Basically the things that need to be adressed
Mesmers i’d say as normal retaliation has 10s duration and probably about 30-40s cooldowns however when it comes to defending or attacking gates mesmers simply throw 3 illusions at the gate with Permanent retaliation each so thats 3 retaliation stacks per mesmer.
the second thing to fix is obvious add an internal cooldown to both Retaliation and confusion damage confusion as it is is broken:
you take damage for dodging attacking healing changing kits( in the case of engineer)
so either you sit and die or you kill yourself .
the answer is simple the most unbalancing classes in wvw are Mesmer Thief and Eles. the single most “Op” class would be Mesmer.
Fix? Retaliation is a pretty good defense against burst specs. Saved my bacon against thieves and shatter mesmers several times. So if they “nerf” retaliation, they better nerf burst specs too.
that is another thing that needs fixing as well other than pretty much guardians and necros and maybe d/d eles having toughness gear is near useless because the game is too focused on raw damage and well condition damage ignores armor
both Retal and Confusion need a simple fix simply add a 1-2s cooldown upon damaging. because as it stands its no wonder everyone is going mesmer in wvw phantasms have perma retaliation so bam all mesmers drop clones at gates and anyone dumb enough to attack instantly dies.
Elixir gun’s Fumigate skill should affect the caster i think and perhaps the #1 skill should have longer bleed duration as well as its fire rate dropped to 2/4.
for engineers to atack with grenades through tower gates? i dont see how its happening since grenades dont arc that much midair to hover over the gate at close range.
I’m not sure how much experience you have in WvW, but it’s normal for every class to have an ability that attacks through the tower gates. Guardians and thieves and warriors spin to win through gates, Engineers grenade/flamethrow, elementalists/necros/rangers/mesmers all aoe through gates….it’s normal game mechanics.
it would be normal mechanics if it wasnt for the camera exploit used to aim behind the gate from any angle and distance. just comfirmed it with an asura normally the shot would be impossible because A: if too close the camera zooms onto the character or B: he’d be too far to make the shot or simply too small to heft the grenades over the gate gap
as soon he went and did a run at super box he was throwing nades over the gate simply by jumping since he was too small wich means tall players would throw grenades easily without having to jump.
and lets point out this bug can be done with Any class .

or perhaps the players entering the said keep or those attacking the actual gate to push back the attackers or defenders. i assume this exploit is being done with the super box camera bug.

Turrets should have critical hit chance and scaling critical damage .
i ve noticed mesmers in WVW simply walk up to keep gates drop a clone through the gate and leave while the clone stays for ridiculous periods of time harrassing the gates keeping them contested.
the problem was with grenades and thankfully was adressed so theres really no reason to not go asura engineer so far except as was said earlier Jumping puzzles but eh its not all that big of a deal.
karkas are the best example why bother killing Vet karkas when the young ones are the ones that often drop loot and drop karka shells as well and you can kill the young ones in under 3 seconds.
all i can say is if someone could mail me one it would mean the world to me xD havent gotten any since day 1 .

Solution for this would be nerfing grenade kits damage so it wont hurt engineer so bad.
in case you din’t know Retaliation has its own damage based off the Target’s power so even if you did 1 damage you’d still take big damage if your target has decent power.
its not so much as damage what makes eles OP its the fact eles can continuosly heal from 40-25% hp back to 100% over and over while keeping all boons up indefinetly and cleaning all conditions as well .
So will there be rifle and pistol skins from the new event any time soon?
Watching Thieves get a hotfix within a week of one of their traits being broken by a patch while knowing Engineers have a bugged trait that has gone untouched since release seven months ago is disheartening. I give the developers the benefit of the doubt on most things, but it really is starting to look like they don’t care about the Engineer, the least played profession in the game.
pretty much this thiefs had the same issue almost and theirs got fixed within the span of what 1-3 days?
just make it a gain 10% crit on full endurance
5 minute is a joke the time out should be 30 mins so i could actually put em in strategic places with my engi buddies and then co-ordinate a strategy.
you sure you wasnt hit with Ranger’s AoE Root elite it shows no icons other than the bleeds it starts stacking on you.
Worker keeps grabbing and using supplies for a non existant wall upgrade non stop.

like any engineer i’d throw my elites without a second doubt with the current elites we got.
i’d offer to join but i dont know what to do myself other than do the daily grind.
it needs serious rework today i was pulled from Inside a tower all the way Outside .(thank god i had shields or the zerg would ve squished me)
zoomhack must be a common tool as i was being hit with the AoE that wipes boons and applies random conditions over and over while being behind gate wich im sure should affect LoS.
thats another interesting fact the sound happens even while the game is minimized.
i’d give anything for the physical disks x.x as for why well think about it disks simply install the game while digitally you have to Download the whole thing and then start installing wich takes hours.
With modern games, especially MMOs like GW2, patched content is almost larger than the original disc copy. So even if you install it from the disc, you have to download about as much anyway.
yeah but its still easily 4 hours saved and having a faulty HDD means i ll have to reinstall the game several times for a year or two.
Developers should’ve realized something is going on by now when 70% of the game population has steered towards certain class(es) wich pretty much shows some negligence in balance.
thiefs are meant to be stealthy however one thing is sneaking around being stealthy and another is being an invisible ninja assasin.
am i the only one that feels it needs lower cooldown like the tool belt at least should have 40s cooldown and maybe the elixir as well as quickening is no longer impacting as much and has such a short duration.
why isnt stealth wearing out when the target Blocks the hit if someone blocks it means the attack landed but was not effective and thus should disable stealth.
I agree. It’s a backstab. Their shield isnt on their back if they’re in a fight. Therefore, backstab should ignore block.

well using your logic then the thief would still have to swing his blade to do the said stab therefore others could still move with their shields and still block it or better yet if you want to use realism Thiefs and bandits do not become invisible in reality.

yea I totally agree. there should also be some sort of traits called something like “Magnetic Protection” that when you successfully block and invisible attack the attacker gets immobilized for 1 second. Or when you block you perform a blow out. “Block of the Bear” something cool sounding and useful.

What is it that causes a Very loud random pop up sound as if something was dropped down a tunnel or hallway?
that mesmer pull really needs fixing it goes through walls and gates , same goes for rangers with longbow it sometimes starts shooting through walls . as for the dragon’s tooth that might ve been a hack.
when it comes to nading siege always slightly infront of it nades do AoE damage so you dont have to aim ontop of them.
the Hide In Plain Sight Trait is bugged it grants stealth however it also completely negates the skill that triggers the stealth for example when i try pull ranger enters stealth but does not get pulled.

its what i use and havent lost a 1v1 match so far only class i had issues with was mesmer but i figured the key to fighting them was running out of their LoS and prepare for another offensive. i ve played most classes so tool kit shield is more than enough for me no need for condi removals or stun breakers if the oponent never lands it to begin with .
Fishing can be decent, as long as it does not reward players for being AFK during entire nights and/or days.
There needs to be some ‘active’ component that rewards you for participating.
or have auto fishing optional however the obtained fish or loot or whatever would be considerably low during auto fishing that way bots wouldnt get the rare hard to fish goodies . also manual fishing would have to be like a combat system you equip rod and get some fishing skills when you get a bite you hit F to start the fishing mini game in wich you use said skills wich would make it perfect against bots.

eh FT isnt really good for wvw.
only takes a freaking dodge to jump out of the AoE ring not warrior’s fault if you are using channeling skills.
It’s a Grandmaster trait. It should clear all conditions.
what he or she said at 25% hp you are pretty up up to 1-3 hits away from death as well.
1300+ hours engi and ever since i started i got used to it and kept it .
FT overall is lacking to the point where i went 1 vs 2 against an engineer and a necro and killed them both engineer returned and well you know your build is bad when your enemy(me) dives into your supply crate turrets shrugs your FT damage and demolishes your HP instead.
before classes are brought i Am an engineer myself im glass cannon and still had more survivavility than the other engineer who had shields and Elixir S thats how bad FT seems and pray your enemy doesnt pop retaliation.

yeah try 100b on 3 phantasms with retaliation and confuse you when popped
so far only 2 nerfs are coming for mesmer Stealth and Shatter damage lowered however Mesmers are getting a truck of buffs wich will make shatter damage seems obsolete to begin with.
A truck of buffs? The only verified thing is the change to greatsword/confusing images beam… And it won’t matter really if GS phantasm still hits as hard as a cotton ball… The only other buff I could think of is if they made HM a master instead of GM trait.
the thing about phantasms is the cluster of conditions they can apply and the Permanent retaliation on each wich really punishes AoE and Channeling skill users.
