This Issue actually hits me pretty hard. I’m “color deficient” in my vision :/
Think about it like this:
How many stacks of bleeding can someone get in real life???……25 doesn’t seem so bad, now, does it?
If A-net sued them, It would make my day
Yearly Achievement: Complete all the monthly achievements
Reward: 3 blues, 2 greens, 200 karma, 1 copper
That’s what we get for completing everything ELSE in this game, so, why change it? lol
There is nothing wrong with current legendaries.
And there is no way to make a skill based way to achieve one besides gold farming.I really hope the scavenger hunt will never come and was simply a slip of the tongue, would like to keep the T6 mats at sane prices for other gear, and to avoid a “legendary rush”.
Yes, there IS. They are in NO WAY even remotely “legendary”. You put an insane amount of time into obtaining things, such as: a “Disco-Stick”, a “Nyan-Cat Staff”, a “Shield With A Book Glued To It”, a “Giant Lighter”, and who can forget “Giant Sword That Mimics A Car Windshield”, and it’s sister “Giant Sword That Mimics Telescope”..I hear these can be combined to create "Giant Sword With Telescopic Windshield "…pretty legendary, eh?……no……
They should do a “Most Cowardly Man In The World” commercial:
(Logan sitting at table, while Hispanic lute music plays) “I don’t always run away…But, when I do…” (sprints out the door)
Honestly, I think it would be pretty awesome if they made the dragon events “raid-level” difficulty. I would make the fights feel more epic, in my opinion. I mean, you ARE fighting a DRAGON, after all.
Criticism is fine, as long as it’s constructive.
What I’ve seen many gamers do, however, is rant and rave, insult devs, etc.
In my opinion, that is what is wrong with the gaming fanbase. Too many rabid attacks, too few constructive criticisms.
The problem here is that GW2 has a lot of problems that all deserve criticism.
If I were to list off every single flaw in the design of this game, small or large, you’d consider that an “attack” because of its excess negativity and because of just how large the list really is.
And yet, I maintain that this is a great game. And I’ve talked several friends into buying it despite these flaws.
I just don’t for even one second believe that this game is perfect, and I do feel as though the dev team lost their way at some point because several of the game’s primary flaws are things they themselves said don’t belong in an MMO.
It all depends on how you list the flaws. If you do it correctly, there will be very few people calling it an attack. On the other hand, if you can’t keep personal feelings about the flaw to your self (where they belong), then no matter how accurate you are, you will always be considered “on the attack”
There is a news announcement somewhere where they addressed that a little. don’t remember where, though. I do recall them saying it’s not going to be the same, though. If i can find it, I’ll link it. Or, someone else will, I’m sure
I see more bugs in Orr than undeads
Well, it’s said that kittenroaches will be one of the only things to survive an apocalypse. Since that’s exactly what happened there, the bugs actually make sense ;P
you’re right, it is missing something…namely, the complete LOSS of the crafting system. honestly, they need to get rid of it.
I disagree with pretty much everything the guy talks about, with the exception of the story, and crafting. The story is a bit weak, and crafting (in ANY game) is so awful, that it should just be removed all together…permanently.
Define fun. You can’t.
Its purely subjective to each players experience and to add another highly subjective descriptor…their mood.
So far, it’s the way they made the jumping puzzle easier than the Halloween puzzle, but, still made it a challenge. I don’t mean that to be insulting. It tells me that they are seriously thinking about the people who had trouble with the Halloween puzzle. My belief is strengthened by the fact that they split everyone up onto 3 platforms, instead of everyone trying from the same one. Also, that they gave us something to do while waiting for the next round to start: Snowball Fights!!!.
It’s obvious that A-net works very hard on the holiday events, and I seriously hope everyone agrees with me when I say: Thank you, for all the hard work you put into these events!!!
P.S If an A-net employee can verify this (or at least give me a hint :P), can we expect to see a “Chinese New Year” like in in GW1?…or at least “spectral” mini pets??
They give the chest to people they feel deserved it, so the question is: “Are you asking for something you didn’t EARN?”
Wow..people are really upset about not getting the chest, yet….it probably doesn’t help when I say I got mine, opened it, and deleted all of its contents, because I didn’t feel I should be compensated for people missing a world event.
That’s like getting pissed at a movie theater, because I didn’t get to see “Ted” while it was there, and then demanding a free movie pass as compensation. That’s not cool…not cool at all.
As for the people that DC’d during the final battle…YOU ALL DESERVE the chest. the rest of you..not so much…maybe the people that lagged out, too…but not the ones that lagged cause they have crappy computers.
I got some rare Orrian pants, a rare wooden shield, “Yakingtons Gauntlets”, the exotic trident “Steamfire”, and the bag/ring.
I like these ideas, but, they’re too similar to what we have currently. Most of what you wrote is basically the same story, but, with a few twists, and changes. Allow me to explain.
Trahearne has died
It was a great blow to the Pact when insert next campaign’s dragon here launched an ambush on the Marshall. He was corrupted and inevitably slain by his second in command (the player character). The Pact crumbled under the blow. Each Order blamed each other (and themselves) for his death and separated, leaving Tyria vulnerable.
This is almost identical to the “Destiny’s Edge” story that unfolds later on in the game. Your idea differs only on a few minor details.
The Orders Re-visited
Your job, Commander insert your name, is to re-unite the Pact, starting with your own Order. You will inspire new recruits, sway dissenters, go on dangerous missions, and save the other Orders from certain demise, solidifying yourself as a leader that all Orders view as one of their own. You will become the new Marshall.
Once again, this follows the “Destiny’s Edge” story pretty closely. It’s what we do for THEM, except in larger scale (instead of re-uniting 5 people, your re-uniting 3 large orders). The other difference is just some “role reversal”. Instead of the “player-helps-NPC-become-leader” that we have now, it’s “NPC-helps-player-become-leader”.
But you won’t do it alone
You will need a partner. You will need an equal to replace the one you lost on Claw Island. They will fight for you as you set forth to re-unite Tyria against the dragons, eventually becoming your second-in-command.
This is also just “role reversal”.
Don’t get me wrong, I DO like these ideas, but, A-net really needs to come up with something different. By doing so, it gives us GW2 vets more incentive to, not only buy the new expansion, but, to keep playing in general. Also, you have to think about it from a “new player” perspective. If that “new player” plays through the current story, and then has to do roughly the same story in the new expansion, they will likely get bored with the game fairly quickly.
Don’t ask NCsoft, ask A-net. And who cares, it’s not important, yet. It’ll come when it comes. I want them too, but, I want them finished, not sooner.
things/people render very quickly for me, so maybe it’s you…..or maybe I’m just lucky lol
50+ People do not render “quickly” ( might give your definition of Quickly, for me thats instant ) for you in wvwvw, since it does for no one.A group this big will be invisible untill they are smacking away on you.Vice versa.
so…basically what you’re saying is: “I have a problem, so everyone has one, and that’s FINAL”. I understand you, and a lot of people have a problem. I don’t…deal with it. And my “definition” is: “Occurring, achieved, or acquired in a relatively brief period of time”. In other words, by the time I’m close enough to be hit, I can see the people hitting me. Is that clear enough?
The fundamental way the server side functionality works for player occlusion in large scale battles means sporadic loading and unloading of players, regardless of your hardware. Anecdotal evidence to the contrary is more likely to indicate a perceived lack of problems, rather than an actual full functioning game.
There are very few ways you and I can have vastly different experiences when the variability of such behaviour on the client side is so minimal. I’m talking seconds here. I am in a small server but we still get 50v50 zergs in WvW and I still have rendering issues. The entirety of my guild has rendering issues. Great swathes of players outside my guild have rendering issues. Some of these people have top of the line hardware (to no perceivably beneficial effect).
I believe the problem and your perception of having no problem may be two different things, as the server side functionality does not allow you to have ‘no problems’ in large scale battles. Perhaps your playstyle may minimise problems, but such a thing would certainly affect practically everyone except incredibly rare edge cases.
“except incredibly rare edge cases”
well, there you go, I’m a rarity.

They render quickly? Perhaps you are missing the gameplay element, im talking about large scale battles, i expirenced problems in big groups that didnt show player/monster models right off the bat. Its not about fast rendering, the models should be there long before i get within 20 yards
Sorry, i should have said that better lol. I’m talking about “in general”. Regardless of the “zerg” size, I haven’t had any issues with anything, or, anyone, rendering….yet lol
Q1. When did you begin playing? (post bw’s)
A1. Day 1 of the headstart (all three BWE)
Q2. how many hours total do you have? (/age)
A2. 405hrs., 20min.
Q3. What’s your most gold banked so far?
A3. 50 (spent much more, though)
Q4. Do you have a max level character (s)? (number if more than one)
A4. lvl 80 Ele. (working on my warrior, now. he’s lvl 55)
Q5. List 1-3 areas / zones / events / tp; where you spend most of your time for income.
A5. I run through them all, actually. I get bored running around in one area lol
Q6. Do you mainly use MF or not?
A6. I have a set of exotics packed with as much as i can get. It might not help A LOT, but, it’s something.
Q7. Have you ever got an exotic weapon from a mob? If so, how many and total?
A7. Just one so far. That’s to be expected, though. Anet already said that they were not expecting people to get exotics as quickly as they did. It was supposed to be something you had to really work for.
Q8. Have you ever got an exotic weapon from a chest? If so, how many and total?
A8. 2 from dungeons
Q9. What’s the most number of rare weapons you have looted in one day or 8hrs time?
A9. with my MF gear on, and boosters, I got over 10 in under 3 hours. It was during a bugged event, where wave after wave of mobs were coming, though.
Q10. How many rare or exotic weapons do you “expect” to loot in one hour of time?
A10. Well, i don’t EXPECT very many. I’m happy with what i get.
Q11. How many lodestones have you looted total so far? (all types)
A11. I haven’t really gone after them. One of these days, though.
Q12. Do you craft? If so, do you have a 400 crafter? if so, how many?
A12. I have no interest in crafting. It’s not that i feel anet did a bad job with it, it’s that i dislike it in general. It’s a shame that it’s required to craft a legendary. I guess the people like ME, who dedicate most of their free time to the game in ALL other aspects, don’t deserve a chance at a legendary item. I guess it’s cool to basically tell us “you can do something you hate, and have a legendary, or, you can kiss our kitten”
Q13. Do you sell your looted crafting mats? (specify optional)
A13. Yes, I do. For the reason listed above.
Q14. Do you feel your return, (in terms of items, completion, income, etc) for your time, has been worth it?
A14. It’s getting much better, but, it’s still not there, yet.
Q15. In ONE word, what needs improved most; from your perspective?
A15. I can’t think of something in “one word” lol. In my opinion, they need a secondary option for acquiring “legendary” items , that’s ENTIRELY different, from the current method. It would be nice for everyone to, at least, have an equal shot at getting one. Preferably a way that doesn’t force someone to do something they hate in the process.
things/people render very quickly for me, so maybe it’s you…..or maybe I’m just lucky lol
Basically you have a choice between JQ, SBI and BG.
Last time I played (mid november) everyone was jumping to those servers and I doubt the trend has discontinued.
apparently, you didn’t read everyone elses posts lol
weird, this is almost word for word identical to a thread I saw over a month ago. You wouldn’t happen to be re-posting something you already talked about before, would you?
I’m on “Borlis”, and I’ve yet to have any trouble finding a group for whatever I need.
Erik Kain, Contributor
In other words he is not a Frobes employee, just a random nobody giving his opinion.
Which forbes thought was quality enough to publish under their name. So I’m not sure that I understand the point you think you have.
Besides, I’m asking people whether they think this review resonates with them. Not what irrelevant details they’re able to spot.
I know what you’re saying, but, he’s right. The guy is a nobody giving his opinion. Forbes may have thought it was “quality” work, but, considering most of them have not even SEEN, let alone PLAYED, the game, they’re just taking his word for it.
I’ve had that happen. Once I switched attunement, it all came back. Not much of a problem.
Ok correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t the addition of “better than exotic” lvl80 gear, below legendary, just add a between step with horizontal progression?
Yes, yes it does. The problem is, people WANT to believe it’s the worst case scenario, so they bombard the forums with their conspiracies.
I didn’t know I needed a “play schedule”, but, I guess if I had one, it would be:
Play times:
“Whenever I want”
What I do in game:
“Whatever I feel like”
Play objectives:
“Kill everything in sight, tease people, pretend to help, actually help when i get bored of pretending, going to sleep after forming a dungeon party, making fun of people that crafted “Sunrise”…. and that’s about it.
Gaming Background: GW1, a little Aion, very little WoW, any game that has the kittens to allow the complete mutilation of a child (since that’s taboo, for some reason). that’s all you get, cause i’m bored.
As far a GW2 goes, I LOVE this game. “Gear-Treadmill” conspiracies, and all.
I like to play alone, because it makes things more challenging. I COULD kill that “champion mob” with a group of people, but, it’s more impressive, and rewarding to kill it by myself.
So we have vertical progression until lvl80, at which point we have horizontal progression? So why all the complaints about vertical progression in reguards to the new content?
People like to complain about ridiculous things on forums, for nothing more than the sake of complaining. That’s one of the “rules of the forum”
seriously?…why would you complain about something so insanely easy to prevent?. How hard is it to move a fraction of an inch? :/
Are you sure you’re not accidentally hitting “R” along with “F”?. I’ve done that a few times. I’m leaning toward this not being the case, but, I thought I should ask, just in case lol
Seriously, everyone needs to go do something else. This is getting really old, really fast. You keep complaining about “Gear-Treadmill”, but, what if Anet makes alternate methods to acquire “ascended” gear?. What if they make it so you can get an “ascended” weapon by putting 4 exotic weapons of the same type into the forge. Considering all the stats are built in, the chances of getting what you want are pretty low. So what do you do with it?. You put it on the TP. Since it’s “game-wide”, there will be a flood of “ascended” gear up for grabs, and the more there are, the cheaper they will BE. How hard did you have to “Grind” to buy the gear off the TP. If you’re like me, and have a lot of gold just sitting in the bank, then, not very hard. And, what if they add MORE ways. What if the add a way to get them through “crafting”?, or drops from “World Boss” chests??. The point is, we (which includes YOU) have NO IDEA what their plans are. So, if you gotta cry, then cry up a storm. Just don’t expect anyone to really care.
It has already started, and it will continue as more items of the new level will be introduced. “To fill the gap between exotic and legendary items”, the upcoming new legendary items will have to be better again. If this does not sound like a gear-treadmill…
Get the picture?
In 12 years of MMO experience, once a game started to head in this direction, it would not stop doing so. Like back in Asheron’s Call 2, everyone had nearly the same gear and the same level, but no, Turbine then thought it was a good idea to raise the level-cap to infinity and was splitting up the lil bit of community, till the game died.
This might not happen to GW2, but the point is, splitting up the community will end in elitism and the neverending hunger of some for better gear…
So, what your saying is, that as more “ascended” gear gets introduced, they would be forced to make “legendary” items that are more legendary than “Legendary” items, after the “legendary” items get boosted up to the stats they are intending for “legendary” items?
I noticed this when the 2nd part of the event kicked in. I ran the whole thing, and got 2 drops TOTAL. Both were junk. After that i ran around doing DE’s, and received another 3 drops. All were junk, again. In total I got 5 junk drops in a 3-4 hour period. Something is definitely wrong.
Fail… Wrong stat order is fail.

YEAH!!..and that baby is obviously not a year old, yet. SO how can it be a level 1 human???… kitten this angers me. If i wasn’t getting my head dunked in a toilet by some popular kids, i would SOOO be venting about it. ;/
With that babies Chr. score at 18, it would be a valuable ally when haggling with a car dealer.
I, too, agree about what you said. I’ve MORE than gotten my 60 bucks worth. I’ve even felt inclined to buy gems, from time to time. As long as A-net keeps releasing content the way they are, I’ll be around for a long while. I mean, look at what we’ve gotten so far. A Halloween event that spanned several days, which included a jumping puzzle that actually made you feel like you EARNED your reward. A world event that ALSO spanned several days, and included a permanent lvl 80 island, and a permanent dungeon. We’re more than likely going to get something similar for Christmas. AND, ITS ALL FREE CONTENT!!!. Whether you like the content, or NOT (I for one got screwed out of the final event due to work, but, that’s ok), you didn’t have to pay a DIME for it.
Yeah, the drops seem to have gotten pretty ridiculous. One of the problems is people start talking about how much COOLER that item is compared to some legendary weapons, and, how much easier it is to craft. When people do that, all they are doing is letting A-net know which items to reduce, so that GETTING that item will become a lot harder. They want you to invest your time in getting that item you want. It could even make you spend real money to GET it. So, it’s probably a good idea to do what I do: “Pick what item you want, and keep your mouth shut”
I feel we need a gear score.
If people can’t at least bring top of the line exotics, they may as well not exist or even reply to my LFG spam.
Do you have any idea how WRONG that is?. The person you turn away could be better, skill-wise, than YOU, or any of the other people in your group. A person with crappy skills, and the best exotics is, for the most part, equal to a person with a TON of skill, and CRAPPY armor. His “armor score” doesn’t matter if you can’t TOUCH him.
Think about it like this. That person could be intentionally handicapping himself as a way to increase his skill. By going into a battle weak, he has to try harder in order to win. It would be essential for them to study, and learn all the “Tells” that mobs, and other players show when they use a skill. Now, somebody that goes into battle with the best of everything, doesn’t have to try as hard. As a result, their reliance on skill starts to diminish, effectively making them weaker as a gamer. It’s for these kind of reasons, that I NEVER turn someone away when looking for a dungeon group. I’ll admit, not EVERYONE in crappy armor is skillful. Some ARE pretty bad. But, with that being said, I HAVE seen quite a few low level players out preform lvl80’s in dungeons.
….What does “ungreebly” mean?….
Used in a sentence for contextual meaning:
Everything not at peace, is ungreebly. When there is no greebling, that is the true grobble.
It sounds like something out of a “Dr. Seus” book to start with, and that quote at the end made it worse LOL
….What does “ungreebly” mean?….
Pretty much a must for BossBattle.
HA!!, Hair-Band style metal!!. I just might use this for it’s corny sound
So I don’t think you can give individual songs for every boss. I think I heard that you can put a few songs in it and it would randomly cycle through them. Not 100% sure on that though.
Since M3U files are specifically designed to create ordered playlists, I’d assume that if you had multiple files in the list, they’d play in the order that they appear in the M3U file. Can someone confirm?
No, it’s actually random
They certainly don’t require going to the internet, I and many others managed to figure out that jumping puzzle for the skill point/vista ourselves.
Oh and if you think cows are stupid wait till you get to the cattlepult…
You’ll be happy to hear that Orr has no hearts. Only lots and lots and lots of Risen. The low level 1-15 areas are an introduction and higher level areas have more enemies and unique hearts. If you don’t like Diessa, you don’t have to be there, you can go elsewhere.
Grats. You and your friends got that vista and skill point in Diessa. Well done.
I’ve spent over an hour trying to figure it out and gave up for now (was getting a headache). I won’t “google it” to find the solution because I consider that cheating, so I will try again soon. I do all the zones for 100% completion so I will go back someday.
I’m not complaining either…. I actually enjoy it. GW2 has some situations, puzzles, and objectives that I personally find very challenging and this makes playing GW2 much more fun for me than most any other current MMO. I am old in real life and the jumping puzzles can be very frustrating since my hands don’t work as well as they used to. Even with that I still am enjoying GW2 more than I thought I would originally.
Now if I could just get used to Charr being “good guys”.
Yeah, that skill point/vista was a pain. But in a GOOD way. Once you figure it out, it’s actually kind of fun. It makes you feel like you EARNED it, by battling your way up.
