Let me guess, when I mentioned Engineer, you directly thought of HGH*409 lamers? The only thing I’d ever care about when facing a sword Thief is where he shadowsteps from with the ‘2’, nothing more hilarious than seeing Thieves trying their Flanking Strikes.
nope i ve been an engineer for quite a while and theres many counters maybe if 90% thieves dint play brainless glass cannons they’d see that .
Okey, Anet effectively killed most Mesmers this patch in WvW and they were already rare in PvP, but it only takes one to do a Moa Morph on the Necro and all the minions go POOF with full cooldowns. Show me another profession with such a hard counter.

5 Perma blind so that warrior wont even tickle a thief.

There’s a very easy solution to this; Don’t fight a Ranger underwater!
and avoid fighting all other classes on the ground brilliant!
clearly you fought crappy warriors the warriors i ve seen land 29k with an axe and up to 15k with kill shot
Thiefs evolved now they spam Sword #3 landing for 9k+ good luck dodging it too cuz sword #2 is a shadow step/stun beaker.
and of course no one mentions that the pet Heals even after it is Dead so theres no point in killing the pet maybe knock it back at most .
and i dare say its an OP Downed skill what does engineer do low damage knockback AoE with a 20s cooldown.Warrior revives but dies if it doesnt kill anyone in 10-15s and doesnt have the trait, ele has vapor form and some earth bleed thing wich also is an active skill and has a cooldown , necro has an AoE poison with 20s cooldown .
so no its not fair that this class not only has a self revive but it is also an unstoppable revive .
Guardian is the perfect example they can heal when downed but it can be stopped with poisons and other methods .
the key to combat at those levels is Kiting pretty much all levels to be honest tho . bomb kit is great against melee mobs since they simply keep running into them bombs.
Mine kit has to return theres only one thign that made them OP wich could be fixed if we take med kit for example , what was OP was the fact they had no cooldown so why no add independent cooldowns to each mine bam problem solved 15-20s on each mine and we good to go.
now heres what we gonna hate that this “band” then sees someone using the original artwork and they ll try sue them to oblivion or something for stealing their art lol xD.
low level zones are meant to be easy so new players can actually get used to the game and its mechanics.
well just a suggestion i Think you should make the Party boxes Minimizeable like Click on the Party box thingy and poof it hides your team members as well as smaller enemy boxes on the top left of the screen right over the party box.
now what does this accomplish well i usually main a manual aiming class so when i end up having to move my mouse cursor alot or my enemy moves to the top or left borders i cant hit them because their UI bars and what not are in the way thus making my skills be casted right on my legs thus being wasted giving unnesary cooldowns.

Players Dont hate hard content many love it what players Hate is how unrewarding everything is take for example dungeons and Champions all dungeons pretty much reward you the same despite some taking minutes and others hours some champions die quickly but some take longer or are more challenging yet they all drop Blue or white stuff. then you take the fact you pretty much are meant to do said dungeons once or twice a day only thanks to the DR system wich means even less rewards .
- Because warriors may build with extra stability, they cannot use control skills.
- Because guardians may build with constant protection, they cannot build toughness.
- Because thieves may build to spam evasion, they cannot dodge.
- Because engineers may build with extra kit skills, they cannot weapon swap.
- Because Rangers may build with the highest range, they cannot use melee.
- Because Elementalists may build with extra condition clears, they cannot apply conditions.
- Because Necromancers may build a minion party, they cannot party with others.
- Because Mesmers may self apply any boon, they may not receive boons from others.
I don’t think anyone can deny these balance changes would be completely moronic. If not only for the fact that an entire game mechanic is being denied to each class, then almost certainly because in each case it is being denied due to potential use of an optional skillset, rather than a constant.
And yet one of these is true…

The funny part is how many people think the thread was serious because a thief can CnD on a semi afk zerker build in the middle of 10 players.
I don’t think even half of the responses here realize he couldn’t do a single attack except for CnD or else 3s reveal would get him instantly killed.
doesnt mean its inefective tho since it hits for 5k damage easily. and initiative system = no cooldown.
Ahh, thieves. It’s like ANet looked at every balancing mechanic present in other games for stealth classes and was like, “… Maybe we should use some of these… Nah.”

I dont really get why people complain about the stealth in the video. Just look at the damage!
Its WAY too low for a thief, he has clearly sacrificed everything to get that kind of stealth. He’s not insta-killing the enemy players, he’s not AoEing everything on the screen. Something is very, very wrong with his build. How could the commander even survive the initial hit without cheating, did he have like 5000 toughness??!!?
Thief need a buff and the video shows it very well.
if you read his description he is one of the 1% thiefs that do TOUGHNESS builds wich is why he barely took damage as well. and he did Not sacrifice anything for stealth his build has 110% crit damage as well as almost 3k attack.
if anything we’ll see everyone running thiefs now.
Not like my thief can jump into a 30 man zerg first and always survive by daggerstorming with malice signet on.
your thief however can spam Cluster bombs poison and stealth to run away from the zerg .
Then aegis would DESTROY thieves, once you see them go stealth > aegis > block > thief revealed for 4 secs > CC > dead thief.
Of course, an experienced thief can get out of any battle alive as long as they dont get kitteny or are just good.
this is precisely the thing Thief players have gotten used to playing Without Skill if the class was balanced they would qq and launch death threats at anet . lets be honest 90% thiefs run berserker or something similiar and it is not because the class simply sucks its because they got used to the broken mechanics giving unfair and easy gameplay theres ridiculous amounts of viable builds for thiefs some are ridiculously tanky while having dps so its a We dont want to L2Play issue.
I recently started playing guild wars again cause i was busy for the past 5-6 months and had stopped playing.I decided to play a thief (Mostly for playing pvp). But after looking at the forums i lost any will to play a thief.All i hear is how nerfed and hated the class is and this is happening only to thieves(at least to this extent). So in the end making a thief is a waste of time? Because i would really hate to level a class to 80 and then realize that no matter what i won’t even be able to be average in pvp no matter how good I am?
can you spam #2 ? if so you are perfectly qualified to be a thief.

great expected idea however a supply removing trap would be greatly unbalanced if a zerg simply stacked them at certain spots
Fire grab is one of the most powerful ele bursts for off hand dagger along with churning earth, and it’s fine as is.
also great with Scepter since #1= instant burn.
heres what you gotta do:
go to your login screen
Delete character if no empty slots are available
Creat an Engineer character of any race
Max out the said engi and go to WvW
Realize you should be grateful you had such an extremely versatile and powerful class and Delete the engineer.
take this post as an example of what happens when you rely on an overpowered class rather than actual skill

I played this game from launch to a few months after that – absolutely loved the concept and gameplay of the Engineer, but after hitting the level cap it quickly became apparent that Engineers were seriously lacking compared to other classes – it took flawless performance with an engineer just to get on level playing ground with an ‘average’ player of most other classes.
To be completely honest, when I started playing GW2, I looked at the Engineer and drooled with excitement. The thought of using TURRETS! Oh my…. GAWD!
Not too far into the game, I had realized that the thing I thought of Instantly when I thought of Engineer fell, needless to say, short, from what I planned on expecting from a game that was amazing in its early form.
The Build below could be ridiculously stupid, assuming A-Net finally wanted us to use the Turrets they so “Desperately” want us to use, and gave them a buff. I’m not asking for a class wide morph, nor a huge class wide buff. Just the Turrets. And even then, the Talents regarding the Turrets.

I would defiantly not want this as an engineer. And as a result the ranger gets less bonus from stats on gear as the stats do not translate to the rangers pet.
have you even used turrets before ? if so you should know turrets do NOT have critical hit chance and their damage is fixed and mediocre highest being rocket turret for around 800ish and 1000+ burn with the long burning if it isnt cleansed turrets are also immobile and have slow rate of fire and the massive cooldowns are just plain stupid oh yes lets look at our Elite turret the Mortar … grenades far outranges outdamages and outperfoms applying conditions rendering it useless
now ranger pets highly agile even a trait boosting 30% speed passively pets can be buffed pets have crit chance and some can hit for u p to 7k damage pets can also be heal remotedly whereas turrets you gotta whack em with your tool kit pets ALWAYS attack your target unless you ask it not to you can swap pets on the go Without sacrificing utility skills with a simpe 15s swap
so lets see total pet Pros:
Boons
Mobility
Short cooldown swap
has 4 attacks
Crits
doesnt take utility slots
does everything you could do with 3 turrets except for Burning (oh nvm theres burning pets )
has an elite thats actually effective for both player and pet : Rampage as One
has a trait buffing 30% damage
as for turrets:
none
specially for the fact the adept and grandmaster turret traits broke and arent doing anything at the moment .

You can get into any camp/tower on the map no matter how well siege is placed, it just takes tactics and time, the days of running up to a gate and beating it down in minutes are gone.
The only think that really needs fixing is the AC range, and being able to attack threw walls/mountains.
i really have no problem with AC range its doing what its meant to do being Siege however what it got wrong is the Siege damage it destroys siege weaponry in a fraction of the time a ballista would . and sure you can break camps and walls but you get stuck when your enemy has 20 Acs blasting simultaneously and your whole team is unable to act because they are all on the back of walls so nothing hits them.
its pointless most of the times to attack keeps or towers because the defenders simply drop siege at stair or on the back of walls making said siege unhittable while they simply destroy whatever they want .
They obviously don’t want engineer to have a high burst damage or have good sustained damage either.
I have to disagree with this. The Grenade Kit and Bomb Kit both have very good sustained damage. And Static Discharge has great burst damage.
They just took issue with 100nades, doing tons of damage by literally pressing two buttons. Warriors can do this with Hundred Blades, sure, but that requires you being immobilized in place and is a cleave versus AoE.
Hundred blades is also not instant, doesn’t pull the foe to you and doesn’t stack 18 stacks of vulnerability.
both require the same setup an immobilize or stun or knockdown to land hundred blades dont give vulnerability but gives might stacks wich gives the same result. 1 might =1.5% damage if im not mistaken
if you make another “Solo” players party hit me up
sorry to break your bubble but even i being an Engineer was able to solo the darn thing usually pugs drag me down with all the “Revive me, im down!,ASFKL i Fell”
best advice use stun breaker focus on heals and jump the shockwaves and tell your pug this aint pvp nor wvw and bring a decent build and utilities.
Rezzet is just not good in grenades it seems. Grenades are not only about skill shots, it’s much more perfect camera controll. Maybe he is not aware of this.
never said i wasnt good at them i use them myself just sayin they are easy to counter. plus theres always the easy net shot+net attack+net turret for opening attacks.

Maybe. But the fact remains: Grenadier is a viable trait selection in WvW, PvP, and PvE. Given the popularity of the Grenade Kit across all realms of the game I can’t imagine anyone would ever bother trying to argue otherwise.

If someone is “kiting” me in sPvP that means they’re not on the control point. Meaning I’m contesting/capturing/holding it. As a bunker, I’ve succeeded in my job.
I also think you considerably underrate the survivability of a bunker Engineer. We have some of the best condition cleansing in the game, second only to maybe D/D Elementalists. We even have a passive trait that will randomly convert conditions to boons at an 8% clip.

Rezzet – please take your negativity elsewhere. Also, incorrect. While grenades and hgh are both viable builds there are others that don’t use them. You just may not have mastered them yet.

frankly my best advice is Delete your Engineer and roll something “Balanced” like thief mesmer or ranger.
1. you do not go you war unarmed and expect the enemy to do the same
2. siege weapons are meant to be fear inducing and devastating
arrow carts are actually balanced and breaks that everyone ball up together routine dont wanna die/take too much damage pop in one or 2 blocks and invulnerability and/or simply dont be pure glass cannon.
as it was using arrow carts was worthless since they did less than average damage the player would ve done simply attacking on his own now they actually feel like siege.
well i equipped my ascended gear to a character is it possible to move the items to another character and then make them wearable for it by Upgrading them to infused state ?

Pssst it costs initiative…. Maybe at least read up on the classes you’re complaining about?
Did you play them all in PVP? It’s not hard to just give them a test drive as you get a fully functional character right from the start. Go give all the classes a shot and then make an informed judgement on balance between them.
i have 1 of each class except guardian but i did play guardian to about level 50 before deleting him. and im not saying Thief is the only unbalanced class im saying theres many unbalanced classes/builds wich are creating bad habits of relying on classes or builds rather than actual skill , the skill i know it costs initiative but theres also several traits and even a sigil to boost initiative gain.
if you dont stop spoiling the overpowered classes you wont be able to balance them because players rely on the broken class’s power rather than skill.
take thief for example and point me one that doesnt spam heartseeker and who can blame them the darn skill hits for up to 4k damage even on bunker builds and has no cooldown .
Fix the Harpoon Gun and make its auto attack fire like that of ranger at least so we can actually hit our enemies.
the molten facility bosses’s attacks hit multiple times by multiple i mean 6 times per berserker shockwave and 12 times from a single fireball from firestorm, is that normal?
does it also shoot two arrows like hers?
right now theres certain items you can buy for 4s and upgrade them to items you can sell for 90s each made 30 gold under an hour like that myself.
