Bought over 40+ flame legion things for 20s a pop. I started doing this with 1g. I put 4 minutes into breaking with black lion salvage kits gained from finding keys to chests.
I skyrocketed to 8g+ because the cost of ectos and the promised gem I get for using the sal kit. It was great. I’ve sold all my ectos for tons of cash.

I am quite new to the game, highest level is 36, what is FotM? and how is it killing the game?
Fractals of the Mist. Mini-dungeons that you can run from Lion’s Arch. They’re easier and a lot faster and scale in difficulty. More you complete the higher the difficulty level the more rewards and then you are forced to acquire Ascended gear to advance further because of the Agony stat that occurs at Fract level 10? I think.
No one is running regular dungeons because the rewards for fractals are better. The system is designed to promote elitism and people being turned away for not being able to run the fract fast enough, level, or class, or even what gear they are wearing (quality wise).
Everything that went against Arena Net’s promise about Guild Wars 2.

Looks like Jade Quarry made some enemies with the stuns they pulled last round. They’ve lost nearly everything they owned at the moment with a whopping 90 points.
Sea of Sorrows is off to a respectable start with 380 points and Stonemist. People were talking about green in Eternal Battlegrounds being the easier of the three to defend so we’ll see how well they keep JQ and SBI out of their homes!
Stormbluff Isle has finally woken up out of their turkey comas, we’ve queue times in all of our borderlands and commanders out en force. I think we’ll hold second. SoS is riding the victory high so who knows if they’re going to lose this round.
If you win too much though SoS you’ll get fat and lazy like we were. Just a warning! Good game and don’t fight fair.

As people said for #2 there are a multitude of reasons that you might not be privy to. Such as rallying off a kill while being ressed, signet ressed, banner ressed, or something akin to those options.

We are on the same server. What you’re saying isn’t entirely true. If you are SBI and you want to fight SoS you are going to need to stay on your side of the map. Jade Quarry is going to want to push you out so you don’t establish a hold and SoS is going to have to defend on two fronts. Hills and Bay areas. Once Jade Quarry or Stormbluff Isle pushes far enough into SoS lands they’ll fight SoS.
Instead of having an equal triangle map, just try to think of it like how I explained. You have a small piece of land and you want to get to the prize, lets say Garrison, but so does Jade Quarry. It makes sense that you’d have to fend off JQ. What you suggest might be an easy 3 sided fight but thats what EB is for.
Quite literally if you’ve been in Eternal Battlegrounds it has been just one big giant clusterhug. I leveled Shylandrass up in WvW, played with PookieBear and probably going to level Jello Gangsta Cosby in WvWvW. I think I have enough experience to say that the maps are typically so flippy-floppy in the Borderlands that you could fight SoS all day long then suddenly JQ owns the whole kitten map out of the blue. I like it how it is now.

Stormbluff Isle has gotten Outmanned buff, a rare thing. We’ve had it a couple times during the week so we know our WvWvW presence is weakened probably by holidays and stuff. Unless its time when the Koreans get on, we had a small queue time say early morning today for EST.
Before the event though queue times ranged. Probably averaged 10 minutes? Other times they can be just obnoxiously long.

I don’t know, I really like the server rallying. Take Sea of Sorrows for instance. Freshly Tier 1. Every server is feeling the Thanksgiving/new content crunch right now but they did remarkably well. Now everyone on SBI is going to smash into them next week and reclaim our rightful place as Number 1. And Sea of Sorrows will have to work harder to keep their position. You could tell just by their tenacity that they wanted to be there and earned that position. That is lessened by “bandwagoners” I could only imagine how much worse that would be.
Destruction of server pride would be lame. A pop cap increase would be nice I guess but all in all I really oppose the Spvp concept in WvW. It isn’t a bad system but one I just don’t think would work well with what we currently have.
On a slightly off topic note: I think multi cultural server team work is also amazing. SBI has a strong Korean population and despite minor clashes and language barriers I think the concept is amazing. That is also how SoS secured their position, by having strong oceanic times. It would be a little unfair to mix that up on them. We don’t speak Korean a lot of them don’t speak English but the coordination is cool because people like Cloned who speak both languages.
Imagine being stuck with a bunch of Koreans who you can’t communicate to or understand? Just imagine them being stuck with us who they can’t understand. Organization I think might be a little rough. Right now its near perfect.

At least on Tier 1 roles are becoming more defined. Elementalists are defending with swirling winds and keeping siege alive so that they may harass keeps. Mesmers are quickly becoming transporters. Thieves are used to harass keeps and contest waypoints deep in enemy lines to disrupt reinforcements.
Roles are becoming more defined as time passes by. We’re figuring out what classes excel at what, what skills bring what to the table. Personally, I think it is awesome and gives individuals a chance to shine when they’re needed. Becoming an individual and not just a zerg hive minder.
That leaves a few classes though. Warrior, Guardian, Engineers, Necromancers, and Rangers. I am curious to hear if people notice any really defining roles played by these classes. I think we should speculate on what they can bring to the table. Tactics are developing, strategies are forming, and things are going from just mindless zerg activity to thought out action.
I wanted to love Warhammer Online and I played it for a while but something was lacking and I feel Guild Wars 2 succeeded where Warhammer may have dropped the ball. It is awesome to see the developments unfold.

I linked a waypoint 3 times within and hour and got suppressed. Why? Because different events popped up and I was doing map completion so figured might as well weasel some karma out of it too. Keep in mind that was VERY spread out. It was absurd, I made a post and had screen shots and we learned that time between doesn’t matter at all.
It is absurd. I’ve had team members get spam locked trying to advertise for a group. Yet gw2walmart.com spam is all over. They don’t seem to have much of a problem but we do.

Oh! And to those JQ who pushed SBI off Langors… curse you. Curse you, curse you, curse you so hard. I had been joking about Langors for days because I am stuck at 99% map completion and I need that PoI. The door was almost down I almost got it and then you had to come and wipe us.

SOS is doing very well in T-1. They are a friendly, if not annoying group that understands the game and strategies. Looking forward to more fights with you.

Very fun and intense fights in this match up, even though SoS have the lead, there are so many times when it just doesn’t feel like it because we’re getting hammered, yet somehow we survive!
This is what WvW is all about!
It was a bad week in general for Stormbluff. Typically we have queues on all maps. With FotM and the event weekend coupled with Thanksgiving we’ve had enough people to hang in by a thread.
It’ll be interesting to see how the next match up plays out, hopefully no distractions and no outmanned buffs for any side.

SoS has remarkable coverage. NoPe does well during east coast’s night/early morning, but the Koreans around 7-9am manage to push more. So far Jade Quarry, SoS, and SBI have been equal with flips here and the battle was always at SM. Which makes getting points deep in enemy lands just difficult.

I think transferring off to another server to get 100% map completion (if not clever) is a quite silly expectation and one that I don’t think AreaNet had or should have. Good luck, Seren. I got furious because Jade Quarry wiped SBI off Langor’s. I’ve been trying for days. This is like the first time in 4-5 days they’ve even gone near Langors and that was only because SoS flipped their main keep so Langors wasn’t 100% covered with siege from the keep.
The likely hood for SBI to get ogreswatch or whatever is low. Unless we luckily roll that color or whatever. I dont know how colors are determined. Its at best annoying. I love WvW and I love map completion but I seriously do not support the combination of both. Give a reward for completing WvW maps that is really nice and good incentive but don’t count it toward PvE world completion.

I actually just had made a thread about this on the wvw forums and had it removed and I got infracted for it “frivolous” thread. I agree entirely and have had people agree in map chat. I am 99% done with the map but at this rate I won’t be able to complete it because SBI is not able to push that far in EB.
Neither is Jade Quarry. Neither is Sea of Sorrow. That is 3 entire servers that every single person on cannot achieve map completion at this time and the 4-5 days already of the same scenario. Not to mention thats only how long I saw the problem going, could have been weeks now.

Since the moderators here are overly heavy handed I will be more specific and not bring a joking attitude to threads.
The current game design requires 3 Borderlands and Eternal Battlegrounds completed for 100% map completion in the game. The design is poorly thought out, I think, because you need to get 100% map completion for legendaries right? Which means that WvWvW is severely limiting to who can get it.
Right now SoS, JQ, and SBI are hardly flipping anything in Eternal Battlegrounds. Mendons if SBI pushes really hard. I need Langors and a couple other keeps in the NE side of the map. I’ve been here for days, probably 10+ hours a day and no such luck. I’m not alone as I mentioned it in map chat and people responded with similar numbers. 99%, 98% and so forth.
I can’t understand why that the WvW maps would be included especially where 3 of them are identical. Does anyone else support the idea of removing them from map completion? The new map doesn’t count towards the total but 2 new PoIs were added to Lions Arch. That makes me believe it wouldn’t be entirely difficult for that change.
And there isn’t any other down-to-business methods of me delivering this thread so if it just gets infracted have fun with the iron fist.

This is pointless. You are saying that a stealth based 1 trick pony beat you 1v1 so it is overpowered. There is no arguing that because you refuse to acknowledge even the basest of truths. The thief class will excel 1v1. They will not excel or be able to prolong their stealth period with a competent group with competent being the key word.
You cannot complain a ranger killed you at range nor can you complain a guardian healed in a fight with you but you willingly complain about a thief killing you and turning invisible during a fight with you. I have stood by thieves not being able to prevent caps despite being a thief myself mainly. I refuse to accept that because a select few complain about factors outside of that that the class is OP, despite not even using stealth as a mechanic myself. I bet none of you considered the steal command and the skill gained through that which allows stealth. Hair tuft anyone?
This becomes pointless and stale. One side will not budge and accept that thieves cannot do what they say while the other side will insist that their class cannot do as proclaimed and through ignorance it should be assumed that neither side can or will submit to the logic of the other thus rendering this entire thread and the contents within pointless.

The only people defending the broken thief class ARE thieves themselves. Sorry but your class is broken, played right you have 50% stealth up time, always getting first hits and worse comes to worse peace I’m out. I agree yes they should excel at one vs one fights, but at this point in time, the class is broken.
Fight Cute Lil Pookiebear on Stormbluff Isle. I never stealth and I defend the class because I understand that those who suggest we’re perma-stealthed have no understanding of the class itself. If a thief is perma-stealthing off of you he is hitting you with I believe Cloak and Dagger which refreshes his stealth.
You would know this if you put even an ounce into researching the class.
As a sword/pistol whip thief the guy who suggested we could perma stealth is just asinine. I think we have one stealth ability which is a utility skill I don’t use so excuse the lack of name, its the one with the house icon and small sphere radius. And that is not perm stealth.
You also forget that if a thief disengages you ALSO gain health or have access to your health skill.
I urge both sides to be reasonable. To research the classes and to form an understanding. I play a thief. I also play other classes, Betty Whites Monkey was out there earlier. Please, lets build on our community with understanding and knowledge and ease off accusations that buckle and bow before logic and truth.

SBI has not held on for the majority of the weekend. We were pushed out of the map. Monday and Sunday we’ve done well and clung to what we owned but before that we’ve had a weak presence. We were pushed out of a map (don’t remember the name) until WM took over C Rex reclaimed. In EB we were pushed to base until we reclaimed our map. AP and QL as far as EB is concerned is where our fight is at.

You’re mistaken at least in Tier 1. SBI is green and is not the best server then again it was also a very weak presenced weekend. That isn’t a word I know but I made it a word.

The main problem with thieves is they can use stealth not only to open the fight but at the same time to end the fight.
Low on health? Poof, Im stealthed. Poof, Im teleported. Poof, Im gone.
Way to much escape abilities imo.
Stealth opener? OK. Massive damage? OK. Massive escape abilities? NO. Not all with the same build!
THAT IS A SINGLE BUILD. I can’t stealth. I cannot run away. You are talking about the one trick pony stealth build but you wanna destroy the class for everyone else? You’re talking about an infiltration class. Report the damage done and then ORGANIZE and AoE on them. It is that simple. From one thief player to the game, it is as simple as that. Stop complaining that stealth spec’ed players can stealth away. If I took the house stealth thingy I’d lose my crit chance, my speed buff, or my power buff. So I’d be less effective but able to run off.
You’re talking about one or two builds here that in WvW as you’re posting in WvW forums can be countered by AoE. You don’t see the damage done but you do hit them if you aim where they are and if they break off and run to regen you disengage and regen as well.

Misleading and wrong you can die in stealth. I’ve pistol whipped thieves to death who’ve stealthed. AoE can and will hurt them. Flames from guardians reported as sticking despite stealth. EVERY class that stealths in EVERY game gets this sort of crap poured on them and it boils down to learning how to effectively play, understanding that Thieves are 1v1 classes, and knowing that despite all your luck and skill you will lose some fights. I urge you all to research thieves.
I said before, I found it the hardest class to play effectively and I am still bad at the class. It isn’t as easy as it looks and I seriously urge you all to just try to accept that for a moment and either roll one or watch videos to get a look on the other side.

mechanics mechanics mechanics…yeah the mechanics of the thief are broken. To me, it seemed like anet was against the idea of the typical perma stealth thief that is guaranteed to have the opening in the fight, so instead they just gave the thief several short stealth skills….
This turned out to be worse than the traditional way because the thief can stealth multiple times in combat, while the traditional why, while provided the thief with perma stealth, only 1 or 2 skills allowed him to go stealth in combat.
why is it frustrating? because regardless of the thieves build (most of which currently are ahead of every other build available to most classes in burst or survivability) even if you somehow manage to “win” a fight, the thief will just stealth and walk away. And dont let me even start on culling issues.
I think stealth should be redesigned…right now it’s too spamable, the thief should have a choice between using it defensively for a near guaranteed escape, or offensively to deal more damage than I can deal in 10 seconds in less than 2 seconds before I can even see them. Most classes that have such fight determining abilities (e.g. aoe stun, stability etc) have to make the choice between using them offensively or defensively.

The thief excels at 1v1 combat so yes he can stealth repeatedly. In WvW the problem is people being stupid and not stacking up. It is giving the thief the option to remain stealthed because you refuse to do a simple counter tactic. I play thief but I don’t use stealth and I facepalm every time a thief does this to a group. If you complain about being 1v1ed by a thief I don’t know what to say to you other than the class is designed to be that way.
You’re entirely mistaken about stealth. Regardless of build I can stealth and walk away? The stealth circle maybe but if you remain still for a moment and anticipate where he may run off to you might be able to counter him which is precisely what myself and a guildie did outside of dreaming bay.
Learning the mechanisms of your enemy leads to greater success when dealing with them.

This is why I find I cannot take a single word people say about thieves at face value. If someone has haste and pistol whip, they have limited stealth, if they have stealth at all.. So do you actually play a thief or just yet another troll saying he does to make a point, that turns out is incorrect?
I am totally fine with folks pointing out issues with the class. Some I will agree with, others I may not, but I will read it and pay attention. Just post in an informed manner, or ask questions to be informed.

That is the way of the world here though. We’ve on SBI lost SM pushes with 20 golems (exaggerated) but we lost them because of resets. It happens and we’re never going to be catered to and it will never be a good time to reset WvW. The best thing you can hope for mate is just take the warning and abandon plans or ask them for a longer warning. Sucks but what can you do.

I played a warrior first and thought, “This class is crazy easy.” Then I played a ranger and was like, “This is easy but not as easy as my warrior”. I rolled a guardian and was like, “Beats ranger and warriors.” Then I rolled a thief and I don’t find the class that easy at all. I run sword/pistol. Popping haste and pistol whipping will churn out high numbers. Great survivability? I don’t know about you but the majority of the thieves that I see are downed rather quickly with anything resembling focused fire.
You have to choose vitality or crit damage I believe so you either live longer with less boom or more boom and less life. If I focus on a single target I can drop a player quickly because that is the design of the class. I then have to either fight someone else quite quickly or back out and throw myself in the fray on my own terms.
I am not even a good thief and I am able to overtake people easily because of things they do wrong. Straying too far out from the herd, trying to keep a range on me while I am sword/pistol despite being locked up in melee is horrible for me because I have chosen to go the route of more power less health.
Quite frankly, the thieves being able to single handedly prevent caps is the only broken mechanic. Play a thief, watch a video of a thief playing, get some ideas on how to counter and stop edging for a nerf. I plan on playing all classes so it isnt even a plea for Anet to not nerf my class since I have several 80s already.
Skilled players should win also.

So I sent a few materials for this person to make me a pistol. Since it was a risky thing I documented the entire interaction. I don’t want to say they scammed me because if it really was a problem with the mail I’d feel bad.
So I created this thread to just see if there is anything I can do to get my items back? I have it all documented. And if not and I got scammed, is there anything I can do? I lost a ton of cash on it.

WoW had 1 time events for launching their expansions. Literally one time events. At least everyone will have the content around. Every time ArenaNet does anything event filled the forums are just going to get over crowded with people grumpy at it.
If it is a cinematic, youtube should be good enough (in the sense you at least get to see it). If it is a real one time event, that does suck, but at least the content afterwards is there.

If you use skills such as “Pistol whip” which has an initial charge bar, or use the stolen skill with the hatchet icon then immediately hit steal again, you’ll teleport to the opponent (doing massive damage if you crit from Mug) and then proceed to stun them with pistol whip and then the follow up damage could nearly drop a person instantly.
I am not sure if being able to use skills and then pop steal without it interupting these skills was intended, especially since moving when using the skills will stop you. As least with pistol whip.

I think if you complete the daily consecutively for say seven days you get something neat. Maybe a dye pack or a random little critter. Nothing overpowered at all but rewards those faithful individuals who log in every day.

This entire post is one minor spoiler. If you have not done this puzzle then you may not want to read.
I love jumping puzzles and spent last night doing a bunch. I found Chaos Crystal Caverns to be awesome. Shrinking and growing was fun. However, one effect made me entirely sick and almost gave me a migraine instantly.
I don’t think that field of vision alterations are appropriate especially with such blinding flashes. I suggest that part be removed as it causes adverse physical reaction to myself and I’m sure (otherwise wouldn’t post this!) other individuals. The other affects were fine, the growing and shrinking and what not. Maybe switch FoV for polymorphing?
I take medication to prevent migraine and the second my FoV got jacked up and the flashing started it just plowed right through that medicine. I feel horrible for people who get headaches or motion sickness from FoV problems.

Legendarys were meant to actually be legendary. So not everyone is going to have one or even want to put in the effort to get one. Those that do want them will put in the effort and be rewarded for it.
If you view it as pixels in a game then just find a cheap armor/weapon skin you like and focus on another aspect of the game.
