully it will be added on the next hairstyle/color update. WTH? lol

I know some players haven’t spent a dime on aesthetics and thats all well and good … for those of us who have any word on new hairstyles ??? I know they just added some new colors in March I believe. And any idea how a player has something no one else has? LOL I haven’t seen the hairstyle since. Maybe its part of the permanent contract I covet yet will never have < insert sad face here >

Doing Tequatl gives you 15,000 to 20,000 karma per event. If SW isnt producing spend your karma for them, and your laurels as well
