Minions:
We weren’t quite content with how minions were implemented, so we removed the minion utilities completely and added them as a couple of minor traits similar to ‘Reanimator’. Those new traits can be found as the 5-point-minor-trait of every trait line

Fear:
Some fear durations were overpowered so there are some minor tweaks to a couple of fear-related abilities:
Reaper’s Mark: From 1s to 0.3s
Doom: From 1s to 0.4s
Fear: From 2s to 0.6s
Other fear-causing abilities are balanced and remain unchanged.
The trait ‘Master of Terror’ has been removed.

i am currently using 2 of them:

imo the only rather ‘elegant’ sword that fits a mesmer. the skin is sold by a karma merchant in the snowy eastern part of gendarran fields (edit: sheriff bloodclaw sells them).

because of all the traits and skills i would love to use, but are bugged or just plain bad.

Just look into the Necro-bug-thread.

Some examples for bad trait stuff:
-Reanimator: so far the only trait i encountered that is worse than not having a minor trait there at all.
-transfusion: doesnt scale with healing
-deathly invigoration: horribly low heal
-vampiric: ridiculously low lifesteal
-wells can heal enemies
and so on…

and then theres the DS:
-the auto-attack is a bit slow and for conditionmancers, it is useless
-dark path: looong cast time, easy to dodge/etc.
-life transfer: again, useless for conditionmancers
-you dont see boons/conditions while in DS
-the fact that an explanation how the DS-mechanic works in detail is almost non-existant (but thats a rather common gw2-problem)
-the horrible underwater-version of DS

the mainhand dagger got some issues aswell:
-#2 doesnt do that much
-#3: a single immobilize, nothing more and thats just boring, try to compare it to similar skills that other classes have. if that wouldve been a guardian-skill im sure it would be AoE, heal your allies, damage everything around the target, burn or blind them aswell, lets you fart rainbows for 10 secs. etc.etc.
-no mobility. every single melee weapon-set in the game got some sort of gap-closer. except for the necro-dagger.

and not to mention the stupid minions…

yeah, this is pretty kittened up.
when they continue to fix our bugs at this rate, maybe we can enjoy a mostly bug-free necromancer in 2015.
but worse than the fact that they fixed almost nothing in this big patch is that theres absolutely no statement about why exactly they barely do anything.

Except for the torch, i love all of them.
Pistol is just great and both, pistol and focus, are awesome in WvW. Too bad that you need a long range weapon and you cant take both of them in WvW.

Offhand Sword is interesting too, but most of the time i just stick with pistol since the duelist stays safer and applies more bleeds.

Torch looks weak. Maybe its good in groups with the blast finisher and the AoE-blind, but besides that it has nothing useful to offer. Was fun when Prestige hat a recharge of 3secs tho.

Anyone that uses rifles, namely Engineer and Warrior. Thief fits into iron legion aswell as ash legion.
Elementalists are a good choice too, since fire/earth magic might come in handy when you try to craft stuff out of metal. And most of the time they arent sneaky enough to be Ash legion imo.

tried that with superior sigil of earth and illusions (both types and without sharper images ofc) and no bleeds were applied.

I just quit WOW for this game> GW2 is 100% better but one thing i do miss is the mounts! i dont enjoy having to run every were i want to go! please add in some mounts asap

You have waypoints, you are faster out of combat and you have abilities to make you even faster. That should be enough.

Dagger Mainhand range is fine, imo.
Its supposed to be a melee-weapon, you know?
Same with the spear.
Dagger auto-attack could need some extra tho, like the weakness you want to give to the axe.

Life Siphon is a bit boring, most of the time i dont use it and auto-attack instead. Could use some more healing and i wouldnt mind a trait (Bloodthirst maybe) that turns it into an AoE-Heal.

Dark pact would be OP, if it would hit multiple enemies. RIght now, it is okay. Useful in WvW, somewhat useful in PvE.

Reapers Touch: Good skill; its the vulnerability/regeneration that counts, not the damage. Let regeneration have an effect while in DS and all is fine.

Spinal Shivers: Good skill in WvW, in PvE it WOULD be good if there were some mobs that actually use Boons. So far the only boon-using mobs i have encountered are some undead in Orr, some Jotuns and the dredge (and its a waste of time to remove the boons from dredge). Could need some higher Damage or shorter Casting time or both.

Reapers Mark: 3 seconds of fear is too long; the mobs would wander to Narnia in that time. I’d prefer 1,5-2 seconds of fear or a shorter Cooldown.

Spear-ability no.5, Dark Spear, needs some changes. That self-disable has to go. Why would you pull yourself to an enemy and disable yourself when you can just pull the enemy to you (Spear-skill no.4)?

Trident-abilities are horrible imo. Its supposed to be a ranged weapon but has 2 point blank-AoE-skills.
And Sinking tomb has nothing besides the sinking-effect, while other classes’ sink-skills have stuff like damage, regeneration (for allies) etc.

have a few different skins for skills aswell, like:
-necromancer minions, for example the gw1-flesh golem skin or some undead monkeys instead of bone minions.
-warrior standarts (they could show the guild emblem!)
-engineer turrets and weapon kits (some race-specific turret-skins would be awesome)

thats stuff i would totally spend my money on.
if thats too distracting or misleading in sPvp, then there should be an option to turn it off tho.

thats why none of my 3 charr ever shows shoulder armor.

and not only the shoulders, all the shields i found so far look awful too.

chose the second-fattest male charr appearance available btw.

does this get any better?

not sure if intended or not, but:
regeneration doesnt do anything while you’re in death shroud. your normal HP stay the same.
which is really frustrating considering how many sources of regeneration necros have.
and ‘full of life’ gets even worse because of this.
(it thats not intended, i apologize, but nowhere in the game, this site or the wiki is stated that you cant regen/be healed while in DS)

Diablo III made it right. Just add a checkbox in the options:

So you found a build that is kinda effective?
Congratulations, that what most people here did. The problem is that there arent MANY of these builds.
A rather big part of the necro skills/traits are crap, bugged or boring.

Dagger mainhand for example. i play with it and i think its effective, but i really only use the auto-attack in PvE. Life siphon isnt worth the cast time and you barely need dark pact.

And i think every necro player would love to play a class with the majority of its abilities actually working.

just something I was hoping for, since I love the idea of the longbow ranger, but dislike pets in general. a trait that removes the pet and does something else, increase damage, range, speed, something along those lines.

it should be a beastmastery grandmaster trait and not give any compensation for the loss of the pet.

srsly, play warrior if you want a marksman without a pet.

at least some of them.
a Life-Blast version with conditions for conditionmancers would be cool.
and something else than dark path for every weapon except dagger-necs.

The ‘everything is endgame’-thing is a lie and the downscaling is not consequent enough, which really bugs me.
But i had a lot of fun leveling and playing.

Is it just me or is temporal curtain sometimes simply not working?

Very often it is cast (with animation), the spell is on cooldown, but the wall disappears as soon as it is cast.

i gave up looking for a non-skirt pants item and just picked the Shadow leggings.
Im quite content with it, only that stretched bird skull makes me want to slap the responsible armor designer…
Was a tough decision between the wraith mask and the tier1 cultural armor ‘Invoker helm’ tho.
My real favourite chestpiece wouldve been ‘paggas garb’:

Some parts of the current system are just stupid.
For example that it costs you to travel into capitals and from one capital to another.
Since you can travel via Heart of the mists to Lions Arch for free, you dont really walk or pay anyway; you just spend more time looking at loading screens.

That being said, its a good thing that travelling costs something. It emphasizes you to do something in the areas you visit or at least makes you think about where to go instead of hopping around like a frog.
And it isnt really expensive either. From Lions Arch, nothing costs more than 2s50c

Hi,
since i am in dire need of necromancer-like clothing, i am looking for the ‘PVP Masquerade Armor’, as it is shown in the preview at the PvP-lockers in the heart of the mists.

In PvE, the Masquerade Armor (that you can craft as a tailor) looks completely different and i was wondering if theres a PvE-version of the ‘PvP Masquerade Armor’, how it is called and how you can get it.

most stupid thing is that some helmets only cover the charrs forehead while their long neck is completely naked.

also, what armor class?
as charr necromancer i still use the wraith mask from the beginning and transmutate its skin on every new headpiece i get.

as for medium classes, the cultural armor looks very good.

Toxic Landing has an internal cooldown aswell.

Didnt test it, but since Mesmers ‘Descent into Madness’ is said to have a 40sec internal cooldown, Toxic Landings cooldown could be 40secs too.

Just wanted to remind you of this.
Its definitely more than 40 seconds. Probably 45 seconds.

And another one: Bloodthirst doesnt work with Sigil of Blood.
Dont know if thats intended or not, but its just sad.

- Scaling on condition dmg is broken.
At around 800ish cond dmg you hit around 70~ with each dot tick, at 1.6K you hit 104~

Why is that broken? Did you expect ~140 damage with 1.6k condition damage? Conditions have a base damage based on your level too, you know?

Other than that:
yes, its very frustrating that many of our skills/traits are bad, bugged, useless or have a better version on other classes.

I’m trying a warrior now, they seem to be the No.2-easymode-class in GW2 (after guardian)

that weapon-while-running bug annoys the hell out of me.
My necromancer plays with dagger, my warrior with a sword and it looks just stupid.
Axes look ok tho, if they have a very long shaft.

im playing a charr necromancer too and have the same problem.

most of the cloth sets look ridiculous and im still looking for a ‘Pants’-item that doesnt look like a skirt.
For the last 70 levels my charr necro looked the same tbh.

We’ll add an option to stop queueing for your home world, for players who want to remain on an overflow server indefinitely without being asked.

yes, they definitely should.
as a necromancer it happens very often that i press the key for death shroud more than once or too long because it doesnt react (cause of lag) and then the death shroud is turned off again. thats really annoying, some sort of mini-cooldown on death shroud (one or half a second) could possibly fix that tho.
