Malice/Bursting has 4/5/6% cond.duration and thats fine. Sigils for a single condition give 10% so giving a sigil for ALL conditions 7% or more might be OP compared to the other sigils.

Technology is charr? What are the Asuras doing then? :p

Asuran Technology has a lot of magic in it. Charr technology is closer to actual RL-stuff (exaggerated of course). Imo clockwork-tech fits more into the Charr’s steampunk theme than into Asurans magic-tech-stuff.

Besides, it makes little sense to have the humans basically worthless in the setting of the game. They are supposed to be one of the 5 major powers in the fight against the Elder Dragons. Charrs got a strong military backed by a very advanced industrial society. Asuras are very advanced technologically, the pale tree is basically designed to mass produce intelligent troops immune to the dragon corruption along with their ability linked to the Dream.

And humans got what? They got gods that don’t really talk to them and used to give them strong magic but not anymore. It’s like when the big 5 have a meeting and the Charr ambasadors is like, hey, why do we allow the humans here? And the others say : “well better them than the Scritt, the Hylek, the Ogres or the Quaggans”

But thats exactly what they are :P
They are rather primitive and without any special skills, but at least better than the other rather useless races.
In my opinion, they are just one of the 5 power against the dragons, because there are many of them.

i say:
-whenever a thief uses a skill in Stealth, it should put him out of stealth. not just when the thief attacks something
-whenever a thief leaves stealth, he should be “Revealed”, no matter whether that happens via attack or stealth just runs out.

that wont hurt the normal thief in a fight at all, just the (D/P)-permastealthers. and when a thief decides to run away he wont be able to use one stealth after another anymore.

oh and kitten , let us keep a thief targetted when he leaves stealth. that would help a lot too.

4 change backstab name to sneak attack, no changes to mechanics or DPS.

the pistol attack is already called sneak attack. also, why???

just my opinion about which of the 7 classes in wvw are the best for that. no idea what engis could do because noone i know plays them.

and if by chance you do play a necro, you really need to learn more about what you are talking about so the opinions you bring here have a factual basis.

Yea i really don’t like the terrormancer anyway, played it only a couple times ;P. Mostly watched videos of op necros owning with fear spam.

But i’ve been playing a conditionmancer for 6 months now, I was under the impression that condition damage was not mitigated by toughness, am i wrong on this ?

I’am sorry, smartkittens, but yes, i’ve read what both candidates say ingame and apparently made the wrong conclusion.

Theyre both saying: We’ll introduce Keg brawl, crab toss, sanctum sprint and southsun survival.
Kiel doesnt mention her own minigame at all; i thought that cant be right.
So i assumed, Anet just copypasted Gnashblades description but failed to replace ‘Southsun Survival’ with ‘Aspect Arena’.

stealth-stomping is just lame cause of how easy it is to get stealthed for thiefs/rangers.

Everything else is fine, since you have to blow a skill with a reasonably long cooldown for it.

I like both fractals. But SS Survival is a lot more fun and as a character, i like Evon more than boring Kiel.

Couldn’t care less about keys tho. It’s still RNG and it hates me (and i hate it). Therefore i wont buy them.

The only thing that concerns me is that voting for Evon might send the wrong message to Anet, namely “I like RNG”.

btw: Evon is a charr and wears pants. If he wins, could he please provide us with more (light)-pants for charr? my charr necro is sick of skirts…

I also dont like the time it takes until you finally start leeching, at the beginning of the cast.

What do you think about turning it into a group heal? If, for example, it heals nearby allies (minions and players) by 50% of the heal?

-no actual rewards (= no gold). the PvP-version of my char already looks good, so theres no incentive to grind for better skins. i have no idea what to do with the glory. and grinding dozens of levels for a pvp-exclusive stomp-animation? no thanks.

-capturing points becomes boring rather fast and i really dislike Spirit Watch.

-limited stat-combinations (im not talking about lower stats overall, but about the possibility to mix stat-combos like in PvE (50/50 PTV/Knights or Rabid/Carrion, just as an example)

-i would love to watch some competitive high-level tournaments, so i can see what is currently going on in the pvp-scene, to get some inspiration etc.. but nowhere in the game is any information about when these occur and how i can watch them (or i havent found them yet). and i cba to use twitch or other external stuff and frankly, i shouldnt have to. i have the game-client; i should be able to see that kind of stuff IN the game.

-From what i’ve seen, the majority of organised teams consists of 1Guardian, 1Mesmer, 1 Ele. the 2 remaining slots are shared between the other 5 classes in the game. That class balance looks kinda broken. But as i said, i havent seen that many high-lvl-games, so no idea if that was just a coincidence or not.

i sometimes do pvp for the daily tho since it can be a lot faster than the PvE-version.

as for the rest:
the jewelery is obvious: Zerk-Amulet, Zerk/Valk-Rings, Zerk-Earstuff. I guess backpack is Zerk too cause everything else would be dumb given its crit-damage-to-stat-ratio.

with divinity-runes, ptv-scepter and zerker-dagger i get exactly 91% crit damage.

btw, the displayed magic find comes from the account-wide achievement based magic find (dont have gw2 on this pc so i cant check)?

Damage taken while in death shroud will now overflow to the necromancer’s health pool if the damage taken is greater than the remaining life force.

Sucks So there goes our one and only damage-block…looks like DS’ skill-ceiling gets lower and lower.
i wonder why it was changed…because of the falldamage? cause of crying backstab-thieves? It cant be the PvE… many OHKO-Boss-attacks have hit you multiple times anyway.

*Fixed a bug that caused the necromancer to take increased damage from direct attacks while in death shroud.

Dammit, Anet, is there any part of DS you didnt kitten up completely?
Im curious how the new tankiness of DS turns out. Too bad that Anet is again not able to provide some actual numbers.
Wouldve have preferred it to regenerate, receive heals and lifesteal while in DS tho.

Ghastly Claws: The total life force granted from this skill has been increased from 10% to 12%.

Unnecessary; that skill was already good. if you want to buff axe, start with #1

Spectral Armor: Incoming hits now grant 8% life force; has a 1-second internal cooldown.

Spectral Walk: Incoming hits now grant 2% life force; has a 1-second internal cooldown. This spectral skill now grants life force while Spectral Armor is active.

Aaand it’s dead…one of the few things that helped us to stay alive against multiple enemies. Was a life-saver in WvW

Mark of Blood: The base radius of this skill has been increased from 120 to 180.
Chillblains: The base radius of this skill has been increased from 120 to 180.
Putrid Mark: The base radius of this skill has been increased from 120 to 180.

YES, finally! No more must-put-10-in-DM…

Terror: Reduced the damage by 17%. Fixed a bug so this trait now checks for the torment condition as well.

Couldve been worse. Still sad that Terror gets nerfed, not Dhuumfire.

Overall some good and bad changes. I agree, that you cant tank fall damage anymore just sucks. I hate that change.
The mark-change is good; i hope they clean up the mark-traits-mess a bit in the next updates. 4 traits are still 2-3 too many.

WvW Achievements are unrealistic

Would making the WvW titles be similar to the Luxon/Kurzick titles in GW1 work?

Basically creating like 10 tiers within each of the achievements and then providing anyone who reaches Tier 1 with a Title, and every followed tier upgrades that title.

Also greatly increasing the AP you get for each of the tier (titles) would help.

It’s small, but it’s something I guess.

In the likes of;

Current System:

Tier 1: +1 AP
Tier 2: +5 AP
Tier 3: +5 AP
Tier 4: +10 AP
Tier 5: +10 AP
Tier 6: +20 AP Title: Ultimate Dominator

New system:

Tier 1: +1 AP, Title: First Blood
Tier 2: +10 AP, Title: Realm Avenger
Tier 3: +25 AP, Title: Veteran Avenger
Tier 4: +50 AP, Title: Champion Avenger
Tier 5: +75 AP, Title: Ultimate Avenger

I don’t get why people care some much about the necro theme thing… If there is a legendary you think look good, get it! Heck, i run around with incinerator and a pink quaggan backpiece with white armor… why? i think it looks good

because for looking good, the context is important. if you throw different cool looking items together, that doesnt mean that the combination will look good too.

incinerator for example. looks awesome; imo fits perfectly to a character with a steampunk-styled armor. but on my necro? not so much

if you feel too weak when downscaled, then you and your gear are just bad.

the downscaling should be harsher, imo. running around in low level areas as a fully equipped lvl80 is way too easy.

i wouldnt recommend a complete all-stat armor, cause even as a hybrid you want to get 2 or 3 stats relatively high, which isnt possible with too much celestial gear.
on the other hand, having some pieces of all-stat-items as an addition to other stuff can really complete a hybrid build. especially with all the cheap critical damage it provides

this second page is partially a discussion about in-DS-healing.

i still think it should be changed. at least lifesteal should work; combined with life transfer, the amount of stolen HP could become pretty high.
necros still lack sustain and allowing healing while in DS to a certain degree could help a lot in this regard. and i would rather have that than just more life force generation slapped on everything.

why would you consider that build “crazy”?
the equipment and most of the traits/skills are a pretty generic full-condition-spec.

i would maybe drop spite to 0 and spend the 10 pts elsewhere. and swap out spectral mastery for path of midnight. other than that, it’s fine, imo.

Meh… point is now there is no sigil for fear duration in spvp while there is duration sigil for EVERYTHING else.

What I found really interesting was in the live stream they mentioned the sigil working on Daze was also a bug, yet in the patch notes, no mention of the additional daze duration being removed from the sigil. Easy enough to test with WH, but really the double standard is irritating if that is the case.

With the cooldowns and limitations to on-crit and on-swap sigils, there are really not that many options for offhand sigil.

and i really hope it stays that way. dont want to lose extended duration for my whorn and tactical strike aswell…

btw hisazul: there are no specific runes/sigils for confusion or torment either.

but i really hope, melandru is fixed. dont get my hopes up tho.

What class best for +all Stats armor

depends on if you have a build that can make use of most of the stats; balanced builds, hybrids and classes with a use for the healing power, for example.
but even in a balanced build, you want to get one or two stats relatively high, which isnt possible with too much celestial.
so i dont recommend getting a full celestial armor, but having a couple of celestial pieces or divinity runes are awesome in the right build.

btw, is there even already information about how high the celestial armor-stats are?

There is only one thing that needs to be worked, fear itself.

Just not funny when your toon jumps down a cliff to escape a necro using fear :P.
Auto movement during fear should have some AI i believe, like not to jump down a cliff.

Otherwise everything looks to be in order.

in PvE: movement speed all the way.
signets, swiftness-skills (which sometimes also forces me to use specific weapons)…
other than that, as a powernecro, i COULD use all kinds of utilities, but well of suffering just outshines everything else. so i run around with locust signet, well of suffering and spectral walk/another well.

in WvW:
at least 1 stunbreaker or source of stability. the rest varies.

Personally I have stopped hunting Orr mobs for loot – you get better loot from random world events and their mobs in the other low level zones. 40 mins like the example above you can get 5-10 yellows depending on luck. But of course that is with its own limitations.

What sucks the most is also as shown – 50% of the mobs give nothing. Why?! Not even a porus bone?! A moldy finger?!

ANET should give us a Hardcore Cursed Shore zone which scale up all regular mobs to veterans with guaranteed loot and all veterans to champions. It’d be hard as kitten but at least it would give cursed shore some meaning.

there was a place called “gwauns valley” or something like that in mount maelstrom.
a small place filled with fast respawning champions. it was awesome!
you killed a lot less mobs, but the champs lived long enough for everyone to tag and each of them gave a guaranteed drop.
it still gave (considerably) less gold per hour than CoF but nevertheless Anet felt the nerf to destroy the spot…
which is a shame; it was great to have a farm spot that was not Orr or CoF.

-necros still have many issues. 2 of our traitlines and a LOT of our minor traits are kitten. we still lack the sustain to be an attrition class. instead, we got more burst in the last update (why???) and a couple of stealth nerfs. but overall i think necs are in an ok spot. not good, but definitely not terrible.
-thieves: it’s still too easy to escape fights as a thief. thieves can still permastealth. pistolMH needs some love/rework; some dualskills too. other than that, i think thieves are fine.
-rangers: pets got nerfed. to make longbow more viable, shortbow got nerfed; because kitten logic. Pet-AI and -behavior is, in my opinion, still awful.
-warriors: i only play mine in WvW-groups and it is awesome.

i cant say much about the other classes, so i wont.

—> from what i’ve played, the worst class is in my opinion the ranger, mostly due to the pet-AI. necro might come close again, depending on the next update.

it’s really hard to find unqiue stuff that isnt already at least in a similar manner in the game.

shapeshifting —> necro’s DS, engi-weaponkits

kitten —> too similar to thief
edit: i meant Assassin…

fighter/mage —> guardian

holy mage —> guardian

sniper —> we have ranger and thief. fix ranger’s longbow or give thief a rifle and voila! you have a sniper.

dervish/melee-boonkitten —> (dagger)-elementalist, guardian

chronomancer —> would probably turn out as some sort of subtle squishy fighter with lots of tricks, utility and disables and therefor too similar to mesmer.

any sort of dark knight/mage with blood magic and conditions —> necro

bard —> you find aspects of it in thief and guardian, mesmer too. but it could still fit pretty well into the game imo

but if i had to choose, i’d want the dervish. it’s like a very original, way cooler and less faggy version of the typical guardian/paladin-like classes you see in most RPGs. I really loved my dervish in GW1, even if she looked more like a kittenty red riding hood instead of a religious wanderer/hermit

One single blackflaming shield =/= armor sets and different weapons with black/dyable flames/particle effects

And while there are plenty of necro-like staff (+s, plural, but the kittened filter censors it…), it’s rather scarce when it comes to other weapons and armor.

But it doesnt even matter. even if they would introduce necro-armor skins it would probably still look kitten on my charr, thanks to clipping issues and stretched textures…

-down- and upleveling. even if youre still too strong (downleveled) or too weak (upleveled in wvw).
-jumping puzzles
-the combat system. while i complain a lot about balance and stuff, every time i play another, less mobile game, i realise how amazing GW2’s system is.
-no kittening trinity

how hard can it be to implement 6 new items into the game? items that arent even visible.
All they need is a name, a picture and a description for the items. Everything else (level req, slot, stats, price, merchants) is already given…

CC: considering that necs have to eat all the incoming damage with either DS or their health bar, powerful heals are completely justified.

spectral walk: it’s fine. if ppl are too kittened to avoid that wall, it’s their fault.

Doom and terror: maybe the extended duration in combination with the damage is too much. but it would be enough to bring down ONE of these two things.
i really liked the suggestion that doom should have an extended duration when the nec is disabled instead of when being close to the target.

Epidemic: maybe a little bit too strong for the 15 secs. i think a cooldown increase to 20 secs. would be fine. otherwise i would like to see more self-conditioning and a slightly shorter cast time on it.

Flesh golem: annoying? OH NOOO!… guess what? its kittening ELITE skill -.- something would be terribly wrong if it wasnt annoying at least.

no, it’s not OP, it’s fine. if the conditional healing is removed, it would be too weak.
instead of overnerfing it, the other heals should rather get buffed.

Well of Blood’s cooldown is a bit high. and its combo-field could be changed to water.
a cleansed condition every 3 seconds might help, but then it maybe becomes too similar to CC.

Blood fiend’s second skill should be instant. but even with that i guess i still wouldnt pick it because minion.

edit: Lumm, i guess every nec would like to have that to some degree, but the last SotG showed that Anet is still too scared of it.

If you’re not getting hit, there’s no dps loss when your deathshroud naturally drops and you have to axe2 anyway, so it actually kind of does nothing in that circumstance. Also, a full life force bar doesn’t get you 100 lifeblasts, it’s more like 25 or less, so it’s actually every twelfth crit lifeblast gets you one free lifeblast.

whats the actual cast time of life blast? i read somewhere it’s 1.5secs (with aftercast).
if thats the case, you could fire like 17 life blasts with a full DS and no additional traits/incoming damage.

@doc orderly: i guess life transfer would be the only problematic skill, combined with deathly perception, with 9 hits per enemy.

10months to address the class 3+weeks to rebreak it again….you’re welcome. The necromancer is a small number of players for obvious reasons. Why it took10months to help the class and will only be approx. 3+weeks for them to rebreak so they can go back never being seen it wvw. Absolutely amazes me though the quick reaction we are getting to fixing what is so called OP.

OP-as-kitten dagger-eles were allowed to run around for months and anet didnt care. but as soon as some crybabies have problems with necros, we’re getting smacked with the nerfbat…

In fact, they could replace Dhuumfire with a similar trait that does 1 or 2 stacks of torment instead of burning. Problem solved.

Burning kind of fits into a Power/COnd.duration-traitline because even if not specced for condition, it does fairly high damage.
Torment on the other hand has the lowest base damage of all damaging conditions and in my opinion would be very misplaced in Spite.
So i really hope they dont change it to torment without moving it.

Petty sure the strongest spam boons (protection – down to 25%/10%, aegis*blocking in general* – only blocks damage not actual skill effects, vigor – down to 75%, Might – 25 at 80) will be nerfed in some time soon, so no worries.

that sounds awful, just like the horrible retal-nerf.
what chesire said; they should have big effects but less accessible.

Btw, do you have a source for that? or just speculation?
