Anyone else tried to enter a portal in a pve zone to EOTM, only to say wvw is unavailable? Seem to be able to access via the wvw menu though.
My understanding is that they should be in the collection tab at the same time for it to count. Only a more dedicated collector will know better

You didn’t need to defeat Marionette, participation was enough. In fact I believe you could go there without even going near the bosses – it just wasn’t clear enough in the game that you could do so.

Is the Secret Lair also accessible somewhere if I participated but didn’t defetaed the Marionette? I was under strong assumption that you need to defeat that event to access both the story and the lair.
Before EOTM you could go to the lair at any time regardless of boss participation (I presume it is still accessible). You need 50 of the keys from the thumper thingys around the world if they are still obtainable. Without the story instance you will probably need to look up the exact location of her lair since the living story pointer will have gone now.

Still not sure if it needed to go away though. One of the advantages in instances is that they can ignore the flow of time in a game/story.

Mine sucked last week, great this week. Its RNG – they stated they would mention any deliberate nerfs. Any accidental would need people to salvage a massive massive number to provide them with evidence of any change.
Run of bad luck? You should have seen my ecto salvage return last week lol.
Raising the level cap could be a catastrophic move for them. Doing that and not making legendaries scale? It would draw a line in the sand we would be so over we would no longer be able to see it.
Although they have never ruled out raising level cap (they’ve never said they would either), I would never expect to see it happen. Too many would refuse to re-grind for all their gear (not just legendary) and if all gear scaled, well why raise the cap?
It is annoying and it is something so easily overcome – it doesn’t even need programming time because it can go in the patch notes. This thread comes up every week, has been posted countless number of times in the CDI but it never gets a response. Whilst not ideal for everyone, the advice Lordkrall gives is pretty sound to go on.
Also, whilst its usually 2 weeks or a month, there have been times it has been different. A couple of metas carried on longer and whilst it was the first update of a month was 4 weeks and the 2nd update 2 weeks, that has changed as well. So it can be tricky to know when an update will change.
An interesting experiment! Certainly intrigued to see if you made any profit.
And yeah ouch on the giant eyes. 2.7k hours, never seen one drop – and ive opened thousands of bags – heavy and large!
Marionette is attempted regularly on my lower population server. Wurm – no idea as I only attend the weekend organised ones. Still hit overflwo in Lornars every 2hrs if I try to go there though so def not dead on all servers.
Not sure what pve content is next, but the devs said most of the story was outside of EOTM, so we shall see tomorrow!

There are very rare exclusive wurm skins yes. And a mini pet. For the top tier there was also bragging rights of first kill and ofc a Wurm specific meta title.
I believe from one post I read it was killed far sooner than expected – was meant to to take weeks before the first kill.

No news whatsoever as to when or if they will be implemented I’m afraid.
What would your suggestion be though? You hit overflow because the server is full. If it was suddenly removed, you would be queued up to enter and have no access to the event at all. They can’t increase the server population due to what happened with Lost Shores.
Luckily the main story isn’t very good so missing it is not as bad is it could be. Imagine if it were Game of Thrones quality.

Well written post. I agree about aquabreathers and azurite. This does seem an odd oversight.
Had no issues on my ele which was a surprise to me. He is lvl 80 though, so wasn’t on level which is probably why. Dodging (obv) combined with conditions also helped.
I remember having a tougher time on my warrior though on my first run though the game and roughly on level. It’s nice having to feel like you need to earn a skill point at least!
I doubt they have a full crew on a Sunday, so any resources will be committed to fixing it. I’m sure when it is done we will be told. I wouldn’t get expect any update before though.

I find that I post and hope and hope for some response, and usually never get one because the same 2-3 posters are basically having a 1 on 1 conversation with our fabulous dev (even going as far to act like friends talking about outside forum contact and such) which makes it feel like nothing we say (especially if it isn’t in concordance with those specific posters) really matters.
I know that this is not Chris’s fault, and it is normal for a conversation to sort of lead in one direction if the same posters are posting every minute, but it does seem to me very cliquey, and that turns me off from posting (especially after the thread has gone on for a couple days).
Seconded about the clique comment along with Laurels (and Cookie!!). It’s also veering off into an overly micro-managed and bureaucratic space now and that will put people like myself off who have to deal with that on a day-by-day basis in their work life and hate seeing it dip into their entertainment time. It’s a feedback/community thread – lets keep the tone appropriate to it

They are very well aware of such a large amount of people wanting the rest of Tyria and ofc also Cantha and Elona. I wouldn’t expect to see the other continents for a couple of years if they happen, but new zones on the map would be a reasonable expecatation for this year in my mind.

Desolation, Blackgate and overflow that I have seen posted about, with a few closing in lower down the server levels. I know of some servers getting wurm specific guilds together to try and get some consistent organisation (which is what it is designed for)
Jormag – they likely missed some safe spots in the change to him. So it is an oversight
Golem – seems random, although east side seems to get the fields less. That is largely anecdotal though from my P.O.V.
Destroyer – dragging him out of the lava means melee ppl wont have to burn alive if they are stacking and also means his champ chest drop doesn’t get dropped in the death pool of flames!
Shaman – sounds like a bug. Never seen this happen regardless of zerg size

Mace/Shield will give you 2 blocks and you can trait for reflects and extra toughness on top of that. If you can keep the cooldowns managed and remove conditions, its useful on the frontline or in kiting I’ve found (I’m no wvw expert tho – thaoo’s advice is likely sounder)
Anet should just remove the slayer sigils and incorporate their effects into the slayer achievements.
You killed 1000 Centaurs? You’ll do 2% more Damage against Centaurs..
You killed 5000 Centaurs? Youll do 10% more Damage against Centaursand so on until you reach a certain Damage Booster Cap.
Those Slayer Achievements should just reflect the expereince of your character in slaying a certain enemy type. So more you killl a certain enemy type, so more expereinced does your character become in killing them and this should get reflected by a small Damage Boost (or/ or maybe other little positive nice effects)
And this would allow Anet to reduce a bit the amount of Sigils, because lets face it, these slyer sigils are totally obsolete, nobody uses them, because there exist just alot better more useful sigils, than those slayer sigils that give you only a damage boost against 1 single specific enemy type and then even not a real siginificant one that makes up for a real big difference. 10% is just too less to make up for a real siginificant difference. 25% makes up for a real difference.
Titles should also reflect back some kind of character progression.

Marionette has been finished on almost if not all servers, inc some of the low end ones on a regular basis though?
Wurm was designed for an elite type of group rather than all players. It wasn’t aimed at Blackgate (have BG completed yet – I know of 3 victories, but haven’t seen them mentioned yet?).
If this is a serious post, I’m not entirely sure why you would think it’s designed for BG only when other servers are getting along with LS.
edit: just seen that BG are now one of the few servers to achieve a wurm victory. Still doesn’t change anything tho

It is one of the best legendaries in the game and looks awesome on most chars I have seen it on (I presume you have already previewed it off the TP to see what it looks like on your guardian?)
What Vol says it pretty much correct though – if you plan on selling, you only really want to make the most expensive you can.
Only you can answer the question of whether you will use it though. I’d have made one myself, but the Jade Dragon shield suited my toon more!
Bobby, how far ahead do you plot your story season? For example, is season 2 already outlined? Obviously I know you will evolve it and change bits as time/feedback progresses, I’m just curious if you have an overall direction already laid down for S2 and even S3.
It would be interesting post-season 1 to show the process behind how the story was conceived and put together – eg did you have this story in mind from launch? Or did it evolve later in the year? When you had the story in mind, did you know details like the Tower in Kessex Hills specifically, or would that come into play only when you designed that chapter?

I believe Tequatl was meant to take weeks for a kill. A testament to perseverance that it was, what 2 days? The difficulty is as intended I’m afraid – they aimed it at a specific difficulty level, expecting a majority to dislike it.
I have no issue with that really. I see no reason elite content shouldn’t be in the game for those wanting that kind of content. I think they got the right balance with a moderately challenging boss (marionette) Vs elite (wurm) this time and would expect future releases to have such balance going forward.

One final thing, I believe somewhere you mentioned talking about the immediate impacts CDI has had already on the game. Before or during your next CDI, I think you should round up those ideas that have been impactful and are viewable in game already. There are still people out there who aren’t seeing the benefit or point of these threads and I think a ‘celebration of success’ post – even if it is a bullet point summary in the initial post of the next big CDI – would be very much in the initiatives favour.
And if people present their ideas differently to the format, will they be ignored/deleted/encouraged to re-write?
The devs picking the topic would be useful as it would guide design towards areas they are currently focused on.
If for example Guild improvements was something looking to be developed this year and community feedback was an essential part of that process, then that would make an ideal CDI.
