It takes less than a minute to log in to get your daily rewards and check the trading post for promos …. While agree that something labeled “customer appreciation” should be around longer, maybe even mailed out to the community, Im sure you could have found one minute to log in and snatch up the freebie
Dont even get me started on all the laurels and mystic coins flipped = gold that you are missing out on ….. jeez lol
It only takes a minute or two if you’re already on the computer. If you need to stop whatever else you’re doing, turn on the PC, wait for it to start up, log into the game, wait for it to load and then open the gem store it takes considerably longer. And on most days (Mondays especially) there’s a high probability you’ll find that nothing at all has changed since last time you logged in.
Not to mention the fact that I suspect for many people, even long-term devoted GW2 fans, checking the gem store for new promotions comes very far down their list of priorities in life. Taking those few minutes out of whatever else you’re doing may be disruptive enough that it’s just not practical, even if it’s not a long time (for example if you’re trying to pack and get everything sorted to go away, or you’ve got family over).
Or you might just not think of it at the right time. On Saturday I was thinking I really need to do guild missions more often and I’d make sure I did them on Sunday evening. But come Sunday evening I was walking around the lake outside of town with my husband and didn’t even think about guild missions until I got home and they’d been over for hours.
Ultimately it’s a game. It shouldn’t be something you have to go out of your way to keep up to date with. Sure this is a relatively trivial example, but it’s easy for the same thinking – that we as players should be making an effort to log in at least part of every day – to spread to other aspects of the game. They did a good job with the login rewards by making them pick up where you left off instead of resetting if you miss a day, it would be nice if they could make similar allowances for less regular promotions too.
Thats a very long winded way of saying “Its just a game” …. One .. two sentances tops to make the same point you ended up eventually making. I know its just a game … but I have 3 accounts. All three daily log ins, and 6 level 80 flax farms in two maps on main account take less than 20 minutes, a half hour if I decide to do the daily. And thats if Im taking my time.
So players either take the minute or two it takes to get log ins and check TP , I do it every morning over my coffee …. or they lose out on promos. The point is still made.

More on topic: As a player, I know there are a few cats I won’t have, but I don’t mind — there are plenty that I can acquire, and I love the way they enliven my home instance!

This is the last part of the HOT story and I couldn’t get through it. I gave up. I did it solo, and with a guildie and still couldnt get through it. HOT for me will never be complete

I was just looking at my Ranger in game and realized that I have 352 unspent hero ponts. Is this going to have any benefit entering the new expansion in September? Soulbeast seems cool along with the other new specializations we have to look forward to … I have tons on my Beserker and Reaper also. Any word from Anet on this?

have you unlocked the druid spec yet? if not you’ll have to have that unlocked first because it’s a prerequisite to unlocking the next elite spec in this case soulbeast.
That’s actually not the case. You can buy PoF without having bought HoT and get access to the new elite specs in PoF.

Its all good I actually thought I did read that the new elites were separate from HOT but didnt feel like digging for that info at the moment.
I dont understand why there is no other use for hero points in game right now, but the fact that their whole purpose is to level your character skills/elite skills then I HOPE those of us with excess can get use of them going into the expansion.

Anet … just gotta say that I love the free preview the map so far its awesome.
As I finished the first part of the personal story and got my Raptor mount I was happy to run around exploring , tail spinning into mobs and thankfully I had no motion sickness.

I dyed my mount … gotta say I agree with other posts about the mounts needing more than one dye channel. At least two would be epic.
Theres only one thing missing for me so far. I wanna be a geek about it and name my mount …. I main a Ranger, and I always name my pets. They do a lot of the fighting for you they deserve a name. While I understand that mounts are not pets, Ive already grown rather attached to my Raptor and would like you to consider adding this feature please.

I went to wiki … but the page doesn’t seem complete. I get that it will get you to 80 on consumption, but I’m wondering if you get the free gear when consuming like the 80 boost that comes with the expansion. If it was just an instant 80 with no other perks, It wouldn’t seem worth 2000 gems.
I can see this ticket being a permanent item on the gem store, but the bundle package available for the desert I can see not being around for long

I was sitting here day dreaming about this upcoming weekend and POF launch next month and I wondered if Anet has thought of this ….
Legendary mounts that you can acquire in new maps or content that you either buy with currency , like magnetite shards in raids or you have to craft dishes and feed it like the Hungry Cats achievements for home instance… (they’re bigger so they would eat alot )
I think it would be an injustice to have an amazing legendary weapon(s), with full on legendary armor to not have the final accessory in a legendary mount to traverse Tyria in full on glory! There are already legendary bosses like Karka Queen or the Mordrem Demolisher to name a couple in game … it wouldn’t be too hard a dynamic to roll out I dont think … what do you think?

I get the spider mount and the love/hate surrounding the idea. Im not sure that I understand not wanting one when there are huge spiders in a lot of other areas of the game. Like the one in the new map up by Grenths Reliquary mastery point ITS HUGE.
That being said I do hope to see one in game be it florescent pink or not. Id also love to see a large devourer like the one that spawns in Diessa at the Hero Point!

I have had no trouble with this map whatsoever, and have map completion already, although I have a lot of events/AP to still do and some personal story. Its on par with all of HOT as far as I can see so going vertical was expected.
Sorry you’re having trouble Lots of Commanders/Mentors in map though to help out should you need it. Just get your bearings and have fun! ^.^

I pick away at achievements in all of the maps and refuse to run through them all in a week. I like to enjoy the new content and take it all in. But it really is as easy as looking in LFG for a squad, there’s tons of them for Lake Doric, joining up and doing the run up the hill. I’ve never had trouble looking for a Commander to run up that mountain
Also I like the idea of LFG to advertise you need help. I’ve done this for the exact reason you’re having trouble with. Players that speed through new content will have no trouble creating a squad or joining your party to help with these events. Some [NOT ALL ] are just standing around in style anyways looking for something to do.

It’s a bug that pops up from time to time. It’s related to a fix of a previous bug where people who made a char on a particular day got Guild Wars 1 titles and AP points.
You can usually get your titles back (if they are actually missing) by switching chars.

Sadly, I never had the title and I was seriously confused because I dont have GW1, hence, no Hall of Monuments titles or achievements. In 4+ years this is the first time Ive seen this so logging in to it had me scratching my head a bit
And it was definatley worth sharing for those of us who have never seen it lol

You keep saying that you cant get in game gold to get what you want. But I dont understand how this can be the case.
1. Do your daily acheivements = 2 gold
2. Your daily log in will equal 20 mystic coins = 18-20 gold , and 55 laurels that can be exchanged for heavy crafting bags. 3 mats per bag = 80 silver to 1 gold
3. Do the world boss train = 8-10 gold daily
4. Flip loot on the trading post or salvage rares for ecto and sell it back to the trading post. Gold attained will vary.
5. Do as many meta events as possilbe.
Im sorry … I understand that players getting loot you are coveting can be frustrating. But be active in your want or need to have certain loot There is no reason that you cant hammer out some of the suggestions in this thread and come out on top, whether you get what you are after, or not.

I didn’t really know what category to put this under so I will post it generally. I main a Ranger and I’m having trouble finding a straight answer on what build I should be running. She is currently in all exotic zerker gear with runes of the scholar with all ascended zerker trinkets/amulet/rings etc …. so far shes solo’d 90% of all PVE content with little trouble. Longbow with axe/torch …
I want her in all Ascended gear/weapons and am close to having Huntsman at 500. What Ascended set of armor should I craft for her as I immediately thought Zojja and am finding that there are several possibilities. Do you recommend different weapon sets and if so, what Ascended set would you run?

GREAT JOB on the new map and content. I found I felt right at home with it being in Kryta. Familiar buildings and settings. Some amazing vistas in this map. Lakeside Bazar is just beautiful. Great mob spawns, challenging content and great story progression! I was happy to see some old friends returning I’d say this is a WIN!

The same points keep being made …. you are CHOOSING to gamble if you buy black lion chests and keys. Complaining about your choices to do so is moot.
If you want a guaranteed glider, buy it in the gem store since you have no problems supporting Anet
The problem is there are some gliders which are only available though the chests, so if you want them you don’t have a choice – you gamble or you miss out. (Or you gamble and miss out because you don’t get that specific drop.)
I don’t understand why they’re doing it either. I always thought one of the best things about the chests was they’re completely optional because everything in them is either tradable or available somewhere else so you only need to gamble if you want to. Then they changed that. I’m highly sceptical that it will get more people to buy keys so it seems to be purely disadvantaging people who can’t or won’t gamble for the items they want, and losing Anet money in the process.
Well .. Im not saying I agree with it, Im saying that the multiple threads about this subject are moot just like “make more armor over outfits”.
How about trying to offer Anet solutions, or alternatives to this instead? The money speaks for itself … If Anet is going to keep making money from gem purchases to buy keys etc then its not something thats going to stop … not without a full on boycott. Which will never happen! LOL complaint after complaint the main point is you still bought the gems and gambled and lost on something you knew you most probably would.
